Hello Susiecarter! Gosh I love your work so MUCH, but I mostly lurk on AO3. Your characterization and your pacing fit so well together, and I'm always delighted to re-read your stories -- I feel like I notice something new and wonderful every time.

Would you be willing to talk a little bit about the bodyswap superbat AU you've been thinking about? I'm wildly curious!

Hi! :D And dang, thank you so much—I'm so glad you've enjoyed my fic ;-; and rest assured I appreciate everybody who reads my stuff even if they leave no sign of their presence but an increase in my hit count. ♥♥♥! AND it means the world to me to hear my characterization AND pacing hit the mark for you; the characters are always the thing I am the most invested in, no matter the fandom, and trying to get them right is really important to me (\o/!!!!) and pacing is probably one of my biggest weaknesses :') SO it's really rewarding to hear the work I've put into not sucking at it is paying off, haha. :D And of course I'm thrilled my stories hold up to rereading for you, too!

AND I could talk about the bodyswap AU all day long, but I will try be restrained here. :'D I started planning the bodyswap AU as a secret Santa gift like a zillion years ago, and the more I worked on the outline, the more obvious it became that this was probably going to turn into a longfic, and not one I was going to have time to finish by the deadline for the secret Santa. SO I set all my notes aside and started something shorter that I could actually finish—but I still REALLY want to write the bodyswap story, and also the sequel (yes, in my head it has a sequel even though I haven't actually written it! This is how the big scary list of things I want to write keeps getting longer instead of shorter :'D).

The basic concept for it was that starting in BvS somewhere, Bruce and Clark would bodyswap—Clark would find himself in some stranger's body, with no powers, experiencing genuine hunger/thirst/fatigue/pain for practically the first time in his life, but also horribly aware that this probably means some stranger is in his body ... and Bruce would find himself in THE ALIEN'S BODY, in charge of all the powers that terrify him on such a fundamental level, and presumably still determined to kill that body, even if that's going to mean dying himself, in a much more direct way than he was in canon. :') OH BRUCE.

Naturally, in my hands, this is yet another BvS fix-it AU, ultimately! But anon, I am so SO enamored of everything about it—Alfred rapidly sussing out that something is DEFINITELY wrong with "Bruce"! Bruce learning exactly how much control Clark needs to have of himself every second of every day, AND because he's Bruce, doing his best to conceal the swap = finding out as much as he can about Clark Kent, the way he didn't do in BvS! Living Clark's life—going to the Planet offices, meeting Lois and seeing how she responds to Clark, picking up the phone and having it be Ma Kent checking in on her son ... :D :D :D :D :D

And of course Clark would have a pretty good idea where to find his own body, and no reason he knows of not to go looking for it; he'd have no idea Bruce has been trying to figure out how to kill him! He'd be worried about this poor random civilian guy in his body! Weirdest angle on identity porn ever: Bruce having to Bruce Wayne in Clark's body, trying to make sure Clark keeps thinking of him as a harmless, ordinary person who just wants this to get fixed. :'D And Bruce getting to be in Superman's body—getting the opportunity to save people so much more quickly, so much more thoroughly, with the strength and the speed and the invulnerability, not having to approximate a pathetic percentage of it with effort and armor ... he'd be afraid of himself with Clark's powers, but I think he would also love it a little bit, anon, and I have so many feelings about that! ;-;

And Clark! Clark, getting to really honestly just be human for a while! Getting to experience directly what it's like, getting to not have to manage his supersenses all the time, getting to stub a toe and scrape a knuckle and burn his fingertips a little by accident. :'D Experiencing all the little aches and pains of everything Bruce has put his body through—and eventually, of course, taking Bruce's shirt off, and finding all the scars under there ... :D :D :D :D :D

ANYWAY, yeah, it's going to be identity reveals all around eventually, plus or minus some parts of the plot of BvS; I'm going to handwave the bodyswapping with, you know, Lex Luthor screwing around with Kryptonian technology after getting access to the ship :'D—I usually don't manage to get much farther than the end of BvS in any one longfic, and I intend for the end of the bodyswap story to be Bruce using Clark's body to kill Doomsday, with Clark using the tech at the last second to get him out of there, in such a way that the sequel is going to be a bodysharing story. :D

So, yeah, I hope that sounds like something you'd be interested in reading, anon—and if it doesn't, rest assured that as with so many of my other favorite tropes, I probably will not stop at just one bodyswap fic. :'D ♥!

Plans? I find that to be quite a strong word. It’s hard to say what my ‘plans’ are, because that isn’t up to me. I have wants, dreams, ambitions, and hopes, but I refuse to solidify anything by being presumptuous enough to say I have plans. 

I hope to graduate from here claimed, and ready to take on whatever my Dom/me has in store for me. I hope to have used my time here wisely enough to be as polished and knowledgeable as possible, for the benefit of my Dominant. Of course some day I would cherish the opportunity to have a family and a home to care for as well, but again that really is up to my Dominant. Ultimately, I will respect the plans made for me, when that time comes.

i’m a big fan of your writing! i was wondering, you’ve included superbat wedding (or i guess future superbat wedding) in some fics, do you have any headcanons about the logistics of that? as in are they married publicly, legally, etc, or is it a secret relationship sort of situation bc it would be too complicated to work with their covers?

AND rest assured that I have about eighty-four different headcanons about Bruce and Clark getting married, haha, and one day I might even write a few of them:

Married publicly? YES PLEASE—there's nothing I don't love about the idea of Bruce Wayne officially shacking up with Clark Kent, the last person ANYONE would have believed was capable of making an honest man out of that guy, and against all odds, they are VISIBLY happy together??? :'D I am so enamored of the idea that Clark, genuinely secure in his life and his relationships, would actually kind of have a blast Clark-Kenting his way around in Bruce Wayne's public orbit, being earnest and kind and firmly "oblivious" to any high-society shade getting thrown his way; and if he got to do it with Clark, got to be a version of himself who was allowed to be in love with Clark and let everybody know it ... honestly, I think Bruce would enjoy that also, it would be so much less like work and so much more like fun, he'd get to say awful soppy things he definitely actually means and watch Clark laugh and flush and mock him gently for it, he'd get to spend lots and lots of time with Clark in public and there wouldn't have to be any kind of cover for it, it would be great. :D

I would also love to write variations on this: Bruce Wayne is publicly married to Superman—it surprises no one that Bruce would ask, but why the hell did Superman say yes? Is Wayne really that good in the sack? (Superman, in an interview: He's a good person, and you should all be ashamed of yourselves for saying so many unkind things about him >:( Bruce, later: STOP IT YOU'RE RUINING MY BAD REPUTATION) :DDDDD! Clark Kent's married to Batman, so he can wander around in Gotham at night interviewing people and NO ONE fucks with him? (Well, and then somebody does, right, hoping they can give the Bat orders if they've got his husband held at gunpoint ... except within three seconds somehow the gun's in the husband's hand??? When did he even move???) :DDDDD!

Married secretly? YES PLEASE—I would love this if it were the setup for a reveal later (like, the story starts with Bruce insisting to Clark that it has to be secret, Clark wistfully agreeing that everything he's saying makes sense and Clark totally understands ... but then Bruce is the one who finds himself struggling to keep his mouth shut, who discovers within himself a deep well of possessiveness he hadn't known was there that really HATES watching Clark take his ring off every morning before leaving for work, and finally he has to crack himself open about it and quietly ask whether Clark would mind switching gears and going public :'D) ...

... and I would love this if it stayed a secret but in a good way (Batman and Superman have to get married because *waves hands* aliens make them do it, they're not allowed in the space temple on a space mission unless they AND their relationship have been consecrated and blessed by the gods ... which throws a wrench straight into the middle of Bruce and Clark's relationship, they had BOTH AGREED that they couldn't see any reasonable way to get married and that that was fine, they were emotionally committed to each other and that was what mattered, but something about going through this ceremony together cracks them BOTH open about it, and Bruce can see it in Clark, that it meant a lot to him to do it but he'll never ask Bruce for something Bruce indicated was off the table = Bruce quietly arranges a secret wedding for them at Martha's house with the rest of the League ♥).

So, yeah. I think just about anything is plausible if you're willing to handwave a little bit :D and there are scenarios I really enjoy no matter which way the logistics get handled, haha. (If you like one option more than the others, though, or if there's a specific married!Superbat idea you want to talk about, feel free to send me another ask! ♥)

Do you ever get writers block.

Haha, oh, I certainly do! For me personally, it tends to be a matter of my conscious mind having screwed something up or written itself into a corner, and needing to give my subconscious mind time to sort the problem out and present me with the solution on a platter. Which it usually does! (Eventually.)

I am almost always writing something or other, though, and even when I’m blocked on one thing, I tend to compensate by working on something else. Sometimes that even helps; it can feel like I’ve kind of got a creative logjam, and I need to get whatever’s in front out of the way and down on paper before whatever’s behind it can get through. I know for some people, writer’s block means they can’t work on anything at all, but that doesn’t usually happen to me.

How do you feel about the staff?

The staff here are absolutely beyond phenomenal. True professionals who have really honed their crafts and subject matters. I see each of them as wells of knowledge, and I fully intend to take full advantage of that. I admire them all, and want to do my absolute best to take in and absorb everything their minds have to offer.

Definitely Fellowship of the Ring (part of the Lord of the Rings). Gandalf is oddly one of my heroes to look up to and I’m just a big fan of fantasy movies. I make Teddy set through the movies all the time. I think we’ve only made it through an hour and half without something coming up.

I love that I care a lot about people. My friends are basically my family and I may joke around a lot of time and act like a fool but I would do anything for them. I also love that I’m with the best man in the multiverse and universe.

Oh my, it’s been over a month since I got this question, I sincerely apologise for the delay in replying to your ask, anon!

I’m very absentminded, hope you can forgive me.

Well, I’ve loved everything, literally. So I don’t even know where to start. Since Yuuki’s apparition, it had me all: 

In my opinion, there was a lot of effort put into the chapter. Hino didn’t forget any small detail this time. In my eyes, that’s very important. 

I find it simply beautiful the way Hino is showing us some comparisons between Aidori’s and Zeki’s relationships on this chapter, again.

— Kuran Yuuki.

❝ “I want to cherish my time with Wakaba”, I keep thinking these things… ❞

— Aidou Hanabusa.

A little thing that I can quickly see since the spoilers was:

The knights holding the shoulders of their princesses. ♡

But that’s not all. 

By giving us these panels, to me, it’s another Hino’s way to make the Real Pairings of VK 1000% more canon than they already are. xD Having in mind that Aidou is going to propose to Sayori — and Zeki decided to start being together properly, you can see the truly parallel. The being as a official couple, so to speak. 

I really love the fact that when it’s time for Aidori to shine they always do it perfectly. I’m very happy because Hino is giving them priority. I’m always enjoying them they had me smiling like an idiot during all the chapter — I almost cried in Aidou’s proposal. :› Mostly because just as Sayori said, Aidou is always mindful of her feelings at the point can be awkward to himself. In short, I love seeing them in love. I will never get enough of them. ♥ 

And to see Zeki’s growth was just…

Stunning. Wonderful. Excellent. There aren’t words to describe this.

It’s just beautiful the fact that Zero and Yuuki keep growing up together. Maturing together. Learning together. Making everything together. 

And not only that, but making decisions together as well. There is equality. That’s what “love” is. 

Incomparable to anything else.

And we finally know Zeki’s favorite place. Now I can understand why Yuuki was basically running to the bench…

And though both Hunters and Purebloods don’t want Zero and Yuuki together, well, what a pity for them. But Zero and Yuuki cannot keep away from each other. In fact they need to each other. 

Another little thing that in my opinion was very important, is analysing Yuuki’s ”dark side”. 

What I actually adore is the reason why she faced the Purebloods.

As I mentioned, both Zero and Yuuki grew together. But there is a obvious difference: Yuuki’s growth was the most notable because Zero was very mature in comparison with a lot of characters in VK, when he was only 17.

‘This Yuuki’ looks and is much more mature, stronger. Unlike ‘the Yuuki’ in volume 19, so weak, so pitiful. ‘This Yuuki’ is the Yuuki I always wanted to see, ‘the Yuuki’ she was always meant to be.

And seeing a ‘Mature Yuuki’ making very clear that she would do everything for Zero — and just for Zero, it’s something… 

…truly beautiful for my soul.

I liked her, but after reading this chapter, I can say sincerely that I love her.

I enjoyed tremendously the chapter. One of my favorites, undoubtedly. It was simply excellent and beautiful. Bravo, Hino!

Though everything, I’m just a little bit disappoint because I really wanted to see baby Ren on this chapter. I want to know everything about him. But above all, I want to see him with his daddy. Can’t wait for these adorably beautiful scenes. ♥ 

Hope to see Ren soon in the next chapter.
