Stede's progression of realising how bad things became is so quietly done through s2. Especially since the start point is him knowing Ed marooned his crew.

Plus, despite what everyone seems to think about him, Stede knows a lot more about Ed's past actions than they seem to realise. He knows about Ed's dad (something no one else knows), he knows about the burning ships and the toe-cutting and the skinning.

He just is... coming at it from the wrong angle at the start of the season.

"he's just letting off some steam" - it's still all just pirating activity, if a lot more intense than usual

"why would he [kill me]?" - Stede still not grasping how much he meant to Ed and how much damage his departure did

"I'm afraid your life is better without me" - and also still of the belief he will always and only be a last choice

"Ed pushed you? Why would he do that?" - the realisation that the stuff that happened to his crew was because of him

"I hurt Ed so much he pushed you off the ship" - not just realising it, but acknowledging it and recalibrating his perspective to see that not only did Ed actually genuinely care for him as much as he did for Ed, but that in leaving him behind, he's sent Ed on a downward spiral.

"I think I hurt him pretty bad" - again, acknowledging he did a wrong and determined to fix it

"I'm not ready to believe [that the time he spent with me is the best it's ever going to get for him] - the conviction that Ed can and does deserve to have some more of the happiness he craved when he just wanted "to be Edward"

his entire interrogation of the Break-up Boat crew, knowing full well that they're all lying but not able to get a clear answer

It speaks measures that he goes from thinking "Ed wouldn't want to kill me because he probably didn't even notice I was gone" to piecing together all the pieces of evidence and realising how truly shattered Ed is. It's a slow, steady realisation and in that confrontation with Izzy in the cabin, it has all crystalised into the knowledge that "he was going to watch the world burn or die trying".

He always knew what Ed was capable of, even if the crew thought he didn't or was being foolish and naive about it. "It feels pretty complicated. It feels bad", he admits when he knows how badly Ed hurt them, especially when he now believes it's all his fault.

"I let him down and I'm the cause of a lot of this", he says, so everything he does after that is in the name of trying to make things right. He does right by the crew, he negotiates with Zheng for their release, and even after he finds out they killed Ed, he still works to save them all, because he knows they don't deserve to die for saving themselves.

And then when Ed comes back, he agrees to let the crew decide Ed's fate - they voted him out (and I'm so curious about who voted how because Izzy's vote was the decider) but Stede said he would ask the crew if he could come back as well and clearly, they allowed it.

He spends so much of the rest of the season trying to undo all the damage he believed he had done, both with the crew and with Ed himself, even if he may or may not be very good at it. He tries and continues to try to make amends and I like him very much for it.

So let’s put it all together:

They only filmed for a few hours (between 2pm and 1am), which pretty much excludes major changes to the outside set-up, which brings us to:

We have snow. Tons of it, not just a tiny scattering

The architecture is Saracenic with onion domes

There’s a balcony that’s lit like a Christmas tree

Murphy wears his long coat he only wears in the Dreaming

The inside of the Royal Pavilion would in theory make for a very good banquet hall, BUT we are on a very, very tight schedule

If you’ve ever done any film acting, you know how painfully long even the shortest scenes are to set up and shoot. While I would love to think they did any of the banquet scenes (esp. the family dinner), I think that won’t have happened, simply because they were only there for less than 12 hours and seemed to have focused on the outside during a lot of that time. But you can certainly take a few inside shots and do the rest in a studio later.

The balcony is useable for both Season of Mists and Brief Lives. Again, the time question comes into play.

And why the snow? That hints very strongly at either The Hunt or A Game of You, although I think the latter makes less sense because of the seeming importance of the building (there is none in that scene in AGoY that remotely looks like it, plus Morpheus isn’t in that bit).

I am slightly confused at this point because there are so many options, so I’m thinking:

Outside for The Hunt because of the snow and the onion domes

Balcony potentially for either SoM or Brief Lives, although I’m leaning strongly towards the former at this stage (did anyone see Kirby or know where she is right now?)

If there’s any time left, they’re going to use the inside for some ambient shots for some banquet scene, but they’ll neither do the full family dinner nor any of the “key of hell” stuff because it would take far longer than a few hours to do all of the inside and outside shots. The schedule is simply too tight.

Nickel's sense of guilt and fear of change. [Character/II S3 Episode 14 Analysis, part 1/?]

Today, the longest episode of Invitational has dropped, and I have many thoughts of it as well. Might do more posts analyzing the events that ocurred as of now in canon, but I would like to talk about the heaviest part in the lore and how most people are not getting it completely (in my opinion), and that being: Nickel's current point of view of Balloon and his relationship with Suitcase and BB.

We all know that Nickel's actions hurted the Grand alliance, but what happened in the episode is that they showed how apparently, Nickel doesn't get exactly that things were completely fucked up.

In the episode, he mainly focuses on the good memories he had with BB and Suitcase, and doesn't even seem to hate Suitcase either, unlike what most people thought (me included to an extent, though I did see him being hurt mostly with their relationship and what happened in s2), but.

Nickel doesn't realize that he actually fucked up with them a lot, and that's the main issue.

Like, sure. He knows that stuff were messy at points but that's all he says. He mainly focuses on the good moments he had with them, maybe that's a product of him growing once he got eliminated and came to terms with himself that "well yeah there was a bit complicated shit but we still had fun together", but deep down he feels a sort of... guilt? Regarding Suitcase.

But even then, Balloon scolds him for trying to erase the times where Nickel made all of them feel bad. Hell! Even then Balloon recognizes that Nickel hurted Baseball deeply! And he says how Suitcase was the only one who had enough courage to stand up for her! Because hey! Nickel did use the same treatment that he used with Suitcase on Baseball! But the difference is that BaseBall kept making excuses for him!

The person who Nickel has been, alongside Baseball, "ignoring" of some sorts, has been Suitcase.

But here's the thing as well: Nickel doesn't know how to make things better again.

Nickel doesn't understand... feelings and complex emotions to put it shortly. He's afraid of change, and the way he just ignores the bad stuff that happened and tries to say that it's the only way that things can work, is... somewhat sad. Nickel doesn't understand a lot of stuff. He probably thinks that, at the end of the day, those were just little conflicts and that there was more good than bad.

But... that would mean he would also be running away from his consciousness over what Suitcase told him.

About how none of what they had was real.

He doesn't realize the damage he has done because hey. As much as you all like to think that Nickel didn't have his reasons to be a dick towards Balloon, he did. He actually did. He even mentions it in this episode, that if Balloon didn't try to manipulate everyone just as S1 started, maybe things would be different.

Nickel SAW and KNOWS Balloon's by his awful actions, and he wanted to protect BaseBall and Suitcase from him, since he thinks that Balloon CAN'T be trust-worthy after everything he did in S1.

That's why he was so aggressive as well towards Balloon. Yes, he cared for BaseBall, but he also cared for Suitcase deeply. The thing is that Suitcase was Balloon's friend, and Nickel can't bring himself to think that someone who he saw being such an awful person, could possibly be targetting someone who he cares about as well. So that's why he tried to push Balloon away for so long. He tried to keep his relationship with Suitcase and BB, he even says it in S2 when Suitcase confesses that she voted for him.

But of course, this is even more complicated. Both Nickel and Balloon fucked up, but Nickel fucked up for a longer time. Balloon was actually changing, and Nickel did only take the protective stance when this was happening. Which like, Nickel was right on that. He had his reasons to NOT trust Balloon. The problem is that he couldn't accept that Balloon was changing, and that he wasn't realizing that his actions were hurting both BB and Suitcase.

What I think that people don't get, or what hurts me the most, is the fact that Nickel is in denial. But it's merely the fact that when he hears Suitcase's voice, he doesn't get angry or mad, or even panics, no.

He's just... shocked.

What are you supposed to tell someone who went through hell, thanks to you, even if you tried to protect her from whom you thought was bad? What are you supposed to tell the friend who you tried to protect and instead hurted them in awful ways?

What are you even supposed to do in that situation?

It's not only that, but the fact that he didn't even think twice when walking towards her, didn't even question if she was truly Suitcase. Like, he immediately went on and tried to explain himself to her-

He completely forgot about everything because he wanted to talk to her and, I do think that he feels guilty for what he did, but he can't put it to words/can't understand it completely after all- but his first instict after seeing Suitcase is to talk to her about it.

He wants to explain himself to her- maybe even apologize, but he doesn't know how.

The thing is that Nickel is smart. With logical stuff, not feelings, according to Adam himself. And that fucks it all up for him.

Nickel can't handle change.

Suitcase can understand change.

Balloon is always changing.

And BaseBall can't keep up with it.

And that shows it here.

Nickel is a complicated character. Guilt is eating him constantly but he lacks emotional intelligence. He can accept that stuff went wrong, but seem doesn't understand what or why they did go wrong.

He regrets what he did to Suitcase most likely judging from his behaviour the mere second he saw her, but he can't tell why exactly. Same thing as Nickel probably realizing that he keeps on messing up the more he clings into that mentality. He tries to move on from the past, but he can't. He even says it. There's no way to make things feel better as of now, so that's why he pretends.

But there is a way.

He just... needs to talk it out with Suitcase and Balloon.

Hey lovelies. Do you ever do/say something and then not long after you start feeling massively anxious about whether or not you should have done it? I know I do.

This is especially hard on the internet now a days because tone and sarcasm is so difficult to express and understand.

Just know that it's okay to feel anxious. When we don't get feedback at all (which happens a lot on the internet), or the feedback we expect, our brains can make us feel like something's worse than it might be. If you can help it, don't borrow that anxiety before you know it's an issue (I know it's hard, believe me).

Remember to take a deep breathe, drink some water, and remember even if it didn't turn out the way you expected, you're allowed to make mistakes, and you're allowed to have opinions on things. Just be sure to respect others' opinions and safe space as well.

Reasons why Axel is best girl

Her name and design is absolute peak

This was a promo photo. The combat boots, the camo pants, the asymmetrical piercings, the camo paint and absolute feral energy in this photo.

There's a reason why she had so much hype before we even knew her personality. She exudes absolute girlboss energy and leaks with potential.

Her voice is incredible

Something about her dialect tickles my brain. Just listen to her speak especially in S2 E3 and you'll see what I mean. Her VA does an incredible job.

She's incredibly compassionate believe it or not

Her boot episode in S1 starts with her getting breakfast in the woods. She could have made food for just herself but took the time to find and cook food for the rest of her team.

S2 E2 consists of her helping her struggling teammates several times. Zee when he's taken too many hits and Damien after going through the 4 point tube.

You may think she does it out of necessity, but anybody could have gone and saved Damien, Priya especially. She's quick to inform them he needs medical attention.

She even admits that despite winning she doesn't approve of what Millie did. This is coming from the same girl that kicked a teammate overboard in the season prior. She genuinely cares about her team.

She's not very fond of Ripper, yet when she accidentally punches him in the face, she is quick to help him up and fix his broken nose. Her voice is incredibly soft as she helps him as well.

The way she handles Ripper's initial confession really sticks out to me. She doesn't lash out or mock him for having a crush, she calmly admits to being uncomfortable and gently tells him she doesn't feels the same.

She even apologizes. There's no need to apologize for not returning romantic feelings for someone. They're not entitled to your love. But she apologizes anyways despite Ripper never asking for one, because she knows that she hurt him and wanted to reject him as nicely and possible.

She recognizes Rippers development and sees how he's willing to better himself for her. He took the time to learn one of her hobbies for her and she realizes and truly appreciates that. She rewards his efforts by kissing him.

She loves Ripper for who he is despite his imperfections. She finds his stupidity to be attractive, and he's a bit insecure when it comes to impressing her, so she's quick to reassure him that she does in fact love him after insulting him and knocking him off their canoe.

There's these little blink and you'll miss it moments in the finale where when Ripper is getting hurt she's not too pleased and is there to comfort him.

Her confidence is unmatched

From the very beginning she's very sure of herself and her abilities. Her first line is her boasting about her survival abilities and how she's not afraid and how people should fear her instead.

She doesn't doubt her decisions. She kicks Ripper overboard in S1 and doesn't ever regret it, not even after she's been voted off because of it.

In S2 E3 she does a flip over a stump just because she can. Her only solo confessional is her bragging about how she was born for this challenge. She's fully confident in her skills and for good reason.

S2 E4 has a lot of these moments where she's so sure of herself not as a survivalist but also as a person. She was voted "most likely to make you regret stuff" in survival camp. She's not ashamed of that fact, she sounds almost proud.

When her love of poetry is revealed, she's not embarrassed, she sounds happy to be able to reveal that fact about herself. She knows that it's an interest not expected of someone like her, and she doesn't care.

She kisses a man on live TV despite being incredibly embarrassed and near uncomfortable with being put on the spot.

She doesn't change herself for Ripper. She is so sure of herself and she knows Ripper loves her for who she is. She's not embarrassed to show her love for him, and she's not afraid to still be her authentic self.

She takes bullshit from no one

When she stops Ripper from wasting his time and energy in the beginning, he lashes out. How does she respond? She growls at him. She's not gonna let some guy yell at her when she's trying to help.

Ripper refuses to have her lead the team despite majority ruling for her to be captain, so what does she do? She kicks him overboard for mutiny and refusing to cooperate.

Ripper taunts her for getting booted by waving his marshmallow in her face. She's already pissed, so she bites his hand and eats his own marshmallow straight from his hand. What a queen.

Ripper calls her and her team nerds in S2 E2 and she immediately snaps at him and intimidates him for his disrespect.

S2 E3 is when she and Ripper get stuck butt to butt, and it does slow her down a lot, but she ends up being in the pack getting carried by Caleb regardless. She's not really responsible for her teams loss. So when Chef puts her on the list of people on the chopping block, she immediately shuts him down because of how stupid that is.

Her split second Yuri moment with Emma consists of her intimidating her not to mess up the challenge. Emma does mess up, Axel falls, and Axel votes her off.

Her team loses for the 3rd time in a row by E5 and of course Chris relishes in their failures and rubs it in their faces. Axel is a blunt and honest person, but here she resorts to sarcasm because that's how done she is with his shit.

She's literally about to be eaten by a shark and she just turns and yells at it to back off, icon.

Look, I personally lose nothing if Lokius doesn’t become explicit canon. And if that were to become the case, I’d also have no regrets for saying for years that that would happen in the show by the end ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’ve said it before, but by now it would be Disney/Marvel’s loss, NOT mine. Whoever wasted or limited the potential would be the idiot, not me.

I’m simply never gonna feel crazy for noticing what’s happening in a story or silly for daring to hope it’ll be brought to fully satisfying narrative completion. That's just a me thing. Maybe this is because at heart I’m stubborn! But I’d like to think I’m not unreasonable. I can’t control whether writing stays consistent or censorship is overcome... But I just do my best to construct solid arguments, and as long as those arguments remain solid, I stand by them :)

I know not everyone would say the same, or they consider this to be "hope" or "optimism," but I see it as logic based in noticing what the text of a show/story is doing. And personally I also consider blatantly evident subtext to be "canon enough," so if we get my personal minimum, my happiness may still outweigh any potential disappointment for me.

However. Here's what I've come here to say today, in reaction to things I've seen floating around in the fandom:

While I do understand on some level why people worry that Lokius won’t be more explicitly canonically romantic because it could be censored by Disney.... At this point, I don’t understand how people can think Loki/Sylvie will still happen.

As of right now, there’s no way to argue for that in my opinion. (I'd like to see someone try.)

The show has set up a fun but very simple situation from basically the start:

They made romantic love a point of relevance in the show’s story. More specifically, they pointed out Loki's desire for a "real" romantic love, and had him learn the lesson that he doesn't deserve to be alone. They didn't HAVE to do all of those things and tie them together. They CHOSE to make romantic love relevant – and they have actively continued to choose to do that, to the point of including a mirrored dark love triangle in s2 ep3. That narrative thread simply has to be fulfilled.

So if they deliberately established that Loki wants and needs a “real” love, and his relationship with Sylvie was referred to as "fiction" so she cannot be a real love for him.... Who does it have to be?

Obviously it has to be Mobius. And of course, the whole show points to Lokius also, for countless more reasons than just this simple breakdown. But pointing this element out is the simplest argument one can make.

So either...

1. They take Lokius to full narrative completion with explicit canon, as they should and as I expect them to,

or

2. Loki's desire for a real love is left unfulfilled, open-ended, and/or made clear through subtext that it's Mobius.

Those are the options, if you ask me!

This is aside from how Lokius’ love story is now even at the core of the show’s themes and plot, which is an insanely strong vote in favor for their future canonicity.

But for the purposes of this post, I’m talking about whether we'll get explicit romance specifically, like a love confession or a kiss – and I do actually genuinely think we'll get both of those things. I'm not trying to force you to agree with me, but just to be clear, that's where I'm at with it and have been since 2021 lol.

So in regards to worrying about Loki/Sylvie...

They were never really a romance (yes, even in season 1) and they sure as hell aren't now. I can’t imagine they'll become one even IF Lokius is left subtextual.

So what actually remains to be seen is if the writers got to go all the way with Lokius, or if that central queer love story was censored on some level in the end.

My hot take is no one should be ~worrying~ about Sylki at this stage of the game. Free yourselves, people.

If the story starts abruptly going in a Sylki direction, even with only 3 episodes left, I will certainly be the first to say so lol. But I simply sincerely, truly doubt that'll happen.

(Hot take in the footer: this is not the post to get into this at length, but in case this comes up… In this house we do not use the word "queerbaiting." It is a useless, nearly-meaningless, insufferable term that devalues the legitimacy of subtext and queercoding more often than not; it's rooted in the idea that media must hit arbitrary and inconsistent checklists often set with cishet approval in mind; and it perpetuates a focus on the false and harmful myth that many creators are "cowards" instead of leaving room for nuance and the fact that industry censorship still exists.)

istg if walkie talkie ends up NOT being taco ill be so damn surprised. like if its not taco it’ll end up being some random new antagonist we’ve never even met before (or cobs, which i doubt; i don’t think it’s cobs himself, but i do believe whoever it is could very well be working for him)

itd be weird to introduce a whole new character in the final episode, itd make more sense to play off a character who’s been in the show the entire time and has reason to play the role of antagonist.

season 2 proved taco knows how meeple products work/how to override their functions for her advantage. also she’s proven to be a great manipulator, so it’d make sense how she’d be able to collect a whole gang of people who don’t even necessarily hate mephone all that much, and turn them against him (sprinkles and dr fizz probably being the best examples of this; you even see dr fizz question WT’s actions during the whole confrontation near the end of iii18). It’d also explain why Ballpoint Pen isnt part of the Unvitationals; tbh he seems way too smart to be manipulated, no offense everyone else, even though he does seem to have a similar level of reason to hate mephone as the other Unvitationals.

so basically, vote to join III. Understandable as to why Lightbulb, Knife, and Suitcase can’t join the cast, they’re still part of s2, but why Taco? Her arc with Mic has basically ended, I highly doubt they’re going to interact anymore because Taco has shown no real interest in Mic on an emotional level, she just wanted to use her for her own gain; and now that Mic is no longer in the game, she probably sees her as ‘useless’ to her. no chance in manipulating any of the remaining cast, so why not teleport away… and try to manipulate someone else….?

(alsoc if they knew Taco wouldn’t be allowed to join, why add her to the poll at all? If Taco is WT it’d give it away to outright say she was joining the iii cast when she clearly isn’t a contestant………. maybe they’re keeping her presence a secret…….hmmmmmmmm)

I honestly think that either A. Taco’s motivation for manipulating Mic could’ve gone way beyond simply wanting to win. Or B., maybe that could be her only motivation. Which is why if WT is Taco it would explain why she’s so keen on mentioning to the remaining competitors that there is no prize. WT has proven to have loads of knowledge about ii, knowledge that probably only a former contestant could have, and there’s really only one former contestant I can think of who’d have such a grudge against mephone/the show in general.

also season 1 kinda proves taco is a good actor as well, so putting on a new facade as WT probably wouldnt be hard for her. WT could very well be her using a voice changer, but do we really doubt that she could pull off an american accent lmao.

Emma to you might simply be just a girl who talks about Chase but to me she's an insecure golden retriever girl who's been kicked down,there's a general reason for her hatred of chase, he's an ego maniac who refuses to apologise for his faults, he literally got her mother permanently disabled to the point where she doesn't even remember her own daughters name and calls her by something else. He wants her to be named after him. He's before shown the ability to known when he's done wrong when it's his friend's, but not Emma.

Emma as a character is latched to him because victims of abuse don't simply "get over their abusers" , she's simply hoping she's still cared about, she requires love,she wants to hope the guy she likes still loves her... because everything he's done throughout their relationship indicates he just doesn't care... and honeslty I don't think he's ever cared about her specifically. Besides Emma is fun on her own,she's silly, and acts honestly pretty strangely (/pos), her immediately jumping up and making a scene over not being voted off first is fun, she dances, her friendship with Bowie fun fact is good because he's a person she bounces off of! The fact that they can get along, showing off that she is genuinely sweet... Chase is just ruining a lot of her relationships. Aw man mid writing this I realize how genius that is, that all her relationships never flourish because her abuser ends up constantly either "apologising" or because he's around.

Shes also really good at challenges! She wins and does well at a lot of the challenges, to the point where priya considered her a good ally, picked her over caleb (god back when s2 was good), she has a good Social game, while she's not perfect, she's good at bouncing around and getting people to join her side, she manages to manipulate chases ego so that he'd fail the challenge, she's clever she's very clearly clever, as well as the notification buzz thing in S1, she thinks of it herself however she's probabaly attributing it to chase because she doesn't want to credit herself.

Theres a lot to love about Emma, her silliness and all. I think you hate abuse victims Emmater because of the fact that you can't even SEE Emma as one. This post explains it. You don't see Chase as an abused because he's "too stupid" and "not maliciously hurting her" JESUS CHRIST SHUT UP!!! He doesn't have to be meticulously fucking plan her downfall to not be abusing her??? The only times Emma hurts Chase is when he's purposely trying to win her over because he thinks he's hot shit, because he's making her god damn uncomfortable. He's hurt her in so many ways, got her mother permanently disabled, cut the brakes off her car almost KILLING HER-- Didn't bother getting a proper kidney plant for her father and wanted to fucking RENAME HER TO CHASE'S GIRLFRIEND. but because he's too stupid I guess it doesn't count.. right? I'm so sick and tired-- he still abused her who cares if he's too stupid that's not how that works being stupid doesn't give you a right to almost accidentally get someone killed ::/

so i deleted my poll & here's why bc it is both. sad, strange, and a little hilarious. for TLDR, skip all the way to the end

this is what it was gearing towards as of this afternoon & this is why it got weird.

for clarification, the poll was meant to investigate, because i was curious, how many people i had potentially influenced in my writing(s) about callum analysis wise. i actually expected option 2 to be the most common (aka that people already saw him that way) since that's what i've found in my circles; most of the other rayllum writers and shippers i've spoken to reached those conclusions themselves after S2 or S3, if not earlier. so option 1 being the most popular was the first big surprise, as was as many people picking "want to see the results"

here's where things go from surprising to weird. earlier this afternoon, the poll was sitting around 120-ish people and had been in that vein for most of the week since it was published, climbing maybe a few votes every day after the initial boom in a variety of the categories the first like day and a half.

then, steadily, over the course of 5-10 minutes, anywhere from 5 to 15 fresh votes flooded in... all to the same category of "nah i don't see him that way." which wasn't That strange, except

the fandom troll, who is notoriously obnoxiously loud about Not liking this interpretation of callum, also has a tendency of making sock blogs and sending anonymous asks to bait you over and over again, no matter how many times you block them. for Years.

then the number continued to steadily climb solely in that singular category, doubling and then tripling. now, i'm not going to say there couldn't be *check statistics* 50 people who don't see callum as being willing to sacrifice the world for his loved ones/help aaravos if rayla or ezran's lines were quit literally being held at knifepoint, But

When the poll started, I acknowledged the bias the poll would likely be prone to, as my followers - by virtue of following me and seeing and presumably agreeing with what I post - would probably skew in favour of the interpretation, and this was reflected in 6/7 days of the poll's backing, with 60-78% (roughly 70-80 people) of participants leaning towards a shared interpretation. "Nah I don't see him that way" also rose steadily in terms of votes throughout the week day by day, but never cleared more than 8-10 individual people (you're troopers, I respect you, and I hope having the "snake boi Callum" tag makes it easier for you to blacklist accordingly so that you can enjoy your fandom experience)

The Snake Boi Callum interpretation is popular enough in fandom that we actually had a fandom event for it a few months back, plenty of people participated who I felt I wasn't familiar with as well as people I knew I would, and the pieces of art/fic/playlists regularly got 50-150 notes. If there are 50+ people who disagree with said interpretation, they are, generally speaking, not a group who's often actually making things for the fandom at large in terms of fic, fanart, other forms of creation, and not a ton of meta weekly or monthly about the topic and/or outside of that general wheelhouse, either. The 'pro' side is conversely a lot more active; most of the people who have written fic about said topic(s) aren't even me, but other cool lovely talented individuals over the past 3-ish years

The initial wave of votes happened when I posted the poll in the "snake boi Callum," "Rayllum," "tdp," and "the dragon prince" tags to reach a broader audience beyond my more immediate active follower range (as like, 90% of my followers are lurkers, which - respect). This is when it would've made sense if there was going to be an uptick in "nah I don't see him that way" to build

Instead, it happened 6 days into the poll when it was already decently buried by tags, I had recently self-reblogged it back into my accordingly biased circles, and rather than having a general variety, only a singular category went up by close to 40 people in like 3 hours. I tend to gain anywhere from 6-10 followers a week (for example, this week was 6) so that also does not account for the massive leap in a very short amount of time

Therefore, keeping to roughly 125 votes for posterity, and when removing the originally 30-ish or so people who voted for "see results" (significantly less than the first category, but more than the second by a decent margin) as well as the real 10 votes for "nah, I don't see him that way," approximately 85 people voted explicitly in favour of Snake Boi Callum / one of the first two options in general, with my meta being cited as the biggest influence. This is also with me rounding up the numbers of the other categories to likely more than they were, but I want to account for the potential error of my memory, as I wasn't keeping track of where things were super specifically before it started to smell like meddling.

Again, it's not that there couldn't be 50 people with that opinion, it's just that 40 of them, Realistically, did not suddenly come out of the woodwork in the span of 1-2 hours to consecutively vote in only one (1) category 6 days after that would've actually, marginally, made sense in terms of tagging / seeing it in the main tags.

If you're wondering why I presented all my ~ evidence ~ it's because if not, I'd probably be labelled as a liar and/or dismissed (it's happened before, unfortunately) and honestly, it ended up being a little funny to dig into how presumably nuts this got.

TLDR;

Anyway if you ever feel like you're deeply insecure and worried that you're idiotically clout chasing, remember you will never be as Embarrassing as the guy who made close to 39 sock blogs in one afternoon to try and 'one up' someone over an opinion they have regarding a children's tv show protagonist who's believed biggest flaw is that he Loves His Friends.

“austerlitz” is one of my favorite episodes because the entire concept of it is basically logan using his children for the company’s profit and calling it all a game and i think it shows the family dynamic so well. but i also specifically love it for showing kendall and roman’s relationship in the way it did. it’s so interesting to see them estranged from one another after the vote of no confidence and then to see the way they interact in this episode despite their falling out.

roman going to get kendall because he’s using again and is not doing well is just another one of those things you can put on the pile of “roman genuinely loving, caring for and helping his family members despite what’s been said and done between them before”. but his body language when he’s telling logan about it (hunched shoulders, looking down, not sure what to do with his hands) is exactly the body language he has around logan when he’s insecure, uncomfortable or scared around him. it’s as if he knows he’s showing weakness in front of logan again by putting aside his and kendall’s differences and choosing to go help him. and then he waits for logan’s approval, even though he would have gone no matter what logan said, which is why he was so nervous about telling him. it was a statement, not a question. he was going to get kendall no matter how logan felt about it because it’s what he felt he needed to do.

this episode also gave us some very brief but kinda wholesome moments between them that can’t go unmentioned. kendall saying “he’s ok” in the midst of what’s going on between them is so much bigger than it sounds. it’s basically like he just told him “you’re my brother and i do love you despite everything” or “thank you for doing this despite what’s going on, it says a lot”. at least that’s how i see it. and the little smile roman gives kendall as he sings in the car that can easily be overlooked but is so special to me.<3

then there’s roman’s face when they get back to connor’s and kendall is acting extremely umm.. not sober i guess… and this stuck out to me a lot because kendall’s behavior in that scene is kinda comedic to most people watching the show but my feelings about that changed after willa said “it’s ok, my aunt is an addict” and after seeing roman’s face. they don’t find it funny. they see it for what it is. kendall is an addict and it’s not funny, it’s sad. roman genuinely looks sad for kendall. kendall, who is putting on a show and smiling and laughing, but roman sees his brother who is unwell and using again and he feels sad for him. he takes the situation seriously and it’s sad to see him watch his older brother go through addiction and see his reaction to just observing what kendall is doing to himself.

another thing worth noting is that roman did kinda try to stop logan from attacking kendall. it may not be the kind of stoic defence that kendall showed after logan hit roman in s2 but despite how uncomfortable and unsure roman looks, he did try to signal that it’s not ok to physically attack kendall. and it’s another gesture that is easily overlooked.

Good Omens fans! Here is a (super unofficial) checklist of ways to put pressure on the studios to renew Good Omens for a season 3 and (hopefully) to help convince them come back to the table for ending strikes asap. Note: US streaming referenced, but replace Amazon w your *official* local streaming if relevant.

Watch Season 2 ALL the way through (multiple times if possible) ESPECIALLY within the next week and a half. Keep it playing in the background (muted should be fine, but if you’re unsure, mute it on your device-side instead of in the app). Play it on multiple devices and on multiple accounts. Do NOT pirate it if at ALL possible in this period of time. Every view counts!

If you have friends who have Amazon Prime, ask them to stream it all the way through (in the next week and a half!), too. If they haven’t seen Season 1, watching S1 helps too! They don’t have to even actually watch it, just let it play through. Call in those outstanding favors! Offer to help them out w something else later in exchange.

If you have friends who have *never* had Amazon Prime, have them sign up for the free trial and have the FIRST thing they stream be both Season 1-2 of Good Omens. New viewers like this are worth extra in Prime’s eyes bc they see them as a potential new source of income! Now is the time to help your technologically challenged aunt set up streaming for the first time!

If you want merch, buy official merch! Idk how much this impacts their decisions, but it can’t hurt to show them there’s demand for it.

Make an IMDb account (you can link w gmail or other accounts so there’s no new password to remember) and rate the show! Make sure you verify your account (there are simple instructions online), rate Good Omens S1 and S2 as a whole *and* rate each of the episodes individually! If possible, leave a glowingly positive review! Also, go through and rate/review a handful of other things so it doesn’t look like you ONLY did it for this one show (might I suggest OFMD and other positive queer media?). If you can’t leave a review of your own, skim through the most recent reviews left by other people and up-vote the positive ones/down-vote the negative ones (‘this review was/was not helpful’).

A disclaimer about one of the Round 3 options: So Maggie effed up, lmao. When you have an odd number of choices for a bracket, you're supposed to give the highest ranking seeds a bye-round, which I did for the highest ranking seed! 😭 However, you're also supposed to take out as many as you need to get the first round to the closest power of two, which I didn't realize. Since Abbott has 35 episodes, for instance, the closest power of 2 would be 32, which means that three episodes needed to have a bye-week for the tournament to shake out perfectly. So, awhile back, you mentioned that for your miraculous rewrite, you were considering turning some of the akumas into their villains, so out of curiosity which akumas do you think could works as their own villains?

Teeeechnically spoilers, though the fic isn't coming that soon and I guess this wouldn't really give away too many details and not everything is for sure...

Honestly, most of them, so far, are a handful of the season 1 akumas. I can't think of any akumas from s2 that stood out to me as potential villains to stand on their own, and I stopped watching around s3 so any akumas post s2 I either don't remember or just haven't seen.

Horrificator I'd vote to be a mythical creature, as in hindsight, it's kinda icky that the plus size girl is the only one with a monstrous akuma out of all girls (that I know of).

So Horrificator instead may work better to be her own thing, and be an intro to other types of magic out there than just the Miraculous.

Darkblade I feel could've been his own thing, could've tied him to the Arthurian legends (maybe he has a corrupted Excalibur), or could've been tied to the Catacombs, which I don't think Miraculous has covered yet, and he could've had a magical sword that animates suits of armor. And if Chloe was to have an arc, could work off him targeting her family as he seeks to be the mayor.

Mime I could see possibility in being his own villain, the ability to mime could be it's own sort of magic and could be fun; but I do also think he was one of the better akumas in s1, having a good balance of being powerful but having limits, and a good set up for him becoming one. So he could go either way.

Pharaoh I'd lean being his own villain. Rewatching it recently, he was a very awkward akuma as he wasn't working off Jalil himself, he was like he was the actual pharaoh revived, talking about how he clashed with a Ladybug hero 5000 years ago and I'm like...

Does this mean the Butterfly also has the power of letting old souls possess people in the present? Or is Jalil just LARPing as an akuma? Idk. It was just really awkward so he's be an akuma I'd vote to just go ahead and be his own thing. And it can work off classic mummies being enemies.

The last one off the top of my head is Volpina. I'm of the belief that Lila either should've come to Paris already having the Fox, or she did actually buy the Fox Miraculous from the jewelry store. This also goes in hand that I don't think Fu should've had 16-17 Miraculous with him (depending if you think he does have the Rabbit or not as that seems kinda up in the air). It actually makes much more sense that he lost more than just 2 or 3 given the chaos, and it better works off him sending out the very two Gabriel wanted if Fu had more limited options on what he could do.

This also could've had Volpina nicely reveal to the heroes that there are more Miraculous out there than the initial 3 they knew about. This also would've made Lila work more naturally as a threat if she had a Miraculous and was playing hero, competing with the other heroes for glory, and coming to side with Gabriel later. A lot better than her spending s2 sulking in her room.

There could be others, but off the top of my head, these are the major ones.
