Roier is so "Don't go where I can't follow" coded. That's why Roier is going to be mad at Cellbit, not because he stayed; he will understand why, after all he had a son too and he is Richas' dad too. What is going to make him mad is that Cellbit gave him no choice or head ups; only a goodbye. Roier would have jumped out the boat in a heartbeat and looked for him, ran like the fucking wind through the little time and distance left, but of course Cellbit wanted him to be saved, free of purgatory. But in the end, Roier had to (once again) see the people he loves die while he survives, when what he really wants is to be with them.

(ALL GOOD >:D)
Roier! I've already talked a bit about him before, so I'm gonna give you him and Cellbit meeting—because, really, the two are kind of co-protagonists, it's just that it's written from Roier's pov.
One day, one typical boring paperwork-filled day, the police force hires this newcomer: this...quiet, sort-of-asshole. Cellbit is an investigator—or, so he says, but Roier is convinced there's something more to it than that. There's something...fishy about him. And Roier likes fishy.
So he noses about, tailing the guy as best he can. Somehow, he manages to keep what he's doing a secret—god only knows how; he really thought the other man would've noticed by this point. He follows him around on a bunch of boring research projects, but nothing actually that interesting.
Then, one night, he tails him to a building. This house on the edge of the inner city, one that seems pretty run-down, as if it's been abandoned for years. They get inside, and there's blood everywhere and a dead body in the middle of the room, and Roier steps out to confront Cellbit on what the hell is he doing—?
When the body suddenly comes back to life.
It's everything Roier can do to scramble back and away from the thing; Cellbit has to deal with the creature, a few quick slashes with his knife—he carries a knife, how has Roier not noticed that by now?—seem to do the trick. After the body has been taken care of, Cellbit practically begs Roier not to tell anyone what's going on, which, of course, goes against pretty much every single one of Roier's codes.
...but, then again, something tells him that no one would believe him, anyway. He had tried to tell people what was happening with Bobby, and no one had listened to him then—why would they listen now? So he agrees. The LED implanted on the side of his forehead flashes a quick red as he warns Cellbit: on one condition only. Cellbit has to let him help with whatever it is he's working on.
...Cellbit reluctantly agrees.
