im saying rn q is gonna set up the most ridiculously romantic thing he can. i mean, all out. lighting, atmosphere, color scheme, this is the type of thing hell spend like 4 months floating in space pondering to get it just right.

obv picard is like 90% sure the date is gonna be a trap but also he cant say no bc hes kinda into it [insert i know what you are dog here] he doesnt wanna make q upset and cause him to wreak havoc, so he plays along.

q makes up an entire fancy restaurant pocket dimension thingy (idk what the terminology is and its late give me a break) and (mostly) is a complete gentleman while picard is sitting there like 🧍‍♂️ when are you going to start killing me again

it takes a little bit but q eventually does one of those Big Speeches where he pours his heart out to picard (eliciting even more 🧍‍♂️ness as a response) and picard is like man. ive been thinking of you as a threat for YEARS i cant just up and trust you bc you took me to a fancy dinner once
