Ahhhh, thank you so much, that's so sweet of you!!!!! This is very much the most ambitious project I've taken on, both in terms of length and complexity. AND I'm on a deadline for the event and getting content to the fantastic artist that working with for the event, @the-purple-duck, which is definitely part of the fun!

I don't really have a set word/chapter count I'm aiming for tbh. I have the whole thing outlined out, and in my head I sort of conceptualize it as roughly four or five sections/acts just based on vibes and story beats, but they aren't necessarily equally long so I couldn't really extrapolate from that, like "Oh, well, the first act is 12k, so times 5 is 60k" or anything.

I suspect the next few acts will be longer, but I also suspect writing them will go faster because I won't be in my own way quite as much - I've been fighting against my tendency to get hung up on accuracy, as the first part is set in a field that I used to work in lol. I keep having to remind myself "It's fic! It doesn't have to be perfectly accurate! And actually, the entire premise is highly implausible so that ship has already sailed!" lol. But within that, I'm waiting to see how the rest of it shapes up before I decide how I'm gonna chunk it up for chapters or whatever, I really haven't been considering that part of it! The first act is also super different from the rest of them in terms of POV and voice and structure, which has been really, really, really fun to play around with, but I also think I have to sort of factor that into how I divvy things up just because I think it's going carry a bit more attentional weight, if that makes sense.

(Also, oh my gosh, I totally get feeling awkward about starting conversations with people so no worries! irl I'm also super nervous about that kind of thing, but for some reason on tumblr I'll just start conversations with anyone lol. Honestly, if I took a poll, probably 95% of the people I talk to on here would be like "idk man, she just showed up in my DMs one day" lmao. So what's the plot of the Rift Apart Au? Is Doctor Nefarious going to double cross Emperor Nefarious?

Uhhh oh boy thanks for the ask anon, I'll try to explain as best as I can but for all the shit I talk about how I was disappointed by the ending, I can't write a coherent plotline to save my life (it's why I draw instead), and any of this is subject to change because it's still in development and I'm indecisive, so here we go

(Spoilers for the AU I guess? Even though I already made art of the final fight because I’m impatient lmao. If anyone would want to look at content for it blind here's your warning and I'm also putting a read more so I don't flood everyone's dashboards because I just word dumped 1700+ words, I am not joking, turn back while you still can it’s like a minific here whoops)

Basically, the AU is centered around a Nef redemption arc happening within RA as I mentioned in my other post, or at least it's focused around his internal struggle over whether to give up villainy or not. So RA is rewritten to keep and expand on Nef's development from A4O (might even include rewrites/expanding on events pre-RA to better pace everything).

The first half of RA is largely the same with Nefarious stealing the Dimensionator so he can always win and all that but to add onto what's stated in-game (and also because I made a bunch of headcanons pre-release I'd like to use), Nef is stealing the Dimensionator as a last-ditch attempt at accomplishing something because after the events of A4O there's been a small seed of doubt over why he's still doing the typical villain song and dance growing inside him no matter how much he tries to kill it.

From his supposed retirement over the period of time between A4O and RA, Nef shows signs of questioning what his motivation is anymore after getting a taste of the other side by helping the heroes, even if it was under strained circumstances. He spends most of his time just existing, attempting to build up resources and troops for another siege against the galaxy, but his slow progress isn't just because he's low on bolts. Lawrence, ever the dutiful voice of reason and Nef’s only true friend, asks what's wrong. Nef brushes his question off, but Lawrence is already used to his employer being stubborn and continues to pry, eventually asking if his stay on Magnus is the cause of his troubles. Being absolutely correct, Lawrence is kicked out of the room by an enraged doctor until he inevitably needs his help again.

This routine continues with similar conversations happening over the years and their relationship becoming strained until one day where Lawrence reaches the root of Nef’s problems, that being he’s actually considering giving up being a villain, the only role and way of life he’s known until his time on Magnus. Not wanting to confront his inner turmoil any longer, this prompts Nef to push Lawrence away, using the excuse of giving him paid paternity leave because after A4O, Nefarious has softened up a little bit no matter how much he denies it. 

With the last reminder of Magnus gone (Nef disregarding the photo still folded up in his wallet, because as long as he pretends it doesn’t exist he doesn’t need to convince himself to throw it away, look at it, end up spending a half hour sitting at his desk considering his conversations with the heroes and the way he might’ve actually smiled at times, and give up and put it back to be forgotten until he sees it again), Nef hears of the Dimensionator being presented during the Heroes Day Parade and realizes this is the perfect opportunity to finally prove that all his decades of villainy was worth it and win.

So Nef takes over his alternate self’s position, and he’s having the time of his life! At first. After some time spent utilizing all of the new tech and resources he has at his fingertips and reveling in his triumph, the initial rush of power fades and he realizes he feels...empty. He’s finally achieved what he’s described in many a monologue over the years and yet he feels nothing. This is what he wanted, shouldn’t he be happy? Absolutely ecstatic? The only thing really motivating him right now is the annoyance that his archenemies are in this dimension with him and aiming to take away the victory he’s finally got his hands on (even if his grip is loose and halfhearted). He’s gotten this far, he should make this victory stick and get rid of those pests once and for all. He has the power of a galactic empire’s worth of warbots and gunships, he should be able to take down his nemeses and their alternate counterparts easily. But somehow the heroes evade his every attack and it isn’t until the Emperor’s assistant, with a line of questioning too similar to his assistant back home, suggests that maybe the problem is him.

Sick of dealing with forced introspection even in another reality, Nef heads out to finally get rid of his problems and deal with the heroes himself. We all know how that ends but this time throughout the fight, Nef begins to break down mentally as well as physically, trying so desperately to win and hold onto his victory because this is the best he’s ever gotten and he can’t go back to just being some loser of a supervillain. But even with his best efforts, he still goes down.

Enter the Emperor, who’s just learned that some imposter has stolen his throne and lost to the Lombax rebel under his name and he’s furious. He’s about to dump the impostor into some abandoned dimension like the trash he is, but the other robot offers his assistance in defeating the rebels because even if he has to beg for mercy, Nef isn’t going to let it end here. Emps looks at the robot who must be so desperate to be like him to look so similar, thinks “why not?” and takes him with him.

Damaged from the fight with the heroes, Nef shuts down as Emps takes the time to repair him. He also takes the time to look through his memory banks because some deranged fan of his would be perfectly fine with providing the Emperor with whatever information could be used to stamp out the Resistance, right? And that’s how Emps learns the robot isn’t trying to be him. He is him. An inferior, pathetic and weak version of him, and Emps realizes he has a new, interesting project lying in front of him. Exterminating rebels is fun and all, but with the slow pace it’s going he needs something to entertain him in the time leading up to his complete domination of the galaxy and turning this loser into an evil overlord befitting the Nefarious name will be an amusing challenge. Nef wakes up back in working order and finds his alternate self that was about to kill him without a second thought smiling at him, saying the Doctor just hit paydirt taking over his position in his absence.

The second half of the game starts here and as the Resistance tries to fight back as in canon, Emps spends his time teaching Nef how to be the “best” version of himself, crushing any doubts from earlier that arise and encouraging him to prove himself by sending him out to deal with the heroes with his own hands. This proves to be a double-edged sword in a way as Nef interacting with the heroes keeps some of those doubts alive and even flourishing underneath Nef’s newfound drive to prove himself. Emps can see this too, and after a particular disappointment, Emps gives him a final push, verbally (and maybe physically) tearing into Nef and questioning why he can’t do something as simple as kill his enemies, why he’d even think about giving up on the life of villainy he’s meant for, what’s he good for if he can’t even accomplish that, why he’s useless, worthless, trash.

Nef hits his breaking point, pushing himself to the extreme to defeat the heroes and prove to himself, the Emperor, the heroes, and the universe that he’s worth something. And he does. He actually takes out most of the remaining Resistance members while Emps deals with the others, until all that’s left are his archenemies. And as he gains the upper hand and succeeds in sending Ratchet and Clank to Zordoom, the look on the two heroes’ faces make him realize he just destroyed what faith, from Magnus and maybe even just a few minutes before, they had in him left and he goes back to the Emperor’s office with a heavy weight in his processors rather than the vindictive happiness and satisfaction he expected. The Emperor greets him with the widest smile he’s ever seen and for the first time since their alliance/mentorship/Nef doesn’t care what to call it anymore he tells Nef that he knew he could do it if he just tried. He’s proud of him.

Disgust fills his circuits at that and Nef realizes how far he’s fallen, how this isn’t what he needed or wanted at all, how much he’s royally fucked up. But he also realizes that for once, he isn’t going to follow the path everyone else says he should anymore, even if the only couple of people left who believed in him no longer do. So while Emps is rejoicing over the annihilation of his enemies and subsequently experiencing his own existential crisis, Nef sneaks off to begin dismantling an empire from the inside out, starting with helping a certain space rat and his backpack break out of prison and getting a reality warping gun out of his alternate self’s hands.

Aaaaaaaand that’s all I’ve got for now! Like I said, I’m still working on the plot and anything I just said is up to change, but the basic gist of the rest of the AU is extending the second half of RA with Nef betraying Emps to help the heroes figure out how to fix the dimensions and take down the Emperor, even if the heroes don’t want him helping either. It definitely won’t be easy and although Nef has realized he truly doesn’t want to be a villain anymore, he’s still Nef and that includes him being a stubborn, egotistical jerk. But now he’s a stubborn, egotistical jerk that’s aware he actually (begrudgingly) has a heart and he’s done resigning himself to the role the universe, including himself, thinks is all he’s good for.

The rest of the AU is also focused around Nef not only moving on from villainy, but realizing he actually has the potential to become a hero and truly redeem himself and prove he can be a good person while keeping the traits that make him who he is, rather than just settle for retiring and living the rest of his artificial lifespan in whatever remote sector he finds to avoid getting arrested. Because I don’t want Nef to just become the evil uncle that shows up sometimes, I want to see him learn to better himself and work for it without sacrificing who he is at the same time.

I AM IN TEARS. 'field of flowers' literally ripped my heart out of my chest and trampled on it merciless. i absolutely love historical fiction (or more, royal aus) especially those with the "forbidden love" or "star-crossed lovers" trope and 'field of flowers' blew me away. yk, i thought 'fall from grace' was already heartbreaking enough but 'field of flowers' somehow made me shed painful tears at the end. the fact that one of kita's dreams was to make an entire flower field for his wife, the one he truly loves, and that he did one for reader at the end.....tears falling, heart broken, head empty. but i'm glad that they both kind of got to "fulfill" their dreams in one way or another.

and also; you have such a beautiful way of describing sceneries. like e.g. when the two of them sat under the tree, watching the sun set, i could imagine it myself as well. it was such an amazing experience AHHH I LOVED IT. or also when reader wanted to help out kita on the field, idk why but that was just so cute to me lmao <33

also a question (sort of question), they never actually got that intimate with e/o (except for that night) or outright confessed or anything right? idk why, but i actually kind of liked that, it fit the tragedy of the story and the characters really well. like the two of them obviously knew their boundaries but still had mutual understanding of their feelings for each other, that were also "confirmed" in their last night together. HEARTBREAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL.

maybe i'm also interpreting this wrong, but it was a wonderful and amazing read nevertheless. anyways; i wish you the most beautiful day/ night! 💗💗💗

and yep, they were never that intimate with each other !! in the original outline they were supposed to make love before she left but i don’t think that would fit their characters very well, so i shifted it into them silently loving each other and that their relationship were more as friends !! and yeah, they knew their boundaries 😭 plus, kita really loves the simplicity of his life and y/n knew that so she didn’t say anything else. they didn’t need to anyway - both of them know each other enough to know the other party feels the same way, but some feelings are best just felt than said out loud. your interpretation is right tho, i am very happy you got the message of that !! i really wanted to try writing about love that wasn’t entirely romantic or love that builds platonically at first and i’m glad you noticed that 🥺💕 thank you for this, diamond anon, and i hope you have an even better day / night !!

anon you’ve unleashed the entire outline for my lardo/snowy fic in bullet point form bc idk if i’ll ever have time to write it and i want to share this idea with the world. i typed it up from my journal in a feverish hurry today before my first class so i’m gonna have to fix the typos as i go LMAO, the things i do for y’all (jk i would have fixed them anyway)

lardo, ‘pong god’ according to tater, meets and befriends snowy through tater. snowy is starstruck because he’s heard so much about lardo. lardo is starstruck because she has more of a celebrity-admire-from-afar crush on snowy than she would like to admit (them interacting at the cup party at jack’s place was fun, lardo absolutely annihilated tater at pong and grinned at snowy, who was casually observing, with more boldness than she felt, and snowy’s heart went pitter patter god the nhl is really just frat bros on a salary isn’t it, you either have a weird hockey boner or a weird beer pong boner????? or you’re well-adjusted yikes. i don’t make the rules)

they bond over eyeliner and lardo redesigning snowy’s helmet, but over the course of her designing his helmet and them probably having more ‘consulting’ sessions than necessary, they really fall for each other (not just admire-from-a-distance) and are not looking forward to the helmet design being completed since it’s their only good excuse to talk to each other all the time. but through snowy lardo gets a couple other goalie helmet commissions and her design for snowy’s is so sick that falcs upper management commissions her to do a mural in the breakfast nook. lots of wings and ice and stuff like that and it’ll be fuckin badass. the most badass breakfast nook you’ve ever seen

and lardo’s not dumb so she accepts and crashes with jack and bitty while she’s in providence. and snowy winds up dropping by their place a lot. like a lot a lot. and he offers to help her get paint and get the nook all set up to be painted and then once they do that he’s like oh i guess i should leave you to it then and lardo is like no stay! i like having someone to talk to while i paint and snowy is like oh cool! and internally dying because he gets to spend more time here

the whole falcs team knows about this by the way. tater is so proud that he introduced them. or caused them to meet each other. whatever. and george also knows because nobody can keep a secret from her. people keep trying to get jack to spill whatever he knows about lardo but he’s not telling. which they take as a cautiously optimistic sign because come on they all love lardo and if jack’s refusing to tell then there must be something to tell right?

lardo finishes the mural eventually (i don’t know how long it takes to paint things) and snowy hangs out in the nook as much as he can. he gets chirped for it both subtly and not so subtly, in lardo’s presence and out of it. there are definitely other falcs popping in and out and winking really exaggeratedly at snowy. he’s trying to ignore them which is pretty easy because focusing on lardo is easy

and when lardo finishes it, snowy actually doesn’t realize for a bit— like, she stops painting and they talk as she takes off her smock and puts her brushes down and stuff, and then she comes and sits down with him and they’re still talking, and at one point snowy’s like wait you’re not painting are you taking a break? and lardo’s like oh what no i’m done actually and snowy (dying inside) is like oh ‘swawesome (because lardo got him into saying it and now he can’t stop, tater mocks him constantly)

but obviously both of them are kinda like :/ about the mural actually being done because lardo doing art for the falcs is an excellent excuse for them to spend ridiculous amounts of time together as long as snowy doesn’t have like. practice. you know. his job.

so then lardo’s like fuck it and she’s like hey snowy can i ask you something and he’s like sure what and she’s like (summon the confidence you feel after you beat nhl players at literally anything, you got this) do you. want to go on a date. with me sometime? and snowy’s like oh FUCK yeah and it’s great

they get chirped so much. marty’s like wow we need to keep the single guys away from samwell clearly holy shit. and that’s just the BEGINNING. but i’m having trouble coming up with good chirps rn so if anyone else supplies some i’ll love you forever

snowy isn’t huge for a hockey player but lardo is tiny for an adult human so the size difference is still amusing, especially if he’s wearing his goalie pads. they’re fucking adorable. they’re both good at doing their own eyeliner but they start doing it for each other just because it’s nice. sickening. that’s so cute. (that last bit was me providing commentary on my own ideas at midnight in a superhero themed journal)

things lardo does: redesign snowy’s helmet whenever she’s bored and has a new idea, fist bump snowy probably more than is normal for two people in a romantic relationship but jack and bitty and ollie and wicks would beg to differ, feel extremely relieved that all the falcs SOAPs aren’t just identical supermodels and proceed to make them all love her, give herself blue highlights once just for fun, scream ‘goalie interference’ every time something happens near snowy in a game that she doesn’t like, text snowy little things she sees or thinks of throughout the day that she thinks he would like

things snowy does: brag constantly about lardo to every other goalie he knows, make food for lardo when she’s busy working and bring it to her, think lardo’s blue highlights are the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen, can’t wait to introduce her to Everyone He Knows but is simultaneously so nervous whenever he does introduce her to someone because he wants everyone to like her so much, intentionally leave shirts and hoodies around for her to steal, not play her in pong because he stands zero chance

neither of them talks a lot but they learn to read each other through the most minute facial expressions, which makes the charity events that snowy has to go to (and brings lardo with him) much more fun. and they’re both such a specific combination of chill and chaotic that i think they would have a lot of late night taco runs, long hours of snowy just watching lardo paint because it’s relaxing, and relentlessly messing up each other’s hair constantly

The Invisible Girl [sonamae]: OK SO it’s Hagakure-centric, with background Hagakure x Shouji and KiriBaku. My favorite part about this is that the romance is important, but not the focus. The focus of this oneshot is on the family she creates with Bakugou, Satou, Todoroki, Kirishima, and Tokoyami. Go read it, it’s great. BIG BROTHER BAKUGOU FTW!!!!!

Ground Zero [sonamae]: Speaking of Big Brother Bakugou, this is the next oneshot in the same series as the above one, but from Bakugou’s pov. Again, the romance is important but not a focus, and that’s so fucking refreshing and I love it so mUCH idk what else to tell you. Just go read these two. The rest of the series isn’t complete, but these two specific fics ARE, hence why they’re in the Complete section.

Lighting The Beacon [M3zzaTh3M3z]: This is one of the first bnha fics I’ve ever read, and I’m so glad this was my introduction to the fandom!! It’s a pretty fluffy oneshot, starting off with Kiri asking Baku out and Baku rejecting him because “who ever heard of a gay hero?” Aizawa hears about that (the basics, no details like names or anything), and things…start to change. Mic says he’s married to a man (its Aizawa), All Might comes out as pan, ace Midnight…and at the end, Bakugou asks Kirishima out very publicly. It’s so near and dear to my heart, and it honestly deserves more attention than it gets.

You’re only relevant until you’re older (they’re gonna talk about you over and over) [futurehearts]: Pro-Heroes Red Riot and Ground Zero are happily married and Baku has a reputation to slowly destroy :D (he’s soft, mainly for his husband, and he knows it…and now so does the rest of the world lmaooo).

Love Notes [PurplePersnickety]: Kirishima gets really, REALLY sappy love notes on his desk for a week or two and works to figure out who it is (spoiler alert, it’s Bakugou being a Soft Bitch). When Kiri asks him about it, he confesses everything and they date in secret for six months before telling the whole class (oneshot).

Sonder [Maplefudge]: I bet this bitch thought she wouldn’t get a shout-out well guess what you write good and there’s nothing you can do about it This is the first work of maple’s I ever read, and it’s perf <3 I’m love. It’s a look at the “totally platonic” (how much sarcasm can I add to two words?) Kiribaku from members of the class, over the course of 13 chapters. It’s full of fluff, useless mutual pining, obliviousness, and “platonic bro kisses”. Read it if you need to scream at some useless gays.

Anger Management [Julietwasanidiot]: The entire fandom is gearing up for S4 by writing hurt/comfort KiriBaku post-raid fics, and I am HERE for it. Because of when it’s set though, there’s going to be spoilers so if you’re anime-only you migt want to steer clear of this one. It’s got an ICONIC rice-and-anger line, though.

Stupid Mistakes [lemxnfox]: Kirishima and Bakugou got in a fight! They fight a lot, but this fight they’ve been fighting for six months and the class is #OverIt. They concoct a plan to lock the two of them in a room and force them to make up– and they DO. Side ShinKami and TodoDeku.

No More Fragments [Ischemia]: Canon-compliant…to a degree. Shinsou takes his place as the Superior Purple in Class A, gets himself a boyfriend (Kaminari) and a squad (the Bakusquad)…and loses it. Or does he???? Canon-typical violence, side Kiribaku, mystery plot.

Caught In My Own Web [anxioussaliorsoldier]: SHINSOU IS IN 1-A!!!!! And he fucks up when trying to use his capture weapon lmao. Kaminari finds him and they recreate the iconic Spider-Man kiss…and then Shinsou passes out from the blood rushing to his head. It’s cute guys.

Be Selfish For Me [A_Reflective_Projection]: WARNING– the entire thing is Aizawa asking 1-A to be careful as pro heroes, by taking them to a hero graveyard. It’s painful. It’s sad (especially when Aizawa brings up a classmate of his who died in their first year as a pro). It ends bittersweet, and there’s some good Dadzawa content in there. The most present ship is Erasermic, and that only really makes an appearance in the last chapter.

Closer [MikeWritesThings]: Fluffy Erasermic, canon universe, where Aizawa starts calling in to Mic’s radio show cuz he misses him. It’s sweet af ❤️❤️

Meaningless Holiday [dysonQueer]: It’s a sweet Valentine’s Day fic, canon-compliant, with established Erasermic for the soul. I highly recommend it if you’re having a rough day and you need some feel-good fluff

Come Back Toe Me [Milligramme]: Aged-up, Pro Hero fic where Kiri has a shit day heroing, but he isn’t physically hurt. Not until he breaks his toe on the coffee table, that is. He can’t stop laughing, and Bakugou can’t stop worrying about his dumbass boyfriend.

Kiss Me Through The Screen [Ischemia]: Aged-up fic with ShinKami as the main focus and some side KiriBaku, but…uh, most of the Bakusquad aren’t full-time Heroes. Kami dropped out of UA completely, and Shinsou never went in the first place. So, Kaminari is working at Jirou’s cafe and works as a SFW camboy at night, while Shinsou is a teacher and watches the stream nightly. Later there’s a plot around a stalker, again please keep yourself safe Pineapple Anon!!

If I Don’t Act… [SilentNorth]: This is gritty and painful, but don’t worry! There’s a happy ending :D (I rarely read/write/recc pure angst, you’re safe here my child). Kiri is a college dropout working two jobs, living with Mina as his roommate, and with a hero complex the size of Texas. Enter art student Bakugou, who can save himself thank you very much. Some mention of depression/attempted suicide, as well as slightly less than canon-typical violence, please keep yourself safe and skip it if that’s going to trigger you, Pineapple Anon.

Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all [theroyalsavage]: A Kiribaku “10 Things I Hate About You” AU where Todoroki asks Kirishima to fake-date Bakugou so he can date Midoriya. Everything is going smoothly until Kirishima accidentally falls in love *gasp*!!

Hands Off! [PullingAllMighters]: Much like Kiss Me Through The Screen, Hands Off! is a non-canon compliant aged-up AU where not everyone is a full-time hero. Kiri is, Kami and Sero are his sidekicks, Ochako is in a different agency, and everyone else is doing Other Shit. Bakugou hasn’t revealed his full backstory yet, but it looks like he was a Pro Hero until a year or so ago when something bad happened and now he’s got PTSD. His old apartment building burned down so he’s living in Ochako, Momo, Jirou, and Mina’s guesthouse until he finds a job and another place to live. This has a fresh take on the hero system, and I really really enjoy it so far!! Fantasy AU, slowburn Kiribaku, and it’s. I can’t even sum it up. There’s too much. It’s too good. Game of Thrones WISHES it could be what BomH is. A Boy and his Dragon [VanHan]: Oh look, another fantasy AU. Have you figured out that I have a type yet? Kiribaku but the Kiribaku hasn’t really happened yet, cuz Bakugou is a literal child who got kidnapped and is probably gonna get sold. He doesn’t even know Kirishima is Kirishima, he just knows him as the cool dragon in the cage. This one just barely makes the SFW list, because there’s no explicit mention of fucking, but there’s a really really gross pedophile that shows up fairly early on and hasn’t died yet. There’s also graphic depictions of violence in the first chapter, and once you combine those two things I would absolutely understand if you decided to give this one a pass, too.

Everglow [Maplefudge]: ANOTHER fantasy AU?!?! In MY fic recc list?? It’s more likely than you think. This one just started, and it’s got that enemies-to-lovers shit going on. Dragons plus my favorite tropes = FUCK YEAH!!!

Crimson [Crocodillia]: I bet you thought I was done with the fantasy AU reccs, didn’t you? Well, HAVE ANOTHER!!! This one has strong HTTYD vibes, and I’ve literally never seen anyone try that before with these characters!! So far there’s only two chapters, but I am HOOKED and if you like HTTYD…you’re gonna like this, too.

Becoming Human [FoolishFortuna]: Demon!Bakugou becomes Human!Bakugou when he refuses to take a kid’s soul. I think we’re three chapters in and he just got to earth and met Kirishima, as well as a few holy people (Midoriya, Ochako, Iida, and I believe Tetsu). Now he gotta find his daughter and keep her safe. Kiribaku with some fairly graphic descriptions of torture and cannibalism in the second chapter, don’t read it if that’s gonna trigger you!! Also he pretty brutally rips apart the girl’s abusive parents.

Surviving for Second Chances [SilentNorth]: TWEWY Kiribaku AU!!! There’s some differences between the original game and the fic, for pretty obvious reasons (medium, objective, and character differences being a few), but this got me to FINALLY watch a playthrough of the game cuz I’m too broke to go and buy it myself!! Kirishima as Neku and Bakugou as Joshua, plus Mina as Shiki and TodoDeku as Rhyme and Beat. Canon-typical violence, and we just finished up Week 1!!

Love And Other Allergens [thefrailtyofgenius]: A Quirkless AU where Todoroki is a lawyer with a flower shop underneath his apartment. Todo finds out he’s allergic to one of the plants, buys a different bouquet every week instead of, yknow, asking for help like a normal human being (I say, knowing damn well I’d just buy allergy medication and not even try to figure out what I’m allergic TO), and accidentally falls in love with the cute (and absolutely fucking ripped) flower boy (Midoriya lmao). It’s LONG. The TodoDeku is extremely slowburn, and there’s a fuckload of side ships. An incomplete list: Erasermic, Kiribaku, ShinIida (Shinsou and Iida), and MomoJirou. Bonus Endeavor’s Bad Parenting, Midoriya Hisashi’s Bad Parenting, and both of those assholes getting locked up forever :D (I’m so serious about the length tho, it’s like 40 chapters or something).

Heartbeat Thunder [Shippeh]: This is one of the few ABO fics I’ll recc, because it’s not just “ooh heat sex fun times”. This has THOUGHT put into it. They’re confused kids goddamnit, let them be confused!!! Basically Kiri doesn’t ever want to rut so he’s suppressing everything about being an alpha, while Bakugou thinks that trying to hide from your secondary gender is stupid. Take a Chance On Me [FanficIsMyThing]: The other ABO fic I’ll happily recc. Kiri is an alpha which lets him be a hero, while Baku is an omega so he’s gotta be a vigilante until the laws get changed. They run into each other on patrol a few times, Baku helps Kiri and crew out a few times, and every time Kirishima *mysteriously* fails to catch the vigilante Chemical X. They haven’t actually fucked yet, but there’s been enough sexy times to put this squarely in NSFW territory. And it’s not just sex!! I don’t wanna spoil, but it’s good I swear.

Opposed to the Typical [Heronfem]: A model/fashion designer AU featuring HoH!Bakugou, model!Bakugou and designer!Kirishima, as well as a metric shitload of others. Basically Kiri is an intern with Fatgum who gets called to help another studio with their fitting, gets assigned to Bakugou, figures out he’s HoH and handles it like a champ. Because he does it so well, whenever Bakugou needs to get his measurements taken again, they immediately call for Kirishima. And ofc they gonna fall in love :3c But its more complicated than that, and I don’t wanna give too much away, but make sure that you pay attention to any trigger warnings at the start of the chapters!!!

hello it's me the romcom anon and i have another q! do you ever read your own fics and squeal/feel your heart flutter at certain pining scenes or moments of tension? almost as if you're reading someone else's work i suppose? if so (and if it's not too much trouble), which fics/scenes are they?

i will be honest and say that yes i do sometimes go back and reread my own fics after i’ve posted them - which i’m starting to realize more and more is a pretty normal thing to do - but it’s less like i’m reading someone else’s fic and more like,,,i don’t even know how to explain it honestly. like i’ll reread it as i’m writing it and then i’ll go through it a couple of times right after i post to look for mistakes i didn’t catch before posting, but once i’ve posted something i usually have to leave it alone for at least a few months before i can go back and reread it again. and by then i’ve forgotten some of the details so while i usually remember the main plot, there will sometimes be little lines of dialogue or adjectives or adverbs i don’t remember that are like little !!! moments as i’m reading

but like i just had this happen to me not too long ago, i forget what fic i was reading but it was in the context of a conversation between jake and amy and i was reading jake’s dialogue and in my head i was like “i should have used the word ‘rasped’ here” and then i got to the end of the line and i had written “...Jake rasped.” and i was like oh!! i did do that!! it sort of feels like that spiderman meme when there are two of them in an alley pointing at each other like !!!! same person !!!! when i wait long enough to forget little details like that but idk lmao

i haven’t really revisited it in a while just because i’m dumb and i feel guilty about not updating but!! one scene i reread a few times (and like fixated on bc i Really Liked It) was the fight scene in the second chapter of king and lionheart. mostly bc when i was outlining that chapter i think the only line i dedicated to the actual fight itself was “and then they have a crazy knife fight (good luck future me)” so i was proud that i was actually able to construct an entire fight from that lmao. i just!! really liked writing an amy that isn’t overthinking or anxious, who is so completely in the zone that she’s able to literally throw jake across the bar, fend off a trained assassin, chase that assassin out into the street after getting stabbed, and then immediately turns that feral part of her brain off upon remembering that jake is hurt and needs help

i’ve always liked to write scenes where one of them is hurt or otherwise in pain and the other is kind of stripped down to the most basic emotional response of needing to protect - when i first started writing i liked to put amy in physical danger and jake in emotional distress because of that, and also specifically because the show always has it the other way around, but in that scene i really enjoyed flipping my own go-to on its head and having amy be the ferociously protective/overworried one. that’s not really what you asked but any fic that can pull that dynamic off (with jake/amy in either position) Kills Me every time so those scenes are usually the ones i linger on, in my own fics and in other people’s lmao

AS FOR FLUFF i think i revisit don’t read the last page more than any other independent one-shot. i wouldn’t say that it’s one of my more popular fics or anything but i wrote it mostly out of self-indulgence, because i love the way taylor swift’s song new year’s day makes me feel and i wanted to see if i could write a fic that made me feel the same way. there are a few spots that are a little clumsy wording wise and i don’t know that i’m 100% satisfied with the ending, but overall rereading it makes me feel really really content and sort of weightless, which is exactly what i was going for

and i’m just now realizing that in both of those that i linked, amy’s arm is injured so like maybe there’s a pattern and maybe i’m the most predictable human on the planet

1. Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

OKAY SO. I have two.

 One is Of Love and War (as you’ve probably seen me complain about it LMAO), its a ShikaSaku enemies to lovers fantasy fic. It has super long chapters, a lot of world building, mystery and all that jazz. I’m on chapter 2 right now and have basically all of it outlined (about 12 chapts with a pro and epu) so i’m SO EXCITED to get to the fun parts. Making up the lore and writing it out, subtle world building and foreshadowing is so much fun with this fic, and i love putting our fav characters through some real shit and having them stumble out the other side either better or worse. my plan is to finish writing OL&W by june(ish) and get it out by then too! so hopefully i can stick to that timetable :D it’s also the first of a trilogy that i have planned,,, now when will the second and third book come into existence? not sure! hopefully i’ll be able to write it within a reasonable time HAHAHA

The second one is my original work that had been kicking around in my skull for years and i finally started writing it seriously last summer, got up to 30 chapters, and then i got busy and didn’t have time to continue it. So, i’mma revamp it and post it on AO3 one chap at a time after OL&W. That one also has a LOT of world building and i’m so fucking excited to start writing it again and putting it out there for you guys to read. It’s something i hold near and dear to my heart. The characters are so much fun, the plot is something i’m so proud of. POC female main characters, magic, flying cats, LGBTQ+ rep (because i, myself, is queer), pirates, mermaids, DRAGONS. Just. ugh i love it so much!!!! I could go on forever about it but imma stop now HAHAHAHA

this is from the third installment of War Torn and Ragged (The Beginnings of Peace and a Soft, Soft Life) i don’t really like the third one, but the war arc was my favorite thing to write from the little mini series. It just... i feel like it encompasses their relationship. They don’t try to change each other, they accept each other as the imperfect beings they are. They’re killers and to some extent they’re monsters because they... well, here (in war, on the battlefield) they enjoy it. They find it normal. And idk, this felt just really raw to write. 

9. Are you more of a drabble or a longfic kind of writer? Pantser or plotter? Do you wish you were the other?

Both! and Both! LMAO

It depends entirely on the fic, how much thought i’ve put into it, how serious i want it to be, ect ect. For WT&R no thoughts, just God Eater Sakura and Kakashi adopting three little brats. For a lot of the fics i post i just have an idea and go with it, i go back and edit or rewrite and boom, its done. For The Intimacy of Being Understood, i did like “progressive outlining” where i’d outline as i write kinda thing. For OL&W total outlining because im serious about it and a control freak.

As for the longfic/drabble; i do enjoy writing longer fics, they just give you more insight of the plot and characters and they’re fun to read. But i also do enjoy drabbles cause well, no plot needed, its just fun. So, i dip in a little of both and enjoy the hell out of it.

tea!! simply bc i can’t sleep if i drink coffee fjskfjsj. but that’s been happening with tea too so i haven’t even had tea recently 😭😭😭😭😭 flavour wise i think i like coffee more but also you get so much more variety with tea? hm. HAHA. hbu??
