In 1996 I was part of a theatrical group that had an environmental / social justice message to raise awareness for local and Global issues; during my 6-month participation with that group we had a presenter who made a strong impact on me; he presented on the topic of "owning your feelings"; the messages that I got from that short visit with this man have stayed with me the whole of my life; I am now a big advocate of owning my feelings wherever I am whatever I'm doing with whomever I interact or simply in the quiet of my thoughts and Solitude of my home I remind myself that whatever I am feeling in any given situation, whatever name I would assign to my emotions or my feelings they are okay, timely and appropriate for me. I have a humble home and minimal furnishings yet I appreciate every single piece of furniture I own I appreciate my couch my loveseat my table my fireplace my pantry my beds my desk my smartphone my laptop my washroom my bathtub my clothes my shoes my toiletries my electronic wires and connectors and things and chargers I appreciate having internet access I appreciate my little fridge with just the right amount of food to eat I appreciate my appetite I appreciate my organization and my cleanliness and the artwork in my home and the pictures of my friends and the special kept letters and notes and artwork and meaningful quotes around my house I appreciate my life I have a lot to be thankful for I feel very blessed and I have everything I need I am happy with the sum of my possessions I appreciate all the things I can make use of I appreciate my guitars too very important!
