One more video for today... I’m showing all the ink pads I use. I’m based in japan so I use Tsukineko brand which is also available in my Etsy shop and all around the world. I’m using my plumeria stamps as I got a request how I can get the clear stamped results which also led to my today’s other video how to put inks on stamps with ink pads. But mostly, each ink pad series are different and even more different if the inks are different brands. Some inks may work in machine made stamps better than hand carved stamps, or works better on clear stamps than machine made stamps... this is because stamps are made of different materials. each ink pad series are designed with different ink formula, different purposes, etc. the paper types also influence stamped results. Even between the same ink types like dye or pigment. There are water based, oil based and some are alcohol inks. Inks are designed to be stamped on some surfaces. If the ink is multi purpose like versacraft ink pads I use often, the stamped results are different even on several paper types or between 2 types of cotton fabrics, sheeting or canvas... there is no inks which works for all stamp types or materials... unfortunately. If anyone invents one ink type compatible with all types of stamps or stamping surfaces, she’ll be rich. When I’m stamping on uncounted paper like photocopy paper or notebook, I’m happy with water based pigment ink pads like versafine ink pads, versafine clair ink pads especially for detailed stamping. Then, versacraft which work on several materials like paper, wood and fabric. Versacolor known as artnic in japan has sticky ink texture and works great on uncoated paper and embossing. Stazon and memento are good but they bleed on some types of paper... memento though works great with alcohol pens for coloring. Versamagic is one and only chalk based inks which works great on certain stamping projects as chalk inks have different texture once dried. brilliance is one of ink pad series with matte and pearlescent colors. they both are lovely to use but it needs a big of control how much inks and paper types.
