What a terrific day today! I got to be the Gaffer and Camera Assistant to wetplate Photographers Kent Ohler and Adam Ohler. Thanks to Nadji Films for providing a safe shooting space and Grip / Electric gear for this shoot! Also thanks to Cathrine Jacobs for helping both photo and grip assist! I really got to knock the rust off my Gaffing skills after two months of not working, while also adapting modern Cinema style lighting and camera techniques to an ancient camera system, all while practicing social distancing in a set environment! I also learned today that wetplate photography reacts very well to HMIs and poorly to LEDs. They must need the spectrum of light emitted by HMIs, which is similar to full spectrum sunlight. Interesting!
