She’s looking over the new shoes she had been given when she notices that Ikuto is no longer by her side. She had laughed when she noticed the big red hearts on the shoes but she couldn’t deny how much she loved them. Ikuto had teased her as always as she opened them, but she knew that he was happy to know she liked them.

How long has it been since they started living together? She remembered a year after graduating high school, in college and trying to decide what kind of future she wanted. She thought about him often, wondering when he’d return. He told her he’d be back when she was an adult and here she was. Nineteen and aging and feeling lonesome.

No longer where the charas around either. They were there, with her always, but time had caused them to fade from her view. She was becoming an adult and realizing her dreams, working towards a future that she could only dream of, but it was lonesome when she thought about them. Even with them there in her heart, she was alone.

No, not alone. She had her friends still. Things had changed, but they also stayed the same. People came and went. It was a few months before she saw Ikuto again that Kukai and Utau announced they were engaged. She wondered if she’d be able to do the same one day. Years later and, yes, she still loved him. Had loved him as she got older and dated and loved. It came back to him in the end and she wondered if it was false hope to keep hanging on, but Amu didn’t want to give up.

Not on him.

“Hey. You still there Amu?”

She blinked as she looked up. She had been staring intensely as the sneaker still clutched in her hands. Ikuto had an amused smile on his face, but she could see the small flickers of concern there too. She gave him a bright smile, standing up to pull him into a hug.

“Where else would I be?”

How long ago? Two years? Yes, now that she was thinking about it. He had done it on Christmas Eve, although even now she isn’t sure if that was intentional or if it just happened. Although, in their lives few things ‘just happened’.  Regardless, he came back into her life. Changed, but the same. Just as she was.

It has taken her breathe away when she had seen him. Standing there and giving her a look like he had been searching everywhere for something and had finally found it.

The look he was giving her now was fond, although the amused smile lingered on his lips. The morning had passed by easily and soon they’d be heading out to see his family and then their friends. A busy day ahead, but right now was theirs.

Amu could see the mistletoe as they moved towards the door, hand in hand and she pulled on his to get him to stop. She pointed upwards and then pulled him down into a kiss. He seemed surprised by it, but soon returned it.

“I should have known you’d try to get me under the mistletoe.”

It was sweet. Just as that kiss was then and all that came after. It had been a Christmas gift that was beyond words when he returned and she promised to treasure each moment afterwards. As he pulled her in for another kiss, turning the quiet morning into one of quiet laughter and soft words, she wouldn’t trade what happened for anything.

‘Merry Christmas Amu.’

ahh thank you!! Its an Oc i’ve not drawn since I made him and i’ve spent all that time trying to think of a concept and I think i finally got it, only its not something i regularily, if ever, draw. 

@hurraaid gave me an art idea for him and nightwing so i finally decided it was time to design him up, i spent way too much time looking at deep sea creatures, kaiju from pacific rim and crocodiles for this.

As for her Spring Festival attire....... Tbh, it changes every year to match her family ^^ Someday I’ll settle on a very tree-nymph-like adorned-with-nature design for her, with Actual bunny ears like Lady Koto from Kyousougiga or antlers like a Shishigami (the Forest Guardian from Princess Mononoke, or like Xerneas from Pokemon), but..........

Really, anything spring-like goes. A fancy pastel frilled dress to match Marx’s aesthetic, a bunny suit similar to Camilla’s, or something nymph-like...... anything goes ^^
