Hermitcraft creature au worldbuilding! (This au is a hermitcraft members x mobs au) also tiny update that i will most likely change around some mobs since i made the original au a long time ago and i'm not longer feeling the same on some of the choices.

There are mutiple ways and reasons for people to be/become these mob hybrids. And there are different categories that come with being one.

So let's start on what a hybrid is. A regular mob often times lacks a spark in itself that makes it truly alive, this being a soul. There are different ways to exist as a mob with soul, and it's not just being part human. Hybrid for my au doesn't mean a human/mob mix but specifically a mob and soul mix!

There are many different ways to be one of these hybrids. In some cases like Illusioner!Scar or Slime!Jevin, they were mobs born with a soul and a more human-like functionality then others of their kind and often times they mimmick the way humans look. This is most common amongst already humanoid mobs but any mob besides an animal can be born with a soul like this. The born hybrid types tend to be most comfortable in their skin, since being a mob is all they know.

In cases like enderdragon!Grian and (to be decided) Mumbo, they were originally regular old humans but went through  certain magical experiences in their lives which resulted in their bodies gaining that mob addition. This isn't a common thing since not just any old person with powers can do something like this, it requires a truly powerful person. The turned ones are able to keep a balance between their human and new gained mob side but may struggle with power issues or  getting used to their body. Such as Grian getting used to the weight of wings. I am thinking about adding that human-mob hybrids can also just be born like that for enderman!pearl but i really want her to be connected to why Grian is an enderdragon.

And then there's the dying soul ones. People who were a human before but thanks to one thing or another found themselves dead of near death. If a fire is able to light within these dying souls, it may cause someone to basically come back from the death or be granted a push to survive if dying. This is also the way an animal hybrid typically happens. Cases for these are for example Wither!Ren and Articfox!Etho. It's most common for the cases of people who already died to become an undead hybrid, such as the wither case for Ren. These typically have less control of their powers since they went from being a human to being a full on mob in both body, spirit and powers.

Bought some black articfox hairdye not too long ago. It was a good choice for about 32 hours. Then I turned blue. Now? Now I'm green. Not investing in permanent black hairdye has been a terrible mistake and one that will haunt me forever.
