Sure, it’s nice enough to feminize yourself and transition into the girl of your dreams. But what if your wishes of feminization are a little different from the rest? What if you prefer to have a role, usually dominated by cis males, where you have the power to make change? A little sugar, spice, and everything nice doesn’t hurt a bit.

I’m back, for now. I finally got my setup fixed and finished with my promise. Everyone who participated in my “game” post sent me some interesting scenarios. But after evaluating all of the choices, I ultimately went with becoming a feminine political representative. I ended up using a Positions pic of Ariana for the caption. I feel it fits best with the feminization of workplaces where women aren’t seen as the norm. So congrats @tinyscissorscreatorvoid for winning the game! Everyone else, thank you for participating! Alas, the time has come my friends to say goodbye to LA and also to the @mikaelaville 😫 I can't complain too much though as I am told I get to count her as one of my 😊 For those who wonder what she is like IRL.. she is just as and hilarious and as wonderful as you think she is. She is absolutely her authentic self in her videos and posts. I am going to miss spending time with her tremendously. P!NK – Atlantic City Boardwalk – Atlantic City, NJ – July 12, 2017

We have a saying in my family: If someone offers you an opportunity to jet ski for free, you just say yes (and thank you). So when PopEntertainment offered me the opportunity to cover the 2017 Atlantic City Beachfest Concert Series’ P!NK  concert, I just had to say yes. I have been a fan of P!NK’s music for years, have admired videos of her performance and had always wanted to see her perform live. I was clearly not alone.

Arriving at the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, P!NK fans were easily and plentifully identifiable – wearing earlier tour tees, pink hair, with that mischievous ready-to-rock gleam in their eyes.  At 3:30, fans were already forming into lines and crowds.  The venue handled crowd flow easily – entrances were well marked and groups were funneled in through few security check points.  Gates opened earlier than the posted 5 pm, allowing people early access to mark their space with beach towels and chairs.

It was hot.  Real hot. I was amazed at how many people were arriving so early in this heat. P!NK would not be performing until at least 8:25pm per LiveNation and other media sites.  The venue set up water fill stations and spray stations to try to keep people cool. Closer in by the stage, crews were spraying water with hoses into the crowd. It didn’t change the fact that this was sweat-from-every-sweatable-body-part hot, but it made the wait tolerable.  My guess is the $50 towel from the official merchandise stand made a killing as people (including me) chose a functional, sweat-absorbing souvenir.  

At 5:52pm, we got our first sound check and more of the crowd took to their feet.  Philadelphia DJ Dee Jay took first place in the evening’s line up, playing a mix of rock and hip hop.  He played for about an hour, but lost most of my attention after a couple of songs. Same for the couple sitting next to me – the husband, a DJ and sound guy from Hartford, CT, popped some ear buds into his ears and his wife, Minnie and I started chatting.  

The couple drove in five-plus hours for this concert to fulfill Minnie’s bucket list dream of seeing P!NK perform live. They purchased what they thought were first row tickets (at $400 + fees per ticket) –splurging on the experience at the top-tier ticket price to find out that there were no rows, and certainly no priority placed on the higher dollar ticket as compared to anyone else in the same section.  We heard the same story from a far more belligerent older man and his wife who had exchanged “words” and even some physical contact with staff trying to rectify the situation. I suspect the venue will be getting a few heated emails this week from people in this ticket category.

Dreamcarz took the stage as the opening band, with their pencil-mustached lead singer, female sax player and bare-chested drummer. I’d never heard their music before, but they took the crowd with their vibrant pop-rock vibe that was perfectly matched for this crowd and beach venue. They dedicated their final song to P!NK and the crowd went crazy.

Around 8pm, we watched the crew transition the stage from the Dreamcarz red drum kit set up to a giant Pin Cushion based set. The night was cooling down and fans expectantly took to their feet and moved closer to the stage.  Beyond the barrier at the front right of the stage area, fans were treated to a glimpse of P!NK’s family.  Security dogs walked the runway a few times while helicopters circled overhead – a reminder of our current world climate in a post-Ariana Grande concert world, but not anything that took the joy out of being on that beach with hardly a cloud streak in the sky, minutes away from watching a bucket-list fulfilling performance.

Just before 9pm, stage ready, the band took to the stage.  Everyone was on their feet-with cell phones and recording devices at the ready.  The band started playing a building intro fit for a queen’s entrance – the crowd anxiously trying to figure out what the opening song would be.  Fittingly, P!NK opened with a powerhouse performance of “Get the Party Started,” with acrobatics, incredible dance moves, and even fireworks.  She danced down the catwalk in her breezy striped pants and the crowd went crazy.  

She performed a familiar and crowd-pleasing total of 18 songs.  The stage transformed with large background props and vibrant projections, changing from song to song.  She gave a shout out to having the best of everything – the best band, the best fans, the best family – and the crowd loved it.  After “Just a Pill” P!NK engaged with the crowd asking “How the hell is everybody?” and shared that Atlantic City is her mom’s home town.  After “Trouble” she interacted with some fans and picked up some fan presents – including a stuffed toy Gizmo from Gremlins, a laminated letter and a handmade circular print pic of P!NK giving the finger.

“Try” displayed haunting vocals accompanied by a pas de deux performed by two female dancers, showing the pain and strength required to keep trying.  P!NK took to the catwalk and the entire crowd sang along while she performed “Just Give Me a Reason.”  P!NK got soulful with her guitarist at the edge of the catwalk, surrounded by flowers, for acoustic versions of “Who Knew?” and “Less Than Perfect,” the family-friendly version of her song “Fuckin’ Perfect.”  

There were a few intriguing covers, including Led Zeppelin's “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You,”displaying big drums and a killer guitar solo at the end, which also allowed P!NK a costume change to black pants and a white blazer.  Later, she treated us to her favorite cover of “Rivers” by Bishop Briggs, complete with stunning projections.

The pyrotechnics came alive “Just Like Fire,” and the crowd was treated with another P!NK performance down the cat walk. The full team showed off their athletic dance moves in “Blow Me (One Last Kiss).” “Raise Your Glass” rounded out the full energy evening, complete with fireworks.

But wait, what was the aerial set up?  Fans excitedly watched as the aerial harness lowered to the stage.  P!NK returned to the stage and harnessed in.  She said she was ready and the music started.  With the familiar intro to “So What,” the crowd spontaneously combusted! P!NK was raised into the air and belted out key lines of the song, while her backup singers took up most of the underlying song to allow her to show off her aerial acrobatics (while still singing….a signature P!NK move!)

All and all, this was a stellar spectacular performance – everything that this fan imagined it would be.  P!NK is a soulfully talented singer and gifted performer with a team and fan base that she clearly appreciates.  It was truly a night to remember.

Watch this dad's hilarious reaction to his 8-year-old's awkward iPad search history

You can run, you can hide, but you can't escape your internet search history. 

Your search history is sort of like an old friend, who will never stop bringing up that one embarrassing thing you did that one time. Like when you had a burning to desire to know what Elton John was actually singing in "Rocket Man," or how long it would take to cook a turkey in the microwave, your search history was there to capture those sweet, sweet memories. 

Although everyone can relate to begging your friend to destroy your hard drive post-mortem, it doesn't mean we can't have a little fun at the expense of someone else's weird searches.

Twitter user Ashleigh Wilson captured the moment her dad decided to take a look at their iPad history for her 8-year-old brother's searches.

The searches start off innocent enough with things like "lucid dreaming," and then transition to an odd series of searches fixated on celebrity deaths. There are a few that are very typical to 8-year-old boys like Club Ubisoft, Fortnite, and Shadical, a popular Fortnite YouTuber. Then there are head-scratchers like "arson," and the grand finale. Ashleigh's dad absolutely loses it after seeing the final search, "bbq sauce on tiittes." 

While at first glance, that might seem like something very NSFW, it's actually a reference to a popular Vine, which is itself a reference to a scene from Orange is the New Black.

Some Twitter users were commending her brother on his relatable questions and his taste in music such as David Bowie. Others, though, had a couple questions.

In a wholesome twist, the Fortnite YouTuber Shadical, mentioned in one of the searches, reached out to Ashleigh on Twitter, saying that he would film himself doing a face reveal exclusively for her younger brother. Considering her brother had previously spent around £200 on Fortnite with their parents' credit card, he seems to be a pretty big fan.

Now Christmas is over, prepare yourself for the miserable dating trend of snowglobing

Now Christmas is over and we transition from a diet of leftover cheese and chocolate oranges to being properly functioning adults, it’s time to keep your wits about you.

No, not in the sense of starting the New Year fresh and full of vim and vigour.

Instead you must brace yourself for the risk of a cruel and unusual dating trend that threatens to drag you right out of the warm and fuzzy festive time into the cold, harsh reality of a post-Christmas winter.

Prepare for snowglobing.

The term, created by the good people over at Cosmpolitan, describes the occurrence of dating someone and having a wonderful time over Christmas, only to be dumped the moment January hits.

It’s snowglobing because for the brief time you’re dating, the person creates a cosy little festive cocoon in which everything is wonderful.

Inside the globe of their own creation, all the cutesy festive things take place.

They take you ice skating, you go to Winter Wonderland, you even exchange gifts. You’re lulled into a false sense of security, thinking that if you’ve been doing all this romantic stuff you must be on track for a longterm relationship.

Then, just as you’re preparing yourself to get back to work and back to reality, you’re dumped.

Your visions of a relationship smash into tiny pieces, like a snowglobe being chucked at the floor.

The existence of snowglobing makes sense when you think about it. Consider the leadup to Christmas, cuffing season, making everyone think they want to be coupled up. Ponder all the Christmasssy things that are portrayed as best enjoyed in a relationship.

Then as you enter the New Year, you start to take stock and consider whether this bond is really worth taking into 2020, or if it’s best left as a fond festive memory.

Couples therapist Gary Brown says people tend to snowglobe because they either don’t want to be alone over the holidays, or they’re embarrassed to be single when everyone else is being cute and cuddly.

Our advice? Just be glad you got a present (and avoided getting scrooged).

After all, you’re far better off without someone who’s only with you because the Christmas spirit has made them feel romantic. Leave them in this decade and move forward free of the nonsense.

Dating terms and trends, defined

Blue-stalling: When two people are dating and acting like a couple, but one person in the partnership states they're unready for any sort of label or commitment (despite acting in a different manner).

Breadcrumbing: Leaving ‘breadcrumbs’ of interest – random noncommittal messages and notifications that seem to lead on forever, but don’t actually end up taking you anywhere worthwhile Breadcrumbing is all about piquing someone’s interest without the payoff of a date or a relationship.

Caspering: Being a friendly ghost - meaning yes, you ghost, but you offer an explanation beforehand. Caspering is all about being a nice human being with common decency. A novel idea.

Catfish: Someone who uses a fake identity to lure dates online.

Clearing: Clearing season happens in January. It’s when we’re so miserable thanks to Christmas being over, the cold weather, and general seasonal dreariness, that we will hook up with anyone just so we don’t feel completely unattractive. You might bang an ex, or give that creepy guy who you don’t really fancy a chance, or put up with truly awful sex just so you can feel human touch. It’s a tough time. Stay strong.

Cloutlighting: Cloutlighting is the combo of gaslighting and chasing social media clout. Someone will bait the person they’re dating on camera with the intention of getting them upset or angry, or making them look stupid, then share the video for everyone to laugh at.

Cockfishing: Also known as catcocking. When someone sending dick pics uses photo editing software or other methods to change the look of their penis, usually making it look bigger than it really is.

Cuffing season: The chilly autumn and winter months when you are struck by a desire to be coupled up, or cuffed.

Firedooring: Being firedoored is when the access is entirely on one side, so you're always waiting for them to call or text and your efforts are shot down.

Fishing: When someone will send out messages to a bunch of people to see who’d be interested in hooking up, wait to see who responds, then take their pick of who they want to get with. It’s called fishing because the fisher loads up on bait, waits for one fish to bite, then ignores all the others.

Flashpanner: Someone who’s addicted to that warm, fuzzy, and exciting start bit of a relationship, but can’t handle the hard bits that might come after – such as having to make a firm commitment, or meeting their parents, or posting an Instagram photo with them captioned as ‘this one’.

Freckling: Freckling is when someone pops into your dating life when the weather’s nice… and then vanishes once it’s a little chillier.

Gatsbying: To post a video, picture or selfie to public social media purely for a love interest to see it.

Ghosting: Cutting off all communication without explanation.

Grande-ing: Being grateful, rather than resentful, for your exes, just like Ariana Grande.

Hatfishing: When someone who looks better when wearing a hat has pics on their dating profile that exclusively show them wearing hats.

Kittenfishing: Using images that are of you, but are flattering to a point that it might be deceptive. So using really old or heavily edited photos, for example. Kittenfishes can also wildly exaggerate their height, age, interests, or accomplishments.

Lovebombing: Showering someone with attention, gifts, gestures of affection, and promises for your future relationship, only to distract them from your not-so-great bits. In extreme cases this can form the basis for an abusive relationship.

Microcheating: Cheating without physically crossing the line. So stuff like emotional cheating, sexting, confiding in someone other than your partner, that sort of thing.

Mountaineering: Reaching for people who might be out of your league, or reaching for the absolute top of the mountain.

Obligaswiping: The act of endlessly swiping on dating apps and flirt-chatting away with no legitimate intention of meeting up, so you can tell yourself you're doing *something* to put yourself out there.

Orbiting: The act of watching someone's Instagram stories or liking their tweets or generally staying in their 'orbit' after a breakup.

Paperclipping: When someone sporadically pops up to remind you of their existence, to prevent you from ever fully moving on.

Preating: Pre-cheating - laying the groundwork and putting out feelers for cheating, by sending flirty messages or getting closer to a work crush.

Prowling: Going hot and cold when it comes to expressing romantic interest.

R-bombing: Not responding to your messages but reading them all, so you see the 'delivered' and 'read' signs and feel like throwing your phone across the room.

Scroogeing: Dumping someone right before Christmas so you don't have to buy them a present.

Shadowing: Posing with a hot friend in all your dating app photos, knowing people will assume you're the attractive one and will be too polite to ask.

Shaveducking: Feeling deeply confused over whether you're really attracted to a person or if they just have great facial hair.

Sneating:When you go on dates just for a free meal.

Stashing: The act of hiding someone you're dating from your friends, family, and social media.

Submarineing: When someone ghosts, then suddenly returns and acts like nothing happened.

V-lationshipping:When someone you used to date reappears just around Valentine's Day, usually out of loneliness and desperation.

You-turning: Falling head over heels for someone, only to suddenly change your mind and dip.

Zombieing: Ghosting then returning from the dead. Different from submarineing because at least a zombie will acknowledge their distance.

Dream Log 9.17.17

So I had this really weird dream where I was dating Ariana Grande?? But it was actually cute? Like I was this weird shorehouse, my room was small but it was cozy, like I had one of those Windows are the walls thing, a bed, a tv, and in the corner near the entrance two giant comfy chairs with a small table. But anyway the dream wasn't much, it was like hanging out with these 2 dudes and fucking ariana Grande and nothing really happened, just hanging out and low-key flirting and shit. I think we had a real long hug once? Also did one of those walk up from behind and hug things.

After that the dream transitioned and I was at shop rite at like 7am looking for food being all happy and giggly and shit thinking of how happy I was being into someone that liked me,back and then I went outside and saw this kid in the dirt literally transform into a wooden fish. And I looked out at the beach it was sunrise. Looked nice.

I woke up at like 7am and felt super alone cause I haven't connected with someone in like 3 years and post college is such a hopeless case with relationships. I also went on Instagram and sure enough ariana Grande posted a cute pic and I just felt weird cause like...cmon there's just something funny about having a dream about dating goddamn ariana Grande I don't mean that in a bad way just like...cmon 😂

I'm still fighting off a head cold.. what did you give me @mikaelaville ? 😁 jk, I think with after coming back to 4 days of constant rain, flooded rivers, and very high humidity after being in LA.. my body is like WTH let's go back to that nice place! 😂 Regardless of how I have been feeling, work is back to a normal pace, and after a little extra rest I am ready to go grab some sushi with friends tonight. I also got to meet my cousin for lunch today. She is up visiting from Florida and hasn't seen me since before I had been able to just be me. Ever get back from a vacation and feel like the world is punishing you for taking time for yourself? The world exploded in on me last night and today. We had issues with a rollout at work and I was up until almost 1am to help with that. Then there was fallout and catching up today because of that. I was making some uncharacteristic mistakes and feeling stupid while trying to find one last issue. Also, my kids were here and I could not give them the attention I wanted at lunch and dinner time after missing them last week due to catching up on work. During a conference call, I heard someone accidentally misgender me on the phone. No wonder, my voice was stressed and tired. It's been a long time since that has happened. I just wanted to hang up and cry. On top of all that, I just really want to be back in LA and run away from it all for just a short while.. I miss the feeling of being stress free and happy. Arrgh. I do feel better now though. I needed to decompress and got to go to the salon for a blowout on my hair. It needed it after traveling. I also streamed again finally on twitch and said hi to some friends there. It was a wonderful weekend. Friday night I went out with friends and met some new people. We danced and bar hopped until the wee hours, and on Saturday I got to celebrate a friend's birthday at a private wine bar reserve room followed by an after party at another local bar. It was a blast! On both nights.. I was approached by someone at a bar. 😲 What was a rare thing is becoming more common. Still getting used to it though 😊 Today is a get stuff done day.
