"Bambino?" Copia gently opens the door. His eyes scanning the room for the kit.

It takes a minute, but finally he's able to locate the exact location the sniffles are coming from.

Copia cooes softly as he lowers himself to his hands and knees, peaking under the bed. "Ah bebè, what has happened?" Worry clouds his features as Phantom pushes himself closer to the wall, curling in on himself. The crying gets an octave higher and Copia feels his heart breaking.

"Piccolo topo, won't you tell your papa what's wrong?"

It takes a few more minutes but eventually the kit crawls out from under the bed. His tiny arms raised towards Copia in a silent command.

Copia wastes no time in scooping him into his arms and sitting on the bed. Phantom burrows his face into the man's cassock, his tiny paws kneading the excess fabric in his grasp. He smiles sadly and lays his cheek atop Phantom's head. It's a comforting gesture he's seen his ghouls partake in. It always seems to work.

There's a few more sniffles and then Phantom is pulling back, rubbing at an eye with a chubby paw. He hiccups loudly and then opens his mouth, pointing to the roof.

Copia does a quick inspection, and then his brows raise. "Oh! You've lost a tooth." It's the first baby tooth (did ghouls have baby teeth? He wasn't sure) that the kit has lost. An upper canine, no less.

"Hurt." The word is a garbled mesh of infernal and the human language. For anyone not accustomed it to it, they'd no doubt be unable to tell what he said.

"Ai." He nods. "They do hurt a bit, eh? But I think i know what will fix it."

Phantom's large ears twitch as he stares up with wide eyes. He giggles as Copia's mustache tickles his face as small kisses are peppered across it.

Copia laughs himself as Phantom attempts to push his face away, his little paw pads soft against the Cardinal's cheeks. "Don't worry. It will grow back. Then you'll have your big ghoul teeth, yea?"

Phantom thinks a moment after hearing this. Big ghoul teeth? Maybe losing the baby ones wasn't so bad after all.
