Teal Mask: Kieran’s desire for strength - not just becoming strong as a trainer but also as a resilient individual in general. *LONG THREAD WARNING*
Just wanted to contribute further to the teal mask content and all that juicy stuff. As we all know, we all have unfortunately witnessed a poor boy’s down-spiral character arc. It is evident that Kieran wants to attain strength to become a stronger trainer and person as a whole. He outright states that he wants to become independent, capable, and reliable at some point. His motivation and source of support - ogerpon - more so the legend version of ogerpon than the “real” ogerpon, was once a common innocent fixation that many of us probably had/have in our lives, that was then tragically turned to an unhealthy obsession. It became a poor coping mechanism and desperate means of proving himself that pushed him towards reckless methods and mannerisms.
Parallels with Loyal Three
I mentioned in the comment section of one post that his desire for power parallels with Okidogi. Additionally, he shares similar sentiments with Fez and Munki. He wants to be “cool” like the ogre (achieve a cool status that of a hero, admired for their strength) and seeks knowledge on the ways to succeed like us - he wants to know how to become stronger - “why can’t I be like you?”. This is shown through his tactics, team member swaps and appearance change at the end.
Foils with other characters
I find it sad how as Ogerpon learns to open up, heal and receives support, Kieran does not have a proper, stable one since the start - his sister has supported him in some ways of course, but her attitude/actions likely has also contributed to his sense of inferiority. Thus, the combination of misunderstanding, cultural norms, strained familial relationships, miscommunication, and self inflicted misjudgments have pushed him further down the hole. It’s almost as if he is the foil of Nemona (yet also alike) in terms of how strength as a social arbiter determines one’s worth and outlook. Nemona became so strong but at a social cost; no one wants to compete or keep up with her and misreads her passion (likewise with Kieran and his interest in history). She just wants someone to battle with with all of their efforts and enjoy the battle the same way she does, which she does not mind losing. On the other hand, if you’re weak then you would likely get made fun of or ignored, which we see Kieran has internalized that idea through his accusations of us and Carmine laughing behind his back (perhaps this is a common concept that runs in blueberry academy? Competition and becoming the best are of utmost importance). Moreover, he is, in a way, a foil of Arven in ascribing to a legend and superstition - except Arven learns to embrace support after being alone for so long, heals and accepts korai/Mirai, while Kiki feels further isolated, loses grasp of who Ogerpon really is by going against her boundaries and runs away from opportunities of support. As for Penny, it is clear that they share a reclusive nature and willingness to not conform to, but to confront social standards. Penny takes self accountability for her actions, whereas for Kieran, while he does apologize at times and keeps his word - soon gets lost in a convoluted, distorted sense of right and wrong (him stealing the teal mask, and him not wanting to join the mask retrieval mission may seem selfish at first, but it could be that he didn’t want to be a burden as well as be seen sulking). He unfortunately (would) becomes the antagonist or better yet, the oni in our path.
Peach Symbolism
On another hand, kieran may be the peach boy in a sense but reverse. His actions and desire fulfilled the required conditions for the resurrection of the loyal three (desire for “revenge”) and thus indirectly leads them to endanger Ogerpon. In one of my previous posts, I wrote a poem about how Kieran's dreams were sweet like peach, but then got crushed. And like certain fruits, it has seeds that contains some poison but not at a dangerous level (unless consumed at high amount ofc), which ties to the toxic chain and dokutaro that has been theorized to be external influences partially responsible for his behaviour.
Hero + heroic values
Finally, that one part when he says you’re like the hero of the story (that line goes hard and breaks the fourth wall, it’s been mentioned a lot in visual works on pixiv and social discourses), is a dealbreaker of his wish to keep his new friendship. Despite the portrayal of him hating the player (through memes which I do laugh at, and artworks/ discussions which I agree while sad about it) I think he is mad at us for sure, but not spiteful. Or maybe slightly. I think above all, he is mad at himself; he constantly faces inner turmoil to overcoming his helplessness, insecurity, and the process of revising his dreams and outgrowing his old ones. He had to forfeit his one childhood dream and now recognizes that he has to change in some way (albeit a bit extreme). In an ironic way, he would likely become his idealized version of strength, like "his" ogerpon - a strong “oni”- aka champion of bb academy. But again, while physical strength is a quality emphasized many times, Kieran wants to grow mentally strong to endure losses and humiliations both as a trainer and individual (ex. he is told down by his sister as seen in the beginning). He wants to be appreciated and not looked down as someone who is meek, weak and cowardly, which he tries so hard to build himself up on the virtues of a hero. He values honesty and a fair fight and tries to fulfill them to "earn" respect from people + ogerpon as a trainer. And maybe, that is when he feels that he is equal on par with you, and that he can be considered good enough to be our friend.
I really feel a lot for Kieran, because I do see myself in him (not in an obsessive way though) - hated losing, shy, hyerpfixations… I see his good traits and flaws - he is curious, sensitive, empathetic, has a critical mind of mainstream narratives but is also insecure and stubborn. I see too much simplistic takes on them (Kieran is narcissistic victim, Carmen is abusive, etc), like I get some aspects of the ideas, but saying that in a deterministic way does not define the character at all…

teal mask/indigo disc kieran theory/thoughts (SPOILERS)
earlier, i was thinking about the ending of the teal mask (with kieran's dramatic about-face from practically being in love with the mc to deciding they're his mortal enemy now), and how carmine mentions a few times how he seems to be acting out of character

she asks you if "most people act up like that" and seems troubled when you say it's abnormal, even calling it "a bit scary", seemingly at a loss and not having seen this type of behaviour before, even if he does have a "bit of an ego" as she mentioned while ruminating on this, i remembered the part in the violet book where heath mentions finding pages of notes that he doesn't remember writing, having a dream of meeting something he doesn't remember

what this says to me is that there is a possibility of some sort of possession-stuff going on with terapagos, or has happened in the past, and something similar could be happening to kieran
i wonder if the reason the loyal three were resurrected is because kieran subconsciously wished it in some way, like some sort of thought to himself where he wished to be stronger or if he could defeat them himself to earn ogerpon's trust, or hurt the pokémon that hurt her. i just find it interesting it exploded and they came back after he came near it and punched it (touching it, in that way) it seems at least, that the loyal three might have some connection to terapagos due to the descriptions under the three of them, specifically the wording of "wish", and evidently there's terastal energy and tera crystals present in kitakami so it's influence is present there

my friend also pointed out that on the signboards around kitakami depicting the folktale, there seems to be a boy with a pokéball commanding the loyal three, seemingly wearing the toxic chain the loyal three have (and they don't have them in this depiction), when in the story it's never implied they ever had a trainer or owner

this is probably reaching or tangential, but it's also interesting that he's the one with the violet/purple undercolour to his hair, the same colour as the chain (yes it's meant to parallel violet, but it could be multiple references) it wouldn't be the first time a character was intoxicated by poisons that heavily influenced their personality *coughs* lusamine *coughs* as well as sword in pokémon special via eternatus's poison in regards to him pulling his hair back at the end

Does anyone genuinly like Carmine?
If you don't like her, that's fine, but this post isn't for you.
But it's like, every time I'm on her tag, tryna look for funny, cute, interesting, etc. stuff on her it's literally people pissing on her for being a "bad sister." It's like she has flaws and layers. Because she's a complex, multifaceted character. So is Kieran. Throughout the story, you see her open up slowly while still noticing habits of her old being kept too, making it a very believable progression.
Not to mention, I don't see people going after the grandparents—or any adult figures in their life. Like where are your parents??
All in all, they both have flaws that are subtle; their stories are parallel to the ideas the people of Kitakami held with Ogrepon and the "Loyal" three. They both have complex and interesting personalities- with notable flaws, yet Carmine is usually the one I see who gets the most pissed on for hers.
So I'm asking if anyone else geuinly likes her character like I do?
#like it just makes me sad everytime i see it idk#maybe because i relate to carmine as an older sister#on another note in carmines room there seems to be a photo of her family?#i want that photo in better quality so badly#pokemon#pokemon scarlet and violet#pokemon carmine#pokemon kieran

Pokemon Horizons and SV dlc's parallels! SPOILERS FOR HORIZONS AND POKEMON SV DLC'S
Hello everyone, now that Horizons is on the verge of discovering the truth behind Lucius, behind the Woman who seems to Own Terapagos and Gibeon, I have a bit of a theory here, some parallels even to a story from Gen 9, that could really well be compared to the one Horizons might try to tell us:
The Woman that holds Terapagos, if she is truly it's former trainer and died due to a dispute between Gibeon and her friends, would thus be like Ogerpon's former trainer and Terapagos would be like Ogerpon!
Lucius, who is implied to be Liko's ancestor due to looking like him, as well as her grandmother having had a pendant containing Terapagos, he would be the Mask Maker in this story who kept the truth and thus seemingly passed down something very important to his descendants...he is a friend to that woman and Terapagos, just like how the Mask Maker was one to Ogerpon and it's deceased trainer and friend!
Gibeon, who is assumed to be the killer of that woman and being leader of an organization that used to be friends to a hero would be Pechurant here, not only have they the same derpy face, they also use a substance to gain power and lust after objects with gemstones(Laqurium and the Masks respectively). Also Pechurant was the leader of the Loyal three, it's henchmen, which fits with Gibeon being a leader as well to the Explorers, his own version of the Loyal 3, but in greater numbers than the trio. Yeah the weakest comparison, since Lucius and his friends other than the explorers are remembered as heroes, Ogerpon was remembered as monster and the mask maker nearly as a heretic for telling the truth!
So that means:
Diana = Yukito, Grandparents with knowledge of the story of their ancestor (even if Diana probably doesn't know) and of a legendary Pokémon tied to them. Also their first Pokémon are Arcanine and Arbok respectively, one is red/scarlet and the other purple/violet, mirroring the games and each other as counterparts. Yukito's Wheezing also exists, but it is not based on any animal and airborne, and thus can be easier compared to with Squawkabilly, a normal/flying type. So I go with Arcanine and Arbok here respectively for now.
Liko = Kieran: Descendant of a hero and want to bond with the legendary Pokémon in question (does that mean that Kieran is not in Horizons, because Liko is his counterpart?). Also they have a Cat Starter (Floragato/Incineroar), two Galar mon that are direct counterparts to one another and fight defensively to mitigate damage (Hattrem/Grimmsnarl), their hair has colored underlines (Blue and Purple, when combined, it is Indigo), and finally want to get closer to a Legendary Pokemon(Terapagos/Ogerpon) important to their family's history, and are highly sensitive and empathic with Pokémon (yes Kieran had a dark phase, but he is usually a sensible boy, even by his Grandpa's admission, hence why Kieran knew deep down the truth of Ogerpon).
For Carmine, we have either Lucca as female family figure that takes care of the hero, or we have Amethio, an older teenager that serves as obstacle to the heroes's goals of being friends with the Legendary Pokémon. The comparison with Lucca is right now not interesting enough to mention here, so I go here with a comparison between Amethio and Carmine.
Amethio Carmine, who like her, has an ace that has a secondary Ghost type (Ceruledge/Poltchageist-Sinistcha), who were born from the regrets of a person who failed in their mission. Similiarly to Liko's and Kieran's Cat Starters as well, Amethio's and Carmine's aces have primary Fire type and Grass type respectively, so that checks it out. Also they each have a Galar mon that also look rather dark (Corviknight/Morpeko, especially it's hungry form).
I think I cracked a code, or this is the best coincidence ever, tell me what everyone thinks about it?

Spoilers for The Untold Story of Pecharunt
I just now watched that new short about Pecharunt. Man, who would've thought a thirst for more love and admiration was the little guy's motive? I thought he was just driven by greed.
In hindsight, I see a parallel between that and the old couple's request for the shining masks (after eating the toxic mochi, of course). Pecharunt wanted their love as much as they wanted the illustrious masks. It was a completely shallow desire based solely on external validation (a powerful poison of the mind and spirit). It failed to see that it was enough just the way it was, that it didn't need to go above and beyond to be more loved. The old couple would have loved it to bits anyway, but through desperation it drew out a terrible greed from them believing that love was based on material possessions. That in order to be loved you had to do things for others.
How do I know this?
I've been there myself, albeit not to that degree.
I've struggled with self worth for a good chunk of my life. I felt like my needs were irrelevant no matter how loved I was. I felt that my worth lied only in what I could do for others. Thankfully, I've been working on that and I've never been happier putting my needs first. It's still kind of there, but compared to how it was earlier, it's infinitely better.
One last thing, let's not forget that Ogerpon really kicks ass! She's a Grass-type taking on three Poison-types at the same time! That Ivy Cudgel's no joke.
Actually, the more I think about it, the more it hurts to realize how she was a victim in all this (and the Loyal Three, too). She and her human partner were caught up in Pecharunt's pursuit for what it thinks love is and had their lives destroyed as a result. Poor girl! This only goes to show how destructive power of blind obsession can be, and how unfair life can be (though we all knew that already XP).
Remember Carmine and Kieran's grandpa telling the true story of Ogerpon? How he said three greedy Pokémon stole her masks? He never mentioned Pecharunt. It wasn't his fault since he never heard of the little guy, or learned the real reason for the thefts. Just because someone knows the full story doesn't mean they have all the facts.
Anyway, that's all I have to say about the short. It was really nice and the traditional Japanese watercolor style is a super cool touch. Hopefully I didn't get anything wrong, though if I did, feel free to let me know and I'll correct it.

finished the teal mask and oh boy do i have thoughts…
(SPOILERS FOR THE NEW DLC IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS PLS DO NOT READ)

god. kieran. kieran is so refreshing from a character perspective. kieran is like the anti-hop. it kind of feels like he’s the protagonist and we’re the classic jerk rival, doesn’t it? this guy clearly has Issues and i really like that, im enjoying this sort of “why can’t i beat you” rival trope that gamefreak’s been doing lately. they nearly did it with hop but with kieran they’re really going full in. the character arc that kieran went through in this dlc was actually difficult for me to watch, seeing this poor boy destroy himself mentally. the first time i battled him for the final time i actually lost, and i was hoping that he would get to keep ogerpon because altho shes cute and i adore her, i felt so bad. but ofc thats not the way the cookie crumbles. kieran is socially awkward, he doesn’t know how to communicate, and he’s never had a true friend. then florian/juliana comes along and suddenly there’s someone who seems to genuinely enjoy hanging out with him that isn’t, yknow, related to him. but then that person that he was so eager to trust goes along and begins befriending and helping a pokemon that hes adored all your life behind his back. i relate to kieran a lot and ofc yknow the absolute maniac arc hes about to go through is probably not healthy but i rlly hope this ends up being good for him. he idolized ogerpon because of how he related to her story, not because of the actual living creature she is. i wouldnt be surprised if it turns out he doesnt value his pokemon as actual living creatures either. i could see him being like a reverse silver, as he grows colder growing to not even care about his pokemon.

on the other hand, carmine! carmine was such a delight, i was genuinely not expecting to enjoy her as much as i did. sure, she also has Issues and has probably been a negative effect on her brother, but at the end of the day she is also just a kid. she probably has no idea what shes doing, and i dont think shed ever hurt kieran. she went through a lot of growth in the dlc and i can see her trying to become a better person with the help of florian/juliana and repairing her odd relationship with kieran.
also, it seems like she kind of has to play a parental role for kieran, as its implied that their parents arent around. thats another thing that separates kieran and carmine from siblings like hop and leon (and oh my god im just realizing all the parallels between hop and leon and kieran and carmine). its implied that the galar bros had a good childhood, and hops Issues dont start until hes set off on his journey and leon is a full adult with an actual life. with the kitakami siblings, if you read between the lines you can tell that theyve had a harder time growing up. with carmines comments on tourism and how it’s negatively effected their town and give her Trust Issues, that obviously fucked them both up a little, seeing that people only valued their hometown as an attraction, and that they themselves were a part of that attraction. and of course we dont know what the issue was with their parents. also, why are they going to school in unova? (side not oh my god it is so obvious that we’re going to get bw remakes in gen 9 or a legends unova game)
kitakami is such an interesting region. obviously its tiny, it has one town and then everything else is just untamed land. i feel like something Else is going on here. or maybe its just small idk

i love ogerpon a lot i think shes adorable and i love that we got to run around with her before she joined our team and it makes the whole “ten year old catches legendary thing” feel more realistic
also why are ogerpon and the loyal three legendaries i feel like they should be mythicals them being legendary feels Wrong
anyways these were my silly thoughts on the dlc and i hope kieran turns out to be the bb leagues champion (pulling a blue) and also i dont trust briar now time to finish my pokedex and talk to legends arceus pandering i mean perrin and if i see anyone call carmine a terrible person i will trade away your ev trained competitive team ok bye

(also this scene made me emotional)

I’mma explian a lot of sibling dynamics (aka me info dumping about Kieran, Carmine, Stanley, Stanford, Eda, and Lilith and their parallels to each other) will contain spoilers for Pokemon SV The Teal Mask & The Indigo Disk )and Mochi M, Gravity Falls, and The Owl House.
Lilith, Stan and Kieran
All three have something in common, and that being desperation.
Lilith curses her sister, Eda, with the Owl Beast curse.
Stan (accidentally) broke Ford’s project that could have gotten him in the fancy college.
Kieran steals the Teal Mask out of desperation to not be seen as a weak person.
How do their siblings react? One word, mad.
Carmine, Kieran’s sister, asks him madly, “What are you doing, Kiki?!” While this may look like a simple sibling argument, it is not. Carmine and the player lie to him about Ogerpon, Kieran’s idol. He only finds out about Ogerpon (and her real story [another whole story sometime I’ll ramble about]) by overhearing the conversation behind the gates of their house. And the worst part? You are forced to lie to him. Carmine doesn’t tell him nor plans to (not a Carmine hate post btw) because she only wanted to protect Kieran. If, according to her, they tell Kieran about the fact that they saw the ogre, he’ll head into Oni Mountain just to see Ogerpon. Which leads to Kieran’s desperate decision at the Loyalty Plaza.
Now, let’s look at this from Kieran’s perspective. You, his only real friend aside from Carmine, tells you about how he idolizes Ogerpon. Hell, he brings the player to Oni Mountain just to show you where Ogerpon lives. Then later that night, your friend sees said ogre. Of course when Carmine shuts the player up, it doesn’t help his already poor self esteem. Then the next day, you hear that the ogre that you idolize was a victim, even worse, your friend lies to you when you meet up with them. Then the next day, your sister snags your friend and goes off to the mountain. (How would you feel?)That was it. Kieran decides to steal the mask just to get answers out of his secretive sister and friend. Kieran then confronts them both about the truth. After he challenges the player, ultimately losing, he goes on in a full breakdown, punching the shrine out of anger, leaves the mask with player. The next time the player battles him, it was to prove himself to Ogerpon, that he could be a better partner to her. Obviously, he loses. After the battle (with Ogerpon), his parting words were “Why? Why can’t I be like you?” Then he runs off. Kieran did this just so he coul be with Ogerpon, regardless of her choice. But during the Loyal Three hunt, he had a choice to go, and he refused. Speaking of decisions, let’s head to Lilith.
In “Young Blood, Old Souls” Lilith states this during her duel with Eda, “Then why were you so easy to curse?!” Then immediately regrets letting it out. Luz and Eda are shocked by this. Just like Kieran, she chose to follow through with her idea to ensure her path to the Emperor’s Coven. She had a choice, whether she would do it or not. And she chose to curse Eda. And this curse not only ruined one relationship (Lilith and Eda’s sibling relationship), it ruined two (with Stan and Raine). So it justified that Eda is mad. It was never the beast’s fault. I mean why would you blame the Owl Beast if it was the one trapped? It didn’t choose Eda. Lilith was the one who did it. And honestly to me? She got off a bit lightly than Kieran or Stanley.
And now, Stanley. Like I said earlier, desperation led Stan to break his brother’s chance to be successful. Kind of like Lilith, but what drove him to that decision was fear of being left behind and jealousy, which also is like Kieran who was always never praised, Carmine always says ‘just as strong as me’ never ‘better than me’ and this always happens with Stan, who is constantly being compared with Ford. Ford is smart, per se, but Stan is also smart in his own way. No one just tells him that directly. After meeting up with Ford in years, losing him immediately afterwards, he put together the portal, with only a third of the blueprints. And when Ford returns, the first thing he does is punch Stan in the face. Ouch. You spend thirty years to bring your twin back and he still has a grudge on what you’ve done years ago.
And this is what I meant by Lilith getting off the hook more lightly than than the other two. She lost a large amount of magic sure, but the other two had almost lost their lives and along with others. In The Indigo Disk, Kieran’s desperation to be stronger (getting Terapagos) almost kills them all in the Underdepths (and Briar was so goddamn unhelpful by encouraging Kieran instead of stopping him). Stanley took a risk and opened the portal (could’ve started Weirdmaggedon) to bring Ford back.
Eda, Ford and Carmine
All three may look like they don’t care about their siblings from outside perspective but inside, they really do. But they don’t know how far they need go just to be adequate enough for their siblings.
Eda and Carmine’s growth are a full on growth. Unlike Ford, who was forced to confront his own problems and mistakes, these two took it head on.
In “Eda’s Requiem” she wanted to run away because she was worried about King leaving. But Raine pushed her to the choice she ultimately made and was surprised by the decision King made: to be adopted by her. She could’ve helped Raine escape from Darius and Eberwolf, but she didn’t and instead heeded and respected Raine’s (which was actually her own) advice. To go and face her fear directly, fear of being alone.
Carmine, when player meets her again, has completely changed. She’s more sweet and nicer than when you first met her in The Teal Mask. And she’s nicer with Ogerpon too. Of course the snark will not go, but all in all she’s grown. And this is proven by the invitation to go to the Underdepths of Area Zero. She explicitly shows worry for Kieran when he wants go without a doubt. She only comes because she’s worried for Kieran and his health. And during the Terapagos fight, she is genuinely worried about Kieran because he won’t battle. And Carmine is willing to go far just for her brother, she’s the one whom is player’s first teammate in the fight. Kieran doesn’t go in immediately because guilt had crept in to his heart. Guilt that he nearly killed everyone. And once again, Briar is not helping him. She didn’t even mind what exactly was Kieran saying while struggling to pull out the sleeping Terapagos.
Stanford Pines is like Kieran in a way, he summons Bill Cipher because he hit a roadblock in his research. Kieran, quite obviously, didn’t sleep or eat during his rise to become stronger after feeling betrayed. And when Bill betrays Ford, he becomes a lot paranoid. He almost shot Stanley when he arrived at his home. Going so far to check his eyes for Bill’s possession. Betrayal can change a person for the worse. Kieran becomes more aggressive and impulsive, while Ford becomes paranoid and untrusting. But unlike Kieran, this changes carried on for years. Ford doesn’t even thank or acknowledge Stan, for Titan’s sake. “Dungeons, Dungeons, and more Dungeons” episode basically bullies Stan for not being smart. But I want to get this point across, STANLEY PINES IS SMART. He’s just neglected over Ford.
Parallels
Kieran and Ford
Was betrayed by someone they thought a friend
Got worse but eventually got better
Trying their best to make it up to everyone they hurt (Ford and Stan living the dream, and Kieran goes off to Kitakami with Carmine to heal)

thinking about the teal mask dlc, I probably should try to make a proper post about this with citations and stuff, but i'm too lazy rn:
spoilers
People have pointed out parallels between Kieran and the Loyal Three, he stole Ogrepon's mask, he's heard about her and covets her, like how the Three coveted that masks, and there's a blurring effect when he's taken the mask to the Loyalty Plaza, etc.
So I also think there are parallels between Carmine and Ogrepon. Initially fearsome, she is in fact loyal and protective of those she loves and has a strong sense of justice. A lot of her bad behavior is the result of bad communication skills.

I’m sure people already pointed out the parallels between Volo and Kieran, which are pretty uncanny, but I wanted to further expand on that.
Both believed in legendary/mythical beings of their respective culture, and eventually grew obsessive with them.
They were keen to find the truth and which consequently triggered a major event that summoned antagonistic entities (aka giratina and Loyal Three).
They each sought power, but in their own ways - Volo was bent on domination and world erasure while Kieran wanted strength to prove himself but in a misdirected way.
What makes their parallels even more evident is that these two share extensive knowledge on the lore with us because of their lineages that had ties with the legendary/mythical Pokémon.
Additionally, Volo and Kieran project their perceived image onto the pokemon especially because of their past. They depended on these pokemon as sources of comfort, as answers to the reason the way things are, and as figures of admiration they wanted to emulate.
Last but not least they are strong, and after fighting them, they give you an important item that gives you a direct contact/connection with the pokemon lol
I like how we have someone who devoted most of their life to pursue a mythical being and a kid who idolizes a misunderstood being and relates to it but then takes it up a notch beyond "normal".
#pokemon dlc#pokemon sv#the teal mask#pokemon kieran#rival kieran#volo#pokemon scarlet and violet#pokemon wielder volo#this is the first time I talked about volo in a long time#i think that kieran still has time for redemption but at the same time I think he's gonna keep spiraling downwards. both ideas are cool#ac rambles#gosh there is just something about these characters that make me sympathize with them#but also see how their actions do not correlate with their sense of morals.

No regrets on the long road: John Kennedy on coaching at Celtic
It is sobering to think that next year will mark the 20th anniversary of John Kennedy's debut for Celtic.
In a parallel universe, one in which Romanian Ioan Ganea had not been drained
At the age of 35 he is a full 10 months younger than the party of the Scottish Premiership ship in January with the signing of Jermain Defoe.
On the night of his last appearance for the club in 2007, Scott Brown, still strong and the recipient of a new two-year contract, amidst his teammates.
Still, while Brown continues to propel the team from the central midfield,
He can eventually end up in management, but with the blessing of Peterhead, director of Parkhead, I have a wide range of experiences gathered since he announced his retirement in 2009 after three knees. operations and two abortive comebacks.
Even now he will then jump forward to address his request about Rodgers' request, but the training field remains the place of his true calling. During a break in preparation for Celtic's Europa League draw in Valencia in the middle of the week, Kennedy sat down to discuss his career path so far – and where it eventually led.
& # 39; When I finished playing, I quickly made up my
& # 39; Initially I went to recruitment and that was an eye-opener for me in terms of analysis of the opposition and then the type of players that we would like to sign.
& # 39; It was an experience that showed me the attention needed for detail at Celtic. You can not miss anything.
& # 39; I still stay in when time permits but I always wanted to coach. It was a long journey, but I got my badges and worked through the academy teams and in the first team. & # 39;
& # 39; At Celtic you have to win if you are too tight in the competition or if you lose to Rangers, you have to get up and stay strong, & Kennedy reflects. Ronny did his best, but in the end the club decided to change it.
& # 39; However, it was an important phase, the Ronny showed faith in young players. I remember that as soon as I saw Kieran Tierney train, I wanted to involve him in the first team.
& # 39; It is the same with Callum McGregor. He saw the quality there. When Brendan came in, the two could flourish. & # 39;
Rodgers brought back a rather extensive back room staff with a long-term relationship with the manager, who worked for two years under Deila and Lahrell's approval, Chris Davies
& # 39; The manager has a lot of pressure on his shoulders and it is important that Chris and I take something from him, "argues Kennedy.
& # 39; He will have his own way to deal with a. & # 39;
& # 39; He will have his own way to deal with or he can dampen the excitement if we win. It is about keeping people quiet and concentrating on the work.
& # 39; He treats everyone with respect, he is the type of man you walk through the training ground, everyone wants to work for him.
& # 39; The last two and a half seasons have brought a lot of moments that will stay with me for the rest of my life. These moments in time are few and far between and it all comes down to preparing the manager. & # 39;
In the summer of 2007, the renowned knee surgeon in the US met Richard Steadman Sportsmail at his clinic in Vail, Colorado and Kennedy declared Kennedy the bravest sportsman I have ever encountered.
Only one week before his solemn, fateful, international appearance. [Bewerken] External links [bewerken] External links Wikipedia Wikipedia has an article about: Kilmarnock Wikipedia article: Map with all locations mentioned on Wikipedia article:, Kennedy had helped the team of Martin O & # 39; Neill to exclude Barcelona in the Nou Camp, a result that stands for Celtic's last success in a European knockout draw.
His composed defense would return to the continental stage under Gordon Strachan but his knee was replaced by a Champions League meeting against Shakhtar Donetsk. He never played for Celtic again.
& # 39; The selfish side of me felt: & # 39; Let's go and have another fight & # 39; but it would not have been good for me, "he reflects.
& # 39; The surgeon took the decision out of my hands and it actually came as a relief. It gave me a new focus and a desire to dive into something else. I have always had ambitions to reach the top, I was just on a different path now. & # 39;
& # 39; I've tried to get as much as possible from every role and every person I've worked with in any department, "he says. & # 39; The recruitment work enabled me to network and meet a few good people.
& # 39; There were nice experiences where you would see some very good players, but also a few naughty ones. I remember watching Fenerbahce before Ronny before playing in the Europa League.
& # 39; They were on their way to Besiktas, a derby of Istanbul, a hostile environment. On the way I saw three or four fights and before I knew it I was in the middle of a gang of boys with smoke bombs and all kinds of things.
& # 39; After 70 minutes I was gone. & # 39; And yet it is not the nature of Kennedy to run away. He is loyal to Celtic and indeed to Rodgers.
& # 39; I am really enjoying working with Brendan and I would not change anything at this moment, "he adds. thinking management would be the goal at some point, but if you do something good, it is important that you recognize it.
& # 39; There will come a time when I have to make a decision in one way or another, have to make a change, that can come but for the In the near future I see myself here, with Brendan who tries to be successful. "
