Spencer getting a makeover. I'm talking him getting his nails done, makeup done, hair done with multiple ponytails made by his daughter
“Daddy stay still, you’re ruining the makeup.” Georgia stomps her foot and Spencer raises an eyebrow and she smiles bashfully, tucking her chin to her chest.
“You’re bossy today,” Spencer says softly, watching Georgia flush and pick up a hair tie. “Remember,”
She cuts him off, “Don’t pull too hard, daddy gets headaches.”
Spencer smiles, letting himself relax as her fingers comb through his curls gently. It reminds him of when you wash his hair, all tender touches that proclaim all the love you can’t find the words to confess.
“Daddy can I do two ponytails?” Spencer nods, to deny her would hurt his heart. She doesn’t even have to do those puppy dog eyes you’d shown her.
“You know,” Georgia starts, a thoughtfulness to her tone. At seven, Spencer finds that she’s very empathetic and it makes him smile because he knows you’re both doing a good job.
“Some kids don’t have dads to play dress up with.” Spencer hums.
“That’s true, but I’m sure they have other people in their lives they can play dress up with.”
Georgia nods though he can’t see. “Some of my friends have two moms instead of a mom and dad, which means double dresses!”
Spencer laughs. “That’s true, Peach.” Her fingers get caught in a snag of hair and she kisses Spencer’s head in apology for the tugging.
“I’m glad you’re my dad.” Spencer’s throat feels impossibly tight. This conversation feels a bit too heavy for a weekly ‘pamper’ night.
“I’m glad you’re my daughter.” Georgia kisses Spencer’s cheek, a comfortable silence taking over the room.
“Daddy, can we have the gooey chocolate cake for dessert?”
Spencer thinks back to the books about children and how their minds wander and he wants to laugh at the sudden switch in conversation and the way the heaviness has dissipated.
“We can baby. I’ll ask mom to help me bake it this time.”
Georgia cheers, “Last time mommy said it was a disaster!” She finishes her last tie on his hair. “All done, now we get to choose something fancy to wear! And heels! You promised last time.”

90% of the discourse on s3 is people who don’t like & don’t want to understand the trope, Colin & Pen bc I have seen the wildest takes
Pen & Colin were never friends.
Like what do you mean they aren’t friends. I think some of y’all forgot that this is the Regency era and men and women were not just allowed to hang out but Colin devotes time to writing to Pen, checking in on her and admits in episode 3.01 that he seeks her out bc he enjoys her intelligence and the way she sees the world. He takes the time to look after her family & is literally the only person I’ve ever seen defend her from Cressida. They spend so much time together that he’s seen as courting her at the end of s2 but I guess that’s not friendship.
It was too fast. We didn’t see Colin fall in love.
The entire point of this trope is that it’s so slow in subtle. The show chose to deepen their friendship and show it to us throughout the seasons leading up to s3 so we can see the subtle moments over the years where Colin starts to fall in love. There is no big moment bc like in the books it’s an accumulation of small moments until one day he gets it. It’s the way at the end of s1 when he’s made to feel foolish over his ruined engagement she tells him he was brave for following his heart. It’s in the way he chooses to write to her. In s2 It’s in the way he admits that even if he’s not ready to open his heart to the other ladies he could never shut her out (I will never understand why people see this as a rejection). Like there are so many moments of them growing closer and then when she pulls it all away after s2 he feels adrift and does whatever he can to make it right bc she matters to him. Hes been falling for years you just need to remove yourself from Penelope’s pov to see it

So You’ve Fled Worse Websites For This One And Wish To Make A Hellsite A Hellhome
Just a friendly reminder that on this godforsaken website you can and should do the following few things that involve going into your settings:
1: Under Dashboard, disable Best Stuff First, Include Stuff In Your Orbit and Based On Your Likes. The former ruins the how the timeline works here, the middle violates the sanctity of anonymity if people you follow don’t want you to see their likes, the latter is a crapshoot and annoying and inaccurate because the likes algorithm is fucked.
2: Under Account, turn off letting people finding your blog through your email address, your email should not be just out there like that.
3: Under Notifications, turn off news because nobody knows what the hell is popular or gaining traction at any given moment. Posts from 6 years ago will randomly gain a resurgence of popularity for no good reason. Also just turn off the stuff that gives you immediate info about notes or updates or notices it’s just so fucking annoying and useless.
Under Appearance, you can choose to make who you follow private and what you’ve Liked private. I recommend doing both of those things. The old days of dumbass slapfights and following discourse are long gone but not yet over. Defend your mental health by just not letting folks know what you’re following or what you like, do what the Bird Site never ever let you do. From here you can also choose to turn anonymous asks off and that’s a good way to learn who you need to block if they’re being a shit to you, which to that I say block early and block often.
This website is different than the Bird Site in that 1: it will not tell you who to follow and 2: Likes do nothing, Reblogs are what matters. Likes are nice but Reblogs keep the blood pumping and posts/works by artists circulating. You can even choose to reblog your own stuff. This site is a massive sea of islands that have boats parked around them and bridges between them. There are, regrettably, Nazis and TERFs and tradcaths on this site. I have never seen them except for when they decide to pick fights with people I follow. You should also make it abundantly clear those people are not welcome to interact with you. You can threaten them with death here. It tends to work. Tell the fascists to die, recirculate the blood of content, treat this site well and keep it healthy and it will keep your mind healthy in turn.
This site allows a shocking amount of anonymity in the modern age. You don’t have to share personal information if you don’t want to. I don’t recommend you do. People can and have used DNI criteria and trigger/content warnings to dunk on people or upset them. Keep yourself and your data safe, you don’t have to have a carrd in your header or a list of kinks or a laundry list of things you believe in. Keep strangers at an arm’s length and moderate what you tell other people about yourself. I know this used to be the internet’s #1 naked picture dump and so many people courted parasocial relationships with folks here. Those times have changed. Don’t be weird and don’t let people be weird to you based on what they know about you.
By many standards on this website, I am an old-timer, even though I’ve been here steadily since 2015 with an initial reg date of 2013. I know the old stories, of the Oncelor, of Dashcon, the Kickstarter scams, the doxxing. I only qualify as an old-timer due to the fact that I stayed through the porn ban of 2018 and kept circulating content. This site...it’s not good, but it is what you make of it. Curate your content, even though the tagging system doesn’t work. Find what you like, even though the search function sucks ass. If you’re here for popularity you generally won’t find it because the algorithm straight up does not work, but also if you were forged in the fires of the Bird Site you likely knew this would not be the case. My advice is to find a handful of people who provide a feed like I do and if any specific names you see a lot interest you, skim their own blogs, follow them if you like, let your network spread, never be afraid to prune who you follow. Also your follower count doesn’t mean shit, it doesn’t really dictate who can see what you’re putting out there, your marketing and self-promotion is more or less tied 1:1 to using the tag system and your own hustle.
My other advice is to be as queer as you want, support queer people, and most importantly to tell the fascists to die as creatively as you’d like.

I don’t actually think it took Stede so long to know he loved Ed because he hadn’t had a crush before. I think (though this is one of those things that could be read either way, and is great either way) he’s wildly aware of his crush. Possibly from step one, certainly by the time he spends the night obsessing out the window at Ed and Calico Jack (who’s confirmed at last that Ed definitely swings that way). He says “It’s over,” and he knows what that means. The problem isn’t that he doesn’t know he’s in it, the problem is he doesn’t know he’s allowed to believe it’s love.
Ed comes from a very queer, very uninhibited culture (and this is historical) where pirates enter matelotage with each other and (as Jack says) “anything goes.” Stede comes from the mainland, where queer men are prosecuted and destroyed, where he’s been tortured and shunned for his softness from childhood, and where people like him don’t get to choose love, anyway. His dad made that clear from the beginning.
He might know his queerness is attractive to Ed, but does he realize it’s something sacred to him? Something that could be loved, and committed to? And does he know that out on the water he’s not just free to kiss Ed, but to choose him forever?
He thinks Ed being tied to him, softened by him, is shameful, disreputable and life-ruining, for his family and for Ed, so he goes home. He thinks he’s hurting everyone and helping no one by choosing his heart; he thinks everyone will be relieved he’s back in his proper place, back in the real world; but nobody is. The men envy him his moment of freedom, and Mary doesn’t need his stability or his decency. Mary’s found something better. Mary’s choice would have been considered shameful and unstable in her time, too—unwed, unblessed by her parents, freely entered—but she’s not ashamed; she’s glad. She’s free. And she has the temerity to say it’s love. That’s all Stede needs to see. Ed let him know they could live together, but I think Mary’s joy helped him see they could call it love too.

a comprehensive list of all things sus about Adrian Graye
ok so i have been slightly obsessed with the illusion coven head since his introduction in hunting palisman, but now that we’ve had an episode with him as an actual character there are some things about him that feel super suspicious and i’m going to try my best to explain them here
1:Despite being the head of the illusion coven, We never actually see him cast any illusions.
When we’re first introduced to him when he tries to trick the school into joining coven he mentions that the illusion of him was cast by a different coven scout
“Tom, that Adrian illusion was lacking a certain, hmm? You get me?”
and given his need to yell for the illusion to end rather than just stopping it himself, we can assume that he wasn’t in control of the illusion in that scene.
We can probably apply this logic to his later scene with the fake willow and Belos - as we’ve seen in the past that illusions need a constant focus when cast by a witch, and he seemed a bit too concentrated on bullying his actors and kicking hunter in the back of the head to be casting anything.
Him snapping his fingers and the Belos illusion vanishing could either be read as him dispelling the illusion or calling of the two Guards behind it, but given the lack of evidence towards the spell belonging to him, im choosing to believe the latter.
this leads us onto the next few points:
2: He casts spells without drawing a circle and
3: the only two times he draws a spell circle, he does so while holding/using his magical amplifier
in his first scene after Gus calls out the fake Adrian, we see him hand off his coffee cup and then in a poof of smoke - appears next to and grabs Gus. you cant touch illusions, so neither of those were fake, which means that, without drawing a spell circle he’s teleported across the room.
We only see him draw a spell circle twice in the entire episode, the first time he literally uses the magical amplifier to draw it, and the second time he’s holding it.
now these first three points could just be explained by saying “oh he’s the coven head he’s super powerful at illusions he probably doesn't need to concentrate or draw circles or whatever” but then even ignoring all that there’s -
4: this man is waaay to focused on the looking glass ruins
Graye was sent to Hexside by Belos to brand the children, but the moment the illusion stuff kicks off and he sees the looking glass ruins he abandons that plan to hunt down gus and figure out where the graveyard is. His reasoning is that the galderstones would be good gifts for belos, but are they worth abandoning his mission for?
the reasoning could just be that he’s figured that the branding mission was a bust and hes in the panic of ‘i need to please my boss so he doesn’t kill me for failing so bad’ and wants to make it up for him, but then why does he seem to be happier when he sees that the galderstones are intangible
either way - this is not the face of a super confident person who has everything under control
The looking glass ruins have come up a few times now in relation to the EC, and based on how good TOH is at setting up plot lines - it feels like they’re building it up to be more important than it seems.
then of course theres the one that a bunch of people are talking about
4: He got his ass handed to him by Gus’ memory bubble
that shit fully incapacitated him, like he was still knocked out , fully catatonic later on, like - not even hunter got knocked down by this and he’s gone through some shit - and Graye’s comments about bad memories feel way to prominent to just be a passing comment.
Theres been a fun trend of all the coven heads being ironic in some way , a bard with stage fright, a plant head who loves killing ect; so having an illusionist who’s been lying about something to get where he is today could be really fun
so whats up with this guy? lets figure it out-
yeah he’s a basilisk
- similar fangs, tail and :3 face
- similar hair styles
- same blue teleportation magic
- including the inspector from the first day we’ve only seen 4 of the 5 basilisks
- Basilisk number 4 even has the same hair squiggle as Graye
theres kinda just a weird amount of evidence supporting this theory, it’s probably not true, and if it is, probably wont have a lot of plot relevance, but i cant help but think theres something else going on with this guy. He’s the only coven head who’s showed up by himself in an episode so far, and there’s just a lot of details and potentially foreshadowing stuff happening around him.
this ended up being way longer than i planned so kudos on reading all the way through
