ANGEL ISLAND October 2

As soon as they land on the previously floating island, Knuckles clocks Sonic in the face, making him drop all of the Chaos Emeralds he has.

Once Knuckles spots how dull the Emeralds are, he yells a storm at Sonic. Sonic crankily yells back that it’s all Eggman’s fault that this happened, he just fell for his bait. Knuckles laughed at this, calling Sonic feeble minded, but Sonic retorts that Knucklehead has fallen for his lies way more times than he has. Chip looks confused and scared as the 2 go quickly from fighting words to fists and kicks. Tails just looks tired, quickly breaking up the fight by reminding Knuckles that they’re here because he sent him a call about the Master Emerald acting strange.

While waiting for Tails to finish running a diagnosis on the Master Emerald, Sonic got bored and challenged an arm wrestling competition with Knuckles. After the arm wrestling, Sonic goes off and gives Chip a tour of Angel Island.

(You play as Sonic arm wrestling Knuckles, Chip is the referee.

The objective is to be faster than Knuckles can react when Chip says 'Go!' If you're faster than Knuckles' reaction time, then you win! If not, he absolutely destroyed you at arm wrestling.

And there is no cost to entering the mini game, but there is a risk/ reward situation.

If you win, you collect the rings Knuckles drops from the damage, if Knuckles wins, you lose some rings from taking damage.

You can enter the mini game at any time outside of playing acts after you make it to Angel Island.)

Tails and Knuckles go to the Master Emerald Temple to run a diagnostic. Turns out, the Master Emerald has power, but it seems to be locked away for some reason. So it’s basically just a glowing gemstone at the moment, unless you have a connection with it like Knuckles, but it only sounds like muffles to him at the moment.

Knuckles realizes that Tails is worried about something else, but he’s not sure what. But instead of asking and possibly making the kit uncomfortable (like he has done before), he just simply pet the kit’s head and purrs (Knuckles' purrs are very low). It always seems to help him relax.

Meanwhile, Sonic and Chip are having a tour of the floating island, with the final stop being one of the many Chao Gardens there. Chip immediately takes a liking to the place, and the Chao like him too. They all eat plenty of fruit and play around until Sonic gets a message from the communicator that it’s time to head back to the Temple.

When Sonic and Chip return, they catch Knuckles and Tails trying to find a way to recharge the Chaos Emeralds. The theory is that when the Chaos Emeralds are recharged, the Master Emerald might unlock its power and connections again.

Knuckles tries to remember an ancient writing he read once while patrolling Angel Island years ago, but Eggman destroyed it when he crash landed on the island back in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. He does recall something about Gaia healing the Emeralds though. Sonic pops in saying he heard Eggman talk about the ‘Gaia Manuscripts’, but he isn’t too sure since he was in a lot of pain at the time. Tails has a bright idea.

Tails races back to the Tornado, explaining that he met a Professor in Spagonia who specializes in researching the Gaia Legends, if anyone can help them with this predicament, it’s him. Knuckles and Chip straggle behind, with Knuckles grumbling that Tails should really stop getting these traits from Sonic. (Knuckles joined the party!)

This joke made me laugh since it's true, in later games Knuckles did seem to just stop protecting the Master Emerald.

Of course with recent releases he has gone back to doing his job.

Even Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022) has the three of them all vow to watch over it.

Possible Silver/Echidna/Ancient connections

In Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood there is another tribe of echidnas called the Nocturnus Clan. The Nocturnus Clan was incredibly technologically advanced and nearly conquered the world thousands of years ago before they were trapped in another dimension with powerful alien races by an entity called the Argus.

This game and the stuff in it is considered non-canon now due to legal issues that we are definitely not here to talk about but it was canon when it came out and different echidna tribes are referenced in Sonic Frontiers. The ancient portal technology in that game is also similar to the gear themed technology used by the Nocturnus Clan. So there's hope of Nocturnus or a rewritten version of them still being canon. Silver has many similarities to the Nocturnus clan and their creations.

Silver is visually similar to Imperator Ix, the leader of the Nocturnus Clan (Especially the cuffs which are similar to Silver's)

The patterns on Silver's gloves and cuffs are also similar to the ones in Nocturne and the Cyberspace Portals in Sonic Frontiers.

The convex patterns on Silver's cuffs can be found throughout Nocturne.

Silver's front quills have a similar structure to the head crests of the Gizoids created by the Nocturnus Clan.

The big quills on the back of Silver's head are similar to the tentacles that Chaos and The Ancients have on the back of their heads.

Silver's big quills seem to have blood vessels? He puts bandages on them in Sonic Channel artwork and gets blood stains on them in IDW. Maybe they are tentacles?

Sonic Team has foreshadowed connections with visual similarities before. In Shadow The Hedgehog before you find out that Shadow is part Black Arms you can see throughout the game that the Black Arms have red patterns like Shadow and in Sonic Unleashed before you find out that the Werehog is a portion of Dark Gaia you can see that Dark Gaia monsters have the same stretchy arms and attack patterns as the Werehog.

One of the alien races trapped in Twilight Cage with the Nocturnus Clan in Sonic Chronicles called the Voxai has psychic powers like Silver. They have the psychic ability to fly like Silver and control minds.

One of the leaders of the Voxai named Leucosia has the same colors as Silver's powers and patterns similar to Silver's PK Marks.

The only named place in Silver's (good) future that we've seen is Onyx Island in Sonic Rivals. Onyx Island is actually the future version of Angel Island which is the home of the Knuckles Clan, The Master Emerald and Sky Sanctuary. Sky Sanctuary also has advanced ancient technology and patterns similar to the ones on Silver's gear.

We don't know how connected to Onyx Island Silver is but it is the first place we see him after the reset in 06.

This could just be because of his powers but Silver is very upper body oriented. He never kicks like Sonic and Shadow do. Whenever Silver does get physical he always punches things which makes his fighting style more similar to Knuckles and the echidnas than his fellow hedgehogs.

Cyber Sonic's eyes are similar to the eyes Silver has in concept art.

My little comic about Knuckles, a Chao, and Rouge is ready, I hope you like it and I hope I can do more little comics like this in the future.

EDIT: Guys, thanks for all the support you have given this comic, it got a lot more likes than I thought it would, I really appreciate it. But I feel that I must clarify one detail, I did not make this comic with the intention of shipping, it was more with the intention of showing a tender side of Knuckles and to humiliate Rouge a bit, which, I must admit, is something of a guilty pleasure for me. I really don't like shipping at all, I especially dislike those that include Sonic like sonamy or sonadow, I'm one of those fans who think that official characters should always remain just friends. I'm telling you this just so you won't be disappointed if you don't see shipping in my future comics because I really want to keep drawing little stories like this but my main focuses are always adventure, fun, self-discovery and growth. I hope you give me a chance and read my content anyway, I know I can give you something entertaining to pass the time. Thanks for your time

Random sonic headcanons

Sonic does have a house, but he only uses it to store his things and basically never spends time in it

Mighty and Ray haven't appear in modern sonic because mighty is somehow still missing and ray is searching for him

In the future, since there's no longer equidnas, silver is now the guardian of angel/onix island

Also, every time he goes back to the past is because the master emerald shows him a vision of it and he goes to check if everything if ok

The chaotix only have 2 rooms in the house and espio sleeps in the sofa

Mighty is the one who gave the cowboy/ treasure hunter hat to knuckles

Metal sonic actually died/was destroyed in back in rivals 2. The one that appears in team sonic racing is a prototype of eggman to try to rebuild him, but he's not complete and has no AI programed yet

Speaking of. Eggman nega died (left to die by espio-) in the ifrit dimension in the same game

The early concept of sonic in a band actually happened early in the timeline. So, vector and sonic know each other, but since they're really not longer friends they pretend like they don't recognize each other

The only ones who remember sonic 06 are sonic, Elise (partially) and blaze (partially/regained her memory in generations)

Mephiles/solaris didn't died when Elise blew up the flame, he just lost his corporeal form and now he's exclusively an omnipresent being

Charmy bee is literally god /j

Classic sonic isn't mute, he simply refused to talk in generations-forces because he was annoyed and hated almost everyone (look at the rescue friends cutscenes from classic POV, he looks pissed)

Omega is still pretty much alive by silver's future, shadow not so much

Sonic is terrible at videogames, he ragequits every single time after 3 minutes of picking the control

Surprisingly, the only one good with handling Money on team chaotix is Charmy. Espio wastes it all in gambling and Vector gets scammed 24/7

while yes knuckles takes his job of being the guardian of the ME seriously i think knuckles is just allowed to be bitter about his circusmtances

knuckles is an orphan who had to raise himself and has to protect this POWERFUL gemstone thing, his home, his culture, and even the ppl around him safe 24/7

knuckles is only 16. 16. he’s been doing this since he was 9. he literally wants to be connected to his ppl and culture so bad in frontiers he exclaims that when he FINALLY finds another piece of his people he CAN’T loose it

i want knuckles just to be upset of how this fate was just thrown upon him and how he can’t afford to be reckless or carefree like his friends. he had to grow up so fast

it doesn’t even have to be a big sobbing thing either. it can just be a quiet rage vent thing

knuckles is gonna be trapped on that island until the day he dies

and that’s. an extremely upsetting thought.

it’s a prison and he could leave anytime he wants, but won’t.

If Knuckles was never found by Eggman or Sonic & Tails, he easily could’ve been forgotten to time, had they never discovered the emeralds.

The last of the echidnas died doing what he did from birth. No name, no birthday, no reason to keep track of time, but a duty to protect something that was never hunted for. A worthless effort in the end with a life left unlived.

Maybe they’d find his body after long, but with no identification or documentation on him, “Knuckles” only becomes the title in an archeologist research paper.

They would never know his purpose, or why his body is the only one there, or why his body is much more recent than the extinction of Echidnas.

They would never know his name, or what happened to his people. They would never know of the boy who inherited a world on his lone shoulders.

Theories are theories, but the truth would never be known.

Maybe had they known, things wouldn’t be such a mess.

The Master Emerald would probably end up being a tourist attraction because when they tried to remove it, the island started going down.

The body would have no grave, just a glass case for people to look in and wonder what kind of life these bones lived.
