Can you give us a history lesson on By Nature?

Like what did the characters do that was significant before the first fic?

(Or like, the general history of the Rovenger’s?)

oh god history-

uhhh,, i can’t say i’ve thought much about pre-fic stuff-

or, well. actually, maybe i have? only bits, tho,, like bad’s disappearance or the founding of the borrower village that still really needs a name.

i’ll be touching on the former in the fic — or at least, that’s what i plan to do — but i could share stuff about the latter!

i imagine phil first meets techno and/or wilbur about maybe… two years or so, after he meets kristin? at this point, he’s settled in with her — doesn’t quite live with her, he’s still a borrower with the innate urge to explore; and plus, she keeps going away for college; and eventually, for her archeology job — but he always comes back home to her eventually.

one day, he ends up coming across…. hold on i need to do math to calculate ages. like.. two young teen borrowers? they’re way too young to be out on their own like they are now, so, after some convincing, he manages to take them back home to kristin’s place.

they’re wary, at first, especially when kristin arrives, but eventually, they settle in.

and.. maybe, phil ends up finding a whole bunch of borrowers passing through the forest, occasionally. no one as young as the twins, luckily, but they all still struggle to survive out in the forest, sometimes.

and so, phil comes up with an idea. he knows no borrower would ever in their right mind agree to the kind of life phil and his kids have — that being, living alongside a human, with their knowledge— so he comes up with a better idea.

he decides to found a village.

with the help of kristin, he manages to find an old, abandoned burrow of some animal, not too far away from their house, and he starts working.

as the village is constructed, he comes across more borrowers, and he convinces them to help in exchange for a place here. over time, maybe months, maybe even a year, they work — and soon, the tunnels are complete. kristin even lends him some old christmas lights to use as lighting in the burrows.

and just like that, the village was formed.

years pass, until one day, phil comes across a young borrower. younger than even wilbur or techno were, when he found them.

it was harder to convince the kid to come with him, than it was for his two boys, but eventually, the kid concedes, and goes with him.

phil doesn’t intend to adopt the kid as one of his own — he just wanted to give the kid somewhere to stay. anywhere was better for a young borrower than out in the woods alone.

but, he ends up growing attached. and soon, he finds the boy ended up doing the same.

wilbur and techno easily adopt the kid — named tommy — into their little makeshift family. and they even manage to introduce tommy to kristin after a while, as well.

and, years later, when phil’s youngest was fifteen, the boy brought home another borrower, all but begging him to stay, at least for a night.

phil, not one to let anyone go out on their own, especially a kid, conceded, and so, the kid — tubbo — stayed a night.

and then, he stayed another.

and then, tubbo found himself being brought in as yet another member of the craft family.

16 — Do you write by hand, on your phone, or on your laptop?

i write on my phone, or my ipad! i have never written a fic by hand, but i absolutely commend those who do! that must be really hard,, dkdndkdj.

45 — What genre/trope do you tend to write the most?

mmm,, genre and tropes…. can’t say i’m the most knowledgeable on either of those(i have no object permanence 😔),, i just write whatever i’m inch rested in. but uh,, i like the found family trope a lot!!

48 — Who is your favorite character to write for?  Has this changed since you’ve started writing for that fandom?

mmmmm,,, i like writing techno a lot!!! as well as ranboo and tommy,,,,,,

57 — How conscious are you about including symbolism or foreshadowing in your fics?

i’d say about… 50%. some times the foreshadowing is intentional(i.e. skeppy knowing ‘bout sapnap being half siren in a fishy situation),, other times it is completely on accident.

69 — What are your favorite fics at the moment?

ooo,, i really love the by nature au so far!!! it’s my longest fic yet,, and the designs are nice,,,, specifically those for the rovengers.

i’m also a big fan of the fic over on my main!! i.. have not worked on it since posting what should be the first chapter of it,, but what i have planned in my mind is very cool, in my opinion. now,, i just have to.. fully plot out everything, and then actually write it….. h.

75 — Do you have a fic you wish got a bit more love?

ooooooo,,, that’s a tough one…

actually, i… don’t think there a fic on this blog i feel that way towards? all of the fics i’ve posted here, at least to me, feel like they’ve gotten the amount of love they deserve.

if i had to name a fic, any fic.. i guess i’d have to say the one over on my main? granted, it’s only got the one chapter, so it’s not really a complete story,, but.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

78 — What motivates you during the writing process?

okay but seriously,, i like receiving comments about my fics! that’s my main motivation for writing,, along with the fact that i’m actually able to get my thoughts out of my head and into a physical form of sorts.
