Fashion designer Ása Bríet Brattaberg, born in 1996, half Icelandic, half Faroese.
"I graduated as a dressmaker from the technical college of Reykjavik in 2016 going straight to the Reykjavík school of visual arts, for my foundation diploma course in textiles, deepening my knowledge in my chosen profession.
I graduated from BA womenswear from Central Saint Martins in 2023.
I am currently doing my masters in fashion design with knitwear at Institut Français de la mode."
"Haute couture fascinates me, with its strict rules and rich history. the deep respect for the garments and how they are simply seen as high art. to me clothes are items of art, clothes can perform, can be a performance and it is simply up to us how we choose to stage that performance each day in our own lives."
Ása Bríet Brattaberg says:
"I am very honoured for receiving the 2023 YourNOVA ‘People’s Choice’ Award for my BA graduate collection from Central Saint Martins 'Tales Told in Tangles'
Thank you all for your support."
