Dia is part of the Cristo Bloodline, one of 3! The bloodline shares the electrokinesis, meaning Ziolah and Luxein ALSO have it. But Jodiah is the only one with heart problems!

Why is that? Because the electricity builds as their heart beats, and it’s emotion-based. Electricity can be created but it needs somewhere to GO. Luxein uses his powers all the time- he uses it to supercharge (and ultimately fry) the engines he works with. He has more scars because of it. Luxein, similarly to Dia, experienced a rough life, lost his partner, in a rough place, managing best he can. He has unpacked trauma. But, he uses his electricity OFTEN, meaning it never builds up. Dia never uses it unless he has to- meaning it builds, and builds, and builds, until he dispels it or faints. He has enough of a storage to kill a fuchsia. He doesn’t use it on purpose. His mask is the only thing that he uses it for as a failsafe. He doesn’t necessarily NEED to be hot 24/7, but its a safety thing. If anything happens, the energy is there. It’s like a person keeping their nails long, or having a spare key to hold between their fingers when walking.

Ziolah doesn’t have issues because she had the opposite happen: she used so much of her electric storage in one moment that it caused an explosion. Its how she lost her leg and hand! Now, she practices mindfulness and manages her anxiety. She has healthy coping methods. She finds positive, low-powered uses for her powers. Because she never had an emotionally traumatizing event happen to her, she never developed the secondary sedative lime power.

Jodiah I’m also noticing those markings on your hand - is that permanent scarring from use of your electrokinesis? If so was it from a particular time or do you still get more scarring sometimes?

“You’re observant. I like that.”

“Yes, the scarring comes from the electricity. Most of the time, it isn’t strong enough to cause damage. Because I tend to use my hands to electrocute others, they receive the brunt end of it. I can tell you most of the scarring was caused by a few specific events, where I needed more than the average amount of juice.”

“Two Self defense situations. And one event where I was ordered to power something- not like a battery would, it didn’t run on psionics, nor was I strapped in like a helmsman. It was a weapon, I was ordered to give it an extra kick. My hands were pretty burnt after it.”

“I don’t know much about my actual bloodline- I never cared to look. But Beloved warned me often that I needed to be careful. I could blow a limb.”

Jodiah, while raised by Beloved, is biologically part of the Cristo line. Luxein, slightly older than Jodiah, has the SAME problem with showing off his face. Because of such, Luxe wears a helmet. 

Ziolah, the youngest of the line, doesnt have that issue. Ziolah doesn't have the same emotional trauma that both men hold. On the flip side, though, Ziolah’s electrokinesis is a lot stronger! She’s the only Cristo thus far who has been able to truly harness that power, at the cost of a hand and leg.

Dia what kind of maintenance work are you most fond of? Taking things apart? Putting them back together? Cleaning them? Etc etc

"None of the above. I enjoy figuring out how they work."

"Same concept I followed with medicine. if I figured out how a specific part works, then I can figure out how to repair it. A gunshot wound to the left shoulder can be fixed just like a jammed copier."

"I'm lucky, in a way, that my current commanding officer truly does not check the maintenance reports I file. I'm not even on the maintenance team. I just decided to take the printer apart and rebuild it. For like, the fuck of it."

UHHH I am afraid that one day I will be faced to pick between the few, small relationships I have developed, or my occupation, or my safety, and I fear that I will choose my safety AGAIN. I fear I have not CHANGED. THAT I would choose MYSELF. AGAIN.

Luxein is a predecessor to my limeblood Ziolah, who has existed for a long time. While Luxein in general is fairly new, the basis for his design (Ziolah) has existed for a lot longer than several people have been in the community!

Ziolah in general is also a very good character that I adore <3

here’s Dia’s face btw he’s a cutie!!!!!!!!!

his name’s Jodiah but he goes by Dia! He’s related to Ziolah & Luxein by blood but is legally a Monark, having been raised by Beloved. He’s only truly permitted to be in the Fleet BECAUSE of Beloved, basically giving those in charge more control over Beloved himself. It helps that Dia has the same electrokinesis that Zi and Luxe have, but a little stronger. He wears a mask to have more control over the passive calming ability his face has, and to deepen his voice. troll hrt did not lower it much so the mask does it for him :) When he makes eye contact without the mask’s screen, trolls are influenced by his lime powers and are either sedated or trust him more. He’s required to always keep covered. 

his mask connects to like a lil “port” on the back of is head, and helps keep track of the electricity in his body. if it gets dangerously low, he’ll pass out. if it gets too high, he risks a heart attack or exploding.

i never talk abt my trolls’ strifes but i do think of many of them.... some are like super obvious right? luxein is a mechanic, he uses big wrenches! bruuno is ex-crime, he has guns! leo’s canes can either be swords or guns and he can use either! chow is a troll mma fighter, he uses his fists! ziolah is like a blacksmith, she uses a big ass hammer!

and then theres like. harlow is a doctor, whose strife is a chainsaw. kam is an ex-mma fighter and now a baker, many good options...but he uses a crowbar. nutmeg makes poisons but she uses quills. cythers got a big strong alien to help but he just prefers being a rabid little chihuahua man
