Moving on to Better Things...

I finally quit my job at a mainstream (meaning typically white) organization, and their reactions to me leaving solidified why I left in the first place. The only time they recognized my work was when I wrote blog posts about the black experience, even though I did many other things but just not up to their standards. I already felt that these people tokenized and silenced me but, I can't lie, it hurt to witness that my paranoid thoughts were true and that I was just a prop for them. NO MORE. I'm moving the fuck on and I know I don't need those people. They probably feel sorry for me, but little do they know that my next move involves black liberation, intersectionality, humble animal rights work, etc., things they never considered doing and most likely won't EVER do. I won't let their actions toward me slow me down. I'm picking my black ass up with middle fingers in the air, and will succeed in all their faces. Of course their approval means nothing, but imagine how satisfying it would be to see that their final token black person moved onto better things💖💜💙
