Have you ever heard of the Street Sharks? They're like a parody of the Ninja Turtles but they're biker sharks. Also they like burgers and hate pizza 🤣

I have heard of those guys, yeah! Unfortunately, I was born too late and never got the chance to watch them. I love the history behind these projects. TMNT started as a parody of comics like Frank Miller's "Dare Devil" (Splinter being a parody of "Stick", The Foot a parody of "The Hand"), Teen Titans (hence the "teen" part of the title) and X-Men (hence the "mutant" part of the title). All while mixing in teen culture and surfer dialect. When TMNT got super popular, it kick started the Black and White boom of comics in the mid 80's to 90's. This was a time that inspired many indie creators to launch their own projects following the TMNT format. Some of my faves from this time include "Bone" by Jeff Smith and "Elf Quest" by Wendy Pini.

PS, did you know that the phrase "Cowabunga" came from a Snoopy comic from "The Peanuts"? One of the people working on the 1987 TMNT cartoon had read that and just put it into the show. Flipping wild!

Oh my gosh! Thank you! More than happy to recommend a bunch of videos that helped me over the years! For human anatomy I highly recommend Proko's playlist

Some basics on perspective

Jess Chung is great with talking about "mountain lines" and "forest lines" with mapping out different plans of perspective. I also use this principle for "city lines" and whatnot.

Color with Kurt helped me SO much with coloring and figuring out some shading techniques.

So in your comic about hair thing for gargoyles, what does cutting and shaving mean?

OnlyBangs. But really, I can only guess that cutting and shaving would be either something their mate can do, or it's they do themselves. I mean, look how long their hair (usually) goes to. From what I can tell, Goliath is pretty precise with this cutting. Hudson probably uses his sword dagger. And Brooklyn looks like he uses his claws to get that rock and roll look.

Listened to Diamante's "1987" and it inspired an 80's get up. One thing led to another and in the end it turned into a closet raid for Vee.

Not gonna lie, dressing up characters is fun to me, and I LOVE her ugly 80's jellyfish dress.

First of all, the fact that you consider this a "Verse" is waaay too kind✨ . Thank you! I was just kinda sitting here being like, "Huh, these two properties I like happen to be in New York. Let's GOO!" 😆 Second, personally I mostly focus on 'Gargoyles' and 'Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' to keep it simple. Two groups of monsters who are trying to protect the city, awesome 👍 Now because there are so many stories that take place in New York, for y'all, it's a free for all. Kinda like a soda fountain. Squirt in whatever you want together. 🥤🥤🥤 Because I'm an Urban Fantasy girlie, I like to slip in some 'What We Do In The Shadows' just for kicks and giggles from time to time. 🦇
