Also redemption arcs contingent on trying to garner sympathy for a villain by showing how unfair it is that someone they really hurt won’t stop being angry at and distrustful of them are so lazy. Focus on having them understand the weight of their actions and who they’ve hurt and not how unfair it is that years of bad behavior have consequences.

Halloween Sleepover
Tumblr media
Cindy Burman x Plus Size reader
Warning(s) : Swearing
Word Count : 2082
Summary : The reader and JSA have a Halloween sleepover, with some love confessions for certain anti-hero
You stood on the doorstep of Courtney’s house, ready for the Halloween sleepover.
You knock at Courtney’s door.
“Y/n! You look awesome! Amazing costume!” Courtney said, opening the door in cat ears, a black dress over a green long sleeved shirt.
“Thank you! Court you look awesome too!” You said, smiling.
“Thank you! And feel at home, sit on the couch, or whatever! I still have a few more things to get ready. Do you mind getting the door if I’m not down here? Also, Rick has to do something else tonight so just us five!” Courtney said, smiling with her blonde curls bouncing as she moved. “Okay! Yeah, of course!” You said as Courtney walked up the stairs. You walked over to the couch in the living room, sitting down, taking your backpack off, and putting it beside you.
Soon you heard a knock on the door, you practically jumped up, walking to the door, and opened it to Beth and Yolanda. Beth in a purple dress with iridescent fairy wings, and Yolanda in a goldish dress, and a blue cardigan with a crown on her head.
“Hii! You guys look amazing, gorgeous!” You said, smiling.
“Thank you! You look amazing, gorgeous too!” Beth said beaming, and bear hugged you.
“Yeah! You do! And Thank you y/n! Courtney and I picked out each other’s costumes!” Yolanda said, smiling, Beth pulled Yolanda into the hug.
“Ahhh I’m soo happy we’re doing this! I’ve been wanting to do this forever!” Beth said as you all pulled away from the hug, wrapping her arm with yours
“Me too!” You said.
“Umm, where’s Court?” Yolanda asked, smiling.
“Upstairs, she had a few more things to get ready!”
“Oh, I think I’ll go help her!” Yolanda said, pointing to the stairs.
“I’ll come with you! Are you coming with us, y/n/n?”
“I’m gonna wait for Cindy!” You said.
“You’re so nice!” Yolanda said, half joking.
“Thanks!” You said, laughing.
“I can stay down here with you!” Beth said,
“No, it’s fine! You can go!” You said, gently squeezing her hand.
Beth slowly pulled her arm back, then her and Yolanda walked upstairs.
You walked over to the stairs sitting on one of the steps.
~
The minutes passed slowly but oddly fast, probably your mind running left and right thinking of Cindy.
Cindy was the girl you slowly fell in love with as she got closer to the group and sure you swore you never fall for a popular weird jock but technically she wasn’t a bad weird, plus the jock you fully meant was a smelly probably homophobic football jock guy and she’s a lovely probably gay gorgeous cheerleader. You had shared so many stolen glances although you felt that she was gazing into the distance just in your direction, plus some small touches, weirdly flirty texts at least you thought they were, you've never been great at telling tones. You had been wanting and trying to ask her out for… a long time, maybe tonight would be the night you finally face your fears and get the words out. You were kicked out of your thoughts by a knock on the door. You jumped from your seat, stumbling over your own feet trying to straighten out your outfit while walking towards the door.
You swung open the door and there stood Cindy Burman in a white dress that was an exact replica of Jennifer’s dress from Jennifer’s Body with fake blood, and white gloves.
“Hey y/n!” Cindy said, smiling, her eyes shimmering in the moonlight. ”Oh gosh she’s so gorgeous!” you thought, your mind and heart racing as fast as a cheetah.
“Hi-i, Cindy!” You said, stuttering from nerves, moving out of the way so she could come in, she walked in, and you closed the door behind her.
“Sabrina Spellman?” She asked as you turned back to her.
“Y-yeah!” You said, smiling. She touched the side of your face, your heart skipping a beat.
“I love that show! And you look gorgeous!” She said smiling, looking at you like you were a painting made of gold.
“You do? That’s awesome! And T-thank you! Y-you look g-gorgeous too!“ You said.
“Jennifer’s body?” You asked, smiling.
“Yeah! A gay horror icon!” She said, smirking, Your heart skipped a beat at that.
“Sh-she really is!” You said, she nodded in agreement.
“Umm are you gay?” You said, staring at her. “Why did I say it like that?” You thought.
“Yeah, I’m a lesbian!” She said, softly smiling.
“C-cool! Cool!” You said. You both stared deeply into each other’s eyes daring one another to say something or do something.
“We’re done! Everything’s done!” Courtney said, breaking the silence, standing at the top of the stairs with Beth and Yolanda.
“Oh, hey Cindy!” Courtney said, smiling.
“Um. Hey!” Cindy responded, pulling her eyes from you to look at the rest of the group.
“You guys coming?” Beth asked.
“Yeah! After you.” Cindy said, holding an arm in front Insinuating for you to go ahead.
“No, after you!” You said, smiling.
“No! After you!” Cindy said, winking.
“O-okay! If you insist!” You said, awkwardly smiling, walking towards the stairs and up them, while forgetting how the heck a person walks.
“You okay? too much crushing on her?” Courtney whispered to you, as you got to the top of the steps,
You did the cut-it-out motion with your hand, then went back to smiling as Cindy was beside you.
You had told the whole group except Rick that you liked Cindy but Rick probably heard you rambling about it to Courtney, Yolanda, And Beth, Rick disliked any conversations about love except if it was with Beth or about Beth.
~
Courtney sat on the corner of her bed by the pillows, her back facing the wall with Yolanda beside her on the wall side, Cindy sat on the other side of Courtney by the pillows with you beside her, and Beth sat near the middle of the bed.
“How about we tell some spooky stories?” Courtney as you all got comfortable in your spots.
“Yeah, I would love that!” You said, wiggling your arms in excitement.
“Sounds cool!” Yolanda said.
“Sure!” Beth said.
”Yess!” “I have a great one to tell!” Cindy said, smirking, as thunder rumbled outside.
“It was a dark stormy night. A girl named Tara was home alone, her parents were out of town, She had just gone to a new Carnival in town that had a clown with the most terrifying stare which he had been staring at her the whole time she was there, weirdly somehow always near her everywhere she went.
She suddenly heard a knock on the door, she slowly walked to the window near the door, looking out there was no one. She walked to the door and there was no one, so she closed the door and locked it she went back to the living room, sitting down on the couch, and scrolled through her phone, suddenly an amber alert went off on her for an escaped murderer, she clicked the link, a picture showed up on the website with the clown from the carnival she gasped, her heart beating out of her chest. Creek! went a floorboard in the hallway to the kitchen, she snapped her head up seeing that very, terrifying killer clown.” Cindy told the story.
“That was sooo creepy!” Courtney said, shivering.
“I’m gonna have nightmares!” Beth said.
“Agreed and same! Cindy, you truly have some darkness in you!” Yolanda said,
“Thank you!” Cindy said, flipping her hair back behind her shoulder.
“I loved it! It was sooo creepy!” You said,
“You sure you’re not too scared?” Cindy asked, wiggling her fingers at you.
“Yes, I’m sure! I'm a horror fan!” You said smugly.
Suddenly you heard a knock at the door.
“Yeah?” Courtney wearily asked, the door slowly creaked open, you turned to look, your heart beating fast at the eerie sound, there stood a shadowy person standing there.
“AAAAAHHHHHH!” You, Beth, and Courtney screeched. You scooted super close to Cindy, your arms and legs touching making your body fire up and heartbeat go even faster. You leaned on her scared, she then wrapped her arm around you without you realizing.
“Whoa, My ears! What happened? Why are you guys screaming?” You heard Pat say, flipping the switch on the wall on. You all took a breath of relief seeing Pat standing there and not some killer clown or Eclipso.
“We were telling scary stories and then you scared us, Pat!” Courtney said, giggling.
“Yeah, super scared us!” You said, laughing.
“Not me though!” Cindy said, putting her head on your shoulder, your breath hitched in your throat, your body becoming hyper-aware of her touch, you then realized her arm was around you, and your heart started beating so fast you heard it banging in your ears.
“Okay well, I was just making sure you guys were doing okay.” Pat said,
“Yeah, we’re fine!” Courtney said, smiling.
“Alright.” He said, leaving the room and closing the door.
“Are you okay? You scared? Your heart is beating super fast.” Cindy asked,
“The story isn’t why it’s beating fast.” You said, looking in the complete opposite direction of her.
The rest of the group's ears perked up at that.
“Wanna go get some snacks?” Yolanda asked, wiggling her eyebrows
“But we already- oh yeah let’s go!” Beth started to point out that they already had some, then realized what she actually meant.
“Yeah! I’ll come too! Courtney said, scrambling off the bed as Beth and Yolanda got off the bed walking to the door.
”Good luck!” Courtney mouthed to you, as they all walked out of the room.
“What do you mean?” Cindy asked, moving to sit in front of you facing you.
You slowly took a deep breath.
“Umm I.. uhh I… it’s because I like you, really like you.” You said, looking down at your hands.
“Wait, you actually like me?” Cindy said, softly smiling,
“Yeah! Wait, you thought I didn’t like you?” You asked, looking back up at her.
“Well yeah, not many people actually like me, you know being a mean girl and villain? Antihero, I don’t know! And you being a sweet, loving, gorgeous… angel! I really like you too!” Cindy said, gently grabbing your hands.
“You’re amazing! And really?” You asked, squeezing her hands.
“Really!” She said, smiling, letting your hands go, putting her hands on your cheeks.
“You only kill boys right?” You said, laughing.
“Yeah, and I fall in love with girls!” She said, smiling and laughing. She leaned closer to you, and your lips met hers they were soft as mashmellow, the feeling of anxiousness and fear washed away, and a calm and loving peacefulness replaced it. You both pulled apart from the kiss, staring into each other’s eyes in love despite you always hating eye contact with it being so overwhelming, sharing eye contact with her felt peaceful and calm.
Beth, Yolanda, and Courtney walked through the door holding a bowl of popcorn.
“Finally!” They all said at the same time cheering.
“Oh hush!” You said, laughing. Cindy moved to sit beside you again, wrapping her around your plush waist.
“Well congrats!” Courtney said, smiling sitting where she was before.
“Yeah!” Beth and Yolanda said at the same time, As they sat down on the bed.
“Wanna watch Halloween?” Cindy asked, smirking.
“Yes! It wouldn’t be Halloween without Michael Myers.” You said, smiling.
“Yesss! Literally!” Yolanda said, smiling.
“But I need to change first, I need to be super comfy!” Beth said, pushing up her glasses up her nose.
“Me too!” You, Courtney, Yolanda, and Cindy weirdly said at the same time, laughing.
“And I need to get the air mattresses ready!” Courtney said.
~
You and the rest of the group had changed into comfy clothes, Courtney got air mattresses ready with a twin mattress and queen air mattress, Courtney and Yolanda laid down in Courtney’s bed, and Beth laid on the twin bed with flower sheets on them.
You and Cindy laid down on the queen air mattress with purple sheets, Cindy wrapped her arm around your plush waist, and you rested your head on Cindy's chest messing with her hair, with Halloween intro playing, and thunder rumbled outside.
“Happy Halloween Cindy!” You said, looking at her as rain gently hit the window.
“Happy Halloween love!” She said, kissing the top of your head.

Courtney bonding and/or becoming friends with S4 Tory, while Cindy becomes friends/bonds with S4 Sam, because of missed context would actually be fun to explore. Cindy would be a… questionable influence on S4 Sam. While S4 Tory would probably benefit from having a friend like Courtney. Also, I could see Rick eventually bonding somewhat with Johnny (Rick knows what it’s like for people to think of you a certain way and trying to prove them wrong). I think Cameron would be fun to throw in with the Miguel and Robby stuff. Because Cameron could potentially relate both of them in different ways. While Mike and Jakeem would have a great time meeting Eli and Demetri. Then, Yolanda meeting and training with Daniel would be cool. I think she would excel in Miyagi-Do.
I doubt Rick would bond with Johnny after hearing how terrible a sensei he’s been 😂 I doubt the JSA would have many positive things to say about any of the CK adults…especially given how active their adults are in their lives
For sure! I think Yolanda would bond quickest with s4 Tory, and Courtney would come around too. Though, once they figure out the context…yikes, they’re not gonna like Tory very much.
Oh Cindy would absolutely be a terrible influence on Sam. And even after knowing the context, she wouldn’t even care, she’d probably respect Sam even more for not taking Tory’s violence lying down.

Cindy Burman would wear masks and absolutely would berate the selfish people who refuse to mask. And she'd bust out the science to debunk their conservative beliefs
Cindy has 100% punched an anti vaxxer in the face for throwing a tantrum in the super market for being asked to wear a mask
She is also ready to throw hands at anyone she sees disrespecting retail workers or food service workers

Stargirl: Next Gen Superheroes
Tumblr media
After the season finale of DC’s newest teen superhero show Stargirl, it was one hell of an emotional ride with intense fighting, strong character moments, and the world building of this new Earth-2.
The show follows Courtney Whitmore, the typical teenager who comes across the Cosmic Staff, formally Starman’s main weapon. She then takes up the mantle as Stargirl and comes across other teens with their own personal struggles which were explored throughout the first season.
Tumblr media
I liked that each character had multiple episodes dedicated to exploring their history, personal lives, and development: Yolanda trying to move past a humiliating experience despite the school and her own family (seriously, they’re just being cruel) keep putting her down, Beth’s isolation from her parents and finding a friend in high-tech goggles, and Rick’s anger building over time from his parents’ deaths at the hands of Solomon Grundy and the Injustice Society.
Tumblr media
My favorite episode was Brainwave Jr. for the amount of character development with Henry King Jr., going from a stereotypical jock-bully to a noble hero. Although influenced by his father’s dark view on humanity, Henry saw that people can be good and to never forget that, which he said before sacrificing himself to save the new JSA from his father.
Tumblr media
While the Injustice Society had standout villains, the one that stood out was Cindy Burman, or Shiv, as both the embodiment of unhinged teenage cruelty and a dangerous monster created by her father Dragon King. What makes her interesting is how easily cruel she can be, questioning if she was made like this or is who she truly is on the inside.
Tumblr media
I do hope Season 2 gets to expand on the characters’ parallels to their original hero counterparts and their personal histories that further plays a role in becoming their own heroes. I also want to see the Shade as a complicated anti-villain/neutral hero type character who’s interested in self-preservation than picking sides. That would bring an interesting dynamic with the new heroes and Pat Dugan who witnessed Shade’s hand in the JSA’s destruction.
Have a Happy New Year!!!

Why I like her: She’s a badass okay!!! And she deserves better.
Why I don’t: Slut-shaming :/
Favorite episode: Shiv Part 2
Favorite season: 1
Favorite line: “I’m gunna kill that star spangled bitch”
Favorite outfit: I’m a sucker for the cheer uniform
OTP: Starshiv
Brotp: Shivcicle (cameron)
Head canon: Cindy had a close relationship with her mom before she died.
Unpopular opinion: I really hope she doesn’t get a redemption arc. Hear me out, Cindy is probably my favorite Stargirl villain and I feel like all of that would go away if she became an anti hero/hero.
A wish: Backstoryyy
An oh-god-please-don’t-ever-happen: A relationship with Cameron Mahkent💀
5 Words to best describe her: Badass, Dangerous, Lonely, Confident, Powerful
My nickname for her: This isn’t exactly my nickname but my dad called her Wolverine

Stargirl Season Finale Ending Explained and Unanswered Questions
https://ift.tt/2ZMmxp2
This article contains Stargirl spoilers.
Stargirl has been one of the few good things about 2020. Smart, impressively crafted, and full of heart, the newest addition to The CW superhero roster has been bringing us some much needed joy. Sadly, the season has ended, but it finished on a high note with an action-packed and emotional episode that tied up some loose ends, had a few shocking surprises, and opened up a lot of potential for the already announced second season that will air exclusively on The CW. Check out our review for a full rundown of the awesome episode, but we’re here to breakdown that wild ending, all those stingers, and answer some of the most burning questions that “Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E. Part Two” left us with.
The Justice Society of America Rises Again
It’s hard to end a debut season that’s been as stunning as Stargirl but somehow the creative team did it. There were a whole bunch of amazing moments in this episode but let’s focus on that third act that really began when the kids got into the tunnels underneath Blue Valley High. This finale really did a great job of giving everyone their own full arc which satisfied as well as left them with something to achieve or look forward to next season.
Let’s start with the outlier, Cindy Burman. The daughter of Dragon King got her revenge as she killed her father, unintentionally helping Shining Knight before heading off to battle Courtney.
Cindy’s attack led to Yolanda having a reckoning of her own as she had to head further into the tunnels and saw an unexpected face. Henry King Jr.’s arc was one of my favorite things about this season so I was blown away when one of the Dragon King’s minions was revealed to be the teen who we thought died earlier this season. After the heartbreaking moment where it was revealed that it was actually Brainwave attempting to use Yolanda’s love for Henry as a way to get her to betray her friends, the young girl made a choice driven by fear, anger, and hate, slitting his throat and watching him bleed out in the same place he killed his son. It’s a stark moment and one that reflects a change in Yolanda, and contrasts an equally important moment for Rick.

Stargirl: Who are the Justice Society Members?
By Mike Cecchini
Before we get to that, though, Courtney and Yolanda reunite and the former blows up the satellite that was projecting Brainwave’s signal. With the world seemingly saved, there are two immediate problems: Solomon Grundy and Barbara who’s been kidnapped by Icicle. Rick wants to take care of the first issue, and after saving Pat from the monster and sending him to save Barb, Rick begins the vengeful beatdown he’s been dreaming of for so long.
But when it comes to striking the final blow on the creature that killed his parents, he can’t actually do it. Earlier in the episode we saw Yolanda begging him not to kill only to commit a murder herself, and yet here Rick decides to show mercy to Grundy, shocking himself and finding a different kind of closure.
With Barb at the mercy of Jordan, Pat and Courtney turn up just in time. And after a dramatic rooftop showdown, Jordan is defeated by an unexpected assist from Mike saving the day. With the Dragon defeated, Shining Knight heads off to find the Seven Soldiers of Victory and the rest of the new JSA settles back into their daily lives before we hit a couple of killer stingers which we’ll get into later as the real ending of the show is all about Courtney realizing that Pat is the father she wanted all along.
The pair share a heartwarming scene where Court gives her sidekick and stepdad the gift that she held onto for so long for her biological father, and in a lovely moment it’s revealed to be a “World’s Greatest Dad” mug. Brec Bassinger and Luke Wilson have been at the heart of the series all along and this is a lovely, quiet moment that acknowledges that as well as cementing their relationship before they head out on a magical snow-capped flight. So with all of that said, let’s get into where this leaves the roster of heroes and rogues and what it all means.
Is Icicle Really Dead?
This is the obvious question that we’re left with after Mike ran over the leader of the ISA while he was in the process of transforming, leading to him being shattered in the street. It seems like a pretty un-comeback-from-able death, but the fact that Jordan can manipulate water means there’s a chance that he’s just dribbled into the drains of Blue Valley, ready to either plan his revenge or head to the labs of the late Dragon King in an attempt to put himself back together.
We know that the Injustice Society is filled with villains who should be dead and Jordan did promise that he would succeed in his nefarious plan to “fix” America, so maybe he’ll be back for Stargirl season 2…
Could Mike Really Join the JSA?
After successfully demolishing Jordan just as he was about to freeze his sister, Mike asks whether his heroic moment means that he can join the JSA. It’s a funny moment that also hints at some possibilities for the future of Pat Dugan’s son. While in the comics he never had an official superhero mantle, that could definitely change here.
But if Geoff Johns and co. continue to be inspired by the comic book series that introduced readers to Stargirl and her family–as well as giving the two-part season finale its name–then his role could be deeply connected to another shocking moment of “Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E. Part Two” and the fate of another team member.
What About S.T.R.I.P.E.?
During his epic fight with Solomon Grundy, S.T.R.I.P.E. was decimated. The giant monster ripped off the impressive mech’s legs and beat him with his own arm. It was a brutal display of strength from Grundy and left S.T.R.I.P.E. in a state of disrepair.
Seeing as Pat built the rad machine himself and we see S.T.R.I.P.E. return at the end, we know he’ll be okay. But the big thing to note here is who will help him. Season one has done a great job of seeding Mike as a potential sidekick to Pat and Courtney, especially with his clear prowess for science and invention. In the comics Mike does go on to help his father fix and innovate S.T.R.I.P.E. so after the events of the finale it seems likely we’ll see that thread brought into the sophomore outing of the series.
Where Did the Gambler Go?
Seeing as the Gambler is the only member of the ISA without powers, he did a pretty great job at getting out of Blue Valley and apparently surviving. Thanks to Beth’s brilliant thinking, he no longer has millions of dollars to rebuild his life which means his options are few and his taste for vengeance will be heightened.
If we look to the comics there’s a chance that Steven Sharpe could settle down as when he disappeared off the map before he had a family and then ended up killing himself after losing all his money in Vegas. Of course, that could also hint that maybe due to Beth and Chuck donating all of his money to charity we may never see the Gambler again. Perhaps his financial loss may have been too much? Or he may just be far too scared to continue without his super powered colleagues who have all perished? For now his fate is unclear.
How Will Beth Fix Chuck?
There were plenty of heartbreaking moments this week but high up there was Beth’s grief over Chuck. The A.I. representation of the original Doctor Mid-Nite has become a friend, confidant, and sidekick for the lonely young girl, and Beth’s relationship with the goggles he inhabits has been a highlight of the season. But when Jordan destroys them with his ice powers it seems like the connection and power of Doctor Mid-Nite may be no more.
The truth is that Beth is Doctor Mid-Nite with or without the goggles, but the big question here is how she’ll come to realize that. Perhaps it will be by fixing the unique tool herself or by discovering another artifact or memory bank that Chuck left behind. Either way, we’re sure that Beth will continue her reign as the hero.
Will Yolanda Go Rogue?
Though she likely saved her friends and the town of Blue Valley–and potentially America–with her actions, killing Brainwave was still a moment that will haunt the hero. Despite the fact that the episode ended with Courtney and the new JSA sitting together, Yolanda was set apart, distracted and alone. There’s a good chance that whatever happens next season we may see her split with her young and hopeful cohorts, especially after Rick refused to kill Grundy and Courtney’s horrified response to Yolanda’s killing.
I don’t believe that Yolanda will go full villain but her experiences with Brainwave could encourage a more hard line vigilante stance that might not fit with the cleancut JSA.
Who Was That in the Injustice Society’s lair?
Well, well, well. If you’ve been wondering who’s going to take over from the now defunct Injustice Society, look no further than that strange top-hatted figure who appeared in the ISA lair at the end of the finale. In the fourth episode there was a really quick reference to a rogue known as the Shade who betrayed the ISA and it looks like from this stinger that the Shade is back in Blue Valley.

Stargirl Villains: A Guide to the Injustice Society
By Rosie Knight
So who are they? Well, in the comics the character debuted in a 1942 Flash Comics issue and was portrayed as an enigmatic man with a magical cane that could control shadows. But the version that we’re most likely seeing here is the ageless Victorian immortal who played a key role in Stargirl writer/producer James Robinson’s 1994 run on Starman.
In that series the character is less of a villain and more of a roguish anti-hero who will switch sides whenever it suits him. There’s plenty to take from the Shade’s appearance but the most interesting aspect is the definitely supernatural nature of the character and the demon-filled, era-spanning world that he inhabits. It seems like a drastic shift in tone from the nostalgic Americana of the first season and does seem to hint at a darker and more magic-filled followup.
It’s also important to note that during his time on Justice League of America Robinson wrote in a story about the Shade being possessed by a powerful spirit known as Eclipso, who also (sort of) popped up in the finale with the help of none other than Cindy Burman.
Who or What is Eclipso?
Ahhh, this is the kind of question I live for. Even in an age where we have a JSA team on prime time TV made up of teenage girls and a Harley Quinn series that regularly features Kite Man, Eclipso is a capital D deep cut inclusion. And there are a few exciting ways that they could go with the late stage reveal that Cindy has discovered “the Heart of Darkness” gem where the immortal supervillain is trapped. She found it in the easter-egg-filled basement of The Wizard’s home.
Now in the comics, Eclipso is a supernatural character based on the concept of wrath and more specifically the Angel of Vengeance. That immediately fits Cindy’s current mindset as we know she’s on a mission to destroy everything that Blue Valley has to offer. I mean, she killed her own father but was equally as eager to kill Courtney and stop the Justice Society.

Stargirl: The History of Shining Knight
By Rosie Knight
Eclipso has manifested in many hosts in the DC Universe, but the one that seems most relevant here is Jean Loring, nee Palmer, who’s probably most well known as the murderer in Identity Crisis. Just like Cindy, Jean discovered the gem which housed Eclipso and was later possessed by him and given his powers. We know that Cindy is desperate to become a super villain and will stop at nothing to do it, meaning that she would likely try and harness the evil spirit to achieve her goals.
The other interesting thing to note here is this could also be a backdoor way of Stargirl introducing another lesser-known DC hero to the  young cast. In certain parts of Eclipso canon it was the Princess of House Amethyst who imprisoned him in the gem. Now DC has been doing a push on bringing the teenage fantasy heroine to the screen, so if Eclipso gets loose in Blue Valley maybe Amethyst will have to leave Gemworld and head to our world to help out?
We wrote in much more detail about the history of Eclipso and what he could mean for Stargirl Season 2 right here.
Starman’s Alive???
This was easily the episode’s biggest reveal and leads to some of the most complex theorizing as well as some deep cut but necessary explanations. So in the world of Stargirl, Sylvester Pemberton is alive and well, which comes as a huge shock because we thought that we saw him die a decade ago at the hands of the Injustice Society. There’s always the chance that this is some kind of Clayface/shape-shifter scenario, but if not it leads to some really interesting questions and will bring to light something that a lot of comic book fans have been wondering.
See, in the comics Sylvester Pemberton was the Star-Spangled Kid but he was never actually Starman. The mantle he took on after retiring as the young hero was Skyman. The real comic book Starman was Ted Knight who was followed by his brother David and later by Ted’s son Jack. There have been other heroes who have used the name Starman but none have been Sylvester Pemberton.
It’ll be interesting to see just how the show combines these two disparate narratives now that Pemberton is potentially back in the picture. In the comics he does team up with Stargirl at one point, which could be echoed here. But it feels like this might be more of an arc for Pat who has spent his life dealing with the ramifications of a death that might not have actually happened at all. So what is Starman hiding? Where has he been? And most importantly of all for Courtney, is he going to want his Cosmic Staff back?
We’ll have to wait to find out the answers to all of these questions and the fates of our lovely teenage heroes, but whatever comes next we cannot wait for the return of our favorite new superhero show!
You can watch all of Stargirl season one on DC Universe or The CW app right now!

The “forgive someone who has abused you (revenge porn) or you’re just as bad thing” is so tired. What person would want to spend any amount of time with someone who’d maliciously shared naked pictures of them, bullied them for a year about it, and told them to get over it? And Henry King can obviously choke too, he shouldn’t have broken his promise and showed those pics of Yolanda to his stupid friends.

I do think Yolanda lashing out when she feels her trust has been betrayed makes some sense in context, the last time someone she trusted screwed her over it led to a lot of pain. Still, I think she might feel a little less triggered (I’m not using that word in a joking manner) by certain things if she’d gotten real support and not just shame in the aftermath of her trauma. Not that I think it’d make it a fair thing to ever ask her to spend time with Henry or Cindy after what they did. I think some counseling would help her understand the difference between love with boundaries vs the conditional love she’s experienced and be in a better position to have good relationships with people.

For the Ask Game: StarShiv & Toriguel
StarShiv
What made you ship it?
Cindy’s speech about them being narrative foils, and the scenes of them genuinely getting along before Cindy knew Courtney was Stargirl!! The potential!!
Favorite things about the ship?
They are narrative foils!! And they’ve helped each other!! And they’ve been friends briefly before!!
Unpopular opinions?
This ship cannot sail in any healthy capacity without Cindy making amends to the entire JSA for everything she’s done. And yes, that includes to Mike, Pat, Barbara, and even Artemis and Isaac.
Toriguel
Why don’t you ship it?
Miguel was very obviously still hung up on Sam, and Tory knew it. They were both setting themselves up for failure there. Also, Tory never blamed Miguel for the cheating even though he was closer to sober than Sam 🙃
What would’ve made you like it?
I mean, I don’t ship Tory with guys, so...probably nothing? But I probably would’ve softened toward it if a) they weren’t doomed to crash and burn from the start and b) Tory had blamed him for the cheating, at least as much as Sam if not more
Despite not shipping it, so you have anything positive to say about it?
Tory confiding in Miguel was sweet...that’s all I got 😂
ship ask game!

I really wish we’d get a Freaky Friday episode of Stargirl between Courtney and Cindy. It would be so amazing to see. Especially after watching this week’s episode!
that’s so cute I’d love to see that!! plus it’s fun to see the actors try to become each other, getting to see courtney act mean and cindy act all sweet. it’s adorable bxbxbhxhxj
also why did that make me imagine their first date happening while they’re in each other’s bodies?

it's literally canon that cindy is queercoded, specifically in her interactions w courtney (meg delacy confirmed it in one of her ig lives i believe), but courtney herself as a character has not been queercoded despite what seems like numerous occasions of her having super not-straight interactions w friends (like yolanda) and foes (like cindy). sure, she's had these not-straight moments, but i feel like this is again geoff enforcing a "gay people are evil and straight people are good" narrative.
starcat's interactions (especially the bedroom scene) seem gay to me and many other viewers, but could still also be construed as "gal being pals." again, geoff johns is a straight man who seems like he has very little knowledge of women so i feel like when he looks at their scenes he's thinking something along the lines of, "they seem to be very good friends :)"
cindy and her dynamic w courtney IS super queercoded and even more obviously so, but you'll notice if you pay a LOT of attention to all of their scenes (as i, unfortunately, do) that cindy is the one who usually initiates these visibly-not-heterosexual moments where it seems incredibly obvious that there’s an underlying tension between them that transcends just being simple rivals who hate each other (after all, they’re two sides of the same coin, and both of them have admitted that if their situations were different, they could’ve ended up in each other’s places) and courtney is the receiving party of these, so geoff can cling to his "courtney is a poor straight girl being terrorized by this predatory obsessive lesbian!! don’t worry she doesn't reciprocate though :)"
cameron's intrusion into starshiv’s dynamic to ask courtney out only furthers geoff’s agenda, as it gives courtney a straight relationship to affirm her heterosexuality AND comes in between cindy and courtney hanging out and courtney possibly becoming Corrupted. in other words, cameron is not really a character in his own right--he barely has a personality other than painting and being a villain’s son, after all--but an agent through which this narrative of Good All-American Heterosexual Purity versus Evil Predatory Homosexual Deviance can be accomplished.

I love how someone in the live Brec did tried to force hourstar and she said NAHHH hournite instead bitches!!! But ya literal queen shit telling ppl to ship actual cannon ship! But hat was funny was that when she heard hourstar she was like what the hell is that!?😂
yessss i saw that live it was hilarious. her words were literally, “hourstar? i haven’t heard that one... i thought that people liked hourman and doctor mid-nite. ... i know a lot of people ship courtney and yolanda. some people ship courtney and shiv, which is hilarious to me because they would kill each other, literally!” and the fact that she skimmed right over camney (she touched on it a little to say that it’d be complicated after the finale) and hourstar and went straight to hournite, starcat, and starshiv... brec is really out here giving us rights huh. also here’s the clip if y’all would like to watch it yourselves.
