Translations from GOW- Ragnarok Steel Disk Case and World Map

So as the new Trailer for God of War- Ragnarok came out yesterday another video was released of the God of War Ragnarök - Collector's and Jötnar Editions during an Official Unboxing Video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1McSEGBcQ70&ab_channel=PlayStation

During the unboxing video a Steel Disc Case and Cloth World Map where shown again with Rune messages. Here is the translation I’ve done for you all. Hope these help =D

1st picture- Steel Disc Case: “Twilight beckons. The Bear and Wolf travel the relms Nine hoping to stop what seems inevitable. Their bond will be tested. Yet they must hold together for the good of all.”

2nd picture- Fabric World Map: “For Brok and Sindri and their ambitions to become the worlds greatest blacksmiths training in their dwarves home realm was only the beginning of their path. Sure they created wonders like Drauphr and the Cloak of Feathers, but true genius requires a broad education. They sought it out in all Nine realms as well as the space in between. The great World Tree Yggdrasil besting their previous creations with the hammer Mjolnir and the great Leviathan Axe. None save the Gods have been able to chart our strange geography but among mortals, few can boast the expertise enjoyed by the Huldra Brothers whose, ability to navigate and traverse the realms rivals even that of Odin All Father.”

I just beat the 2018 God of War and it is amazing. I only played the first game back in 2005 and a bit of the second game, but I know the basic plot of the original trilogy. Kratos as a character never really appealed to me and the plot is a fanfiction of Greek mythology but was fine. The draw of the games was combat, which was very fun and I preferred it to another series being released at the time, Devil May Cry.

I heard rave reviews about the new God of War and was very pleasantly surprised to see how much it deserves the accolades. I've stated many times much of my love is in the environments, and it fulfills much of my itche. It's very visually attractive, and the different realms all have a completely different feel that you can appreciate. I particularly loved walked around the central chamber with Yggdrasil, staring at the different etchings on the walls depicting the realms. (Did you know Midgard was missing from there, and the door you walk through I believe is Vanaheim?)

As I said I didn't play III so I can't attest to how gameplay developed, but combat is greatly surperior and very fun. I'm a barely-competent gamer but it was still great trying out all the different moves, and I screamed in delight once the blades of chaos were reintroduced. The studio kept puzzles as well so it didn't become a monotonous blur, and there were involved world-building sidequests with rewarding prizes.

But the real treat is Kratos and Artreus. You don't have to play the original trilogy for this, but I don't think you can fully appreciate Kratos without doing so. As I stated before, I didn't particularly care for him because he was really one-dimensional and his type of hyper-masculine personality didn't click with me. Here you can see how he runs up against a wall when dealing with his son. He is a person of his time with a terrible, daunting past, so he remains the laconic man's man, but he has to change in order to raise Atreus well and not lose him. Their interactions, as well as with Brok, Sindri, and Mimir, were a true and complete delight. The only weird part was Artreus' personality turn around upon discovering his heritage, but otherwise the flow of conversation and growth for the two of them makes this game totally worth playing. Five stars, 100% recommend.

Oh I was thinking about something and, for the people who were disappointed that Fenrir and Jormungandr weren’t Artreus and Angrboda’s biological kids. I’m pretty sure they’re going to combine Angrboda and Sigyn into one character (Sigyn means “friend of victory” so I think it will get the Frigg treatment and be made into a title, given how well that fits Angrboda) in the mythos, Loki and Sigyn have two sons. Very VERY little is known about then

And the other, like I said very little is known about them, so you have creative freedom to do anything. Like, perhaps, make him REALLY into snakes

hating but loving worshipping kratos.. he sees himself as despicable, a monster only made to kill and cause anguish. but you, you.. your above everything on this measly earth. you dont need to see the nastiness of this world, dont need to hear the horrors he has committed. he feels selfish, how he wants to keep you for himself, shield you from the dangers of the real world. but none of that matters every time he returns to you, weary and still holding up that gruff persona when you look back up at him after laying artreus to rest in his self made hidey-hole with a kiss on the head. you welcome kratos back into your arms each night, caressing his head and gently massaging his sore muscles. you ask him how his day was, that same sweet smile gracing your face. kratos responds with quiet murmurs, large hands rubbing up and down your sides. you dont mind that he physically binds you under him with his weight. hands subtly pick at your top, a unsaid question in the air.

ok god of war ragnarok is an incredible game but they didn't make kratos cry when artreus left or when he found his wife's painting so it entirely killed the mood. flat character 2/10
