idk if you will get to see this ever but i wanted to ask you are there any gemstones that are Egyptian related

Turquoise was used alot in ancient Egypt so I always imagined them being based on the style

Also a bit self indulgent but I modeled them to look a little like my lapis/peridot turquoise too 😤

Have you thought of how would your Petrified Woods look corrupted and uncorrupted?

I've always thought they'd be big lumbering (ha) druidic looking creatures when corrupted. I think they'd walk upright but run on all fours

Hello hope you're doing well. I've been trying find some gemstones to work with but while I'm searching gold, silver and platinum always come up on gemstone websites so I wanted to ask if those could be used for gemsonas. Thanks

Yeah, you can make gemsonas from metals. Bismuth is a metal after all!

I made a Gold and Silver myself ages ago, it was more of an character design exercise practicing with contrasting shapes

They’re Opals (Singular): I imagine they either be therapists or healers since I heard they are associated with healing.

I've done a lot of designs for single opals over the years and I was never 100% happy with them... this is one of the last versions I did that're more matronly, they might be fitting visually to the roles you're wanting to go for

Would Gold + Silver make Electrum, the name of the silver/gold alloy, or something else, like Playinum or another metal?

Uhh not completely!

This is the same one as the corrupted one but healed. They have features like cracks in their bark, jagged mouth, broken antlers and no pupils post corruption

I just edited the Crazy Lace version I did haha >> Not that much changed since her last form, just removed a horn and made her markings a bit more jaggedy

They are Londonites - these gems are gifted to high ranking gems to help make difficult decisions 

Sounds like a secretary/personal risk calculator type of job. This was what initially came to mind

Can you think of a good design for my characters? My friend wants to know a good design for my characters. They’re Kunzites: gems who can manipulate and see time. (control and see the future and past)

I have some Kunzites, not sure about their abilities but they're based on canon Orange Spodumene since Kunzite is a type of spodumene too. They might help give you some ideas

These two live on Carbonado's hidden sanctuary planet. Most of the random gem sketches I have are/were ideas for gems that live there

I was playing with the idea of a Lapis/Nephrite fusion that was butterfly themed named Chrysocolla, never did anything with it tho

So I think Chrysocolla or Malacolla could be good choices?

Do you know if any other metal can form crystals, like bismuth?

Well, a lot metals are actually crystalline in structure in their natural forms but if you're more meaning are there any other metals that form more unique crystal structures then Bismuth is definitely the main standout due to it's step like formation and iridescence from light exposure - Pyrite naturally forms in cubic crystals (there are real metals that form like this too but Pyrite is probably the most well known and has the best examples for this type of structure)

Vanadium crystals can also be pretty cool looking

Tetrahedrite can form in these pyramid like crystals

I just remembered how you predicted White Diamond's eyes with Carbonado's lmfao

Oh yes! I was pretty happy with how well I thought her design ended up contrasting and complimenting White’s canon one

Her original (pre-shatter attempt) form is the one with the white pupils. I thought it would be cool for a black diamond to have inverted pupil colours and then it ended up being canon so... 🤷 it worked out
