Yeah I did take quite a significant step back from fandom after moving to London but getting into The Rookie helped me find my way back which has been nice! (If not slightly stressful the past week lol)

I actually totally forgot to honour the occasion but on the 9th it was 4 years since the first quiz! Honestly doing the b99 quizzes over 2020-2021 is probably the thing I’m proudest of in the fandom. It is always nice to hear that everyone else really enjoyed them as well!

Seeing all the B99 gifs on your page makes me want to rewatch the show again. It’s one of my comfort shows. I love how it’s an ensemble where every pairing/grouping of characters has really well-defined and meaningful relationships. Plus it’s proof to all tv writers/showrunners that even after the main ship gets together they can still remain fun/interesting without changing their personalities or needlessly breaking them up for drama (looking at you Rookie rn).

It’s been so fun doing the rewatch! I have never watched the show start to end so I’m having a blast. It’s giving me warm and fuzzy feelings 🥹🫶🏼 And I totally agree - the chemistry of the cast means that every pairing and dynamic just works so well.

Lol Brooklyn 99 set me up for failure when it comes to relationships hahaha. I was treated so well with no random break-ups that 6x06 genuinely floored me 😞 if this had happened to 2014 Hannah (New Girl era) I would have reacted much worse to be fair, I’ve chosen optimism as a means to tackle these unfortunate events!

You’re so right! I find that, even with finales that I love, a lot of times comedy finales sometimes kind of... forget to be funny. Usually because they are jam packed with so much sentimentality and even drama for some reason. Which can be good depending on the show but definitely not b99’s style. Even though there are many sad moments since we’re saying goodbye, it’s not actually goodbye. It’s a celebration of a show we all love that takes place in this fictional, absurder but kinder world. Because these characters aren’t actually gonna leave each other’s lives, and they won’t leave ours either. Like Stephanie said, the universe they live in will exist forever.

Spot on Anon. I have to say the same. I’ve noticed that often they’re trying to just overwhelm us with nostalgia and feels that they just leave the funny out. Whereas there was hardly a moment last night where I wasn’t laughing. They brought their A Game for the finale! And yes there were those moments of sadness but they kept them brief and for the most part to the end.

It was such a love letter to the show. Every reference, every little Easter Egg. They wrote a hour celebration and invited us all along for the ride. Could not have asked for a better finale.

And yes!! This universe lives on forever. And I am expecting all of our talented fanfic writers to keep AO3 alive 👀

Ah surrounding the Yippie Kayak kiss? Yes! Basically from what I can recollect, everyone was super annoyed that Jake and Amy hadn't kissed since the first couple of episodes of Season 1 (yes believe it or not kissgate was not a season 6 only thing). When they kissed in Yippie Kayak everyone lost their goddamn minds. I remember I had dreamt they would kiss in the episode, It was very much on our minds.
