Ely Clothes Study - Daily 269

These were the culmination of various studies. Expression studies, Clothing studies, Environmental studies, and a Light study. Had quite the amount of fun doing these, and they sprouted some ideas as well. This character's name is Jesse.

In regards to the art piece in the lower left, I had used this as a reference. As soon as I had seen this character, she instantly made me think of Jesse. Couldn’t stop myself from doing a study. That particular reference also worked out well because of the various light sources around the character that I could experiment with.

my goal is to eventually not have to trace over the ref to get the shapes down. i can just see the shapes right there.

Continued light study. This was rather interesting. This character's name is Luis. As a chance to try something different, I attempted to use purples/greens for lights and shadows. The most fun I had with this was illustrating the large moth behind Luis. I don't draw this beast often. I enjoyed the aura it would have given, had I completed this study. Similarly to the Deer. This Moth is symbolic of an abusive, predatory relationship. ‘Relationship’ being neither platonic or romantic. I tend to experience difficulty explaining the connection between the Moth and the Deer. As time passed between their initial creation and now, their relations have become rather complex and ever-changing.

This was a light study. Had quite the amount working on it, even though it's incomplete. This character's name is Luis. I don't have much commentary on this one in particular. There's a lot I wish I completed, but I just didn't have the motivation left to finish it. And this was mostly experimental.
