Paul wrangling John
Brian Epstein made the Beatles PR conscious: he would say, ‘Don’t smoke on stage’ and things like that. I was very pleased that they stopped smoking on stage as I didn’t like it myself. He had no difficulty persuading Paul as he knew instinctively how a band should behave on stage, but John was a rebel and George could be difficult.
Bob Wooler, c/o Spencer Leigh, The Best of Fellas: The Story of Bob Wooler. (2002)
JOHN: The truth about the separation was she kicked me out . . . so I (laughter) was adrift at sea . . . and there was nobody to protect me from myself which is fine. I should be able to look after myself but I never had, and there was Epstein or Paul to cover up for me. I’m not putting Paul down and I’m not putting Brian down. They’d done a good job in containing my personality from not causing too much trouble.
Barbara Graustark, “The Real John Lennon.” Newsweek (September 1980)
JOHN (with mock horror): My “lost weekend”? It lasted for eighteen months. I was like an elephant in zoo, aware that it’s trapped but not able to get out. It’s an extension of the craziness that I’d been doing with the Beatles in Hamburg in Liverpool, but it had been covered up by the people surrounding us. So when I freaked out, there would be Paul or Epstein to say “What he really means is he’s just a normal boy from a normal family who likes to shear sheep.” And the machinery around us would take care of the business. By the time we got to America, we were old hands at it. But if you look back at the Beatles’ first national press coverage, it was because I sent a guy to the hospital for calling me a fag, saying I slept with Brian Epstein.
Barbara Graustark, “The Real John Lennon.” Newsweek (September 1980)
“But all the time Paul, and Brian Epstein we’re always trying to kill me from saying anything. But because I was in so much pain, I’d always get drunk or drugged, and I’d always say something that didn’t suit them. And so always, I would leave a piece of shit amongst the Beatles image. But all the time they tried to kill me and kill me and bring me down to be a Beatle, to be a nice boy, be a Beatle. But if you look from the career of the Beatles, the first national news the Beatles ever got in the English newspapers was when I nearly killed somebody at Paul’s party. So all the famous news the Beatles ever got besides being Go–angels, was when I did something terrible through being in so much pain. So they could never keep me down.”
Oct 1971 - John and Yoko interviewed during John’s 31st birthday celebration by reporter Takahiro Imura
"I constantly saw Lennon and McCartney together because Paul came along to see that I wasn't rude to John - who I can't say I got on with. Paul didn't want me to upset John."
Sir Joseph Lockwood - Northern Songs: The True Story of the Beatles Song Publishing Empire, Brian Southall, 2008
Sometimes, though, I certainly thought John was being a complete idiot. Even though I was younger, I would try to explain to him why he was being stupid and why something he’d done was so unlike him. I remember him saying things to me like, ‘You know, Paul, I worry about how people are gonna remember me when I die.’ Thoughts like that shocked me, and I’d reply, ‘Hold on; just hold it right there. People are going to think you were great, and you’ve already done enough work to demonstrate that.’ I often felt like I was his priest and would have to say, ‘My son, you’re great. Just don’t worry about that.’
Paul McCartney, in The Lyrics (2021).
It came as a welcome relief that John and Paul, along with Neil Aspinall, planned a quick trip to New York on May 11, where several press events had been scheduled to announce Apple Records in the States. Friends agreed that getting John away might do him a world of good; being alone, with just Paul to steady him, might have a calming influence. Paul was grappling with his own set of anxieties. “We wanted a grand launch,” Paul said, “but I had a strange feeling and was very nervous.” Drugs, he later admitted, may have been at the root of his problem
Bob Spitz, The Beatles: The Biography, 2005
“The setting is the Blue Angel and Paul McCartney is upstairs talking to some press people, while in the basement is John Lennon shooting his mouth off, well away with the drink or whatever. He said, “Hitler should have finished the job”, meaning that the gas ovens should have been more active than they were. His manager was Jewish and I prevailed upon him to be quiet because the press were upstairs, but he didn’t take any notice of me. I told Paul that John was shooting his mouth off and that the press must not get wind of it. ”
Bob Wooler, c/o Spencer Leigh, Best of the Beatles: The Sacking of Pete Best. (2015)
“The party was at Auntie Gin’s house in Huyton. By now, Paul could afford a marquee in the garden. This is inside the house, where my comedy group, Scaffold, are performing for the guests. John Gorman and Roger McGough are onstage, and I’m photographing reactions to the act. The jokes are going well with Paul, his girlfriend Jane Asher, and an old school chum, Ivan Vaughn, but John Lennon was so pissed he kept shouting, ‘That’s not funny’ (until Paul told him to ‘Shhh!,’ which he did)…” -
Mike McCartney
[After John pours a beer on Chris Montez' head and starts a brawl] Everyone settled down in their seats. Paul McCartney tried to make peace with Chris. Chris said, “Paul sat by me and said, ‘Come on, Chris, let’s be friends….’ “I said, ‘Paul, just get away from me, I don’t want nothing to do with you guys. You know, you pissed me off!” As for Lennon, Chris recalled, “John? I guess he was a wise guy. But I got the sense that, I shouldn’t say this, that he was jealous of who I was or what I did. I don’t know what his problem was, but I didn’t like it too much.”
THE TRUTH BEHIND THE BRAWL BETWEEN JOHN LENNON AND CHRIS MONTEZ IN 1963! EXCLUSIVE!
JOHN: I used to try to get George to rebel with me. I’d say to him, “Look, we don’t need these fuckin’ suits. Let’s chuck them out of the window.” My little rebellion was to have my tie loose with the top button of my shirt undone. Paul’d always come up to me and put it straight.
John
PAUL: There’s a story that I used to straighten John’s tie before we went on stage. That seems to have become a symbol of what my attitude was supposed to have been. I’ve never straightened anyone’s tie in my life, except perhaps affectionately.
The Times Profile of Paul McCartney – 1982
I spoke to Paul about this night many years later, and he confirmed that he and George had been shaken rigid when they found out we were up on the roof. They knew John was having a what you might call a bad trip. John didn’t go back to Weybridge that night; Paul took him home to his place, in nearby Cavendish Road. They were intensely close, remember, and Paul would do almost anything for John. So, once they were safe inside, Paul took a tablet of LSD for the first time, 'So I could get with John’ as he put it- be with him in his misery and fear.
George Martin, With a Little Help from My Friends: The Making of Sgt. Pepper
AW: Isn’t he? Well, you know, of all the people, he comes through a lot of stick. Or a lot of people think he comes through a lot of stick in my book. But that’s the way John behaved. He behaved really outrageously. And Paul used to pour the oil on the troubled waters, as it were. But of all the people, only John, out of all the Beatles, have said that my book is the only book that gives a true insight to what it was to be an early Beatle. I admire him for that.
All You Need Is Love – Peter Brown & Steven Gaines
“We were in a daydream till he came along. We had no idea what we were doing. Seeing our marching orders on paper made it all official. Brian was trying to clean our image up, but, at the same time, he didn’t want us suddenly looking square. He would tell us jeans were not particularly smart and could we possibly manage to wear proper trousers. He literally fuckin’ cleaned us up! There were great fights between him and me, over me not wanting to dress up, and he and Paul wanting me to dress up. In fact, he and Paul had some kind of collusion to keep me straight.

Riley Weston, the writer-actress who generated an extraordinary amount of attention in the late ’90s for failing to disclose her true age while working for Felicity, has quietly found another way to enjoy success in TV: penning feel-good movies.
Her latest creation is Apples, Orchards & Romance, a new confection for Great American Family that stars Trevor Donovan (Jingle Bell Princess, “90210”) and Jessica Lowndes (I’m Glad It’s Christmas, Harmony from the Heart, “90210”).
The movie, which will air as part of the net’s annual Great American Autumn programming event that returns this September, follows teacher Drew Granger (Donovan) who accepts a temporary substitute job in his old hometown of Chestnut Hollow, Texas, where he meets Aiden, the proverbial new kid at school, desperate for a caring friend. While he would rather have taken a job anywhere else, Drew reconsiders Chestnut Hollow when he meets Lainie Abbott (Lowndes), the new manager of his parents’ massive apple orchard and cider mill business, and more importantly, Aiden’s mom. Production commences this week.
Weston wrote the screenplay (before the WGA strike) for Apples — one of many she’s penned since leaving Felicity in 1998. Her other titles include a collection of breezy movies for Hallmark such as Good Morning Christmas!, Always and Forever, and The Nanny Express.
“I love writing these rom-coms so much for a few reasons,” says Weston to Deadline. “First, I’m a diehard romantic who is still waiting for her own fairytale! Second, I love bringing joy to people, whether it’s through movies or music. My hope is that a movie like this can take people out of their work week for two hours and give them a little getaway from reality. They always make me feel hopeful and I try to get that feeling spread to the viewers. It’s also so awesome when I get to write a movie for friends. Trevor and I have wanted to work on something for a while now and this was the perfect project.”
Weston burst onto the scene in the late ’90s as a “wunderkind” 19-year-old staff writer for Felicity — until it was discovered that she lied about her real age to find acting jobs (the petite actor/scribe was actually 32). It was a rather trite offense, in retrospect, given the subsequent #MeToo era, but many executives and agents who promoted her so-called youth were left with egg on their faces.
“It’s been an accepted practice for actresses to lie about their age, especially in instances where they are always asked to play younger,” Weston said at the time. “I adopted an age appropriate for my physical appearance, never imagining I would one day become a writer. I could not be one age in the acting world and another in the writing world, so I chose to maintain the ruse. In a business fraught with age bias, I did what I felt I had to do to succeed.”
Weston left Felicity in the middle of the first season because her contract had expired, explained co-creator Matt Reeves during a 2021 interview with Entertainment Weekly (which was one of the first publications to play up Riley’s “wunderkind” status). Before she left, Reeves gave Weston a role as a teenager in one episode.
“People thought that we let her go because of it. None of that was true at all,” Reeves recalled to EW. “The story was blown so crazy out of proportion from the perspective of our relationship with Riley. We did discover that she was not telling us the truth, but it was after she had already finished her term. When you sign somebody on as a staff writer in those days, you had a number of scripts that you signed them to do. We just put her on the show because we thought, ‘well, let’s just let her do what we know she really wants to do as well, which is to be an actor.’ It got turned into a scandal that I’m not sure ever was. We liked her writing. That’s all.”
Weston has since settled in Tennessee where she writes and performs country songs — often at the famed Bluebird Café in Nashville. She’s garnered a dedicated following for her music and even wrote a song for Apples, Orchards & Romance.
“I’ve got a couple of great shows in July at The Bluebird Café and a few other venues,” she tells Deadline. “I’m so excited to also be working on my first Christmas album. There are a few new Christmas songs of mine that I am adapting into movies as well. Fingers crossed that I will be combining my acting, writing and music all together in a movie soon!”
Apples, Orchards & Romance is executive produced by Brad Krevoy, Amy Krell, Jimmy Townsend, Lorenzo Nardini, Cara J. Russell, Trevor Donovan, Kelly Martin, Susie Belzberg Krevoy, Don McCutcheon, and Jessica Lowndes. David Anselmo produces. Supervising producers are James Mou and W. Michael Beard. Associate Producer is Victor St. Pierre. Don McCutcheon directs.

Apple's EU AI delay: Innovation vs regulation
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/apples-eu-ai-delay-innovation-vs-regulation/
Apple's EU AI delay: Innovation vs regulation
.pp-multiple-authors-boxes-wrapper display:none; img width:100%;
Apple announced on Friday that it would block its highly anticipated Apple Intelligence AI features, iPhone Mirroring, and SharePlay Screen Sharing for EU users. While not entirely unexpected, this decision underscores the growing tension between rapid technological advancement and the EU’s stringent regulatory framework, particularly the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
From the EU’s perspective, this delay represents both a triumph and a challenge. It demonstrates the effectiveness of regulations safeguarding user privacy and promoting fair competition. The DMA and GDPR have forced tech giants to pause and reconsider their approaches, potentially leading to more user-centric and privacy-conscious products. However, this victory comes with a price: the risk of falling behind in the global AI race.
As other regions forge ahead with less restrictive policies, the EU must carefully balance its regulatory stance with the need to foster innovation and maintain competitiveness in the global tech landscape. For Apple, this delay is likely a calculated move. The company backs the decision by citing security and privacy reasons, which helps keep up its brand profile as a reputed tech giant that cares about privacy.
All in all, this could preserve user faith while giving Apple more time to adjust how its AI functions to be likewise compatible with EU law. But it also introduces competition and raises the risk that Apple will cede potential ground to competitors who might manage to navigate the regulatory environment faster. Nevertheless, postponing AI offerings of other tech behemoths such as Meta and Google in the EU also indicates a broader industry-wide challenge.
Many of those companies say they need large, trained AI systems to work correctly but claim that GDPR restrictions drastically limit what they can do in practice. That begs the question: Can advanced  AI technology coexist with some of the world’s strictest data protection regulations?
Apple’s AI product would most certainly receive scrutiny compared to its competitors. The core difficulty is the data-hungry nature of modern AI systems. To provide personalised and effective services, these AIs require access to enormous datasets, which may violate GDPR principles such as data minimisation and purpose limitation.
However, Apple could have an advantage in this area. Its emphasis on on-device processing and differential privacy approaches may enable it to develop AI features more compliant with EU standards. If successful, this might establish a new norm for privacy-preserving AI, providing Apple an advantage in the European market.
And it’s not Apple’s first encounter with EU regulation. In September 2021, the company complained about parts of the DMA rules that would have forced it to allow users to sideload apps from its App Store for the first time. Apple claimed that doing so would jeopardise user privacy and security, reinforcing its long-standing belief in the sanctity of its closed ecosystem.
Furthermore, Apple’s recent move to prohibit progressive web applications (PWAs) in the EU has caused developer objections. Many saw this decision as yet another attempt to resist regulatory pressure. However, in an unexpected turn of events, the EU concluded that Apple’s treatment of PWAs did not breach DMA guidelines, prompting the company to reconsider its decision.
Global implications: Fragmentation or harmonisation?
These incidents shed light on the intricate relationship between tech companies and regulators. Companies like Apple are known for resisting regulations they perceive as too strict. However, they must also be ready to adjust their strategies when their understanding of the rules is questioned.
The EU delay of Apple’s AI features is more than a bump in the road. It illustrates the complex relationship between legal and technological innovation. Finding that balance will be vital as we go forward. Regulators and the tech industry will both need to adapt to build a world where high-powered AI is allowed to operate while also respecting human rights and privacy.
It is a reminder that there are no clear courses to follow in the constantly changing world of AI. Governments, in turn, will need to be ready for fresh thinking and creative formulation if we want the powers of AI brought to the good in ways that are true to the values and rights on which our digital society rests.
However, the timing of the controversy raises questions about the future of global tech development. Will the digital landscape continue to fragment, with different functionalities available in other geographies based on what is permissible by that jurisdiction’s regulations? Or is it the direction of a more harmonised global approach to tech regulation and development?
As consumers, we find ourselves in a constant struggle between the forces of innovation and regulation. As technology advances, we are eager to embrace the newest AI-powered features that enhance our digital experiences and cater to our individual needs. However, it is equally important to us to prioritise protecting our privacy and data.
Companies such as Apple face the challenge of pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI and establishing new benchmarks for privacy and security. To sum up, Apple’s decision to delay its AI features in the EU is a major story in the continuing discussion of tech innovation and regulation. It highlights the need for a more sophisticated and collaborative strategy to form our digital future.
As we go down this path, it will be all the more important to have open and constructive conversations with all stakeholders—tech firms, regulators, users—to come up with solutions that promote innovation while safeguarding basic rights. Indeed, the future of AI fundamentally in Europe and on a global scale might be at stake as we struggle through these stormy seas.

Microsoft Teams will soon be added to Android Auto
Tumblr media
Over the past few years, employees have experienced the evolution of work environments, transitioning from the traditional office setting to remote work at home, and even extending to unconventional locations like hotel rooms. However, a new frontier emerges in the realm of work flexibility, as Microsoft Teams introduces a groundbreaking feature slated for February—enabling users to participate in work calls and meetings directly from the comfort of their cars. In an update on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the company disclosed that Microsoft Teams would soon be accessible on Android Auto, an application designed to integrate Android mobile phones with the car's infotainment system. This revelation follows an announcement made almost a year ago at Google I/O 2023 in May. This integration of Microsoft Teams with Android Auto empowers users to seamlessly join meetings and work calls directly from their vehicle's dashboard, eliminating the need for manual phone usage. Additionally, users gain the capability to conveniently view their calendars and upcoming events while on the go. The implementation of Microsoft Teams on Android Auto promises to streamline meeting access, facilitate calls to contacts through speed dial, and provide insights into recent calls. However, it remains uncertain whether users will have access to messaging features and other collaborative functionalities. Notably, Microsoft finds itself trailing behind competitors Zoom and Webex, which integrated with Android Auto in September of the preceding year. The delay in Microsoft's implementation, without any provided explanation, stands in contrast to its earlier support for Teams on Apple CarPlay as far back as 2021. The integration of productivity tools into in-car systems aligns with the growing trend of users preferring smartphone interfaces over built-in services from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). According to a recent McKinsey survey, nearly half of car buyers express a reluctance to purchase a vehicle lacking support for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. With Google reporting that the Android Auto app is actively used in 200 million cars, the addition of the Microsoft Teams app is poised to further bolster its user base. Major auto brands, including Volvo and Honda, have already embraced in-car connectivity, solidifying the integration of these technologies into the modern driving experience. Read the full article

Apple says goodbye to the Lightning charging cable
Tumblr media
For a long time, Apple resisted switching its in-house charging cable to the USB-C standard. With the iPhone 15 the time has now come. What innovations did Apple present in Cupertino?
Apple is saying goodbye to its in-house Lightning charging cable format and switching to the USB-C standard with the new iPhone 15. When it was introduced eleven years ago, Lightning was a big step forward because users no longer had to worry about which way to insert the connector. But recently Lightning has developed into a political bone of contention.
In September 2021, after a long and controversial debate, the EU made USB-C the uniform charging standard.[1] In the long term, this could prevent electronic waste because only one cable is needed for all devices - from laptops to tablet computers and smartphones to headphones and other small devices.[2]
Fear of trouble with customers
Apple had previously tried in vain to dissuade the EU from its plan. The iPhone manufacturer argued that politicians should not make small-scale regulations. The group referred to an initial attempt by the EU to make the technically inferior micro-USB port a standard. Apple also feared trouble with its own customers, who would then no longer be able to use their existing Lightning cables and other accessories with new devices.
At the one and a half hour presentation of the new iPhone generation on Tuesday at the company campus in Cupertino, the manager responsible for iPhone marketing, Kaiann Drance, took less than two minutes to talk about the far-reaching change for the Apple universe. She pointed out that MacBook laptops and iPad tablets have been able to be charged with USB-C for some time. You can also use it to synchronise data and connect accessories. Not a word about the EU's requirements, which would only have taken effect in a year.
Behind the scenes, however, it was said in Apple Park that it was right to defend itself against the fiddly Micro-USB standard years ago. The time is now ripe for a change. It is not yet clear whether Apple will also certify suitable USB-C cables in its “Made for iPhone” program (MFI) for a fee, as it did with the Lightning cable.
iPhone 15 Pro attracts with innovations
If you ignore the topic of USB-C, the iPhone 15 Pro in particular attracted innovations at the Apple event. Among other things, it gets a titanium housing and a new chip with greatly improved graphics performance. Making the more expensive Pro models more attractive is an effective way to keep sales high in a shrinking smartphone market.
The largest and most expensive iPhone - Pro Max - gets another innovation: five times optical zoom. A few months before the launch of Apple's VR glasses, the camera on the Pro models will also be able to take 3D images, which you can then immerse yourself in with the headset. Apple hopes that the content generated with the iPhone 15 Pro Max will facilitate the market launch of the computer glasses next year.
Meanwhile, the innovations from the Pro version from last year are now included in the new standard model. The iPhone 15 gets the image sensor with 48 megapixels for more detailed photos and the area for dynamically displaying current information.
For many buyers, however, the price is an important argument. And here Apple was able to announce good news, at least for the euro area. After Apple raised prices in Europe a year ago, in some cases significantly, given the weak euro exchange rate at the time, there is now a countermovement. The cheapest iPhone 15 now costs 949 euros - 50 euros less than the 14. The Pro entry-level model is now 100 euros cheaper at 1199 euros, but the price of the large Pro Max remained unchanged at 1449 euros.
Apple Watch also with new functions
Pricing helps Apple offset declines in the smartphone market. Recently, Apple was no longer able to defend itself against the general downturn: According to the analysis firm IDC[3], a good six percent fewer iPhones were sold in the second quarter than a year before. However, sales only fell by around 2.4 percent - so Apple managed to sell more expensive models. The iPhone is Apple's most important product and brings in more than half of its revenue.
The new version of the computer clock Apple Watch has, among other things, a faster chip and can now process requests to the voice assistant Siri directly on the device. The display can be twice as bright as the previous model.
What's new is that you can trigger watch functions by tapping your thumb and index finger together twice. This is intended to help you operate the watch when your other hand is not free. For example, you can use it to accept or end a call. The watch detects the type of movement using its sensors and machine learning.
Apple devoted a large part of the presentation to environmental issues. The responsible top manager Lisa Jackson announced that the new Apple watches are completely CO2 neutral. In addition, the group will no longer introduce new leather products. Even future bracelets from the luxury group Hermes will be made of fabric. The iPhone 15's casing is made from 75 percent recycled aluminum. In the Pro model, the chassis inside is made only from recycled aluminum. The cobalt in the batteries also comes from recycling.[4]

iPhone 15 Last Rumors, Price, Release Date, and Specs
Tumblr media
The iPhone 15 is due later this year expected September 2023, and rumors regarding probable hardware upgrades are already circulating. This year might bring a number of changes, like the switch to USB-C, an Apple Watch-like Action button, slimmer bezels, Dynamic Island for all models, and titanium Pro variants. iPhone 15 Release date Rumors are pointing to a few models: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. will be released in September 2023, or potentially October if it is postponed. Following multiple iPhone releases, it's evident that Apple prefers to introduce new phones in the autumn. iPhone 15 Price Rumors A price estimate this early won’t be accurate. But here's an idea: - iPhone 15: $899 - iPhone 15 Plus: $999 - iPhone 15 Pro: $1,099 - iPhone 15 Pro Max: $1,299 For comparison, the high-end model in the 2022 lineup, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, started at $1,099. This exaggerated price estimate is related to the possibility of increasing production expenses. According to Bloomberg, Apple is reportedly considering raising the prices of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Compared to the iPhone 14 series, the production cost of the iPhone 15 base model is expected to increase by around 12% and the iPhone 15 Pro model by around 20%. TSMC fab price hikes may be the main culprit pic.twitter.com/GovuLF27WC— Revegnus (@Tech_Reve) April 26, 2023 How to Pre-Order iPhone 15 ? You'll be able to pre-order the iPhone via Apple's website on the same day or shortly after it's introduced. The specifics will be revealed during the Apple event in 2023. iPhone 15 Features The iPhone operating system is updated on a yearly basis, as is the iPhone itself. This suggests that iOS 17 will be available by the time the iPhone 15 is released. Although the number sequence is rather simple, the actual functionality that this OS will provide are now unknown. There's still plenty of time between now and late 2023, so anticipate additional details to trickle in as the release date approaches. We'll keep this page updated with the latest rumours and leaks. iPhone 15 Specs and Hardware Despite no official announcement from Apple, a few data from leakers and analysts indicate to what the iPhone 15 specifications will most likely be. Beginning in 2017, Apple shifted away from Touch ID in favor of Face ID. That may change with the iPhone 15. Ming-Chi Kuo is a name you're definitely acquainted with if you follow Apple-related leaks. According to the expert, the 2023 iPhone will include in-screen Touch ID—since that release year corresponds to the iPhone 15, it's reasonable to assume that Touch ID will return to the iPhone 15, and it will be built-in underneath the display The iPhone 15's screen size is unknown, but Kuo predicts that Apple will release a "true full-screen iPhone" in 2024, as well as a lineup with an under-display front camera and under-display Face ID. The 2023 iPhone 15 range might be similar to what we've heard about the iPhone 16 display sizes: 6.3-inch iPhone 15 Pro and 6.9-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max, with the latter dubbed the Ultra model. Ross Young predicts the next several iPhone launches in terms of under-panel technology. The iPhone 15 will most likely include a pill-and-hole design, similar to the 2022 Pro versions. The Dynamic Island, which made headlines with the iPhone 14, is reported to be on its way. the iPhone 15, but this time to all models rather than just the iPhone Pro. Based on the technical challenges remaining for under panel cameras to meet discerning brands quality requirements as well as panel manufacturers' cost requirements, I still believe this roadmap makes sense for the iPhone. pic.twitter.com/3ck5X3sVcL— Ross Young (@DSCCRoss) May 10, 2022 A USB-C iPhone will undoubtedly be another huge development. The European Commission suggested USB-C as the standard connector for smartphones in late 2021, and subsequently confirmed the choice in mid-2022. Starting in 2024, European legislators will make it mandatory, requiring Apple to abandon the Lightning connection that has been the norm on iPhones. Unknownz21 tweeted a photo of the USB-C port, which you can see here. Ice Universe also features several renderings, which are said to be based on CAD drawings. In this video showing a putative demo version of the iPhone 15 Ultra, USB-C is also plainly visible. Another thing we've heard about the under-display technology is a front-facing camera. Chances are, this won't be available until Apple perfects under-display Face ID, but perhaps both will be available in the same year: in-screen camera and Face ID (though that may not be till the iPhone 16). According to this source, one or more versions will contain a 12MP periscope lens with 5-6x optical zoom. According to analyst Jeff Pu, one of the models would include a periscope camera with up to 10x optical magnification. According to one well-known tip, it may not be available on the iPhone 15 Pro, therefore we're likely to see this feature only on the Pro Max. The iPhone 15 Pro is expected to use the same 48MP sensor as the iPhone 14 Pro versions. Here's a peek at the iPhone 15 Pro's estimated camera bump size and some other details: This is iPhone 15 Pro - with @9to5mac! New buttons, giant camera bump, colors, and more… pic.twitter.com/NLFWHhYHpE— Ian Zelbo (@ianzelbo) April 7, 2023 According to one Apple leaker, the iPhone 15 will have an A16 chip, while the 15 Pro will have an A17 chip. According to the same source, Apple is working on 8K recording, which may be limited to the most expensive model. The Pro versions will also have a titanium frame, according to reports. According to patents and projections, the iPhone 15 might be the first iPhone to eliminate all (or virtually all) physical control buttons. Apple may do this by incorporating a touch sensor layer along the device's edge. This layer may be pressure sensitive, with different functions triggered based on the force exerted to certain locations. (However, later sources contradicted this, claiming that classic buttons will be included.) More cads images The buttons! Source in video pic.twitter.com/sxy9GaNCre— ShrimpApplePro 🍤 (@VNchocoTaco) March 20, 2023 We don't know how this phone will operate for sure yet, but another rumour has it that the Pro and Pro Max variants will include a multi-use Action button instead of the mute switch. This new button, like the iPhone's current Back Tap feature, might be set to specific actions, such as triggering the torch or Focus mode. According to one rumour, this button will be used for screenshots, and depending on how hard you push it, it will also auto-focus the camera, capture a picture, or record a video. According to an unconfirmed source, this iPhone will enable 15W wireless fast charging, which is nothing new. The meat of this rumour, though, is that it will function with third-party chargers that are not MagSafe certified. Here's a cool iPhone design that incorporates some of those features, such as in-screen Face ID and Touch ID. There's also an Apple Watch-like display over the back-facing camera housing that allows quick access to music and call controls. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OODVyvi7z_Q Read the full article
