Su Yu, can you ever say something nice? I'm afraid if I say something nice, I'll move you to tears. STAY WITH ME Episode 13

Stay With Me didn't let us down! 😭 We got kisses and a confession. There is no way anyone can say it's not a BL now. 🙄 Not that there was any doubt even before that. The subtext was just too obvious.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't believe they went there. Super sleuths have already found that it really is just lip balm, but the implication is clearly that Wu Bi's dad found his lube. Wu Bi why did you do your dad dirty like that? Don't smear your lube on his mouth! 🤣
Tumblr media
Wu Bi was about to confess but he chickened out. 😅 Shy Wu Bi is so cute. Wu Bi really can't live without Su Yu. He had never been that bitchy and rude to Mo Yi before, but now there's someone at home he wants to be with and has no time for Mo Yi's shit.
Tumblr media
First almost caught by Wu Bi's dad and now Mao Chong. Su Yu's nervous shifty eyes cracked me up. We all know he and Wu Bi have been doing something something in his room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are so happy to see each other!😭Their smiles. Really, I can't. I love how much they love each other. I could not stop smiling watching them hug.
Tumblr media
Oh how I squealed. THEY ARE SO FRIGGIN CUTE!!! AHHHHHHH! This might literally be my favorite moment in the entire series.
Tumblr media
"Go cough somewhere else" lol. Poor Mo Yi. Right in front of his salad.
Tumblr media
Su Yu's little smile is EVERYTHING. I feel like we're missing a scene before this though. It just seems a bit out of place that Wu Bi would run up to kiss Su Yu at school and for Su Yu to not be surprised or embarrassed. I'm counting on that uncut release later. Actually I felt like the editing for these two eps was a bit choppy. I'm going to guess it's because they cut a bunch of stuff because it was too gay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love all the subtle ways they show us they're boyfriends. Su Yu casually using Wu Bi as a leg rest, Wu Bi teasing Su Yu about him not knowing he's Wu Bi's most important person, Su Yu taking care of Wu Bi, and Wu Bi making not so subtle hints about their relationship in front of everyone. Why always in front of Doudou? Always! 😅
Tumblr media
The normally aloof Su Yu kissed Wu Bi! Again it's Su Yu's little smile after the kiss that makes it so sweet. The spoilers were actually true! I didn't think this would happen because in the behind the scenes Jiongmin had said there was no scene where he kisses Xu Bin, but here we are! Xu Bin's dream has finally come true. 🤭
Tumblr media
I was not expecting such an explicit confession! They tried to hide the gay a little by having Su Yu add the ocean part, but Wu Bi's qq screen name is 我想我是海 (I wish I am the sea) and so when Su Yu shouts 我爱你, 大海 (I love you sea), he is not so subtly telling Wu Bi that he loves him. Awwwww. 🥹
But also, I have to drag production a bit on the terrible green screen CGI here. It looks so fake! Did they run out of money? How hard is it to film a sunset at a beach?
Tumblr media
No. Don't you dare Mo Yi. Fuck off. If the last two eps break my heart I'm going to consider SWM as having only 22 episodes where the boys are together and happy.
The girls on weibo only went a little crazy. I didn't see SWM on the main hot search but they were trending for a little while. Hopefully it was short enough where it didn't draw too much attention. 😅

The Lost Tomb 2 | The Lost Tomb Explore With the Note | Dao Mu Bi Ji 2 | 重啟之極 2 | Episode 28
What strange creatures brothers are. – Jane Austen
[Do not repost. Do not remove caption. Thank you!]
Bonus:
Tumblr media
You all know the drill, gif IDs, meta and feels behind the cut. ;D
[ID: There are three gifs above the text and one below it.  The three above the text depict a scene from Episode 28 of The Lost Tomb 2: Explore With the Note.  Xie Yuchen and his adoptive brother, Zhai Xingyao, are walking along a street at midday when they are attacked by a man on a skateboard.  Xie Yuchen catches the man’s wrist as he thrusts a knife at them, then flips him over his shoulder onto the ground.  Xie Yuchen ends up in a crouch over him on the ground, immobilizing him by the grip on his arm.  In the last gif, there is a close up of Zhai Xingyao saying, with a deadpan expression, “Looks like... you're not happy with this present,” then it shifts of a close-up of Xie Yuchen doing the “if looks could kill you’d be dead ten times over right now” glare.  Over this part of the gif is the following text: [...what was your first clue?]  This was the gifmaker’s insert and not part of the original dialogue.
Below the text is a bonus gif of that final “I can kill you with my eyes” glare from Xie Yuchen, but with the following text overlaying it in succession:
1. A-Yao, are you kidding me rn [right now]. 2. I’ve had a very long day, A-Yao. 3. Wu Xie is probably getting into trouble already, and it’s not even 10 AM. 4. Your big brother is tired, A-Yao. 5. PLEASE CUT HIM SOME SLACK.
(It should be noted that Wu Xie HAS already gotten into trouble at this point in the day.  Xiao Hua knows his best friend well.  ;D /ID]
SO.  The first thing that needs to be said here is that I love Xiao Hua A PERFECTLY NORMAL AMOUNT.  (Spoiler: I do NOT.  I love him way too much.  Way, way, WAY too much.  OTZ)  And I love his TLT2 incarnation, played by Liu Xueyi, the best of all of them.  He’s the closest to Xiao Hua’s novel self I’ve yet seen, and I love him to pieces for it.
I love how his every move is designed to be charming and graceful and poised.  How he goes out of his way to look assuming and nonthreatening, even though he’s the scariest motherfucker (tm) in just about every room he’s in.  And I love, love, LOVE the sheer coldness he exudes when he isn’t trying to be charming.
And yet there is genuine warmth in him, too.  You see it in his interactions with Huo Xiuxiu and with Wu Xie and even with A-Yao once they’re done with this little uh... dance.  ^_~  Wu Xie says the following in chapter 13 of the 2015 Chinese New Year Special (thank you again to merebear’s translations):
Xiao Hua smiled and his expression suddenly grew cold.
His change in expression was completely different from mine. When Xiao Hua lowered his lids, tilted his chin down, and then looked up again, all his micro-expressions disappeared. There wasn’t an ounce of amicability that could be seen on his body.
“My feelings are few, and whatever is left is enough for my friends. If I have to treat the enemies differently based on their genders, then living that kind of life is too difficult for me.”
Xiao Hua’s previous expression— whether severe or soothing— had a natural friendliness that lowered people’s guard and made them feel relaxed and comfortable. When this friendliness disappeared, it was like he was a completely different person. It wasn’t a fierce expression, per se, just that he stopped smiling and the corners of his eye dropped down, making people feel uncomfortable.
In fact, Xiao Hua was an extremely difficult person to get along with. He put all his good things together and gave them to a few people.
So, yeah.  All of his warmth, all of his friendliness, all of his compassion, all of his genuine ability to connect with people... is reserved for very, very few.  I wonder sometimes if that was natural inclination or if that was a by-product of his training as a child.  When you consider his intelligence and his skillset, Er Yuehong must have put him through the fucking WRINGER as a child.  He’s a skilled opera singer, an acrobat and a gymnast, a hell of a fighter (I would argue that given the kind of time that Xiaoge and Hei Xiazi have had, he could probably go toe-to-toe with them), and a terrifying strategist.
And you see SO MUCH OF THAT in this one little scene, and I love it.  ^_^

SO. Back to the beginning, Episode 1 of Word of Honor. This is likely to be a little bit different experience than the prior posts, when I was watching the eps as they aired, compared to now approaching the show as whole and complete. May be rummaging around for things I missed the first time through, stuff that takes on new meaning set in additional context – we’ll see how it goes.
With that in mind, spoilers for not just this ep but possibly for the entire series. Get out of the car now and come back later, if you haven’t seen all 36.5 eps and want to watch it unspoiled.
First thing to strike me, right up front: You know, I think we tend to lose sight in later parts of the show – when we’re getting Laopo!Zhou Zishu pouting so he doesn’t have to cook dinner - how terrifying ZZS is in his own right (and by “we,” I actually mean the show, too). One of the things the first few episodes gets right, I think, is the sense of eerie inevitability and dread created by both the falling lanterns of Tian Chuang and the blowing paper figures of the Ghost Valley, and how similar they are. I think it’s easy to lose that - when the lanterns and the paper figures are gone and our charming and adorable couple are busy being charming and adorable at each other, in between varying rounds of being wracked by guilt and PTSD – easy to lose that this is there too, part of them – both of them - under the skin. I think it’s particularly easy to lose that for ZZS, when he’s already done a lot of work, off-screen, pre-Episode 1, during the 18 months he was putting in those first six Nails, to come to some kind of equilibrium, and meanwhile we watch Wen Kexing’s entire torturous process play out on-screen. Wen Kexing’s story is one of reaching an equilibrium, but Zhou Zishu’s story is one of maintaining it, which I think may be less showy, but is equally valuable, just as I value the Four Seasons Manor arc, especially, for giving us a vibe of two adults comfortable in an already intimate relationship, as opposed to the veritable sea of will-they-won’t-they tug-of-war coming-together-for-the-first-time-as-emotional-AND-plot climax relationships that we’re usually awash in.
Anyway, straight up we’re introduced to an assassin who, we discover, doesn’t like to get blood on himself. It looks like metaphorical blood is fine, just not actual blood, but then we discover, well, maybe he’s not as OK with metaphorical blood as he schools himself to look. Also that conversation with Li Jingan about her dad having to die because he’s a traitor to the country – I now wonder how much of that particular conversation Zhou Zishu mentally brings to the table in later conversations about his own father being executed for the same reason. Also, wait wait wait. Zhou Zishu tells Jingan that he took Jiuxiao’s body back to Four Seasons Manor and buried him next to their shifu, but I don’t remember seeing another grave there, other than Qin Huaizhang’s and his wife’s. Script inconsistency, or are you supposed to be lying, ZZS? I mean, would you be so downcast at the state of Four Seasons Manor when you arrive with your husband and son for your honeymoon, if you’d actually been there only a couple of years before? It didn’t fall to pieces overnight. Also, HAIRPIN FORESHADOWING ALERT. Our first sign of how important the hairpin is, the way ZZS’s impassive face cracks wide open when he sees the hairpin that Jiuxiao made and realizes he must have given it to Jingan. Clearly important!
Mmm. Here’s a point for the “Prince Jin is a f’kn asshole” list – Prince Jin wants ZZS to deal with Bi Changfeng personally when Bi Changfeng requests to leave Tian Chuang. And OK, ZZS is the leader of Tian Chuang. But you’re never going to convince me Prince Jin wants ZZS to deal with it personally because Prince Jin is actually so very furious that Bi Changfeng made a mistake. You will never convince me this isn’t a … it’s not even a test of loyalty, at this point, because Prince Jin has no reason to think yet that ZZS is anything other than the faithful hunting dog on a leash that he’s been, lo, these many years. Putting ZZS in a position where not only is he losing the last of the direct disciples of Four Seasons Manor, but he’s being asked to (as good as) kill him with his own hands - it’s just cruelty for the proof of your power and influence over someone. Also, given Prince Jin’s later diatribe about how everyone leaves him OMG (have you considered it’s your personality?) (But also Beiyuan! I know who you are now, and yeah, I would have let Wu Xi bride-kidnap me away from this jerk, too), I have to wonder if Prince Jin isn’t trying to make ZZS feel exactly as isolated as he, himself, feels, as part of his overall desire to make sure that ZZS has no one other than Prince Jin so that their positions are parallel – only having each other in the whole world. I also have to wonder if he’s not hoping for precisely the reaction ZZS has to Bi Changfeng – you’d rather be dead than be with me? Because that hurts, you can see it on ZZS’s face (thanks already, Zhang Zhehan), and I rather suspect Prince Jin wants it to hurt. I notice we get an echo of this later in the ep, with Prince Jin saying pretty much the same thing when ZZS asks for the final Nail. GOOD. I hope it hurts you just as much. I wonder if ZZS realizes this while he’s kneeling there in the throne room. It’s probably too late for him to get any satisfaction out of it.
OH, HEY. That’s HAN YING already, one of the two people accompanying ZZS to put down Bi Changfeng, looking super-pained like he knows what this is all costing his beloved. Han Ying, I really hope you got to tap that at least a few times before ZZS made his break for it. Is that one of the reasons Prince Jin seems to have such antipathy for you, or is it really just that he can’t stand the idea of someone whose loyalty to ZZS is greater than their loyalty to Prince Jin, himself? (Seriously, y’all, why is there not much much more Han Ying/ZZS fic?) Meanwhile Duan Pengju, omg, this asshole, is already looking smug and punchable. Really, he’s kind of enjoying the Seven Nails placement a little too much. Showing your hand pretty fast on the petty evil thing, show.
So, one thing I didn’t catch the first time around, is that ZZS isn’t just self-injuring to punish himself when he takes the knife to his chest – he re-opens wounds on all the places where the first six Nails have already been placed, so it will look like the placement is fresh. If you can’t tell he hasn’t just put them in, there’s no reason for anyone else (read: Prince Jin) to suspect he’s bought himself some time before he loses his senses. As far as anyone knows, he’s going to fall over with locked-in syndrome any day now. Which just makes the implications of Prince Jin vowing that he’s only letting him go for now EVEN ICKIER. For all Prince Jin knows, what he’s going to get back is a flesh doll that will just lie there, although I guess on the plus side, ZZS would never leave him again. Thanks, show, I need a shower, now.
ZZS says all the right things to argue his case to Prince Jin – he’s only good as a weapon, he has no skills nor utility for building and governing the country – and I think partly this is because he just knows the right things to say. I mean, you don’t become the Number Two guy in the country, with thousands under you and only one above you, if you can’t play imperial politics. But I also wonder if deep down he doesn’t actually believe it – he was successful at building Tian Chuang, but he couldn’t maintain Four Seasons Manor and even drove it to ruin. So, I’ll just be over here, clutching my chest, over my heart. Fortunately, Zhang Zhehan provides quick distraction from this pain, and I … Y’all. I can’t. I just. I CANNOT. When ZZS drops to his knees and starts stripping in the throne room. Just. Mmmmmrgh. THIS VISUAL. Although, you want to know what one of the hottest parts actually is? That pair of leather bracers hitting the floor on top of his belt, and ZZS isn’t even in the shot at that point. OK, fine, I am willing to read some dirtybadwrong fic with this whole scene premise at its heart, even if it does include Prince Jin. Zhang Zhehan, you are KILLING ME. I might have rewound this part. More than once. You can’t prove anything.
Aaaand then we get that gorgeous, painful shot of ZZS riding out into the snow that I know I’ve talked about before (including the way I get an odd echo of Lan Xichen off of it). There are several places in this ep where the cinematography is to die for, and this is one of them, the bleakness of the landscape and Zhang Zhehan (and his FACE) deep in that shadowing cloak against the stark snow as he rides out into freedom and the unknown. Then cut to somewhere green and forested. Interesting that the show starts with snow and ends with snow. That parallel with the imperial cage says some things about immortality that could stand to be unpacked – but later. Because ZZS is putting his face on – literally – and I am once again in pain, only it’s not the good kind of pain. It’s caused by that dreadful fake facial hair. There are some things that could be unpacked here, as well, about the fact that making ZZS supposedly unattractive involves a clearly fake goatee, a single aesthetically placed scar, and darkening his skin. I’m going to try to step carefully here, because this is kind of out of my lane, but it is … a noticeable thing. That probably ought to be noted.
So, ZZS takes just a moment to turn his (fake) face up to the sun and feel the warmth on it … and then with 10 minutes left, we’re on our way to Ghost Valley, where there’s some chaos and then Hanging Ghost gets got by a Mysterious Stranger To Be Revealed Later, who chokes him out (remember this). The Mysterious Master of Ghost Valley appears dramatically on his High Ledge to Make Some Pronouncements while playing with some walnuts omg (rolling two of them in one hand – remember this), and we see his eyes, which are partially obscured by chunky sidebangs, which are farther forward on his forehead than we’re going to see later, not only hiding some of his face but making it look more angular. The troops get berated, shit rolls downhill, and another dude gets choked (remember this) as Ghost Valley Master’s hair continues to artfully hide most of his face and he worries about his manicure post-kill (remember this). War is declared on Hanging Ghost for stealing the Glazed Armor, and more chaos is set into motion.
All of that takes literally two minutes, and then we cut to three months later, and no one realizes it yet, but the fam is getting together. ZZS is tits out in the gutter - only beginning his career of being a minx who flashes his collarbones an awful lot for someone who has Very Secret Scars He’s Hiding On His Chest - happily drinking himself to death in the sun (we really need to talk about this correlation of snow and immortality vs. sun and happiness …). Meanwhile, slo-mo shot of Wen Kexing looking precious and perfect, with delicate pink lips and dove-grey robes, as he checks out the rough trade in the gutter. Oh, the expectations this show is getting ready to smash. We cut from a shot of pristine precious WKX to ZZS holding up his hand, and we get a shot of the sun through ZZS’s fingers looking an awful lot like some shots of characters halo’d in light that we’ll get back to much much later in the show. Chengling appears out of nowhere to be Best Boy. A-Xiang is purple and smol and ready to brawl, and I already love her. I already love them all!  So much! Here are my delicate and precious feelings, show, go ahead and stomp all over them!

for the ask meme!!!👉👈
8, because i like it when you talk about fic and books and reading!
(20, if you want to - authors should always feel free to meta on their own work! 😘)
💖💖💖
Thank you, sweetie!
8. Is what you like to write the same as what you like to read?
Honestly, yes – all of the things I’ve read and loved come back in my writing, whether in obvious homages (Gunpowder and Ink especially is a nod to Georgette Heyer and all the other Regency romance authors I devoured as a teen) or just in certain turns of phrase, conscious or unconscious. Probably the genre that I vastly enjoy but use the least would be golden/silver age British mysteries, because I simply do not have the patience to plot out a satisfying mystery. Others show up in possibly unexpected ways: The Fox’s Geometry pulls from the emotion, self-discovery, interpersonal relationships and unreliable narration of works such as Megan Whalen Turner’s Queen’s Thief series and Martha Wells’ Murderbot. Meanwhile, The Language of Flour (and my Kan Jian himself) is very much influenced by P.G.Wodehouse’s cheery young idiots with a heavy side of the straight-man oblivious humor of Keith Robertson’s Henry Reed series. And all my favorites and my writing have some things in common: eventual happy/happyish endings, relationships that rely on emotion rather than sex, and having fun with all the possibilities of the English language.
20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)
Ooh, fun! While implying a certain depth of thought that… I probably lack.
I did enjoy sticking this sly line said by Wu Xie to Gao Bai in on chapter 3 of Intersection: “I will never, ever touch anything that has had your family name on it." Oh, babe, if only you knew. There are some other lines I’ve snuck in that I’m proud of but can’t say yet because spoilers!
Liu Sang/Zhan Qiling’s relationship in the Intersection ‘verse took me by surprise! I adore Pingxiesang, but my personal takeaway from Reboot is that there’s a significantly stronger argument for Wu Xie’s interest in Liu Sang than for Zhang Qiling’s, so (partly because I'm not good at relationships based on sexual attraction) I wasn’t sure where to get a grip on their relationship at first beyond “Well, if it makes Wu Xie happy…”. I hadn’t even considered how my altered Liu Sang backstory would affect that, until I was suddenly broadsided by the similarities between the two characters that resulted from these changes. I honestly think that’s what I’m enjoying the most out of writing my particular Pingxiesang relationship in this ‘verse, is watching the two approach Liu Sang from different places: Wu Xie has love, but not understanding, Zhang Qiling has understanding but not love. Getting them both to the point where they love and understand Liu Sang, and he loves and understands them back is a long road, but I am so excited about it.
One scene that got cut and replaced from Intersection was the very first flashback in chapter 16. Initially, I had a scene there with Wu Xie as a young child in bed having his mother come in to kiss him goodnight and him seeing her crying (because she’d just found out about the whole family’s plan for his future). I ended up replacing the scene it because it was far too passive, but I regret having to cut her. Poor woman doesn’t even get named in DMBJ canon as far as I can tell, she deserved a fanfic cameo.
Here, how about some Triangle sexuality headcanons for the Intersection universe?
Wu Xie is enthusiastically bi and had a glorious time in college and after before he finally settled down with his partners.
Pangzi is straight and aromantic: he has a number of lovely lady friends with whom he has mutually beneficial physical interactions, but the most powerful relationship in his life is what he has with Wu Xie and Xiaoge.
Zhang Qiling’s sexuality is Wu Xie.

Lets pronounce stuff ( ̄▽ ̄)
Tagalog is easy to pronounce, almost all of the words are read exactly as it they are written.
It might get confusing though, you will notice that there are a lot of the letter "a" in the language, for example there’s a well known Elevator scene:
Person 1: (runs to elevator) Bababa ba?
Person 2: (nods) Bababa.
Tumblr media
what happened? Well I can simply break it down just for you:
Bababa (Going down)
Baba (Down)
Ba? (Is it?)
Do you think its nakakapagpabagabag? (Worrisome)
Its OK! You'll get used to it, besides, to efficiently learn a language you must start from the very beginning (we could read children's books if we have to!)
Lets start by letting you get used to the sounds, try saying these out loud:
A           E          I          O           U BA       BE      BI        BO      BU DA       DE     DI      DO       DU GA      GE      GI      GO      GU HA      HE      HI      HO       HU LA        LE        LI        LO        LU MA      ME    MI       MO     MU NA       NE    NI        NO      NU NGA  NGE  NGI  NGO  NGU PA       PE        PI        PO      PU RA      RE        RI       RO       RU SA       SE       SI       SO       SU TA       TE       TI        TO       TU WA    WE     WI      WO      WU YA       YE      YI        YO       YU
A=   pronounced as the a in  Apple
E=   pronounced as the e in Elephant
I=   pronounced as the I in Igloo
O=  pronounced as the o in Orange (none of that “oh” or “owe” just straight up O(range)
U=   pronounced as the u in Uber ( similar to “oo” sound in a cows “Moo”) (or “oof” xD)
Now you might be asking, what the heck is the “NGA” parts? well it makes the same sound from the following ingles (english) words:
“Sing Along” “Thingamabob”
notice how there is no super hard emphasis on the G (ex. Chimichanga)?
The “Ng” on its own is pronounced the same way as the NG in:
“Walking” “Drawing” “Learning”
I will use the word “Walking” for now, and add the vowels at the end try saying the following words (remember the nga sound in Sing Along):
Walkinga
Walkinge
Walkingi
Walkingo
Walkingu
______
Here are some sample sentence:
“Ano gagawin natin ngayon? (What are we doing today)
“Nge, peke pala yung nabili ko” (nge! I accidentally bought a fake one!)
“Masakit ngipin ko” (My teeth/tooth hurts)
“Mabango mga bulaklak” (The Flowers smell good)
“May Talumpati ata ang Pangulo mamaya (The President might have a speech later)
______
Slang time d(°∀°d) as always DONT use in formal situations:
“Ngeh” or “Ngek”
it does not mean anything. rather, it is an interjection. its an expression to when something that surprises you (but in a sarcastic way) similar to “Lol what?” or “seriously?” “is that for real?” it has a “seriously? thats so dumb!” tone to it.  (depends on what region you are in the Philippines)
ex.
“Ngeh, pano nangyari yun?” (”wha? how did that even happen?”)
“Ngek, mali yung sagot ko..” (”My answer was wrong.”.)
“Nganga”
technically it means an “open mouth”.  when a person is speechless, either you ended up “nganga” or they ended up “nganga”, or you both ended up “nganga”, in this case you’re both “Tunganga”
“Tunganga”
Dazed / Spaced out
“Ahhh”
this is easy, its just the tagalog version of “oooh”. like “oooh I get it!” in tagalog its an a sound, “Ahhh gets ko na!”
“Tungak!”
the word “Tanga” is a rude way to say idiot / Dumba** (though some close friends use it anyway, you know how friends are). The word “Tungak” Is a less rude of saying it. kind of like “Oh you idiot haha!” (still not saying that you should use this formally though, I mean you are still calling someone an idiot)
“Ewan (ko)” / “Malay (ko)”
a slang for “I dont know” ( its very unprofessional) its pretty much equivalent to “How the heck would I know?” in fact, you say it in the same tone.
“Ehhh”
compared to “ahh” this isnt as positive, its like, when someone asks you to do your chores but your too lazy just go “eeeeh”. pretty much equivalent to “uuuugh” you could add “Ayoko” at the end to make it
“Eeehh, Ayoko!” (“Ugghhgh I dont want to!”)
“Eh”
some people usually add this at the end like an accent, usually those people are sarcastic. its also similar to “well...” for example
“Hindi ko naman alam eh!” (“Well its not like I knew about it!”)
“Ohh diba”
equivalent would be “Hah! see what I did?” you know those hah! in your face or I told you so moments where you prove someone wrong? say this to all the non-believers,
“Oh diba! sabi ko sayo eh!” (”Hah! I told you so!”)
“Geh”
not to be confused with the meme, although..they are pronounced the same;; its equivalent to “whatever”.

Dance of the Phoenix - Episode 6
Tumblr media
So yes. I am weak. I decided to watch one more episode ather the cleaning. I mean... after watching something like this I will surely have sweet dreams. Maybe meet with Feng Xu or something, who knows.
Minister Bi reveals there are words that Xiaowu went to see Old Ba. He then offers them to stay at his place as he prepared nice rooms for them, but Jin Linyuan says it’s not necessary. Feng Wu Wants to protest but they decide to leave before she can say anything more.
Are we finally going to know who is this Zhao Ge girl ? Seems she was from the same school as Qingluan, but it’s not the case anymore. Zuo Qingluan wants her to come back, she would even beg their master, but Zhao Ge says it’s fine. While Mu Yao And Zuo Qingluan go take care of something, Zhao Ge leaves a note saying she’s going back to the capital by herself. Mu Yao and Zuo Qingluan are going to go to the border city.
Back in said city, Jun Linyuan and co go to see old Ba who’s still being threatened by Yu Ming Ye. Jun Linyuan forces the door open, but there is nobody inside. Then he notices the hand print left by Yu Ming Ye earlier to scare poor Old Ba. Our little prince is so smart and makes their favourite opponent come out. Again, during the fight yu Ming Ye uses Feng wu to threaten them and again Jun linyuan’s venom is acting up, but not as much since he claims her back. Yu Ming Ye escapes but Jun Linyuan says not to chase him, they need to find the celestial fruit. They ask old Ba about Feng Xiaowu, but he has a little trouble lying about it. Well in the end they leave because they heard enough and Jun Linyuan knocks on Feng Wu’s forehead. I can’t understand this guy. As they leave, Jun Linyuan’s chest hurts again and Feng Wu is like wow this guy is a male version of Lin Daiyu, which is extremely funny. Well to me. Lin Daiyu is a character from the Dream of the Red Pavilion and she’s always sick.
Feng Wu treats Jun Linyuan’s pain with acupuncture once they are back home. When she takes his pulse she feels there’s something unsusual and Feng Xun says it might be the loveless venom she made him eat back then. So she realizes that when he said she wasn’t one of them to Yu Ming Ye it was probably the curse.
Xuan Yi meets with and old man to tell him something but those screen writers won’t let us hear it DDD:
While she’s making medicine at night, Yu Ming Ye gets in her room to ask about Feng Xiao wu. He thinks their smell is similar. Is he a dog or what% But he says Feng Wu isn’t as pretty as Feng Xiaowu. They are all so dumb... But she tells him it seems Jun Linyuan found Xiaowu, so he should go and save her then. And he dropped a charm while leaving and now Jun Linyuan is finally being smart and suspects  that Feng Wu might have informed the darknight court of their whereabouts maybe and that she’s Feng Xiaowu. You’re half right... So he takes her out to look for Feng Xiaowu and she almost exposes herself.
From afar, Yu Mingye looks at them and a town’s person tells him he doesn’t stand a chance with the fifth lady. She’s loved by many as she’s nice and pretty. He follows them while Jun Linyuan tries to expose her.
Feng Liu th crazy cousin is getting more and more greedy, she even wants the pheonix chant sword for herself now and to become the next head of the family so she would be a match for Jun Linyuan.
Yu Ming Ye tries to go and save Xiaowu from the mean Jun Linyuan but both Feng Xun and Xuan Yi are waiting for him. Non-epic fight scene. Jun Linyuan joins at that moment too.
When Feng Wu comes back home, crazy cousin is ready to attack her and she wants to scar her face so Jun Linyuan won’t like her anymore. They are always that crazy, right? Side girls in dramas are really scary honestly. Qiu Ling tries to protect Feng Wu, which makes Feng Liu even more angry and crazy. Feng Wu fights her back with a pin takin from Qiu Ling’s hair.
Oh!!! EPIC FIGHTING SCENE! Nothing too crazy but the coordination there between Feng Xun, Xuan Yi and Jun Linyuan was awesome to look at.
And then it’s the end of episode 6. And no more episode. So I have no choice but to go to bed. However this is pretty annoying because this cliffhanger is killing me. I want to know what is going to happen next. This drama is really good seriously. Even though many things in the plot aren’t new, it still has somme freshness. The story really is addictive, the visuals are gorgeous, the OST is enchanting, the acting and dubbing are good. So far, 10/10!

Killing Eve 1x03
Wow. The ending of this episode was expected from the moment at the train station, but it was still really sad. And this episode was a real game changer, things are personal now! Reaction and thoughts under the cut.
The opening scene was beautifully shot with Eve in a trance describing Villanelle as the camera slowly turned around her, and I was totally enraptured, until the reveal of her surroundings and then it just became a lol moment. “She had a lost look in her eye that was both direct and also chilling. She’s totally focused… yet almost entirely inaccessible.” “So, is that like a square face or an oval face?” haha then Bill’s face, and Eve’s face in response. I’m also impressed by how much she got from a single interaction of like 30 seconds.
So now we get to see Berlin. I love how we travel all over Europe with Villanelle! And we’re at a kink clinic lol, I love this. So it was obvious the cover nurse would be Villanelle but how great was that shot of her turning around all “Take off your clothes” ! And her voice got so hot when she said “Hot Medica” and “Nobody gets special treatment” ! That close up of the man dying was creepy though and now we’ve officially established that she likes to look into her victims’ eyes when they die. I also love the little details that show she really doesn’t care about them like when she lets go of the man’s arm and it just falls back with a thump. So disrespectful to the dead!
Back with Eve and her husband, they have a hilarious conversation about their chicken’s egg and her new job. “I don’t think we should eat it.” “Risky?” “Yeah” “Is the job risky?” “Oh, it’s about as dangerous as eating that egg would be.” “You just said the egg was too risky!” “No, no. Wait, no. I mean, the worst that could happen is I would get the shits at my computer because of a bad sandwich.” Lmao! They have such a great dynamic.
Eve’s team finds out about 2 new murders. Carla’s induced asthma attack from last episode “Let me guess. You think it was a woman.” “Well, she was found in the ladies. So, yes, she’s going on the wall, you ass.” Hahaha. And now Zhang Wu. Chinese colonel visiting Berlin. Hacker for the Chinese military. So, so far most of the murders have been political. And Villanelle now left another witness behind her (first the mafia boy from episode 1 and now the receptionist who signed her in as a temp). This leaves me to wonder if she has stopped being careful recently or if there are rumors all over Europe of a fit woman in her mid-20’s linked to all sorts of murders. After all, maybe Konstantin was only angry about Katsia still being alive in episode 1 because she actually witnessed the murder whereas with the others there are only suspicions? Or was the boy a one-off and now she doesn’t care anymore because she knows Eve has seen her and can identify her?
“Why are you all being weird?” Lol! And then they’re all looking at Carolyn. “She said her name was Eve Polastri.” Wow, omg, etc. That was a really smart way for Villanelle to get their attention. So, Eve is understandably freaked out but wants to keep investigating. What I don’t understand is why she isn’t asking more questions about how Villanelle could have learned her name. Like who knows about their investigation? Is it possible they could have been hacked? Maybe it happened and we just aren’t privy to it. Maybe she thinks this has nothing to do with the taskforce and only with their meeting in the bathroom.
“Bill, you’re coming with me.” Bill: “Take Elena.” Elena: “Yes, take Elena!” hahaha I love her. Kenny: “I don’t think Elena should go.” Nobody asked you, Kenny!
“It’s one trip, Bill. Huh? One trip.” “Daddy’s going to die, isn’t he?” damn, Bill! At this point I just thought it was a disturbingly funny line. British humor or something. I should have known they were really going to go there! Also, Bill looks really good for 60. “Oh, come on. It’s not like she’s gonna still be there.” LOL. Oh, Eve.
And guess who’s stalking her own crime scene like they say a killer would? That’s right. Villanelle’s there wearing great camouflage outfits. Lol. And in one of the greatest TV scenes of all time, she’s also picked up an American tourist. “Take your hair down.” “You are sooo sexy.” (side note: I love how positively they portray middle-aged women on this show, making them desirable, same for curly hair) “No, no. Keep your clothes on, your bag on your shoulder.” “I’m going to call you Eve, okay?” OMG WHAT? LOL “Why?” “It’s just a little biblical fantasy thing” HAHAHA “Do you want me to call you Adam?” at this I just D-I-E-D. “No, no. That’s okay” hahahahahaa and they kiss and it’s super hot omg “Now I am going to hide and you are going to find me.” LMAO and that tourist is just like. What just happened? The whole scene was so unexpected and so delightful.
And then of course Villanelle steals Eve’s suitcase. Is she also eating Eve’s risky egg sandwich? Aww she’s so disappointed by her boring clothes. The scarf is nice though. “Poor baby” ha! Is that something she’s heard being said before? And was that some sort of cream? And of course Konstantin is there! I love them so much “I thought I could smell something.” “Sorry, are you having a nice little holiday here?” “Are you?” Lmao. “I booked you in for one night.” “So? I like Berlin. Have you been before?” “Yes” “Have you seen the Wall?” “Yes” “The Jewish Museum?” “Listen” “That is massively poignant.” Hahaha
“I have a job for you. Off the record. The woman, Eve Polasi” “Polastri” “She’s here. She’s investigating your work.” “Did you see where I did it?” “Very cute, yes.” So this means that she receives general intel along with her target’s identity and then she can choose how/where/when to kill them. Although looking back I guess it was established in episode 1 when he congratulated her on no CCTV at the crime scene.
“Why are you so worried?” “Aren’t you?” “No! I don’t even think about her.” “Why does she think it was you?” she shrugs. But she’s such a bad liar?! It’s like she’s not even trying to convince him. “I want you to watch her. I need to know who she meets. This is me asking you. Not them, okay?” And watch her, she does! She stalks her across town and in a clothing store and even picks out a belt for her lol. She sure has an eye for style.
Meanwhile, Eve has investigated the Chinese’s death. Poisoned with carbon monoxide. And his balls were clamped. Of all the tool Villanelle had at her disposal, she kept it quite clean. I was expecting something way sinister when we got that first shot of her at the clinic scrubbing the instruments clean. They meet with the Chinese attaché on the case, Jin Yeong, who’s a big deal within Chinese Intelligence. He gives them intel on the dead Chinese. “Internally, the guy was known as ‘Fat Panda’, which is a little racist. Fattist, come to that. But I hear that he started it so, you know, we went along. “ lol! This was a nice surprise to hear a seemingly traditional older Asian man mentioning racism and fattism. But that’s pretty much the only positive thing I can say about him.
“What’s the Chinese story?” “The new autopsy concludes that he took the initiative himself when the covering nurse left the room, working the forceps to experience a shock of pain that triggered a cardiac arrest. Not my thing.” “Not his, either.” “Why? He’s a masochist.” “Look, kinks are totally specific. It’s not just about pain, it’s a contract. It’s about someone else taking control. A ‘spankophile’ wouldn’t just spank himself, would he?” lol Eve’s face. But I love how respectful they are in their portrayal of kinks and that they keep calling the workers nurses.
Later on in Eve’s hotel room. “Have you ever fancied me?” “Uh… no.” “You me?” “No.” I love it! Male/female friendships are real! “So, tell me what happened in Charlottenburg.” “Everything happened.” “Wait. Men?” “Yes.” “Were you gay?” Well, I didn’t like that line, they could have used something more appropriate like ‘Are you bi?’… “Uh… I just fall in love with whoever I fall in love with.” “Does Keiko know?” “She’s got her own thing going on.” Incredible! “Wait, so you guys… “ “Well… I really wanted a baby, and she was rich and ovulating, so…” “But you guys are like the perfect couple.” “We’re a good team.” I loooved this exchange. Way to go, Bill! I’m all about convenient arrangements and friends raising kids together. Although I’m not sure how I feel about the show bringing up personal stories about him this whole episode to make him more likable and make us feel more for him knowing he’d die. And maybe also making Eve a little less guilty about the whole Keiko raising a baby by herself since she ‘has her own thing going on’.
“Do you want to hear something really freaky?” “What?” “The conditions have to be just right, but sometimes… we have sex.” Hahaha “You ever been interested in women?“ “Uh, no. Not like that.” “Not even ones with delicate features, sort of catlike eyes that are completely inaccessible?” LOL I love how he calls her out on her earlier description. “That is horribly unprofessional! Do you want to hear about her tits?” lmao
So before this scene Eve skyped with Niko. She’s so taken with her new job that she kind of neglects him and forgot about their plan to host their friends. It’s kinda sad. Hopefully they can get past this. But also, can I just say that I loved their earlier exchange : “You’re so strong.” “All that math.” Hahaha.
And Villanelle listens in to the skype call! Did she hack into Eve’s computer? And how did she know what computer to hack into since Eve is in a hotel? (I obviously know nothing about hacking lol) Or is it their home computer in London that’s tapped into? How many skills does Villanelle have? And she rewound the tape when Bill arrived… to know his knocking pattern? So she could maybe visit Eve later? And could she hear the rest of the conversation when the skype call was finished/the laptop was shut down?
Then at the train station, Villanelle is there!!! Wearing a suit. Lol. Dressing up for Eve! That silly cap she wore all day wasn’t going to do. And omggg Bill stops her from getting on the train. What are you doing, Bill??? So, was Villanelle planning to follow Eve to the restaurant and just watch her like Konstantin instructed? Also, I would be much more pissed if I were her, and had my arm grabbed like that. “Excuse me. May I ask where you got that scarf?” “Oh, my mother has a shop in Munich. I can give you the address if you like?” Now, that was an excellent lie! I envy her ability to improvise. And she speaks German! Another language to add to the list. So she leaves the train station. And Bill fucking follows her. And so horribly at that. She leads him to a club and of course the bouncer lets Villanelle go in without waiting… she hot. Bill… not so much lol.
So Eve meets with Jin. I did not find him funny. And unfortunately, I have this nagging feeling that he’ll be back on the show sometime. But for the moment, I’m glad Eve was equally annoyed with him and I loved that she did not play his game ‘however gross’ to get information which is what Carolyn would have wanted (although thankfully Eve missed that instruction due to her earphones falling out lol such a great detail). “Last week, Fat Panda hacked into the account of an agent of the Chinese Intelligence. An organization has been paying him millions. We don’t know what for, but a week later, both Fat Panda and the agent were dead. You might have a little creature yourself. Think of this as a friendly, little mole trap.” So there is a mole in the British Intelligence! And probably some Chinese agents as well or how would they know? I guess we’ll find out next episode what’s on that USB key.
Now, at the club, Eve is let in after speaking German (and sounded really good to my untrained ears). Villanelle managed to be spotted by Bill and lured him to the front. He looks pretty proud of himself to have found her. Oh, Bill. And then… she just turns around. And she smiles this terrifying smile at him. It is super creepy. And then the chase is on. Lmao you can see the exact moment he realizes this was a mistake and how much he’s screwed. Scheisse is right. So she catches up to him and stabs him like 20 times in the chest. Overkill much? And Eve, who’s found him pretty quickly considering how packed the club is, arrives just too late. And she just can’t get to him!!! I was so frustrated that she couldn’t get through and was left there screaming at him! And that’s how the episode ends. Wow. I swear the last 10 minutes or so were so stressful. Why did Bill decide to follow her like that? What did he think was going to happen? I guess we’ll never know.
So let’s talk about Villanelle’s motivations for luring Eve to Berlin. Even before knowing who Eve was, she looked thrilled that someone had taken an interest in her. Is she bored with her life because her kills are too easy? Is she ‘lonely’ because the only person she seems to interact with is Konstantin? Is she flattered that there is a whole taskforce with the sole purpose of finding her? Does the fact that they’ve already accidently met and that Eve has curly hair (that reminds her of Anna?) heighten her excitement? Probably. So, since she knows that Eve is investigating her, Villanelle could want to figure Eve out first to win some sort of internal game. She could be curious to know how someone who looks like Eve, someone seemingly innocuous from their meeting in the bathroom, could catch her and be curious about her skills. Maybe she wants to know about Eve’s psyche and what motivates Eve to find her. I was actually surprised at how fast the show moved and had them in the same place again. It was super bold of Villanelle to use Eve’s name to lure her in. Despite her talks of the trip being safe, did Eve subconsciously suspect that this was a trap but decided to throw caution to the wind because of her own curiosity to learn more about this female assassin?
Anyway, so Eve arrives in Berlin and Villanelle just wants to play a little so she steals her suitcase and wears her scarf as some sort of trophy or something. And it’s so funny how she just can’t help herself and has to bump into Bill on the streets to get attention. And she looks so thrilled to have succeeded. So, at this point it’s all fun and games, but then she decides to kill Bill! I guess it’s still all fun and games to her, but she has to know that this will change things for Eve. Did she just act impulsively and want to punish him for being annoying and stopping her from following Eve? Or to prove that she was not someone to underestimate? Was this something planned and she wanted to make this personal to make sure Eve would pursue finding her?
In any case, this fundamentally changes things for Eve. Until now all of Villanelle’s kills were people she didn’t know and she could admire her genius from an outsider’s perspective and be ‘just a fan’ as she said in the second episode. But not anymore. Now that she’s somehow responsible for a death, having decided to go to Berlin and pushed Bill to come with her, she’s directly involved. She’ll have to confront her conflicting feelings of admiration and guilt/anger.
Anyway, that’s it for episode 3! Thanks for reading!

I'm really going to miss SWM despite the sad ending. The actors really did a great job with what they had and could do. I knew the accident was going to hurt me, and that it would be a OE, but I did not expect it to be more like a BE. More about that later. At least we got a whole episode of happy boys before all the shit hit the fan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene really touched me. Su Yu pushes Wu Bi to achieve his dreams and is there to support him all the way. We also get another hint of what Wu Bi's time capsule wish is. My guess is that he wished for he, Su Yu and Doudou to always be together. Normally it's Wu Bi who is always saying he doesn't want to be separated from Su Yu, but this time, it's Su Yu telling Wu Bi not to leave him, pulling on Wu Bi's heartstrings. 🥹
Tumblr media
Why does Wu Bi have a picture of his and Su Yu's epic bike ride framed? Did his mother draw that? Did he get the idea from her? Wu Bi, I have so many questions...
Tumblr media
Su Yu wrote a wish card for Wu Bi too. 🥹 I am not ok. 😭
Tumblr media
One last shout out to the shipper girl. She knows. 🤭 I'm glad they didn't write her as a crazy person, inserting herself into Wu Bi and Su Yu's relationship and doing a bunch of weird stuff to get them together.
Tumblr media
Arghhhh the foreshadowing! When Su Yu said that, my heart filled with dread even though I already knew what was coming. No. They're going to ride their bike together forever ok. 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wu Bi is so completely smitten with Su Yu. It's all heart eyes, all the time. They are so cute. Was this the reward Su Yu was talking about? I thought it would be something 🔞, but taking Wu Bi on a date might motivate him even more. I mean what kind of equestrian center has prince charming equestrian outfits? 🤭 I think they look great, but this totally looks like a date (Doudou is just there to make it look less gay).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wait a minute... that's not what the director demonstrated! I wanted to see that peck on the lips! Please tell me they shot two versions and we'll see the uncut version later. 🙏
Tumblr media
Psycho alert! 🚨 Mo Yi was hella creepy here. I was a bit scared he would actually hurt Su Yu. You can feel all the resentment he has for Su Yu. First his ex-gf wanted to be with Su Yu rather than him. Second, Wu Bi has chosen Su Yu over him and is acting like a little bitch towards him. Not defending him, but I honestly don't think Mo Yi would have felt such hatred and resentment if Wu Bi hadn't started being really rude and bratty towards him after falling in love with Su Yu.
Tumblr media
The ultimate sacrifice. 😭 Wu Bi knew there was no way to stop the car safely so he chose to protect Su Yu by crashing the car on the driver's side. Even though I knew the accident was going to happen, it still hurt so much. Wu Bi will always protect Su Yu no matter what. I read some comments scolding Su Yu for sleeping even though he knew something was wrong with the car. My interpretation is that Su Yu wasn't sleeping, he was worried too, but he trusted Wu Bi completely, and Wu Bi told him to rest because he can handle it, so he did. The level of trust and confidence you need to have in your partner for that is just...
Tumblr media
I didn't notice this the first time watching because I was too busy wailing, but Wu Bi hugged Su Yu to protect him. FUCK. 😭😭😭😭 For all the unreasonable jealousy and temper tantrums, Wu Bi really is the best boy.
Tumblr media
This is so painful, I can't screencap bloody Wu Bi anymore. It killed me that Wu Bi woke up for a second to stare into Su Yu's eyes when Doudou called to complete their OT3, only to fall into a comma again.
Tumblr media
Argh this ending! Is Wu Bi alive or dead? I didn't notice that the doctor nods a little when speaking to Su Yu the first time around. Doctors usually only nod when the operation was successful, so I guess Wu Bi is alive but what about the empty house? Only Wu Bi's stuff is still there, meaning that everyone left him? How is this not a BE? 😭
Of course this makes sense as a set up for a season 2 but I feel like they still could have given us a conclusion. Something like Wu Bi lives, but Su Yu left because he knew Mo Yi was crazy and he wanted to protect Wu Bi. Then the new season would be about how the boys find their way back to each other. It wasn't necessary to leave viewers hanging and heartbroken. 😢 And with 24 episodes of 30+ minutes runtime, I felt the team had enough time to tell a complete story. It shouldn't matter that book 1 of the novel ended like the series because the drama should stand on its own outside of the novel. Besides, wouldn't it have been safer just to film the whole thing at once to avoid the risk of not being allowed to film part 2?
There's a lot of doubt that S2 will actually happen, but someone asked Mo Yi's actor if there will be a 2nd season and he said that there should be. I'm not going to get my hopes up too much before there is official news that everyone is shooting again to spare myself any disappointment, but of course I am hoping for a second season. In the meantime, I hope cjd will release the uncut version of the series that she teased about before. I really do love this series so much even though I was disappointed with the ending. I'll have to treat SWM like MODC and skip the end. SWM only has 22 episodes. Yup. 🤡
