My Aranacci Shawl was published in Knotions online magazine back in April (so long ago and yet no time at all ago simultaneously! 😅) Now it has been added to my own shop, Etsy, @makerist and @lovecraftsknitting , so it's even easier to find 😀 (I know I'm biased, but it's a lovely knit! Would anyone like to test knit a cosy cable knit beanie just right for Autumn? If so, please let me know in the comments! My latest beanie design, the Ballybrit Beanie, is ready for test knitting 😀 It's a one-skein knit in Aran or worsted weight yarn, comes in 3 adult sizes, and is knit in the round using 2 sizes of circular needle. As some of you know (dear newsletter subscribers & blog readers!) I've been working on an Aran version of the Beirt Beanie. It's taken a while because I've worked the crown decreases 3 different ways! And that's where you come in... I like 2 of the 3 I've come up with, but I'm not sure if I should include both versions in the written pattern. Hopefully you can see the difference in the close-up photos here: the light green hat has a slight zig-zag in it (following the zig-zag motif from the main body of the hat, and the dark green hat has one continuous swirl. Which version do you prefer? I'll do a quick poll in my Stories, but you can comment here if that's easier or quicker for you. Anyone fancy a beanie test knit? It's such a long time since I started working on this pattern, but I finally had the chance to get the design written and am nearly ready to go. The hat is cabled, and worked in the round using Aran weight yarn and 2 sizes of needle (5 & 5.5mm, which if memory serves is US8 & 9). Both of these hats were knit in Drops Nepal. One size is given (Adult) with suggestions on modifying for a larger or smaller hat. Ideally I'd like 2 testers; what I am mostly checking is whether the sections where you have to move the stitch marker to accomodate the cabling are easy to follow. Let me know if you're interested, and fancy knitting a hat in the next few days! Here is the second hat I designed using @sionnachyarns beautiful new Aran base (which is coming soon). I called this one the Burren Beanie, in a nod to Sionnach Yarns' location 🙂 Would anyone fancy test-knitting it? It's quite a quick knit, as the pattern repeats over 8 rows (and 8 stitches). It's knit on circular needles, and takes 100g of Aran weight yarn.
