the weirdest part of this website’s history that I never see anyone talking about is that period where people got so obsessed with a guy who played Peter Pan at Disney that he had to quit (or maybe got fired?) because he was getting stalked

Have I been obsessively thinking about Mal episode 36? You bet your sweet bippy. do I need to spoiler?
I'm gonna have to say I'm Team John on this one. In the time that John has been lodged inside Arthur, Arthur has continuously put his trust into people and things with almost zero reasoning. Sometimes that was to their benefit, like Lorick; but generally it has been to their danger and detriment, like Kellin. Coupled with Arthur's obstinate insistence that he's totally fine and he's super over thirty years of trauma even though in the timeline of the show it's been what; four or five HOURS since Arthur was like "well, if we can't get out of this chair suicide is always an option!" and no wonder John is wary.
Was Arthur maybe unnecessarily harsh to John? Yeah, 100%, but they have an incredibly dangerous eldritch artifact on them currently that if they don't pass off could mean a second entity taking possession of Arthur. And we don't know if it was a joke or... but Kayne mentioned how impressive it was that Arthur didn't 'pop like a ripe cherry' with a piece of Hastur in him- but the added stress of a demon(or whatever Scratch turns out to be) could very well kill him.
Sure some of John's faculties may be slipping; but I feel relatively certain that after the discussion with Kayne in the mine John is thinking about Kayne Far Far more than he is letting on, and he can't not be thinking about the possibility of Arthur doing something real stupid like choosing to let Scratch take him over in the HOPE that it would kill him and stop Scratch.
Anyway I'm sure someone smarter than me can sum this up better; but honestly I love you Arthur Lester but maybe listen to your codependent disaster husband on this one

♥ a.n: three chapters in. Nyoko may have learned her lesson a little too late.
Tumblr media
She could get away with just about anything.
Except interrupting a meeting at the office. That was one of the few ways that Nyoko could make her father mad at her. Her frustration blinded her. She wanted to barge in anyway, so angry that he'd sent Sanzu after her.
"The rules still apply even when you're throwing a temper tantrum, Princess." Rindou managed to snatch her away from the closed door before the girl could throw it open. Bonten's business wasn't to be interrupted.
"Let me go!" There wasn't much she could do when the younger Haitani lifted her off the ground with one arm around her waist. Her dainty size made it quite easy to be overpowered.
Violet eyes were muted with mild annoyance. An entitled little brat. The large office building housed all the executives, many of them on this very floor. Rindou kicked the door shut to his office, tiring of wrestling her around.
He wasn't aiming to hurt her.
Nyoko hit the wall with a decent thud, his fingers digging into her jaw almost too tightly. It only fueled her rage. How fucking dare he! No one ever treated her this way. She only raised her leg a fraction.
Having had a gun against her back only hours ago, she could easily recognize the nozzle of his pistol pressing against her stomach.
"Do you fucking understand yet?"
Rindou absolutely hated that defiant glint in her eyes. The sole thing stopping him from disciplining her himself was that she was Kokonoi's kid. It wasn't really his business. Too much of a headache, really.
"You wanna know why your dad sent Sanzu after you? Cause you can't do shit. A little princess up in your tower spending daddy's money and pretending that you have any fucking part in Bonten."
He hit every nerve.
"Fuck you-" Nyoko barely got the words out as Rindou tightened his grip on her jaw, telling her to shut up without saying so. She wasn't naive enough to believe that she was a member of Bonten and had any claim to a spot in the organization.
Yet.
Rindou jammed his gun further into her stomach, tilting his head to the side. "You're just plain stupid for being a brat with a gun held on you."
"You aren't going to shoot me."
It was that confidence that pissed him off more. Her ego too damn big. She'd end up dead because of it. Nyoko had no strength to back it, only her dad's name. Any sane person would spend hours attempting to talk her down.
He wasn't one of those people.
The bang from the barrel startled the girl as he'd intended. Her body rigid and the adamant, obstinate gleam in her eyes dissipated into shock.
Rindou would need to replace his couch in the office, but the fear he'd wanted to give her had been successful. "Trembling like a terrified kitten. No more hissing to pretend you're tough." She had been correct, he wouldn't shoot her, but someone who has a grudge against her, wouldn't hesitate to shut her up.
"Why the fuck are you holding a gun to my daughter?" The door nearly flew off the hinges as Kokonoi threw it open. The gunshot had drawn the attention of everyone. He hadn't expected to find Nyoko pinned to the wall with Rindou's gun pulled.
"Just having a conversation. I think I made my point." The younger Haitani released the teenager, amused by the way she scampered over to her father for protection. "You baby her too much. It's gonna get her killed."
Kokonoi frowned, ushering her from the room. "Don't ever point a weapon at her again." He hated the dispassionate expression on Rindou's features. No one spoke as Kokonoi and Nyoko disappeared across the large hall to his private office. "Are you hurt?" If she had a single bruise on her, he'd break Rindou's jaw in return.
Nyoko tried to calm her racing heart. The gun firing inches from her body truly alighted panic within her nerves. She hated that Rindou was right. Nothing he'd said was a stretch of the truth. She was weak... Crimson irises lifted from the floor, accepting that she'd been in the wrong. "I'm sorry."
"You don't have to apologize for him."
"No... not about that." He didn't know that she'd tried to interrupt a meeting, mad that he'd sent Sanzu to protect her. That she'd been a complete brat. "I shouldn't have tried to provoke Himekawa. It's my fault that he hired that hit man. I followed him into that alley-" She'd wanted a confrontation but wasn't prepared for what it would entail.
She'd tried to be something that she wasn't.
"I expected as much," he replied. That was why he had her follow. He knew his daughter was reckless. Partly his own fault. It irritated him that his colleague was correct. He did baby his daughters, more so Hisui than Nyoko, but his failure in his oldest daughter was that he hadn't properly shown her how weak she was.
She was so headstrong.
And if he did nothing but accept her apology, she'd do it again. The results could be much worse next time.
"I'll call a car to take you home." It wasn't easy. He wanted to hug her, tell her that he'd protect her, and it was alright. But it wasn't. He needed to determine the best way to teach her a lesson. "We'll talk about this when I get home."
Kokonoi needed time to think. He would never raise a hand to his daughters, and he was positive that Rindou had put a good dose of fear into her with his stunt. Perhaps he needed a different approach, one that he hadn't thought of yet.
So, he sent her home while he finished his work.
Nyoko flopped onto her sister's bed, groaning loudly. "I really messed up, Hisui. Dad's so mad at me. He didn't even lecture me. He just sent me home." Her skin crawled, wanting to take a bath to rinse off the assault.
The younger Kokonoi turned in her gaming chair, dropping her headphones around her neck. "Are you okay? I heard that boy hired a hit man. I was really worried." Blue eyes watched her sister mope. Nyoko was often causing a bit of a fuss.
"I'm fine. Himekawa wasn't going to kill me. He wants me to be his girlfriend." She was confident that the hit man was for show. That worm didn't have the balls to have her shot.
"Himekawa wasn't the one holding the gun."
Nyoko sat up at her statement, as if it were the missing piece of the puzzle of the day's events. Oh... shit. She had a point. "I... That's why..." Why everyone was upset with her. It hadn't even occurred to her. "I'm such an idiot."
Hisui nodded her head, spinning back around to face her game. "Yeah, you should apologize to dad." The sound of the fight filled her ears, finished with the conversation. She liked the safety of the apartment, and never did anything that would put her in danger.
The older girl went to bathe while she waited for the inevitable punishment and lecture that awaited her. She deserved it, but Nyoko's mind floated a new idea. She disliked having to use physical violence, but perhaps she could learn a few self-defense techniques.
Perched on the edge of a marble sink, her phone screen lit up with a notification. Download completed. And as quickly as it popped up, it disappeared, as if an invisible hand had swiped it away. Access to the personal device left her vulnerable.
She wasn't prepared for the storm that had begun to brew.

on your law of the excluded middle thing from a few days ago: i think my issue is that the negation of "trans" isn't necessarily "cis" but "not trans" and the negation of "cis" likewise is "not cis". in many scenarios it's convenient + makes sense to treat them as pure opposites of which everyone must be one and only one, but i think if someone chooses to identify as neither cis nor trans that isn't actually logic-breaking. "a person can choose what box they're in" is important, but as is "a person can choose to not be in a box."
I remain hugely puzzled by this objection.
I think the incoherence I'm baffled by is in someone "choosing to identify as [cis/trans]" because that's super duper fundamentally NOT how identity and labels work, not in this one highly specific context anyway. And, like, neither is it how human societies work with regard to gender, or even more fundamentally is it how human cognition works with regard to categorisation.
"cis" vs "trans" isn't a nametag you fill in and stick onto yourself. It's not the boxes you tick on a webform or what you fill in on your bio.
"cis" vs "trans" is an outcome; a flowchart which consists of the singular question: "does your gender identity align with the sex you were assigned at birth?"
If yes: congratulations, you are cis!
If no: congratulations, you are trans!
So "I'm not cis and I'm not trans" is an incoherent position to take, because it's not one that you can reach by following the flowchart. You can really only get *near* there by refusing to participate in the flowchart and taking the null position: "I'm not cis or trans".
"I choose to identify as [I refuse to answer that question]" is an incoherent position. You don't "identify as" a refusal, you simply refuse. (Unless you're "identifying as a refusal" for, like, obstinate shitposting/language-game reasons, but that's beside the point)
Feels like I'm trying to explain "you can vote 'yes' or you can vote 'no' (or you can abstain from voting)"
And you're trying to explain that abstaining is a valid vote because you're voting for abstaining.
And I'm trying to be all like, no, abstaining is when you DON'T vote, you don't "vote for" abstaining.
And then this whole stupid conversation merrily trundles off into the bullshitty weeds of us and many others getting incredibly bogged down in quibbling over the semantics of what the word "vote" actually means.
(I maintain that abstaining is a valid *response*, but it's very definitionally NOT a vote for or against (even though, yes, the act of recording responses is "voting"))
Which is all extra-frustrating bullshit to be mired in because the whole entire point of me even speaking up to begin with was pointing out that some idiot over yonder is voting wrong by attempting to vote twice—once for 'yes' and once for 'no'—instead of just abstaining!
So, yeah, it is "logic breaking" for somebody to be not-cis AND not-trans simultaneously (because those two categories literally ARE literally defined as the negation of each other. Literally the bloody meanings of the damn words.)
Then in this one specific example, a person "choosing to not be in a box" is merely a person choosing to publicly abstain from answering the question.
Which is the thing I've said since the beginning.
(& I think I also remarked on the validity of merely saying "I don't know")
Even though one can opt out of disclosing the categorisation of a thing, one can't full-stop opt out of categorisation, because categorisation is an outcome of things having properties. Opting out of categorising a thing doesn't negate the existence of a thing's properties, and it can't prevent other people from doing categorisation based on the thing's properties.
"I'm not cis" - valid! ✅
"I'm not trans!" - valid! ✅
"I don't know if I'm cis or trans" - valid! ✅
"I'm not telling you if I'm cis or trans" - valid! ✅
"I'm not cis AND I'm not trans" - ⚠️⚠️ {{SYNTAX ERROR}} ⚠️⚠️
"it's rude for you to categorise people who do not wish to be categorised" - valid! ✅
"it's rude for you to be confused by other people using words incorrectly" - bogus! ❌
"it's rude for you to say that other people are using words incorrectly" - valid! ✅
"it's incorrect for you to say that other people are using words incorrectly" - bogus! ❌

I used to be one of those people that would get so pouty over period piece movies that would be historically inaccurate and found it grating when women would be obstinate or modernly feminist or sex positive or whatever and now I'm like who gives a fuck. women can't have a little historical fiction fantasies? women have to enjoy media from men who tell us "oh no THIS is historically accurate" regurgitating history from a male perspective anyway? tarantino can write a moive about shooting hitler in the face but woman can't enjoy a movie about a women refusing to wear corsets and enjoying some cunnilingus?? maybe it's fun, maybe women can have some fun and some fantasy especially since men have made things hard for us every single god damn day of our lives since the beginning? yeah blah blah blah she wouldn't say "the future is female" whatever shut up I can enjoy my history how I want I don't have to be miserable about it every day, especially not for moives and tv lol

I've recently become interested in astrology. Not surprising, I suppose , it's all over the internet lately, I'm more surprised it took me this long. I did have to ask Gabrielle what time I was born, as it wasn't something we'd ever discussed. She told me, and I quote "lestat, dear child, do you think after nine pregnancies and seven births I remembered a thing like what time I was finally free of you accursed things?" Which, first of all , fascinating way to look at the miracle of childbirth, Mother, but I can't say I blame her. She did manage to remember it was morning, and I think that's all we're going to get. Anyway, perhaps the time I made up was correct because, I believe the phrase is, this chart was AT-ing me. So here we are, presented with commentary.
(Also do you know how long it took me to find a site that allowed me to enter the year 1758?)
"Sun in Scorpio
The sun determines your ego, identity, and "role" in life. It's the core of who you are, and is the sign you're most likely to already know. Your Sun is in Scorpio, meaning you have a fundamental urge to get to the bottom of things, which can at times lead you to be manipulative or power-hungry, but it comes down to an intense passion for authenticity, real intimacy, and the truth. It's in your twelfth house, meaning you feel the need to distinguish yourself from others through privacy, secrets, and introspection."
Well this comes as no surprise. I knew I was a Scorpio, passionate, sensual, easily angered, and ruled by emotions. I've been told Scorpios are one of the harder zodiac signs to put up with, with intense personalities. Guilty. I do like it mentioned my need to authenticity and tendency for introspection, which people often forget about.
"Ascendant in Sagittarius
Your ascendant is the "mask" you present to people. It can be seen in your personal style and how you come off to people when you first meet. Some say it becomes less relevant as you get older. It changes every two hours, so if it doesn't make sense, text your mom to confirm your birth time. Your Ascendant is in Sagittarius, meaning you come across as independent, optimistic, and confident, though sometimes overly blunt or critical. Generally a charming conversationalist, your free-spirited approach may come off as restless or easily bored."
Well I don't know how much older I'll have to get before it's less relevent, because I think "independent, optimistic, and confident, though sometimes overly blunt" is probably how most people would describe me if they're being kind. As is restless and easily bored.
"Moon in Aquarius
The moon rules your emotions, moods, and feelings. This is likely the sign you most think of yourself as, since it reflects your personality when you're alone or deeply comfortable. Your Moon is in Aquarius, meaning your emotional self is intuitive, observant, detached, and rational. You are often in your own world, but are scared of how you truly feel. It's in your second house, meaning you find security and safety through money and material possessions."
And this is where the relentless @-ing appears. In my own world? Scared of how I truly feel? I'm in this picture and I don't like it. Find safety through money and material things? We WONT bring up what Louis calls my tendency to throw money at problems. The Valentines Day debacle, anyone?
"Mercury in Scorpio
Mercury determines how you communicate, talk, think, and process information. It also indicates how you learn. It is the mind's planet. Your Mercury is in Scorpio, meaning your intellect is intense, serious, and obsessive. You have tendency to see things that others don't through your perceptive and insightful intuition. You don't take things lightly and like to get straight to the point, which can come off as harsh, suspicious, or intrusive. You tend to communicate through your body language. It's in your eleventh house, meaning you are curious about and inclined to analyze your friends, how to make an impact on people, and your political life."
Yes, THANK YOU, I'm actually quite intelligent, I'll remind you, people don't remember that because I do hide it under a lot of LOUD, see aforesaid ascendent in Sagittarius, but I spend a lot of time --too much time--thinking. And I have been called blunt. And as I've been called animated more times than I'd like to count, the expressing things through body language is true.
"Venus in Libra
Venus determines how and what you love. It indicates how you express affection and the qualities you're attracted to. Your Venus is in Libra, meaning your romantic side is idealistic and eager-to-please. You want an equitable relationship, and you're willing to make compromises to get there. You can be a little self-obsessed, and may have trouble being realistic or loyal in your relationships. It's in your eleventh house, meaning that for you, love is often expressed in social status, including platonic and casual friends, along with your hopes, wishes, and dreams."
....... Presented without further comment.
"Mars in Sagittarius
Mars is the planet of aggression. It determines how you assert yourself, take action, and the energy that surrounds you—particularly in your sex life, your ambitiousness, and when you're angry. Your Mars is in Sagittarius, meaning you assert yourself in a way that pushes boundaries, you easily become impatient and restless, and you push things forward with more vision than thoughtfulness. It's in your first house, meaning you put a lot of energy into your self and self-image—and, because it's your first house, your Mars in Sagittarius is hyper-present in your personality."
More vision than thoughtfulness can shut up. It's not wrong but it can shut up
"Jupiter in Sagittarius
One of the two social planets, Jupiter rules idealism, optimism, and expansion. It's also very philosophical. Your Jupiter is in Sagittarius, meaning you grow and find understanding through questioning, curiosity, independence, and debate. It's in your first house, meaning you find success through your self and self-image—and, because it's your first house, your Jupiter in Sagittarius is hyper-present in your personality."
A little too much questioning and curiouity, hmm, Marius?
"Saturn in Aquarius
The other social planet, Saturn rules responsibility, restrictions, limits, boundaries, fears, and self-discipline. Your Saturn is in Aquarius, meaning you struggle with obstinacy, a superiority complex, and being overly detached. It's in your third house, meaning you have had difficulties with the things you know and are familiar with."
Me??? A superiority complex????? Obstinate? You know, I'm almost flattered. Just call me the Brat Prince, chart, it'd be faster.
"Uranus in Pisces
Uranus stays in each sign for seven years, meaning it rules a generation more than a person. It rules innovation, rebellion, and progress. Your Uranus is in Pisces, meaning other generations are shocked by your generation's sense of empathy, dreaminess, and gentle nature. It's in your third house, meaning that for you, this manifests in rebelling against dated expectations about the things you know and are familiar with."
I wouldn't call my generation empathetic or gentle, but we were thoughtful. Though compared to some, perhaps we were.
I do not choose to coment on rebelling against dated expectations , as once again, they don't call me the Brat Prince for nothing.
"Neptune in Leo
Neptune stays in each sign for around fourteen years, meaning it rules a generation more than a person. It rules dreams, imagination, and the unconscious. Your Neptune is in Leo, meaning your entire generation finds inspiration through magnanimity, leadership, thinking big, and confidence. It's in your eighth house, meaning that for you, this manifests in your ideal—verging on unrealistic and impractical—about darkness, taboos, rebirth, sex, and transformation."
This is a bit more how is describe those of us who were Young in the years just before the French Revolution. We were throwing ourselves into a new world, a world we were determined to make, and unafraid of the darkness we were about to fall into.
"Pluto in Sagittarius
Pluto stays in each sign for up to thirty years, meaning it rules a generation more than a person. It rules power, intensity, obsession, and control. Your Pluto is in Sagittarius, meaning your generation's psyche is comparatively positive, free-spirited, curious, optimistic, forward-looking, independent, and confident. It's in your first house, meaning you personally are transforming your self and self-image—and, because it's your first house, your Pluto in Sagittarius is hyper-present in your personality."
As is this. The Age of Enlightenment. I do wish some of us were still around
Now tell me, friends and fans and fellow Scorpios, do you agree with the stars?

❂ //:0 :0 i can't tell WHO has blood on their face tho i have such a hard time reading these memes???
Kafei’s reaction to Jamie:❂ = wiping blood off their face
At first Kafei assumed he’d succeeded in getting Jamie to leave him alone.  But no; Jamie soon comes back with what looks like a first aid kit, or an improvisation of one.  There wouldn’t have been enough time to escape anyways, but dammit, if he’d known Jamie was returning he could have at least made more progress!  He’s moved, certainly, but.  There could still be a problem here.
He doesn’t want other peoples’ hands anywhere near his injury.  His first impulse is to tell Jamie to go away.  But often enough, people (Kafei’s mother) decide that if they’ve read the situation well enough, they can know his best interests better.  If Kafei is bleeding, the only possible correct response must be treating his injury, so whoever has the agenda that supports getting that done the most quickly must be in the right!  Complicated personal space needs aren’t a thing, and shouldn’t factor into how this situation is handled!
Jamie’s presented as yet no evidence to suggest he falls into this pushy, uncommunicative category of person.  But if Jamie does try to talk over a simple ‘no,’ that means enduring a role of a child or pet in the other’s perspective, for the time it takes to somehow force the other’s respect.  And I’m fine, I’ll be fine has already somehow translated to please help me immediately.  That’s a normal enough reaction, to be sure; but being obstinate about understanding other perspectives is normal enough, too.
“Fuck off,” Kafei tries, and instantly sees it was the wrong thing to say.  “Sorry.  No.  I mean, thank you.  Sorry.  Rough day.  …Give that to me.”  He holds out his hand, like a dare to refuse the request.

When I said was if Mom was raised from the dead she's a witness that may have paid money for labor to me and she's the one who would know what it was for and she wouldn't crack so they harmed her the max did in the back tires because they're imbeciles he wanted to force me to DC somehow hoping the criminal justice system and is still trying and it's proof and what mom has to say is proof and she's witness to what they're doing and the tapes will show it and she's a witness against the max which might need it needs a support of women even Mac women and she's witness to what they did in Utah but what Thor pointed out is very important right now and that's that if they go after social security I said my people will have to get me money and so they figured he'll think his people will get him money and support him and we're going to fight over it and knock social security out of his possession and not getting money and not allow him to have money and they would then force me to DC with the max are in control.
Zues Hera
What he did was force me into a comment box when I didn't like it so I spewed the truth out that they plan to do that and it was a great time thing he didn't do it on purpose I was saying that I was going to put something meaningless up can making it semen saying now. He's listening and he knows that I say important things but only half the time sometimes so we're going to keep doing it anyways since that's the way I am. There's all sorts of things going on it's a lot of fun he says I'm going to come over and share your life and drive off with a tractor you look small and I look a little large for the tractor it's fun I'm going to put it in the movie we need to borrow some so I can download it. And they want to cut social security off all the time they're trying to all the time so going after them I'm going to double up on them this is just take over the treasury and take over social security and then you're going to detect all of the stuff that they're going to try and do what are you doing that trying to take over and they keep pulling people in this is going to be a way of doing it like stars just keep on pushing them back and keep on pushing back. I mean they're ridiculous so we can probably get away with it and lots of cities that's where we need to get away with it so we're going to go ahead and do that and I have ideas too but here's a great it's a boon you're going to look on the positive side and accentuate it and it's not necessarily all about offense but boy is that some easy sweet cake right there that's some baby cakes Frank Castle Hardcastle today it's just like little cupcakes Duke Nukem Blockbuster says. And I mean really it's like a whole bunch of Twinkies they're so ding dong ding dumb Hera states. But really it's like they look like Twinkies but when you get to it it's more like some nice wheat pasta and salmon and a little bit yogurt once you actually eat it when you're going to you it looks nice a little sweet when you do it it's good for you the problem is getting there to it and to do it and I agree with him and we're going to go ahead and we're going to start the offensive and we can go in there and start taking over the government and plow through them blame them all over the world too and let him come at us see how they like it trying to take over from a very obstinate group I'm sorry your license has expired you got something of it tons of you in court the next day I would enforcing all sorts of things now when you can't stand it I'm going to drill it into you cuz you kept them into him over and over and over and he hardly ever breaks the law in any way at all so again grind it into you now
