If his new responsibilities as acting governor weren’t enough, he had also found himself with more on his plate when it came to dealing with the aftermath of the disastrous wedding. He was tired of cleaning up the mess that Cersei left in her wake. Putting out the fires she had started with no regard for what damage that they could do to The Iron Bank. Left unchecked they could easily turn some of his plans into ashes and he had no intention of allowing that to happen. The sooner he managed to depose her the better. But in the meantime, there were amends to be made and he had wasted no time in reaching out to those he had considered his personal allies to begin making them.
He knew that he was lucky that she had said yes, after all, Cersei’s actions meant that it was hard to trust anyone with ties to the Lannisters now. “Arianne, thank you for meeting me.” Smile on his features was still warm but less bright than usual, almost as if he had dimmed its usual brilliance out of respect. “You have my deepest condolences for your cousin.”
