ok so ive had time to mull it over. im still dissapointed but im way more calm. i Still, however, think that the smp exploding is the funniest possible outcome and the one and only downside is the death of non player characters (i.e. yoghurt, michelle, michael, shroud, fran, etc). but, then again, as someone who's an artist, i can always simply Make An AU, so.
