Android Rant.

My first tumblr post and it has to be a rant.  Maybe some good will come of it?  Doubtful...because I have scoured the internet looking for help to no avail.

I purchased a Samsung Tab S for a whole lot of money, then added the nifty little keyboard.  Let me start by saying that this is very nice hardware.  And I’m very pleased with the keyboard, in spite of being rather tiny, my fingers fly on that thing.  HOWEVER......

First, I discovered widgets.  What are they?  Giant icons?  The ones supplied by Samsung never updated - there was a picture of Middle Eastern Men in the back of a truck with guns hoisted to Allah.  I don’t want to see this, not ever, and I wish I could scour my brain to eliminate this picture from it.  I lost patience right away and “deleted” all widgets and half the “included” apps.  BLOATWARE to the MAX!!!!

But I digress - I could make this a never-ending rant.  My current and most pressing concern involves email.

Is there a decent email program for Android?  Answer:  NO.  If I’m wrong, will someone please set me right?  PLEASE?

Decent = spell check with red underlines and suggestions.  NOT AUTO CORRECT!  NOT SUGGESTIONS AS I TYPE!  I have that on my iPhone, and I do not like it, which is one reason I got an Android Tablet!

Decent = ability to sort email inbox into ascending date/time order.  When I say this, I mean it has to not only sort it into this order, but allow me to access it that way, not constantly jump back to the newest email.  Read email 1, delete, read email 2, delete - NOT read email 1, jump to email prior, reposition to read email 2, delete,  jump to email prior.  This drives me out of my mind.

Decent = a contacts list that doesn’t come from a non-existent android phone.  A Contacts list that can be <gasp> edited!  Where contacts can be manually Added, Edited and Deleted!

Decent = email downloaded until system resources (extensive on this thing) are exhausted.  Why is it, the email programs only seem to download 25 or so emails?  Since I actually enjoy reading what people write IN ORDER, the way email downloads is important.  Now it downloads the MOST CURRENT RECEIVED 25, and sorts them ascending.  So if I have more than 25 email waiting, I am going to get email in the wrong order! 

I suppose it’s too much to ask to do email on a tablet that cost me more than most laptops would.  However I feel I will surely lose my mind if I try to do so.

Any help out there?  I doubt it.

Well, just trying out this Tumblr thing...my gal Am set it up for me long ago and I’ve never tried to use it.  We’ll see if anything happens here.
