Okay, I am really excited for what I have cooking for the Dimetio!lives AU story. First draft of an excerpt from the opening scenes here, oh boi, do I have a plot twist planned for this bad boi later on.

No less than four Koopatrol soldiers flank the willowy, cloaked figure, spit-shined silver armor reflecting small moons of burnt umber. Fiery sconces embedded in the granite-walled corridor mark their passage, the hooded creature gliding more than walking, their glib, officious movements in stark contrast to the stone-faced Koopas who march astride in perfect formation, the tramp of their metal boots sounding as one portentous thud, booming down the long, silent hallway of the subterranean wing of the Koopa castle.

At the head of the strange parade strides Kamek, the grizzled wizard forgoing his usual affected shuffle, his permanent expression of displeasure more grim than usual. The wizard’s teal robes drag along the cobbled floor, halting, the simmering misgivings of each Darklands denizen privvy to the delicate situation coiled in every step. Upon reaching the imposing wooden door situated at the far end of the hallway, Kamek raises his magic wand, knocking three times in perfect rhythm - rat-tattat - backing away as the hinges of the heavy door squeal open.
