Uncynical answer: They're too bro for the ship tease! And Athrun's a ladies man if you know what I mean (but Kira will always be his first love UwU)

Cynical answer: Bandai only wants fujoshi merch money while being too cowardly to actually make a statement about anything for fear of angering the fanboys. Even if Yzak and Dearka were to become a thing, imagine the shitstorm happening at their internal marketing communications.

Asukira: How the romance attracted my attention?

WARNING: spoilers; Asukira

The initial chance I starting watching Gundam Seed this year is I watched a video talked about the friendship between Ishida-San and Hoshi-San. I love Makoto Yuuki’s voice and Goro Akechi’s voice. And the YouTuber said the relationship between Athrun and Kira is absolutely complicated and sweet. So although Gundam Seed is an old anime I still started.

And after finishing the anime, I also heard the old Drama and some radios cut. And actually, their relationship is definitely complex. It’s difficult to just regard it as romance, but the romance tendency exists.

The basic reason is that their childhood memories are too deep and important for them. And the special activities from Athrun. For Kira, although Athrun is important for him, his other friends are significant as well. Meanwhile, for Athrun, Kira is the only important friend, so he couldn’t fight with Kira.

The most impressive part for me about Asukira is they meet with each other and Athrun takes Tori back to Kira. The music is really in time and their emotions are really attractive. They meet each other but couldn’t hug each other, and it will be another start for their next fight. The complicated feelings are awesome.

Seven pages down! 

Ultimately what I have at this point is a skeleton, if you will. Once I have the skeleton done, my beta will be hounding me to read it, to be sure x,D. When I told them two days ago about where my gutter thoughts had landed me while listening to LAST OF THE REAL ONES, they were very adamant that they would beta this for me (it took them two weeks to finally finish beta’ing Dance, C’mon for me xP). They also listened to the song and snapped me while listening to the song. Along the lines of “oh my fucking God I never noticed til now but  T H I S  S O N G  I S  T H E M  O H  M Y  F U C K.”

And so here we are, interrupting the SasuSaku sequel to Dance, C’mon because Kira and Athrun are getting in my face like “but you liked us better than you like SasuSaku even after they became canon. You have to write about us first!”

But also the fanart I see of these two is L I F E  G I V I N G when you’re writing smut about them x,).

Anywho, time to try napping before I head off to the night shift after adding another two pages to my skeleton. Keep your eyes peeled here for updates and on AO3 for the fics I talk about here!

SEED hurts me so bad. I was rooting for Kira/Athurn but got Lacus and Cagalli. It feels like buying vodka but got mineral water instead 🤣

Oh, Anon. You deserve every Asukira moment in the SEED Character Theater and more. And let's hope they put more of Athrun in the new movie.
