This past week I reached 100 followers!! I’m incredibly excited, so to celebrate I’ve decided to run a challenge!
Since everyone had a blast with the Party Rock Anthem edit series during the tlkafterparty, I've decided to base the challenge prompts on party songs. All the prompts are inspired by songs from the 2010s (with a few 2000s bangers sprinkled in).
There are 60 prompts in total, each one is a song title. I’ve broke the prompts out into four separate categories based on vibes 😎.
You don’t have to follow me to participate. The more people who join the better!!!
See below for the Rules, Deadline, and Prompts.
Rules:
You can fill out however many prompts you like! There isn’t a limit to how many you can do and there isn’t a limit to how many times a specific prompt can be filled. Feel free to also combine prompts if you want to.
Prompt fills can be edits, icons, moodboards, fics, videos or anything you come up with!
Please tag me and use the tag #aelflaeds100challenge so that I know you’ve made something.
All TLK characters and ships are welcome!
The prompts can be used in anyway.
Some examples on ways to use the prompts:
The song/title/artist reminds you of another song that’s not on the list, so you could use that other song to fill the prompt.
The song/title reminds you of another work, like a poem or a book, so you could use that other work to fill the prompt.
You could base your prompt fill on the title/song/artist only, if you want to create a moodboard the title could be the theme or if you write a fic you could incorporate the song lyrics or artist into it.
If you end up wanting to use another song I only ask that you keep it within the 2010s timeframe. If there is a specific song you would like to use and its not from the 2010s please reach out to me and we can discuss it.
Deadline:
The challenge will officially run from September 10th to December 10th, but if you can’t make it until after that deadline don’t worry!!! Submit whenever you can, the more participation the better :)
If you have any questions feel free to reach out or drop a note in my inbox!

What is one fragrance you would never ever wear
didnt justin teach us to never say never? there’s been so many perfumes i thought i would never ever wear then a few years later i start wearing them. anyways in this moment i wouldn’t wear cloud, glossier you, viva la juicy, by the fireplace, jazz club, tobacco vanille, black orchid, black opium, delina, any zara perfume, anything from those popular “luxury” dupe houses, any kayali perfume. and many more

HSHQTASK030: england playlist
three lions - lightning seeds // here comes the sun - the beatles // don’t stop me now - queen // don’t go breaking my heart - elton john // wonderwall - oasis // say you’ll be there - spice girls // mardy bum - arctic monkeys // the sound - the 1975 // rolling in the deep - adele // night changes - one direction // on my mind - jorja smith // i don’t care - ed sheeran ft. justin bieber // no heart - 21 savage
happy 4th of july my fellow americans. let’s celebrate with this playlist of singers from england.
okay, so the english music scene is HUGE !! it’s not something i really realized until i looked it up and all of these artists were english. idk, like i knew these bands/singers were english but i didn’t piece it together until now. so i either chose iconic songs that most people would know or songs i personally like from the artist. i have little notes but there’s really not much to say. ummm also again major disclaimer: i’m american and nothing i say is accurate ok thanks
001. three lions - lightning seeds
alright this song was just bc it’s the most popular football song (i think)
002. here comes the sun - the beatles
the beatles changed how music was made forever, not just in england but the world imo. they sort of started the movement of music (rock, pop) in the UK
003. don’t stop me now - queen
absolutely love this song. and queen is just... another iconic rock band.
004. don’t go breaking my heart - elton john
elton john is pure genius. he’s just pure talent- one of my favorite things from him is on my beautiful dark twisted fantasy by kanye- the all of the lights interlude!! elton john does the piano for it. its... * chef’s kiss *
005. wonderwall - oasis
anyways here’s wonderwall
006. say you’ll be there - spice girls
is there anything else to say? the spice girls are like the crux of british pop music let’s be honest. we all know natalia is their biggest fan.
007. mardy bum - arctic monkeys
the artic monkeys. that’s it.
008. viva la vida - coldplay
ok idk why but whenever i say i like coldplay i get made fun of. not ashamed though, their music slaps.
008. the sound - the 1975
the 1975 always has me feeling some type of way.
009. rolling in the deep - adele
can’t miss an ICONIC singer like miss adele here
010. night changes - one direction
you guys weren’t escaping a one direction song. not from this OG 1d fan. and come on, you have to admit they had an IMPACT on the world.
011. on my mind - jorja smith
jorja smith is one of my faves and everyone should listen to her ok
012. i don’t care - ed sheeran ft. justin bieber
this is the top song in the UK right now, so i thought i’d include it idk
013. no heart - 21 savage
honorary mention, haha i think i’m funny. but he was actually on a list of musicians from england (it was on wikapedia.. so...) but it counts, right?
most of them are in this list but some other english music faves of mine are the xx, florence and the machine, mark ronson (the songs he has out with lykke li has me in my feelings yall), ellie goulding, dua lipa... the list goes on forever.

one two songs from every year you’ve been alive because it was literally fucking impossible to pick only one (and in the case of 1996, impossible to pick only two)
anyway, i imposed upon myself two rules: only one entry per band/artist, and only things that were on the billboard year-end hot 100 singles charts, because otherwise the entire 90s would be nothing but the spice girls and the early to mid 2000s would be all saddle creek and sub pop stuff. so uh... enjoy?
1988: fast car - tracy chapman || valerie - steve winwood  1989:  what i am - edie brickell and the new bohemians || like a prayer - madonna 1990: free fallin’ - tom petty || just a friend - biz markie 1991: baby baby - amy grant || something to talk about - bonnie raitt 1992: under the bridge - red hot chili peppers || black or white - michael jackson 1993: i’d do anything for love (but i won’t do that) - meat loaf || what’s up? - 4 non blondes  1994:  shoop - salt-n-pepa || all i wanna do - sheryl crow 1995*: waterfalls - tlc || kiss from a rose - seal 1996**: always be my baby - mariah carey || ironic - alanis morissette || it’s all coming back to me now - celine dion 1997: say you’ll be there - spice girls || mo money mo problems - biggie, puff, mase 1998: show me love - robyn || gone til november - wyclef jean 1999:  all star - smash mouth || ex-factor - lauryn hill 2000: the next episode - snoop dogg, dr. dre || kryptonite - 3 doors down*** 2001:  ms. jackson - outkast || ride wit me - nelly 2002: the middle - jimmy eat world || work it - missy elliott  2003: ignition (remix) - r kelly || suga suga - baby bash, frankie j 2004: this love - maroon 5 || all falls down - kanye west  2005: mr brightside - the killers || lovers and friends - usher, ludacris, lil jon  2006: i write sins not tragedies - panic! at the disco || crazy - gnarls barkley 2007: welcome to the black parade - my chemical romance || rehab - amy winehouse 2008: viva la vida - coldplay || paper planes - m.i.a 2009: disturbia - rihanna || empire state of mind - jay-z, alicia keys 2010: your love is my drug - ke$ha || all i do is win - dj khaled 2011: pumped up kicks - foster the people || you and i - lady gaga 2012: call me maybe - carly rae jepsen || starships - nicki minaj 2013: royals - lorde || my songs know what you did in the dark - fall out boy 2014: sweater weather - the neighbourhood || ain’t it fun - paramore 2015: take me to church - hozier || blank space - taylor swift 2016: the hills - the weeknd || love yourself - justin bieber**** 2017: who... can say?
*this is the greatest year of music history **i lied, this is the greatest year of music history; it’s also the year i actually started listening to music on my own instead of just listening to whatever my mom/grandparents were listening to; the two may or may not be related ***the first album i ever bought with my own money; how was i supposed to know they’d end up trump supporters? ****i know he’s garbage but this is such a hilariously catchy diss track

2016 SONG WRAP-UP: 10 BEST
SAME RULES AS THE LAST ONE OF THESE: JUST MY OPINION, MOSTLY BASED ON THE BILLBOARD YEAR-END HOT 100, PURELY BASED ON EMOTION BECAUSE MY MUSIC THEORY ISN’T SO MUCH RUSTY AS AN INDECIPHERABLE LUMP OF CORRODED METAL.
HOWEVER, I AM ALSO GOING TO MAKE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT TO LIMIT THIS TO SONGS THAT ARE ACTUALLY 2016 SONGS. ‘WILDEST DREAMS’, ‘EX’S AND OHS’, AND ‘MY HOUSE’ WOULD HAVE HAD A GOOD CHANCE OF ENDING UP ON THIS LIST (ESPECIALLY ‘EX’S AND OHS’, THAT SONG’S GREAT) IF I HADN’T ARBITRARILY DECIDED THAT SINCE THEY WERE MORE LIKE 2015 SONGS THEY DIDN’T QUALIFY.
(HARD FUCKING LUCK FOR ‘LIKE I’M GONNA LOSE YOU’ THAT I DIDN’T HAVE THIS RULE IN THE 10 WORST; IF THIS BOTHERS YOU, FEEL FREE TO MENTALLY PUSH EVERYTHING BELOW IT UP A NOTCH, AND STICK IN LUKAS GRAHAM’S “7 YEARS” IN THE VACANT #10 SLOT, CAPTIONED “THIS SONG CERTAINLY FEELS LIKE IT LASTS FOR SEVEN YEARS, IN WHICH NOTHING REALLY HAPPENS”.)
ANYWAY: THE LIST.
#10: G-EAZY FT. BEBE REXHA, “ME, MYSELF & I”
GREAT HOOK, ALTHOUGH I CAN’T, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, REMEMBER A SINGLE THING G-EAZY HAD TO SAY.
#9: DAYA, “SIT STILL, LOOK PRETTY”
THIS MADE BASICALLY EVERY MAJOR CRITIC’S WORST LIST, AND I DON’T REALLY SEE WHY. THERE IS SO MUCH WORSE OUT THERE.
#8: MIKE POSNER, “I TOOK A PILL IN IBIZA (SEEB REMIX)
AN ALMOST HEARTBREAKING LOOK AT THE LIFE OF A ONE-HIT WONDER. I DON’T KNOW IF HE’LL EVER TOUCH THE CHARTS AGAIN, BUT IF HE DOES, I HOPE HE KEEPS THIS LEVEL OF MATURITY. (ALSO, THAT HE SPENDS HIS MONEY FROM THIS SONG’S SALES ON SOMETHING OTHER THAN GIRLS AND SHOES.)
#7: TWENTY-ONE PILOTS, “RIDE”
I’M NOT EVEN SURE WHY I LIKE THIS ONE. I JUST DO.
#6: JUSTIN BIEBER, “SORRY”
OPENLY AND ENTHUSIASTICALLY HATEABLE, BUT REALLY FUN TO HATE. IT’LL DO.
#5: P!NK, “JUST LIKE FIRE”
LET’S GET THIS OUT OF THE WAY BRIGHT AND EARLY: NO, IT’S NOT VERY GOOD AS P!NK SONGS GO. ON THE OTHER HAND, P!NK AT HER WORST IS STILL FOUR MILES AHEAD OF, FOR EXAMPLE, SHAWN FUCKING MENDEZ.
#4: FIFTH HARMONY FT. FETTY WAP, “ALL IN MY HEAD (FLEX)”
APPARENTLY EVEN FIFTH HARMONY FELT BAD ABOUT RELEASING “WORK FROM HOME”, AND I CAN’T THINK OF A BETTER APOLOGY THEY COULD HAVE MADE. DUMB, BUT DUMB IN A FUN ENOUGH WAY I CAN OVERLOOK IT.
#3: THE WEEKND, “STARBOY”
DAMN GOOD SONG. I’VE NEVER REALLY GOTTEN INTO THE WEEKND, BUT THIS CHANGED MY MIND IN A BIG WAY. NOT ENOUGH TO SING HYMNS TO THE GUY, BUT YEAH, GOOD STUFF.
#2: COLDPLAY, “HYMN FOR THE WEEKEND”
OOPS, SORRY, MISREAD. I DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO COLDPLAY CIRCA “VIVA LA VIDA” - DID A FLOWERPOT FALL ON EACH OF THEIR HEADS, OR SOMETHING? - BUT YE GODS IS IT AN IMPROVEMENT OVER THE “YELLOW” PERIOD. AWESOME SONG. BEYONCE ISN’T CREDITED, SADLY, BUT SHE PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN.
#1: JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, “CAN’T STOP THE FEELING”
DOES THIS SONG DESERVE A #1 SLOT? PROBABLY NOT, AND IN A BETTER YEAR IT’D BE HARD TO JUSTIFY PUTTING THIS EVEN IN THE TOP FIVE. BUT WE DIDN’T GET A BETTER YEAR, DID WE? WE GOT 2016, OFFICIAL TAGLINE “THE YEAR EVERYTHING WENT TO SHIT”. A CHEERFUL, DORKY SONG ABOUT DANCING WAS PRETTY MUCH EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED, EVEN THOUGH I CANNOT, PERSONALLY, DANCE. IT CHEERED ME UP EVERY TIME I HEARD IT, AND THAT WAS FRANKLY EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED IT TO DO.
