I miss soap operas. Can I request some soap opera drama? I know it’s a lot but Joel gets amnesia? Doesn’t remember leaving midge? I just think it would be a hilarious idea!

Typically, Archie Cleary is not one to panic. He is not a panicker by nature.

But there are some days...

Like today...

When a shelf of heavy lighting gear for the stage falls on his best friend...

That he panics.

"Run all this by me again," Joel says, pressing a towel filled with ice to his head.

Archie blows out a breath. Said best friend has some minor...temporary amnesia.

"He'll be fine," Mei promises. "Just keep him calm and keep him here, and his memories should start to come back in the next few hours."

The problems are these:

Joel doesn't remember that he and Midge are divorced.

He doesn't remember spilling the beans about fucking Penny Pann.

Or moving out.

Or quitting his job at the plastics company.

Or buying the club.

Or just...Mei. in general.

"You got a little...pissy one night," Archie tells him awkwardly. Again. "And you confessed that you were sleeping with Penny-"

"Why would I do that?! It was just a phase!"

"It turned from a phase to a habit," Archie explains. "So you told her, and then you packed up her suitcase and you left."

"I left."

"Yes."

"With my things in her suitcase."

"Yep."

"Why did I do that?"

"I assume you weren't really thinking clearly that night."

"And that was...?"

"Yom Kippur, 1958."

"And it is..."

"Almost Christmas, 1961."

"I went and got Midge back, didn't I?"

"Well, you kinda...tried."

"I tried?"

"You were bad at it."

"I was bad at it?!"

"Imogene says you showed up and you uh...told her you were thinking about giving things another try and she turned you down."

"She turned me down?! Midge. Midge turned me down?"

"You really hurt her, Pal. She was devastated. And then she kinda...started a comedy career. Talking about being cheated and left and stuff..."

"What?!"

"Mei!!"

"Who is Mei?!"

"Your wife, and the mother of your third child."

"I'm sorry?!"

"Mei! Mei, Mei, Mei I don't wanna do this anymore!"

Mei steps into the back office and sighs heavily. "Joel: You hit your head. You've temporarily lost your memories. They will come back. You put your dick in a woman who wasn't your wife, and then you left said wife. She turned her pain into a lucrative comedy career while you opened this club and met me. I got pregnant. Midge got a new boyfriend-"

"Midge has a boyfriend?! What the fuck, I'll kill him."

"You won't," Mei says.

"Yes, I will."

"No, you won't."

"I fucking will!"

"He's Lenny Bruce."

"WHAT?!"

Mei blinks at Archie. "You uh...you didn't have to tell him that."

"It just slipped out!"

"My wife is fucking Lenny Bruce?!"

"Your ex-wife is fucking Lenny Bruce," Archie corrects him. "Ex. Ex. You left her, Joel. You fucked Penny Pann and then you told her you fucked Penny Pann and then you packed her suitcase with your things and left. You tried to go back, Midge was too hurt, you refused to apologize for what you did, you got divorced, you got drunkenly remarried in Vegas for a second, divorced again, Mei got pregnant, you got remarried, Midge started dating Lenny Bruce earlier this year and now they're engaged-"

"WHAT!?"

"And here we are. Mei, if we hit him over the head again, will it bring his memories back?"

"Probably just cause a traumatic brain injury."

"So no."

"Hello?" Midge's voice calls from the bar area. "Joel? Archie? Are you here?"

"MIDGE?!" Joel hollers, getting to his feet and stumbling out.

Mei follows quickly. "Midge, full disclosure, he hit his head, he's lost his pre-Yom Kippur 1958 memories, and he's-"

"Midge, what the fuck happened to us?!"

Midge blinks owlishly, a stuffed bunny in her hands. "You put your dick in a brainless twenty-one-year-old, and then you left."

"But-"

"The last time you took the kids, Esther left her bunny. Since you're coming to get them tomorrow...assuming you have your memories back...I figured I'd head off disaster and bring the bunny by early."

"You're fucking Lenny Bruce," Joel says, obviously still in shock.

"I'm marrying Lenny Bruce," Midge corrects him. "You married Mei earlier this year, and next year, Lenny and I are getting married. Don't worry, you already told me you didn't want to come, so I'm not wasting an invitation."

He stares at her with very real heartbreak in his eyes. "You couldn't forgive me, even a little?"

"You weren't sorry," she says evenly. "It's hard to forgive someone who isn't sorry." She takes a breath and turns to Mei and Archie. "You're sure he's okay? He doesn't need a hospital?"

"There's not much they can do about the memory thing," Mei explains. "He's not showing signs of trauma or internal bleeding. He's just confused."

Midge nods and sighs softly. "Okay. Well." She hands Mei the bunny. "I guess let me know if he's coming for the kids tomorrow or not."

"Midge-"

"Feel better, Joel," she says, patting his shoulder before heading out again.

He watches her go, and then turns back to Archie.

"Fuck, Arch."

"Yeah. Come on, Joel. Time to sit with more ice."

okay so thoughts on the finale of PLL OS ! spoilers ahead!!

so many thoughts!! first off, i wasn't a huge fan of the ten episodes in four weeks thing UNTIl i realized its basically like the perfect combo between full season drops and like an ep of a week!

OKAY SO chip was the assulator, i saw a few people point this out from the start and i didn't want to beleive it but when he started dating Imegon and acting a bit weird with her, he def seemed sus. Before we found out who he was, I just felt bad that he was cleary in love (obessesd maybe is the better word) with Tabby and was only dating Imegon cause he couldn't have her.

Now with the reveal - when we saw the clearly younger version of clayton in the caf with the girls, my mind did go there but then i honestly forget about it. I think if they had done a better job of setting up clayton as a character, the reveal would have more of a punch (like with chip.) Also, I'm sorry but A being Angela's brother come on? Did they not learn anything from the OG PLL, I get that its different situations but it still felt like a cop out

that's my segway to Sheriff Beasly. I'm happy he wasn't A but I also wouldn't have minded if he was A, I guess it was too obvious? From a a POV of caring about the charactes, I'm happy he's dead. But from looking at the plot and future seasons, I think it wouldn've been more interesting to keep him alive.

Overall, I did really enjoy the show and the characters. I can see improvement from the OG but I will say, the whole "A-ness" of the new show did not match the old one, which I guess was the point, they didn't want to just copy and paste. I'm wondering now if there is two As, the one who didn't sign the texts and the one who did?

With the ending, A is out for Chip but like we already know who A is ? (Please his name being Archie knowing that Riverdale exisits in the same universe makes me laugh) So in my feelings, it doesn't really feel like a cliffhanger cause I don't really care what happens to Chip and they didn't set up a new A or any cliffhangers wiith the girls.

I really thought Kelly was Karen so I guess I'm shocked, it's actually Kelly though I think a apart of me will also be ready for a reval that it's Karen lol

I'm also suprised that Wes wasn't apart of anything at all? I hope he ends up apart of it in the future, maybe they could do what they should've done with Ezra - make him a big bad and keep him that way. Though in saying I don't want Tabby and him to date.

And the nod the OGs of having Aria and Ezra apdot Imegon's baby like ugh lol, i don't hate it but idk i don't love it either.

I could probaly say. a lot more i just wanted to word vomit my thoughts lol

The Best Pilot Episodes

I think a good pilot episode can make or break a show. If the first episode isn’t good, there’s no reason for people to keep watching. It needs to set up the overall premise of the show, introduce the characters, and give us a feel for what to expect in future episodes. And it’s much easier said than done. There are hundreds of shows that barely get through the first few episodes on air before it gets canceled. So a good pilot is extremely important to keep a show on the air. Here are some of my favorites.

Parenthood

Parenthood is one of those shows that make you emotional every time you watch it. And the pilot episode is no different. It introduces us to the entire Braverman clan, and there are a lot of them. But because this is a show about a family, it also tells us why it’s starting now. Sarah’s out of money so she drives her kids back home to her parents’ house. And that’s what sets us up for the rest of the show. The show overall goes in waves. There’s the hectic family dynamic when they’re all together. But then, there are the quieter moments, the ones that open the watergates. And that’s truly why the show works. And the pilot episode is good enough to get you through the rest of the show.

Gilmore Girls

Most Gilmore Girl episodes have very little plot. And it’s part of what makes the writing so brilliant. But this is a pilot episode so there has to be something other than the fast talking to hook people. So it sets up the rest of the show when Lorelai asks her parents for money. Which is the last thing she wants to do. But Amy Sherman-Palladino said it best when she said “I knew from the dinner scene in the pilot that dinner table scene in the pilot, we had the show”.

Sherlock

Sherlock is a popular show for a reason. And just to be clear, I’m not talking about the unaired pilot (because truth be told, I haven’t seen it). The actual first episode of the show does a brilliant job establishing the overall tone of the show and introducing us to Sherlock Holmes. And the plot of a serial killer playing games with his victims is incredibly intriguing. When Sherlock comes face-to-face with him, it’s an intense scene. And one that really makes this pilot episode.

ok i finally got around to watching the last episode of mrs maisel and oh ?? my ?? god ??????????

first of all wHAT?? like i figured a drama filled cliff hanger was very possible given last season's ending but wow i wasn't expecting that. I mean I'm always shocked in this show but wow.

and I really liked Reggie.. he was tough but he was smart you know? but that was the coward's way out and he hurt Midge for his own screw up. ugh. and poor Shy, he doesn't understand and is probably extremely hurt because Reggie would rather lie to him than own up to his own mistake. UGH. the anger is still strong.

also Rose has been a less than stellar character this whole show but that's the height of yikes I think.. I do wonder if something's gonna come back for Ben and Midge because he would've been a supportive husband, he wouldn't have minded her telling jokes because that was the woman he fell in love with originally. she made her choice and didn't even talk to him so I do wonder about them..

When they showed Rose talking to Ben and then Susie admitting to losing all Midge's money I thought for sure they were gonna say Midge would do a marriage of convenience so that her family could have a place to stay. kinda glad that didn't happen but that just goes to show how unprepared I was for every single thing that happened this season.

and then Archie. ugh. men are dUmb. really really dumb. he thought he could just leave home like Joel did, save for the sleeping around bit, and just not be a father for awhile but it would all be fine and Imogene would just take him back. what because Joel is such a great example of model father/husband behavior?? it's not like the relationship he and Midge have was something that came easily. it happened with a lot of broken pride(on his part) and hurt feelings (on hers). they worked it out cos they realized they loved each other and they loved their kids. amicable divorced parenting isn't a common thing Archie and you should feel stupid. also was that Imogene going out and getting a job at the end? is that about that feeling of self reliance and independence? good for her if that's what they were meaning.

also can we talk about how Zelda deserves better?? hands down my favorite character (except for Mei). and omg Joel's parents. Moishe is sarcastic which I like cos I relate to it. and I do love that he and Midge had that talk.

oh and then there was that thing they tried to force between Lenny and Midge that about made me throw hands cos I've loved their friendship from the start and why can't men and women just be friends without one of them being gay ?? tv do you not understand? I'm not asking for much. that really pissed me off though. they're great and they come in and out of each other's lives at different stages and they inspire each other but they wouldn't work together. they wouldn't. stop forcing every heterosexual pairing possible for the sake of tv plEASE.

and then that whole mess with Sophie was disappointing but I'm not surprised. she's so self centered she couldn't even see she was ruining a good chance all because she reverted back on what was comfortable. she got nervous, it was her first show, so mess up a few lines!! don't try and take over the show with your cringy overused comedy.

and then Astrid as a mom.. that poor kid lol. also Mei and Midge finally meeting!! ah it was as great as I expected (read: them torturing Joel) I wish they'd shown Mei's reaction to her on stage but I guess they didn't figure it was too important. and Jackie?? who looks like a whole mess?? is this wonderful househusband!! oof. the updates he did to Susie's apartment, the little apron he wears. how he doesn't take any of her shit and gives it right back. noice. but that weird stalker guy could maybe go away lol.

all in all im still hooked and im three seasons in so I'd say it's a success. it's really hard for me to stay with a show after season one and season two was iffy at times for me but they picked it up perfectly, or as perfectly as a show that thrives on the crazy can be.

"What?" Imogene asks as she finishes making dinner that night and sets it on the table.

The kids are at his mother's, and so they have a chance for a quiet evening together, which is rare, between her typing job for Abe and Archie's nights at the club.

"You ever wonder if you really know somebody?" Archie asks.

Imogene frowns. "Well... I did wonder about you at first, all those nights at the club, barely any at home..."

"Never lettin' me live that down."

"Not on your life, Archibald."

"Gah, not the full name!"

Imogene laughs and sits down after serving the food. "So? Who are we talking about?"

"Well...Joel."

Imogene rolls her eyes.

"I know. I know. You're loyal to Midge, so you're not his biggest fan."

Imogene smiles brightly. "Whatever gave you that idea."

"Honey..."

She takes a deep, cleansing breath. "Fine. What's Joel done now?"

"He sort of...well...he started talkin' about Midge," Archie says honestly. "About her accident. That she's...that she's not the same."

"Of course she's not the same," Imogene says. "Who would be the same? She was hit by a car. A real car. A moving car. She nearly died. I helped her with her skin and hair routines while she was lying in a hospital bed."

Archie shifts a little, uncomfortable. "I know."

"So? Joel isn't happy that Midge isn't the same as she was before she got hit by a literal car?" Imogene asks. "As if she was supposed to just get up, brush herself off and make him a brisket?"

"Of course not," Archie assures her. "He'd been drinking. He just...it was like he was mourning the person she was. What do I even do with that, you know? I wanna be supportive. He loved Midge for a long time, for god's sake. But he has Mei now, and Midge has the new guy. Lenny, right?"

"Yes. Lenny. Tall. Better-looking than Joel," Imogene informs him.

"Right."

Imogene sighs softly. "Archie, it's very sweet of you to want to help Joel. He is your best friend. I know. But he is also...how do I say this nicely...?"

"A jack-ass?"

"Oh, I like that," Imogene nods. "Yes. He is a jack-ass. And sometimes you have to just watch him jack-ass around until he gets tired."

Archie sighs and nods. "Yeah. You're right."

"Most of the time," she grins.

This season is weird because Ras made it like that. What's happening is canon and perfectly real like BA baby. Ras posted it for a reason. Betty want to be with Archie she always wanted to be and that will stay that way for the rest of the show

Which by the way, was the first time he ever really did that. He turned her down in S1 and she turned him down in S4, not to mention all the other times when one or both of them went "we wouldn't work". So what exactly changed now? Nothing

Thord was strolling around the Outcasts mansion when he caught Lucas with his door slightly open, He was crying a little bit while Looking at a photo That Thord could not directly see. “Hey dad?” Lucas jumped for a second. “Jesus! Thord! W-what do you need..? It’s 11:30 At night!” “I was just walking, What are YOU doing up at 11:30 at night crying at a picture?” Lucas looked surprised for a minute, But a few tears rolled down his cheeks, The photo was handed to Thord and to his surprise he saw a small illager…Cleary young, He had wolf ears and tail matching the color of his skin and the same teal wings as Lucas. “Who is this?” Thord asked, Lucas had his head down in sadness, but replied to the illager: “…He’s my son…But he’s gone now…” Thord looked pretty sad now himself. “Did he go missing..? Did he die..?-“ “Both…” Thord facial expression was a mixture of sadness and shock. Lucas noticed, replying: “I’m assuming You want to know what happened…” Thord nodded. “okay then… As you know, There was a short 3 month period where I was staying at your old tribes mansion due to some certain circumstances… The first day I came Archie ran straight into me, When I looked at him all I saw was my little boy… But I’m pretty sure you don’t want to here me banter about Archie for an hour so here’s the story before all of those events…As you know I’ve had a first death, Allowing me to become the Demi-god entity that I today…While I was in the heavens I had a son, Andy…He was four years old when one day I let him play outside in the yard of our place. From what I could hear he was having a ton of fun, Until it went quite… I looked outside and He wasn’t in the yard, Like any parent, I panicked. I called his name More times then I can count and sooner or later The entire Neighborhood was on the case of my lost baby; I asked if anyone has seen him at all after not finding him for a while, they said they saw nothing… I even went as far as to ask his School teachers About behavior changed close to this happening and it was another no…So as you can imagine I was stuck. I couldn’t find Andy, But he couldn’t have gone that far! He was 4! I then came to the conclusion that he had to have been kidnapped, What other option was there? And so I looked further… It got to the point to where I found myself in the nether…Where in one of those red forests I had to the misfortune of finding Andy… dead…” Lucases tears came faster now as he whimpered, Thord was equally as distraught and Shocked. “I saw him there and i just… I couldn’t handle it…I screamed, I cried, I panicked more than I ever did Before… I took his body back up to the heavens where in witch I presented Andys dead body to Zeus… I tried to heal him…So did many others… But soon after we couldn’t revive him, People started to speculate about how he ended dead, And in the nether of all places! It soon got to the point to where people started to Blame ME! Saying how it was my fault sense no one was Watching over him but me, Saying how I could have Kept him Gone from people and then killed him last minute not knowing what to do with him…” Lucas sobbed now, tears streaming down his face like waterfalls… “It soon got to the point to where I was kicked out of heaven…Never to Return… but before I left, Zeus gave me one last mission… It was to punish walda… And be a guardian angel For someone… I soon met walda and arrangements were made… Now Que me Meeting Archie and the Events that prospected after…” Thord shocked, To say he was shivering would be and understatement. “Was- Was Andy’s death the reason you became so protective over Archie..?!” “Yes Thord…yes it was…I lost Andy and then I met Archie, Someone so close to my son… I just… I guess something clicked inside of me that day that made the connection Immediate…I still remember the day we lost Archie before he became king, He went to go play at a pond just near us and he was gone…I was more scared than ever I tell ya… I was getting flash backs and panicked left right up down and center! Thankfully I soon found him at his palace.

And got to work with him for a while before the orb was destroyed And he was eat free. But goodness gracious…After all of that I just-“ Lucas was then hugged by a very emotional Thord. “Omg…! I am so sorry! About all of that…!” “It’s okay Thord…Go back to your room and get some sleep Alright?” “K-okay dad…Goodnight…” “Goodnight…” All the while Outside the door of the Winged wolf stood Archie. He hadn’t been there the whole time, But he had been there long enough to hear the story and the explanations that followed. He was shocked, But to tired to try and talk to Lucas… And so he went to his room and hopped in his bed where Calvin was there waiting for him… “Are you okay love? You look sad or nervous!” “…. I’ll tell you tomorrow honey…” And with that the two fell asleep…
