SURPRISE SECOND ASK TIME! for your sb writing, what are some of the behind-the-scenes or hidden elements that you're proudest of?? (Could be continuity between works, a headcanon or personal take that impacts them in your mind but doesn't directly show up in the writing, etc. etc.)

uh oh we're tempting me with english major things again.

but i think a big thing honestly? that i don't know how much i'll ever really touch on is porter's background. in my head i have such a clear mental image of him and i'd like to think it shows between sugar on your tongue and epilogue.

i have the porter pov fic coming up that... might? show the connection a bit more just out of necessity of writing the inside of porter's mind (i hate it in there btw. he's so physical and my writing style is... not.)

but beside that... i have a temperature thing for jace. i feel like i might be beating everyone over the head with it in epilogue but he's cold. like in every meaning of the word. and that's going to come up more in epilogue!! so i'm excited to play with that more.

also... jace being as bad as porter.

i think epilogue is really hard to showcase just how awful of a person i see jace as being since we're biased! we're seeing his pov but in the ruben scene i actually had so much trouble with it because i was adding in these little details hoping that they'll be enough to showcase how jace (even to us! even to the audience!) is showing his best side. even when he's alone he's almost performing.

he's showing that he is such a wounded party. he lost the love of his life his god! he's being forced into trying to be good by a goddess who doesn't care about him! we don't need to examine his actions more than that, right? we can just believe him, yea?

but. well. we're getting there. :)
