The day before my high school graduation ceremony a juvenile steller's jay hit my window and died before I could climb outside to hold him. I buried his body in the backyard but when I dug him back up a year later to honor his bones there was nothing left. Rest easy little guy.

Inktober 21 - Chains

I'm pretty sure that ghosts dragging chains around predates A Christmas Carol, but I think he added the "each link was created by an act of greed or selfishness" aspect. And ever since I was a child, I wondered what would happen if you were just minorly selfish a couple of times over the course of your life. I mean, even if you're a good person, you're going to slip up and snap at people occasionally, so does that mean that every ghost has some amount of chain? Maybe it was just minor things, so it's a thin chain with small links. But there's got to be at least a little chain.
