isn't reverse:1999 AI ?! :[ it looks so unreal...
its not!!! theres no evidence or even anything in game that looks remotely ai
the color palettes that bluepoch uses for the game is desaturated sure but that doesnt mean its ai, evey example ive seen someone point out as "ai" is merely what artists.. do? like desaturation, the hand looking off, etc but when you compare r99 to Actual AI it is definitely clear that r99 is /Not/
please play the game yourself and excuse me a little for getting heated over this

Tumblr media Tumblr media
To mark the first anniversary of @arcanistsanctum, I created a new Discord server for everyone to join in. Server is still a work in progress, so please bear with me and help me notice any channel permissions that need working on.
Based on the reblog contents I see from the blog's archive posts, I can tell there's several of you who will get along remarkably well. I also want to chat with you guys in a more interactive way, so feel free to drop by and introduce yourselves. The vibe will be chill, but let's keep it fun and supportive! There will be channels for casual chats, deep discussions, and creative sharing, not exclusive only to Reverse:1999 though this definitely is the main topic.
If you want a sneak peek of the channels, here they are:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
See you guys over there as well.
There's actually more!
Open Call for Cutout Submissions
Would anyone be interested in submitting their own cutouts from official R99 illustrations? I am considering opening a /submit link if there are people who are willing to contribute. While I can clean backgrounds myself, I honestly don't think it's feasible for me to handle this alone. Reverse 1999 pngs are goated for their own cutouts. But I gather two is always better than one, right?
Hit me up on tumblr or discord if you're interested!
Note: I am not accepting specific cutout requests just yet, but I will post any that I find from other sources if I can. For now. Until I see what comes out of this post.
If there are individuals willing to help, I will also create a channel in Discord server where people can request cutouts. This way, anyone willing to clean backgrounds can see the requests, not just me. :) This is voluntary btw, but you will be considered a blog contributor, officially.
No worries if nobody volunteers! It's just that I won't be able to post some cutout requests timely. Or I may have to decline some.

Have you read Kakania’s side story in r99 yet(or if you plan to). Would be interested in hearing your thoughts!! (Though no pressure of course)
They are addicted to twisting the knife. They can't help themselves.
I'm usually not a fan of the trope of examining a character's psychiatric condition by having a psychiatrist literally just explicitly lay it out. Though it can be used in more elegant and subtle ways, it's usually just a shorthand for letting an omniscient third party just...say what's wrong with a character in an expedient fashion, or summarize what was said more eloquently before in a clinical way less likely to be misunderstood, and that's...boring.
In this case...I still don't like the exact way they did it, but I think the framing device sort of works as a nail in the coffin for Kakania's self-image. Her faith in her psychiatric ability was already in the gutter, since she utterly failed to understand Isolde at all, but now it's completely dust. Her incomplete psychiatric education is now a century outdated, and the theories she clung to as a beacon of a brighter future are now considered defunct. This obviously isn't the only reason, but I'm sure it's a contributing factor for why she doesn't even take up work as a psychiatrist at the Foundation.
I'm...kind of surprised by how little we actually got from it? In many of these stories, we get new insights on the POV characters that we don't really have time for in the plots they come from, insights that occasionally change the way we see them (Isolde comes to mind), but a lot of what was directly spelled out for us here were things we could have already inferred from the MSQ. It didn't give us nothing—we got some more context behind her relationship with her brother, for instance, which makes that scene in the MSQ a little more painful—so I guess my expectations should have been tempered for a personal story about a character who already experienced more or less a full character arc. It's less of a deeper dive into Kakania than it is a necessary point of "closure" for her story, tying up some of the hanging threads to...varying degrees of satisfaction. I did like seeing her express in words that she wished she were more honest about her feelings to the people she cared about—or that she understood herself well enough to know her feelings well enough to put them into words.
I also think parts of it were good for showing how the character development landed. Her decision to join the History...Preservation, I want to say? Division is consistent and a pretty nice ribbon on her growth. The decision to reject joining Vertin's task force is a particularly noteworthy one, to eschew becoming part of a new glamorous and idealistic vanguard searching for a solution to the world's sickness to become instead one of the expendable people in the background putting in necessary lifesaving work. I think that's a nice choice.
I'm not so much of a fan of what they've done with Isolde, but. C'est la vie, I guess. For Kakania to just be able to fix her would have destroyed the whole-ass point of their story, but some of the knife-twisting really feels excessive. I'd have preferred to see them interact instead of Bluepoch concocting some dubious brew to explain how we can never see closure between them because it would annihilate Isolde's mental state, even if this situation ends up being temporary.
It was...fine, I guess. They could have done a lot worse.

Learn to Read the Markings on Your Tyres
Many of us operate a car or travel in one every day, but very few of us actually know how our cars work. Which is fine for the most part, that’s what we have mechanics for, right? Well sort of, and it is true that for many of the big things it is absolutely vital to take your car into a trained and licenced mechanic.
However, there are a few important things you should always learn to do yourself too. Reading the markings on your tyres is one of them. Tyres are the most important part of our cars to keep maintained as they are the parts that make contact with the road and can be a deciding factor between life or death in an accident.
In fact, weak tyres contribute to an estimated 11000 crashes and 200 deaths each year in Australia; these are all completely preventable by remembering to regularly examine your tyres and figuring out how to read them.
Decoding the Tyre Matrix
The only marks that are mandatory to be shown on the sidewall of a tyre in Australia are shown below:
·         Manufacturer’s brand name or logo
·         Tyre Size, Rim Size, Series Load and Speed Rating/Symbol
·         Serial Number and date of tyre build(Week/Month/Year)
·         Construction details such as if it is tubed or tubeless, radial, and size
·         What Country it was made in
·         Number to show mould
·         Number to show Factory code
How do I know which is which?
If you look at the sidewall of your tyre, you will see a number of codes and markings. We’ll use the example C205/65 R99 10 W to break down the different parts of the tyre.
·         The very first letter will be the type of vehicle it should be used on (C=Commercial, P=Passenger, LT=Light Truck), so C is telling us this is for a commercial vehicle.
·         Next is the section width in millimetres, 205 is referring to the tyre width. 65 then in this example becomes the sidewall height as a % of the section width. Larger numbers mean a less efficient but smoother ride while smaller ones mean more efficient performance but a less comfortable ride. In this case, our 65 is the sidewall height.
·         R, standing here for “Radial Construction” will be largely universal as 98% of today’s tyres are radial construction.
·         Moving along, 99 is the load capacity of the car; the 10 is the wheel rim diameter in inches.
·         Finally, the last letter will be a speed rating, indicating at which maximum speed the tyre can carry its load according to a prescribed load index.
There you have it; now you can read tyre!

The R99 Show - great value entertainment
The R99 Show is a case study in what can be possible in the entertainment landscape in South Africa – launching at Emperors Palace on Saturday, January 27.
Why The R99 show and What is The R99 Show
#MoreFunnyLessMoney Comedy.Music.Chat.Party
Jason Goliath Multiple award-winning comedian has a personality that cannot fit into any one smaller. His comedy is energetically funny, and Jason will make you deal with the reality that your life has many more uncomfortable moments than you think. His comedy has been put to great use and because of it he is now a household name when it comes to Celebrity Comedian.
Trevor Gumbi A long-time contributor to TV, movies and comedy in South Africa, Trevor has a loveable, chaotic and edgy energy that translates into pure comedic genius. His truths about life and emotion and how it relates to every one of us is what extracts the laughter from every audience he is in front of. He has a loyal fan base and his comedy is the celebrity in this relationship.
Dave Levinsohn A veteran on SA Stand-up Comedy, Dave’s ability to find funny in absolutely everything has been his calling card for audiences the world over. This gives him the added distinction of being a host comedian that doesn’t read from the script – his improvisational comedy on stage in second to none, and as a travelling comedian he has the know-how and experience to engage any audience at any time with devastatingly funny results.
Gilli Apter Involved in film and TV for more than 7 years Gilli takes her scriptwriting experience and blends it with her comfortable and sincere onstage presence to deliver a power punch of comedy. Audiences want laughs and Gilli delivers it in spades! Her name Gilli also means joy. How very appropriate.
Alchemy Band: Will be our musical guest band for this show. They will be playing music intermittently during the show and will kick off the after party with great cover songs and jingles. Alchemy Band members are made up of a cross section of some of SA’s more well-known rock bands.
The cost of a great night out to watch live entertainment with friends can be expensive. The choices in terms of comedy and variety shows are remaining similar with line-ups, formats and pricing that reflects this samey samey notion.
The R99 Show is a case study in what can be possible in the entertainment landscape in South Africa.
Too often shows of this quality and size are prohibitively expensive, and fall under the category of just-for-profit entertainment. There is a better way. The R99 Show will deliver a quality variety show with more diverse line-ups, more entertainment value, and more value propositions at the show itself. A more unique live show format, The R99 Show will showcase an ever-changing line-up of quality live comedy, musical guests, and a chat show element to start the show and an after party to end the evening! All for just R99.
Where and When is The R99 Show.
Emperors Palace is an entertainment venue that always moves with the times and their partnership with us is crucial to make The R99 Show possible and ultimately as successful as we envisage it to be. Their contribution to this concept has been enormous. The venue where the inaugural R99 Show will be held is the newly built and wonderfully dynamic Red Roman Shed. The show will take place on Saturday 27 January 2018 at 7pm. Doors will open from 6pm so that you can enjoy the additional food and drinks market that will include craft beer, wine, champagne, gin bars and food trucks. Great quality food and drink with great value prices too.
