Saturday, December 16th, 2023 (03:30) JEFELEN recalls with great fondness the bygone era of the Saturday morning cartoon.

While I wouldn't necessarily suggest that that which I am about to present qualifies in the strictest sense, it does assuredly constitute an animated entertainment, and it is presently Saturday morning (my time, at least). And so, here we are...

Simply put, I genuinely could not have been keener to have served as a Producer on the Lightfold™ production of "Godspeed", from creator Olan Rogers. Yes, that Olan Rogers:

From the esteemed creator of "Final Space" comes "Godspeed", an animated twenty-eight minute short which follows the journey of Iris, an undaunted young woman, and her adorable karaoke-bot sidekick named Bowie, as they navigate the desolate landscape and abandoned homes of their crumbling world. Her path takes an unexpected turn when the pair stumble upon a mysterious broadcast that may well hold the key to their escape. To get the message, however, she must survive a planet-ending storm...

This is not a kids' show. As the opening disclaimer plainly stipulates, this is an artistic work that delves into intrinsically adult themes. This is The End... but it could yet be the beginning...

Moreso than ever, we're looking to play the all-pervasive regulatory algorithms here, so any respondent likes, comments, and/or shares would be greatly appreciated -- given the sheer amount of hard work that went into creating this labour of love, we really do wish to get "Godspeed" in front of as many eyes as possible (and if the public demand should subsequently present, MORE may yet follow...).

While I don't typically devote energy to showcasing the casts of the projects I present (feeling that actors are perfectly capable of speaking for themselves, by virtue of their visual representation), the same cannot be said for animation, ironically. Just in case anyone out there has made the mistaken assumption that I've shared a mere trailer above. I'm happy to see that the complete short has attracted some 75,000 views in its initial twenty-four hours of being live, which is a laudable public response, I feel... but for what could yet develop from this project, that prospective audience is required to increase exponentially. Have YOU joined their number as of yet?

As for Lightfold™, the prospects of this startup production house are promising, indeed -- time for the world at large see the light and join the fold, I say!

Discourse that centres on the apophthegm that queer-coded villains are inherently homophobic is so funny to me because I genuinely forget villains are evil sometimes. Yeah, that's my friend; the atrocities are an acquired taste but I promise they give him flavour. I agree that it's important to think about how we portray queerness (how fandoms treat oft-reviled GNC characters would be Exhibit A) but the premise that being a villain is bad is incredibly flawed.
