yknow i love transmasc/tboy dirk always and forever but the way some ppl treat transmascness vs transfemmeness in HS's narrative........kinda sucks. like the whole thing about how being transfeminine is a literal transient experience and lets the character in question (any character) truly escape the oppression of HS's narrative-as-a-character which is patriarchal and toxic (lord english, hussie-the-character to an extent. i guess. idk ive seen a lotta ppl lump SI-hussie in w/ this), which is great and does hold weight as an analytical lens esp with how hussie irl is nonbinary. but where does this leave transmasc characters. why are we treating (headcanoned) transfemme HS characters like this and then tbh gleefully dooming (headcanoned) transmasc characters to eternal narrative suffering brought by LE and then mocking them for being ''gross tboys'' full of ''icky testorerone'' so its their fault theyre in this perpetual torment really? because they ''''chose to be a man''''? dunno man its starting to feel bad. especially since some bnf's who are really into this fan theory do actually kinda treat the general idea of transmasculinity like somthing to hold with tongs at arms length away from them. as if its alien or infectous or something and then get really mad when equally dysphoric transmascs do the same with feminity. why are we dooming dirk strider to eternal toxic-masculine suffering and what does that say about how we treat real life transmasc folks both in and outside of the fandom

is the mechanisms a podcast or an album of songs? i'd really like to listen to it, it sounds cool!

!! :3 the mechanisms are a band!!  i gotta put this under a read more bc. its a Lot for me to explain  &im not good at that always so POFFJSFDPIGVDF

SO, each album exists as, like, an independent story?  and there are four of these albums, structured in this manner (and 2 more, but i’ll mention them later). meaning u have to listen to the songs, within them, chronologically and they connected as one big narrative. OTHERWISE, the albums can be listened to in whatever order  (although once upon a time in space is where most people start, bc yeah its the first one, and it introduces you to the mechanisms themselves)

the stories themselves are basically retellings of fairytale, myth, folklore and legend, with a sci fi twist + other stuff added for FLAVOUR.(also . gay& trans characters everywhere). for example: my favourite album is high noon over camelot, which is arthurian legend set as a western on a dying spacestation. (arthur, guinevere  and lancelot are all dating and call each other “my love” which... frankly, soothes the soul).

but then u also have, like.  first album, once upon a time (in space) which is basically. old fairy tale, like snow white, cinderella, the three little pigs, etc. all in one big space war.  there’s an absolute BANGER of a song called “our boy jack” which is basically: a rebel wartime song, about jack (from jack and the giant) defeating big powerful fucking mechs (the giants)  which. yeah that FUCKS.

meanwhole like. the mechanismt hemselves are also characters? theyre basically: a band of immortal space pirates. and they, for the most part, are ther ones telling these stories (and sometimes get involved in the... like this isnt a spoiler, but in the bifrost incident: they’re literally just prisoners, chilling in that one).  hence why its usually best to listen to the first album first, even f the other order doesnt matter, as Jonny D’ville (... also known as jonny sims, who, if ur familiar with tma, you might recognise that name) introduces himself and the mechs briefly in that one 

hthe OTHER two albums are called: Tales to be Told. (Vol 1 and Vol 2). which have like a COLLECTION of unrelated songs in them? which usually come under either: one song-length stories, of the sae nature as the albums. OR they have indibvidual mechanisms character’s origin stories . tbh im not THAT good when it coems to like. the deeper lore concerning the mechs themselves, as i favour the album- long  stories & havent dived into all the fiction available on their site :pensive:

ok everyone heres my #jotakak #fanfiction plus some things i’ve decided for myself in regards to his character

the “fic” is after the numbers so if ya wanna skip to that go right on ahead

1. you don’t need a reason to hate women but my brain, bless its heart, made a cute little attempt at giving jotaro a reason so here it is. well there are two reasons. the first reason is this: women are constantly fawning over him for his good looks but that’s pretty much all they care about so maybe at some point in the past he got burned and since every girl acts this way around him he just assumes it’ll happen again so he “pushes them away” (bes mean first/projects that anger outward before even interacting). 

2. the second reason is this: he’s trans and overcompensating which is unfortunately not uncommon. usually i trans headcanon characters i like but honestly i’m just doing this for a little #flavour because he is not very compelling to me at all but this at least gives some... interest... for me... i guess. and gives me a little more to work with.

ok. so

kakyoin witnesses jotaro calliing his mom binch and gets mad about it because he likes jotaros mom! and jotaros like shut up dont tell me what to do and kakyoins like what the he'll jojo

kakyoin voice you are the only friend ive ever had and i am DISAPPOINTED IN YOU and jotaros like tch..basterd...get outta my house and kakyoin leaves and jotaro tips down his hat and is like ....you are the only friend i ever had to so he sulks about it and kakyoins not talking to him and then his mom gets on his nerves for being a living human being, as she does, but before he calls her a binch he hesitates and kakyoins >:( face floats in his head so hes like tch..whatever and his mom is like :o and theyre still not talking because theyre both proud binches but then after class or something kakyoin witnesses jotaros fangirls going up to him and he can see jotaros jaw Clench but he doesnt say anything and kakyoins like >:o

and then kakyoin is like hey......whats up and jotaros like *grunt* and kakyoins like i saw what u did the other day. or rather what u didnt do. and jotaros like ... . and kakyoins like jotaro why are you so mean to women and jotaro is like well its because [reasons aforementioned] and kakyoin goes understandable, but you have to do better an jotaros like im tryin arent i. and kakyoin goes yeah

and then every time jotaro is being a douchebag kakyoin pinches him. the end

i said it was jotakak so i guess they make out at some point, i dont know
