They both come off as arrogant to some degree imo 😊

They're older than they look They're both 'trapped' in a body much younger than their original selves ie. Haibara is 18 yet her body is 7, Senku is 3700+ years old, his body is that of a highschooler.

They both have a second shot in life.

good afternoon I was thinking about cousins!shuuake alternative the whole night because I still can't believe I live in this horrible no good timeline

(please bear in mind that this is my headcanon though seeing how it probably doesn't really correspond with canon it might as well be an au)

if you've been here for like five months or so you'll notice that i support the akai-hondou ties so much, and before this my headcanon was that ethan and tsutomu knew each other because ethan got caught by the mi5 when he's investigating the org in brittain. I was planning to make this a fic and my brain produced high-pitched noises when i tried to write that scene, so i concluded that No. this won't work

and then when I was brainstorming with my sister (it's more like we're ranting tbh) i thought about hidemi-akai's and eisuke-shuukichi's resemblances, and THEN one post of @masterdetectivexx 's came to my mind!!! I paraphrase here that mrs hondou is akai tsutomu's sister, and that ethan met her because tsutomu was a cia agent- but now that we know tsutomu was an mi6 agent instead, i will offer you one alternative:

mrs hondou actually worked for the org.

LIKE ive been wondering for ages how did ethan met mrs hondou because this is the guy who's been investigating the org for three years before his marriage and only visited his family once a year after. my guess is that she provided ethan information on the org and probably about this project she's working on and yes you guessed right! the aptx4869 itself.

i say this because what vermouth said to mary on that bridge at that time; "how does it feel to die of your own sister's creation?", suggested that mrs hondou was involved in the making of aptx. so yeah. she's one of the organization's scientist, and was also ethan's intel, until they fell in love or whatever

i am still thinking about the reason why the got married because I feel like it's an important plot point but i haven't figured it out yet maybe I'm gonna at the end of this post lmao

but yeah they eventually got married and had hidemi not long after. now here things are getting kinda sketchy because

if mrs hondou married ethan 27 years ago, had a kid, still continued working until like ten years later (since she eventually worked for that rich family), the org must've known about hidemi too and now that they know that ethan was a noc, seeing someone who looks too much like his kid would've pretty much decided hidemi's fate, and the hondous sending her to the us would be pretty sus because like... why

THAT'S how i came to the conclusion that maybe mrs hondou was trying to find a way out from the org, and in return would give ethan any information she'd got on the organization

so. she had worked as a bo scientist, and escaped with ethan's help.

THINGS ARE GETTING DARKER HERE LADS HERE WE GO

so mrs hondou was basically a traitor right. I was rereading clash of red and black and not only does that arc raise more questions than answers, it also gave me some horrible ideas :D

so there at the mother's memento case, eisuke said that his mother died ten years ago. and it's not only his mother's death that happened ten years ago! :D

ethan also started infiltrating the org deeper on that very same year.

damn me to hell for thinking about this fucked up thing but yeah it's not entirely impossible that ethan killed his own wife.

LIKE the cia as we know it has been investigating the org for at least seventeen years at that time and there's probably been barely any progress on their investigation and they're getting desperate and ethan, knowing that the org was hunting his wife down to the end of the earth MIGHT just think of killing her to gain the organization's attention.

christ this is horrible i need to lay down for a sec

(oh also another parallel: both ethan and hidemi killed a family member and gained the org's attention, though the latter was done on purpose.)

but hey tsutomu and mrs hondou being siblings doesn't explain why hidemi and ethan and akai didn't seem to recognize each other when they're in the org??? i thought the same too until i remembered ethan and tsutomu and mary all worked for an intelligence agency and I assume they're not gonna tell their kids about their crime-fighting-behind-the-shadows(-sometimes-we-also-do-the-crimes) uncles and auntie

and about mrs hondou, she did work for the org but like i guess there's nothing too suspicious for tsutomu and mary? since it seems like only seventeen years ago from the current timeline that they're aware of the bo

maybe the reason why ethan and hidemi didn't recognize akai and vice versa was because. like. there really wasn't that much photo of his uncle and his cousin at his home (if there's even any), and though hidemi eventually knew about rye's real identity, i think I'm gonna go with ethan and mrs hondou telling her (and eisuke too probably) only tsutomu's alias, hence why she didn't recognize him as her cousin or anything because

even if akai's cover has been blown for two years and hidemi investigated it just to make sure, she'll only be provided with the name akai shuichi, and not the name her parents told her.

also like it's possible that they never really crossed paths in the org

though. I think akai might recognize ethan when he saw the picture eisuke took accidentally from one of the photographs back in his home or something, and remember that we still have no idea how akai knows for sure that ethan hondou was a cia agent.

I thought that since akai is assigned to investigate the org he might have an access to the files of investigation, the kouji case included, wait i haven't explained what my hc about this case is have i jfjdhfh the main thing is that the fbi+cia noted that there might be a sort of meeting between a haneda and someone from the org. so like i thought akai might found out about ethan from that file but when I think about it... it's not like they're gonna put their agent's name on paper BUT there is another solution! which is!!

it's something like hey mom found a pic of uncle ishikawa while investigating, care to explain what's going on? or something

oh and vermouth telling mary about dying of her sister's creation means that she actually knew about mrs hondou and the akais' familial ties (bc unlike ethan with his fake identities mrs hondou was just a scientist and tracing her family tree shouldn't be that hard), which means.

she probably also knows about mrs hondou's kids.

eisuke, most likely, since hidemi spent most of her time in the us (conan and heiji had difficulties trying to track down her history, whether it was about mizunashi rena or hondou hidemi) (also. like. she's a secret agent)

though vermouth must be familiar with the name hondou hidemi. the org is probably on the lookout for her since she's 27 now and hasn't been seen since ten years ago and so they assumed she also gets involved with the black org

but this is probably limited to vermouth's knowledge only? because if she knew about mrs hondou and her husband which turned out to be a spy, and eisuke is still alive even though he's rather easy to track, that means she hasn't told the org about this information

also if she's bothered to investigate, she'd find hidemi's pic and so that's how vermouth came to the conclusion that rena is a mole

the person taking care of eisuke being tsutomu would seriously be so funny because that means tsutomu wasn't ignoring eisuke's investigation. hes encouraging him

i mean like mary is doing exactly the same to sera. this is totally something an akai would do fjfjjdjfjf

oh and. hahah. the parallel between rena and keynes' quotes became more painful because speaking of sacrifices ethan didn't mention to her, he must haven't told her about the true nature of her mom's death.

It’s totally okay to deviate from the prompts! You can even come up with your own prompts or tweak them a bit if you’re not feeling any of them. Here’s some ideas as per how you may interpret them:

[rubs chin] See, I’m not really into the fandom so I wouldn’t be the most adequate person to answer you this, but I do ship pre-aptx4869 GinSherry and … why not? Even in an AU kinda way!

However in an official drill a few years back Gosho kinda confirmed that Gin and Shiho were sort on a (dubious) romantic (?) relationship.

tl;dr: GinSherry IS canon.

I love Shiho and I love the idea of her making terrible choices with her naive, teenage heart. Gin is easily someone who she could have fallen for (and our gal has incredibly high standards). That said, you don’t recognize someone by a single strand of hair, and when Conan was about to ask her about their relationship after she escaped from the rooftop, she deliberately changed the subject.

(This is a ghetto translation on my part but you get the idea)

Conan: But what’s concerning is that they seem to know Haibara’s movements a little too well… As if they were completely sure that she’d be there. 

Recognizing someone just by their hair, usually…  

“Hey, when you were in the organization, did you…?” 

Haibara: What? Did they found about my body shrunking into a child?

When he says “usually” , he was gonna allude at the kind of relationship it would imply, that is, the what kind of relationship between Gin and Shiho. I’m still bitter that 20+ years later we don’t know what was Conan going to ask her! “Did you..?” what?? did you date Gin lmfao?? What were you gonna ask Cone oh, come onnnnnn. I wanna know.

And Shiho, sneaky lady. She knew where this convo was leading to. She cut him off mid sentence. (Because that’s none of your business, Kudo-kun)

The only theory (which borderlines in wishful thinking hahah) I can think of is one that @ask-gin-vodka and me have been entertaining for a while and it’s that Akemi is actually not dead but instead is being kept hidden by Gin who’s like either this super secret spy or had a change of heart because his undying obsessive love towards Shiho :’D

My Aptx!AU sypnosis is here.

(Cont.) Arthur LeBlanc (shrunken Hakuba) joined the Detective Boys and was invited, along with the KID Killer (he already hate that name) to a heist at one of Suzuki Jirokichi’s wealthy acquaintances’s. The target this time is a Chalice, recent excavated from a sight of an ancient holy battle.

Despite telling Kaito that he would not compromise his conscience and aid him in the heist, Hakuba found himself easily disregarding that boundary when the situation became complicated (a person presented at the heist is a BO member) and Kaito’s identity is at risk. In the end, he would always choose Kaito. What he didn’t expect was for that sentiment to be reciprocated…

Imo, if Saguru were to be drugged with APTX4689, it would be because he stumbled upon the Black Org at a heist and stepped in as they were about to harm Kaito. Kaito brought him home and they work together to find the antidote (and pandora). Now, instead of chasing after KID, Hakuba is put into a position where he has to cover up KID’s trail against other detectives (which he will have moral crisises about) and fend off the Black Org.

(Kaito becomes very protective of Tiny-guru because he felt guilty Hakuba’s drugged because of him).

Hakuba’s alias would be something like Arthur LeBlanc (Arthur Conan Doyle and Maurice LeBlanc - author of Arsene Lupin and Blanc means white, which Saguru took quite an offense to, but hey, Kaito’s the one forging documents here 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Unlike Conan, I don’t think Hakuba would let his parents know about his predicament. He doesn’t seem to be close with his parents and wouldn’t want to bother/endanger them. Each of his parents just thought he was staying with the other one. At most, he tells Bayaa.

Arthur enrolled into the same primary school as Conan, and immediately arose suspicion when the Detective Boys arrived at a murder scene only to be informed that the crime has already been solved by another first grader. Ai Haibara, especially, did not trust him and avoid Arthur at all costs. Conan further suspect him when Arthur shows up at every heist.

Ahhhhh please feed me more ideas! This was fun. I’d likely draw more atpx!Hakuba in the future!

Seeing lurking for a while but would love to ask more about your Aptx4689 aus, specifically tiny!Hakuba but Arthur's appearance is came right after Hakuba's sudden leave of absence to "solve a case". Probably means it'll be extra quiet for Kaito while the rest of the class moves on with their high school life since this is normal for them.

What do you think Kaito's reaction is when he's asked what he thought about Arthur as "the second Kid Killer"? And if Arthur is one day found waiting for him outside of their school? (Cue Aoko asking if Kaito babysitting Arthur because he missed Hakuba. Arthur is deeply amused as Kaito sputters)

hiiiii, sorry for the late response; your ask had me thinking for a bit 😃

I think you're right, for the class, nothing would seem out of the ordinary since Hakuba's already frequently absent from class. But for Kaito, Aoko caught him glancing at Hakuba's desk more, being more quiet. She charged this up to Kaito's having a crush on said detective (which Kaito does, he just didn't know it yet lol).

I don't think someone as careful as Hakuba would show up at Ekoda high, however, since he stay at Kaito's, one day Aoko just badge in while they're discussing the Black Org and saw him > cue reaction similar to Ran in the first chap. Except Kaito spluttered and said it's Hakuba's relative from abroad, which springs a boatload more question from his childhood friend. Luckily, Kaito's good at adlibing shits: "Yes it's Hakuba's cousin visiting"; "No, Hakubastard had to run to solve some case and is currently abroad"; "Am I watching over the kid because I miss him? Psssh, he paid me to do it!"

And I don't think Arthur would be the second KID Killer. If anything, Kaito would proclaim him "KID's biggest fan" because: a) it would make sense to Aoko that Hakuba would pay Kaito - a known KID fanatic - to babysit this "cousin"; b) it would explain his inaction at heists when he shadows the Detective Boys; and c) it pisses Hakuba off so much it's funny.

Another thing is that since Hakuba now knows there is such thing as aptx4869 exists, he pretty quickly deduced the real identity of Conan (Chalice of Selene comics where when Hakuba throw Conan, he said "Sorry Kudo" instead of "Conan"). But since he hadn't yet know how Shinichi is planning to act, what sorts of security and threats is on him, and fearing that associations with him would lead the Black Org members who might be watching Conan straight to KID, Hakuba has reserves about formally forming an alliance. Which is why he enrolled at the primary school: to watch Conan closely before making a decision.

It should also be noted that in this AU, Saguru is completely head-over-heels for Kaito, but had long since resigned himself to be contended with unrequited affection. He believes himself to be no more than a nuisance to Kaito and is only being kept around because Kaito felt indebted to him for saving his life. Whatever the case, Saguru is prepared to sacrifice much for Kaito. On the other hand, Kaito, being his tsundere self, acts all annoyed because he's flustered by Hakuba. In truth, he harbors quite a big crush on his classmate, but disregards the fluttering feeling he felt each time to the adrenaline of the chase.

so yeah, they're messy 🫠 But as they work together and face various danger trying to dismantle the Black Org, I'm sure their truth would slowly be brought to the light 😉 (pun intended)
