A/N: I, uh, went a little overboard with this... I think.. but I couldn’t stop myself or my brain.. it’s crazy how my brain constructed this criminal story from such a harmless prompt.. please don’t question that
Tumblr media
“Is everything ready?” You asked with a hushed voice, brushing a few strands of hair out of your face. You glanced around the area with a grim expression.
A barely used roadway had led you to this old and racked factory in the middle of nowhere. A few dead trees stood around, the branches brustling in the cold wind.
You glanced over your shoulder to your team that secured their bullet proof vests and checked their weapons.
“We’re ready. Team Bravo and Caesar are going to the backdoor, Team Delta will make sure to secure the area and our team will storm in through the front.”
The commander waved with his hand in the air, giving silent signals to the teams which moved accordingly. “You should stay back. We don’t know how many are in there.”
“Sorry but no. I’m going to tear this building apart. These monsters are involved with illegal practices,” you growled and turned your focus back to the front door.
“Fine, but don’t come at me. I warned you.”
You shrugged with your shoulders and walked over to the front door, waiting for your team to follow.
All of them had the same grim expression as you. They got ready and with a small nod all of you agreed to limit your communication on hand movements.
Another nod and your team broke the door, kicking it open and storming into the factory.
You quickly followed them, narrowing your eyes due to the dim light inside. You scanned the area and noticed transport boxes over transport boxes at one side of the room. With a simple motion you told your team to back you up, while you hurried over.
You grabbed a knife and torch, flashing the light over the closest box. An address overseas was written on top of it. Your stomach churned in distaste. You moved to another box, silently making a note in your mind that a different address was written on it. You took a deep breath and clenched the torch between your teeth so you had both your hands free to cut the box open.
A low growl escaped your lips when you opened the box and saw all the pelts within it. You didn’t have to guess to know that all those boxes were stuffed with illegal pelts.
You squeezed your eyes close and swallowed dryly. You didn’t want to imagine how those animals had to live in horrible conditions before they were tortured and killed.
“Let’s go”, you harshly whispered and turned away, going deeper into the factory. You stopped at another door and let your team break this one down as well.
Your team stormed into the next room, suddenly yelling various orders around. You were barely able to understand what they shouted. With bated breath you rushed into the room as well.
Overwhelmed with the situation, you stopped at the entrance again, staring in disbelief at the room in front of you.
A dozen cages were lined on the two opposing walls, each of them occupying a different kind of animal. You saw polar bears, white tigers and a few albinos.
The animals fled into the furthest corners of their cages, eyes anxiously trained on your team and the smugglers fighting with each other.
Your team still shouted orders around, pinning most of the culprits to the ground. The rest still ran around or chased the missing men to the backdoor.
You swallowed and ran a hand through your hair. You didn’t expect a situation like this. All the intel you had only told you about the smuggler ring and their base. Nothing had mentioned they used this building as a factory farm.
“We got all of them”, the commander approached you, nodding sternly, “we bring them to the cars. What should we do with the animals?”
You blinked a few times, still processing the information, when another voice suddenly spoke up. “We are not animals.”
You turned around with wide eyes, staring at the person in the cage where you had seen the polar bear moments ago. You gasped in shock and clutched a hand over your mouth. “All of you?”
The hybrid nodded and carefully stepped closer. Their eyes fixed you and the commander, suspicion evident in them.
You took a quick look at their appearance, noticing they had barely any clothes on and were barefoot. You didn’t even have to ask if the others had more clothes on. “I’m so sorry”, you whispered, breathing heavily to prevent the tears in your eyes from falling.
“Demand a bus and lots of warm clothes! Contact the hybrid rescue organisation and get these bastards out of my sight,” You ordered your team. “Find the keys to the cages and ascertain the evidence, especially the boxes we saw.
You clenched your jaw, trying to avoid the thought about the pelts inside of those. You had to think clearly now and keep a cool head.
“If you want you can turn back”, you gently said to the hybrid, who shivered violently inside the cage. “It’s too cold here and even colder outside. I’m sure being in your animal form keeps you warmer.”
The hybrid hesitated for a moment but nodded and turned back into the massive polar bear you had seen before.
“I guess you still understand me. Please, stay in your animal form as it will keep you slightly warmer. Once I get the go I will lead you to a bus. My team will hand out warm clothes to you so you can change back into your human form and get dressed before you can get into the bus. The driver will bring you to a rescue centre where you get help. I vouch for your safety,” you told them, walking along the cages and nodding reassuringly.
A few men from your team came back with various keys and you instructed them to unlock every cage. They pushed the doors open and moved to the next cage, giving the hybrids some space.
You checked on every hybrid and made sure they responded to you, even though some of them still reacted hostile towards you. You weren’t worried about it, understanding their doubt. Most of them were too weak to fight, only bones and skin and nothing else.
When you reached the furthest cage from the entrance you crouched down and tilted your head. Every hybrid so far had white fur but this fox-like one had only a few tufts of white the rest of their fur grey-ish brown.
“Hey, are you alright?”
No reaction. Alarmed, you went closer to the hybrid, scanning every detail you could pick up. Extremely thin, barely breathing and eyes closed.
“He hasn't moved since yesterday.”
You slightly jumped at the voice of the polar bear hybrid behind you. They had their arms clutched around their body, trying to suppress the shivering.
With a sigh you stood up again and took off your jacket, handing it to the polar bear hybrid. “You know him?”
The hybrid shook their head. “Not really. His name is Seonghwa and as far as I know he has stayed here the longest time.”
“And he hasn’t moved since yesterday?”
“Yeah, we got barely any food or water here. Even sleep was limited. The fear is too strong for us to relax at all.”
You hummed and crouched down again, placing a hand on his chest. A hiss escaped your lips when you felt how cold he was. You didn’t hesitate and gently picked the small body up, securing him underneath your sweater to warm him up again.
“You’re different from the others,” the hybrid behind you stated, watching your every move. “You don’t see us as animals.”
Before you were able to answer, the commander rushed back into the room. “Y/N! Everything is ready. The rescue centre was informed and a bus just arrived at the front door.”
“Good. Commander, make sure everyone in the team keeps their distance to the hybrids. I don’t want any of them to approach unless the hybrids themselves or I ordered it.”
The commander saluted dutifully and ran back out of the room.
“You heard it. Please come with me.” You smiled reassuringly at the hybrids around you and started walking out of the room while you still held onto Seonghwa.
Your team held doors open and followed your orders perfectly. Once you reached the bus two men stepped up to you with big boxes full of warm clothes. “There are blankets on each seat in the bus as well.”
“Thank you”, you whispered and motioned to the hybrids to come closer. You watched how one after the other turned into humans and received clothes, which they quickly put on.
They thanked you quietly, each of them taking your hand and brushing their cheek against it, before they got onto the bus.
You smiled and nodded every time.
“As soon as everyone is inside they are good to go.” One of your team members told you.
“Very good. Please send my contact information along with them. Should any of the hybrids feel worried about something I want to be informed immediately,” you said with a firm voice, watching the hybrids through the bus windows and how they snuggled into the blankets.
Your team member nodded and walked over to the driver, instructing him with all the new information. Once everything was settled the bus drove off with two cars tailing it as a security measure.
You watched them drive away, the vehicle getting smaller and smaller, when something moved underneath your sweater. Your eyes widened in shock, realising you had forgotten you were still holding onto Seonghwa. “Shit.”
The second you looked down, you saw two dark eyes sleepily gazing up to you.
“Hey”, you whispered, the corners of your lips tucking up slightly, “you’re Seonghwa, right? I’m Y/N. Do you feel warmer now?”
“Y/N? Hey Y/N, are you even listening?”
Blinking rapidly, you shook your head and focused on the curious face in front of you.
Seonghwa smiled cutely, tilting his head to one side. “You didn’t listen, did you? What have you been thinking about to be this deep inside of your mind?”
“Sorry, I just remembered the day we two met.” You shrugged with your shoulders. “So much happened back then and so much changed.”
He nodded slowly, a sliver of pain washing over his face from the memory, before he smiled again. “Maybe you did listen a little.”
“Huh?”
Seonghwa chuckled lowly and shook his head. “You’re still not completely here, are you? Have you noticed something? About me?”
Confused, you leaned back and took a better look at him. You still saw the dark eyes, gazing at you - just a little more attentive now. You saw the sharp jawlines and his high cheekbones, his tall and thin body. Nothing out of the ordinary. You pursed your lips, your gaze wandering down and back up again.
He chuckled again and motioned you to wait a second. As soon as he received a nod from you, Seonghwa hurried out of the room.
Only seconds later a white ball of fur zoomed into the room, jumping on top of the couch and bouncing excitedly on a pillow.
You gasped and clapped your hands in front of your mouth. “Oh my”, you mumbled and leaned forward. Thinking about it, you realised Seonghwa didn’t have his normally dark hair but something blond, almost white hair colour. You stretched out a hand and brushed your fingers through the thick fur. “You got your winter fur! That is amazing!”
The little fox seemed to almost grin brightly, once again bouncing excitedly on top of a pillow. He ran around in a few circles and came to a halt again.
A huge smile stretched over your face. When you rescued Seonghwa it was late winter and due to his imprisonment he had never seen the light of day, preventing the seasonal change of fur. Now with the first winter and an opportunity to experience it outside, additionally to his increased health, the arctic fox hybrid finally had a change of fur.
“I’m so happy for you! How do you feel with a new set of fur? Is it as wonderful as it looks?”
Seonghwa jumped up again, show-casing how excited he was.
You glanced out of the window for the first time today, realising how bright it seemed despite the late hour. Your smile got even wider when you saw the snowflakes slowly drifting through the ground. “I think we should celebrate this.” You grinned and stood up, getting your snow boots and a parka.
The hybrid followed you with curious eyes, trailing always right behind you. He watched you getting dressed and how you stuffed your keys into a pocket before you pulled the door open.
A gush of icy wind blew into the hallway, bringing a few stray snowflakes with it, which melted as soon as they landed somewhere.
Excitement rushed through Seonghwa’s body, his instincts vibrating with energy. He giddily tapped on his front paws, his eyes flicking between you and the untouched snow outside.
“Let’s go”, you giggled and made a hand movement to usher him outside.
Seonghwa didn’t need to hear more. His tiny body leaped forward, not stopping when his paws touched the cold surface underneath him. He jumped around and whirled up even more snow.
You watched him silently with a happy smile and followed him further into the plains of snow. Since you lived quite secluded your property was pretty large, giving you and Seonghwa enough space to live in peace. And enough space covered in snow.
Seonghwa pranced through the snow. You even saw him jump head first into a snow drift, sinking into it so only his white fluff tail and hind legs stuck out.
A loud laugh escaped your mouth at the ridiculous view. You’ve never seen him this playful before - sneaky and witty were a common occurrence after he warmed up to you but playful seemed new.
Even though half of his body was stuck underneath a layer of snow, Seonghwa’s sensitive hybrid ears picked up your laughter. He dug himself out of the snow again. The second he was free again his head snapped towards you.
His heart thumped erratically within his chest, overflowing with warmth and tiny electric sparks. Seeing and hearing you laugh, reassured Seonghwa of being home and safe. He found his place with you and never wanted to leave your side.
You took a deep breath and tried to calm yourself again, feeling quite breathless now. Before you could do that though, you saw Seonghwa running towards you.
You could barely follow his movements since he appeared almost invisible with his white fur on the snow.
Only a few metres in front of you Seonghwa suddenly transformed in mid air. He didn’t slow down and crashed into you, making you lose your balance. Both of you fell into the snow and you squealed in shock.
Seonghwa wrapped his arms around your body and rubbed his face against the crook between your neck and your shoulder. “Thank you.”
You nearly didn’t catch his voice but once your brain registered his words, you smiled brightly and hugged him tightly. There was no need for you to ask what he thanked you for. You just hummed. “Always.”
For a while both of you just laid in the snow, hugging each other, until Seonghwa propped himself up.
He gazed down at you, cheeks rosy and a shy smile adorning his lips.
You weren’t sure if the colour resulted from the cold or something else. You just knew you couldn’t avert your gaze. Drawn to his sharp features and snowflakes that got caught in his eyelashes, you slowly leaned closer. You could feel his hot breath fanning over your cheeks and saw how his gaze switched between your eyes and your lips.
With a giggle you pecked his cheek and dropped back into the snow. “If you want to stay in your human form you should get your jacket. I don’t want you getting sick.”
Seonghwa didn’t answer or react at all, just staring at you with bright red cheeks and a mouth that was slightly ajar. It took him several seconds to regain his composure again. And even then his mouth acted faster than his brain. “I love you.”
You looked at Seonghwa with wide eyes, knowing that his hybrid side wouldn’t allow him to say these words, if he wasn’t completely sure of it. You knew that arctic foxes mated for life, meaning they stayed with their significant other until the day they died. You had researched a lot about the animal since the information about the hybrids weren’t as much. So you knew those three words were a big deal.
“Are you, I mean, do you”, you stammered, searching for any indication Seonghwa had doubts.
“Do you love me too?”
The question took you off guard and you felt the air leaving your lungs. You didn’t even know why since you could easily answer the question with a yes. Still, you felt your stomach fluttering and your breathing returning shallow.
Seonghwa smirked, hearing your physical reactions to his simple question. “I take that as a yes”, he whispered and leaned down, kissing you.

ATEEZ & THE TEAMS THEY WOULD BE IN IF THEY WERE IN HAIKYUU !!
Tumblr media
content — food, a bit of character dating
reminder — please keep in mind that this is all fictional work!
< this is a milestone special !! thank you for your support since the start, i love you all so so much <3 you all mean so much to me, and im so so so proud of you for making it to 2021. thank you, once again my friends,, >
Tumblr media
HONGJOONG — DATE TECH
this team is the least chaotic one out of the eight i chose pls
he would probably play setter
yea he's short but this mf is a FROG
thus, his nickname 'date tech's mighty frog'
he can jump really high and slap that ball with top notch strength
date tech's no touch ace !
this teammates would ruffle his hair whenever he gets a point for them (he likes it very much)
is scared of aone but they both get along just fine
example: joong bought aone a teddy bear sweater for his birthday and aone instantly hugged joong for a straight minute
kenji would probably act like his big brother during matches being like "im so proud of him" or "i taught him that!" since him and joong had been friends for a long time
Tumblr media
SEONGHWA — SHIRATORIZAWA
he honestly just wanted to join the team bcs he liked the uniforms but after a while he started to like the sport
he's a setter, a good one at that
his arm strength gives him the opportunity to do a powerful serve
this man never skips leg day either-
his nickname would be 'mr. sunshine' because of his very pretty smile
seonghwa would be somewhat a mix of tendou and semi
a little bit chaotic when with the people he trust, but collected and a bit serious with others
he gives positive reactions to tendou's jokes or puns even if they were bad
tendou and him are the power pair, both in and out of the match
ushjimai would learn to be slightly more unhinged from both of their incfluences
seonghwa would also later on introduce ushijima and they would match their outfits a lot
Tumblr media
YUNHO — INARIZAKI
he joined because he wanted to try something different other than his regular sport
a middle blocker with suna and ren! (oo supremacy oo)
the three of them,, really are something else
the middle blocker players would be dubbed 'triple threat'
yunho is seen as a threat to the other teams whenever inarizaki played a match
he's calmest of the team but nonetheless still be a whole ass nerd behind the scenes
him and atsumu had been friends since middle school, needless to say osamu will always be there to tone down the chaos
he literally is the teammate who's mum would make snacks for the whole team during matches
his mum is inarizaki's mum and she treats everyone as her own child
honestly had a big fat crush on osamu and so she referred to osamu once accidentally using "yunho's precious onigiri"
yunho: MOTHER -/////u/////-
osamu: oh?
Tumblr media
YEOSANG — FUKURODANI
this man LOVES the heck out of the school, not sure why but he really does
after all, that's where he met his bestest friends
he would be a libero hehe aka komi's partner in crime
he's one of the top liberos of japan too smirks
konoha's best friend forever
they both annoy the shit out of each other but what is anime without a bickering friends trope
whenever the team wins a match, he would treat them for a meal at the local restaurant
he's quiet around them but they never fail to make him smile or laugh
akaashi and him are the pro strategists of the team
they could make out a solution to their problem on the court in just a few seconds as the balls are passed around
that's pretty hot ngl
Tumblr media
SAN — NEKOMA
san literally is a cat except for his physical form
he's a outside hitter and is nicknamed 'neko-san'
its because he can move swiftly and send the ball right back to the opposed team
the other nekoma teammates like him very much, especially kai
their friendship is basically chaotic x calm, with san being the chaotic one of course
but they get along very well, some describe them like the sun and the moon (different people but similar motives/personalities)
he and kenma would stay up at night playing video games with each other and ofc kai and kuroo would be hearing them through the team's discord server vc
the team would often go over to his house just to play with byeol <3 and hang
yaku has a secret crush on san's older sister LMAO
Tumblr media
MINGI — KARASUNO
he joined because tanaka begged him (even bribed him with banana milk)
well it worked because he's karasuno's starlight
middle blocker mingi coming your way !!
he's narita's best friend, ever since elementary school
he's tall but his jumping skills make him a whole GIANT, which goes the same for his arms too
tsukki and him actually get along, which was weird at first but everyone just accepted it
he helps the others with their studies as he's an A+ student
he helps others with comforting them as well, seeing as he is there whenever someone needs a shoulder to cry on
he's actually dating watabe from the girl's team and they are vvv cute together
they sometimes practice volleyball together as well,,, ah what a couple
Tumblr media
WOOYOUNG — SEIJOH
the only person who joined because he actually loves volleyball
he is a setter and no one can tell me different
he's close to the third years even though he's a year younger
loves to make fun of oikawa with iwaizumi during practices
though oikawa likes this junior of his very much
he's called "seijoh's medicine" because he could clear up the tension between his teammates even if it was high
he would be seen with mad dog, often at the library or in internet cafes
both of them enjoy each other's comfort very much
it was speculated that they both dated but the pair never said anything much
was supposed to move to nekoma but his family decided to stay
Tumblr media
JONGHO — JOHZENJI
he joined volleyball because he wanted to continue his grandmother's legacy
johzenji's loved opposite hitter
he's their strategist too whenever their coach needed help with the formation
dubbed 'the sane one' by the other johzenji members
is not particularly close to the others but they get along just fine
he loves just seeing them in their natural way of chaotic mode, it just has him in awe
especially because he loves seeing one enjoying themselves
he's doesn't hate losing but when the team wins some happy tears can be seen
sometimes you can catch him and futama playing before practice just to get a headstart
after practice he buys the member's their favorite drinks from the gym's vending machine
bonus: he gets hugged by terushima a lot and teru calls him 'jongbear'

–– OVERDUE // HONGJOONG.
pairing: librarian! hongjoong x gn! reader genre: fluff word count: 985 warnings: profanities, no more that i know of
Tumblr media
Stressed.
That’s just one of the hundred words you’re feeling right now. College and your own problems we’re eating you up and you absolutely have no idea how to handle it.
Tons and tons of books were in your hands and you can’t even balance them.
“You need help?” A manly voice startles you while you were reaching for the book on the top shelf, making the books on your hand fall down noisily and messily.
“Shit,” You muttered, not even batting an eye at the man who only meant to be nice. “Librarian’s going to fucking kill me,”
“Oh, not for today,” The man chuckles and you finally put in an effort to glance at him for a second, to see him helping you pick the books up. You didn’t waste a second and grabbed it from him softly, mumbling a thank you before reaching for the book you were stopped from getting a while ago.
You felt his stare at you– or maybe your hands, you don’t know. You have now spent an entire minute reaching for it, grunting when you got into your heels.
“Okay, maybe I need your help.” You finally face him who was lightly leaning on the other bookshelf, his arms crossed over chest and his face wore an amused face watching you.
You take note of how this handsome man hopped out of his place, easily pushing a platform from who knows where that you didn’t see a while ago, pushing his specs upwards, and finally got ahold of the book, giving it to you.
“Mocked me as if he was so tall,” You whispered under your breath, stifling a scoff. “Thank you, good sir.” And you fled, your heart beating more than normal because of how much you were rushing.
Or is it because of how your hands brushed with the man?
You shake your head harshly, dropping the ten thick books you needed to study for your psych class in the main table, the snarky, old woman out of sight.
"Where the fuck is she.. I need to study,” You muttered to yourself, your foot continuously tapping anxiously.
“I told you not for today,” The same, familiar voice ringing in your ears. You turn your head to face him, raising an eyebrow. “I am the librarian today.” He smiles and oh my god, you just felt the world stop at his smile.
“Nice.” You smile back, heaving a breath you didn’t know you held. Pushing the books forward to him, he just stares at you. “Sorry, I’m in a rush today so could you please just,” You wave your hands all over the books. “Do your thing and I’ll go.”
Your attitude amused him, though first time meeting you. He gives a small smirk, finally taking note of the titles of the books and getting the logbook.
“Name?” He asks, a smile slowly forming on his lips as you tiptoed to look at the logbook. He already had an idea of who you were, seeing red marks all over the logbook with a name that’s got full of.. psych books.
Yet here he was, waiting for you to confirm that it is indeed you and it warmed his heart seeing you peeking from the tall table.
“y/n.”
“I’m Hongjoong,” He replies nonchalantly, making you look at him with an.. unexplainable, scrunched face. “Oh,” He stops and shows you the logbook. “You’ve got tons of books borrowed already.” You just stared at the logbook defeatedly, while he leaned his elbow on the table and propped his chin on his hand. “And overdue,” He adds, literally shooting heart eyes at you.
You mutter small curses under your breath, massaging your temples and thinking of a way to beg this fine man to give you extra days since you haven’t finished reading the books yet.
“Since it's already overdue,” You sigh. “Why don’t I just borrow it for a few more days.” You reach for your wallet and compute the days you’ll be borrowing the books more. “Here. Now, can I leave?” He just stares at the money, smiling at you.
“Okay, so why don’t we make a deal.” He stands up straight.
“Okay, sir– I don’t have much time, can you please hurry the fuck up?” You mock him and sigh exasperatingly, giving him a stink eye.
“Keep the books for a few more days and keep that money,” He leans closer between the table, “And treat me for a coffee the next time you bring those books.”
His confidence made you chuckle and no other sound has made Hongjoong’s heart burst like it.
“what makes you think, Hongjoong, that I’ve got time to go on a coffee date with you when I’m borrowing hundreds of books in a span of a week?”
Fuck. Hongjoong thought your chuckle was all that matters? No. It was also how his name softly left your lips that made his knees weak.
“Hongjoong here,” He puts his hand over his chest, “Can wait hundreds of years for you to finish those books if it meant even just one date with you.”
It was your turn to blush, but you didn’t even hide it. You felt your stomach burst butterflies and fireworks, a smile creeping on your face as you purse your lips.
“Please tell me you say these to every person you see here,” And you wished the opposite. You had long forgotten that you were in a rush to study, ready to risk another minute to talk to Hongjoong even if that meant an item wrong on your finals paper. You leaned forward, moving closer to him with much confidence.
“Oh,” He shrugs. “How would you feel if I say that I only say these to you?” He craned his neck sideward, challenging you.
Yh to hell passing the finals. you were going on a date right after his fucking shift in this old library.

Close to midnight
Tumblr media
Pairing: Choi San (Ateez) x GN!Reader; Genre: Fluff, Romance, Established Relationship; Rating: sfw, PG-13; Warnings: none; Wordcount: 1.554; Event: Winter Hearts from kdiarynet; Prompt: Number 40 - “Staying up until midnight”
Summary: San wanted to surprise you and booked a small holiday for the both of you in Finland. Clueless about his plans to show you something extraordinary, you get distracted with every little thing the winter in Finland presented you.
Tumblr media
“I think I’ve never been this far up north before”, you mumbled and stared out of the window. Everything was coated in thick, white snow as far as you could see. Except for the street you currently used, it didn't even appear touched at all. “This is so exciting!”
You turned back around on your seat, now staring at San, who drove the jeep across the snowy street.
A tense smile played over his lips, the only reaction he showed to your excited manner. Instead his whole focus was on the streets in front of him. He didn’t think of himself as a bad driver but he never drove with so much snow around; and that fact made him kind of nervous.
You watched him silently, never getting enough of him. You saw his tense jaw and how the tendons in his hands twitched whenever he felt an especially slippery part on the road and even though you couldn’t see his eyes due to the sunglasses you knew they flickered around, trying to see dangerous spots on the road in advance.
“It’s actually quite funny to see us in sunglasses in the middle of winter and snow.” You laughed and turned your head to look back out.
The sky above you was clear for miles, no clouds or other things tainting the light blue colour. Only the sun shone down on you, even though the light had only half the power during winter than during the warm summer days. Still, you liked how the sun rays hit the snow and made it twinkle like a thousand little crystals.
Sadly enough though you had to witness the sun slowly setting. The further up north the both of you drove, the limited sunlight during winter days appeared even more of a contrast than at home. “Aww, the sun is already setting”, you whined and leaned against the cold glass of the window.
“It’s fine! I see our destination ahead.”
You nearly jumped up if it weren’t for the safety belt and stared ahead of you, seeing some sort of oversized igloo. Besides the large round form covered in snow you couldn’t see anything else. You squealed in excitement.
As soon as San parked the car, you opened the car door ready to jump out, only to quickly shut it close again. With wide eyes and shoulders drawn up to your ears you turned around to San. “It’s freaking cold outside!”
He laughed and leaned to the backseats, grabbing your jacket and his own. “Of course it is, dummy. It’s below freezing point.”
You grinned and put on your jacket, scrunching your nose slightly at his playful insult. Once the jacket was wrapped tightly around your body, you tried stepping out of the car again. It was still extremely cold and you were sure your cheeks already turned numb from the few seconds you stood outside.
“Uuuuugggghhh, so cold”, you shivered and waddled over to the trunk, waiting for San to pull out all your luggage. You quickly grabbed as much as you could and made your way to the front door.
Now that you were closer, you could see the entrance. A simple black door led you into a short hallway and later into the round cupola. Where a cosy living room and an open kitchen greeted you.
“Wow”, you whispered, overwhelmed by how nice everything looked. You wanted to explore even the smallest edge within this house and take everything in. You had never been in a hotel like this before.
“Do you like it?” San asked, placing the luggage next to the couch. He walked over to a small fireplace, quickly starting a fire to make the room warmer.
“Like it? Are you kidding? I love it!” You exclaimed, shrugging off your outdoor clothes now that it got warmer.
You quickly settled in, using the last sun rays of the day to unpack your luggage. Once you finished that it was already time for dinner. Together with San you prepared something simple, both of you too tired after a long time travelling to do anything more.
Time always seemed to pass quickly with San. You snuggled up to him on the couch, full after the meal and with an interesting book in your hand. The fire quietly crackled within the fireplace, keeping you warm and cosy.
Too immersed in the story of your book, you didn’t notice how San glanced at his watch several times throughout the evening. Only when he started to get restless, his leg shaking slightly and making it impossible for you to read as your head had been resting in his lap, you noticed.
“What’s wrong?” You closed the book and placed it on the small coffee table in front of you, looking up to San.
“Nothing.”
You raised an eyebrow, not believing him at all.
“It’s just pretty late already, isn’t it?” He once again glanced at his watch, holding it perfectly for you to see the time as well.
Confused, you turned your gaze back to San. Normally he stayed awake until the early hours of the next morning. Almost midnight couldn’t be late in his eyes. “Do you want to go to bed?” You asked, musing that was his underlying message after all.
“Yes!” He jumped up, letting you fall with an oof onto the couch. “Let’s go to bed!”
“Both of us?” Now you were completely confused. You had basically adapted to his sleeping pattern and even though the day had been tiring you didn’t feel like you could sleep anytime soon.
“Yes, both of us.”
With that San lifted you and carried you across the living room to another simple door. Once again you passed a small hallway until you reached another cupola, a smaller one this time.
The bedroom was simple. A few low dressers standing at the sides and one large bed in the middle of the room.
San dropped you on the mattress, making you laugh. “I’ve never seen you so eager to get to bed. What’s up? What am I missing?” You leaned up on your elbows and watched him flit around the room, seemingly preparing something.
“It’s another surprise.”
You raised your eyebrows in surprise, not having expected such an answer. “Any hint?” You teased, wanting to know more about this surprise.
“Put on your pyjamas and get cosy as fast as possible.”
That answer was once again not what you had expected but you followed his instructions nonetheless. You quickly made yourself ready for bed, snuggling into the sheets and waiting for San to come as well.
It didn’t take him long to join you, smiling gently at your expectant eyes. “Are you ready?” He breathed and pulled you close against himself.
You nodded eagerly, dying from curiosity.
San pressed a button and the room was suddenly filled with a steady hum. A few seconds later the roof suddenly started to move. What you had thought to be a solid roof started to split in half and folded itself together on either side.
You stared up to a roof made out of glass and nothing else. Amazed, your eyes flitted over the sky. Without any light pollution you saw so many stars. You quickly sat up again, too excited to lie down. “I’ve never seen so many stars in my life! This is so beautiful!”
“It really is.”
When you turned to San he was looking at you lovingly. You smiled and snuggled back against his side, trying to contain your excitement enough to lie down at least.
“I never knew the night could be so bright”, you whispered, afraid to break the magic when you spoke too loud.
“At least not like this”, San agreed and pressed his lips against your temple.
You gasped and pointed back to the sky. Within a few minutes a green band of light had appeared in the sky, dancing like living flames over the night sky. The thin band started to spread, covering nearly everything in sight, and made it seem as if the sky were caught in flames.
Just like a small spark would light a puddle of fuel, the flames spreading from one point over the whole surface, the lights did the same in the sky.
The different intensity of the colours made it seem three dimensional and closer than it really was. Your mind told you, you just had to stretch your hand out to be able to touch it.
“The aurora is more beautiful in nature than any video I ever saw.”
San hummed in agreement and pressed you close into his side. “I’m glad we can see it. I was afraid I couldn’t show you this.”
You turned to San and cupped his cheek. “Being here with you underneath the night sky, aurora or not, is more than enough for me. But thank you for trying so much to make this happen.” You leaned forward and quickly kissed his lips, smiling gently.
With the aurora shining brightly above you and the warmth of San’s arms engulfing you, you forgot about the time and everything around you. Right now, this moment was the only thing that mattered.
San, you and the most beautiful natural phenomenon. That was more than you could have ever wished for to be happy.

Hot &Cold
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jung Wooyoung (Ateez) x Fem!Reader; Genre: Fantasy AU, Fluff, Humour, a little Angst; Rating: sfw, PG-13; Warnings: the reader is slightly panicky, mentions of nudity, Wooyoung sneaks to the female side of the hot springs, he falls face first into water; Wordcount: 1.894; Event: Winter Hearts from kdiarynet; Prompt: Number 11 - “Snowing at the hot springs”
Summary: At first you wanted to decline Wooyoung’s offer to visit the hot springs together. Only the prospect of having separated hot springs for men and women changed your decision. Not that you wouldn’t want to share it with him, but keeping your secret felt more important. But, how save was your secret with Wooyoung being his typical sneaky self.
A/N: I did binge watch H2O just recently... so yeeeesssss I got inspired! I thought it is a very fun concept.. turning into mermaids by contact of water on skin. So yessss tada!
Tumblr media
“Trust me, we’ve got the whole inn for us! My aunt hasn’t opened it yet and begged me to get some people and try it. She wants our honest opinion on everything,” Wooyoung told everyone, for you don’t know how many times now.
You shot him a strained smile when he turned from the passenger seat around and looked at you and the others.
You didn’t even know how you got into this situation in the first place. Eight men and you were all shoved into a van and currently driving towards that inn, Wooyoung told you about. He initially planned to go with the guys and have a boys week but apparently his aunt wanted to have at least one female being with her. And that’s how Wooyoung came to the conclusion to drag you with him.
At first you didn’t mind it until he told you about the hot springs. You had immediately refused to come since you knew you would get in trouble near water and the boys. But Wooyoung insisted and only after he told you there were separate hot springs for men and women, you agreed to tag along.
It was a cosy small inn, you thought when Seonghwa parked the van in front of the entrance. A small porch surrounded seemingly the whole building, benches and chairs standing in each corner to offer a place to sit.
“Auntie!” Wooyoung screamed loudly as he stepped out of the car and walked a few steps up to the porch.
“You’re as loud as ever”, she chided as she opened the door and immediately pulled him into a hug. “It’s so good to see you again. Look how tall you got!” She pinched his cheek and mustered him from head to toe. “Should definitely come over more often!”
Wooyoung laughed and stepped aside, introducing everyone to his aunt, who greeted them the same way she greeted Wooyoung; with a big hug and some sweet words.
You could see how Yunho and San wrapped themselves happily around the smaller woman's body, loving hugs and cuddles more than anything else.
“How about you kids start to settle in while I make some tea for all of us? After that you can explore the inn and try everything before dinner. Does that sound good to you?” The woman said and smiled gently, showing teeth once the guys answered her enthusiastically.
The afternoon rolled around quickly with unpacking your luggage, the delicious tea and cookies from Wooyoung’s aunt as well as exploring the inn. As soon as you had found the ping pong table all of you had surrounded it and played against each other until dinner was ready.
You dreaded the moment one of them would bring up the hot spring, hoping they might be too tired to think about it. But luck wasn’t on your side.
“If you want you can go to the hot springs now”, the older woman said while cleaning the table, “it’s about to snow soon, which makes it almost magical.”
A pained smile appeared on your lips when she looked up at you. Yeah, magical, you thought. “I feel tired, so I think I’ll head to bed”, you mumbled and faked a yawn. “Have fun at the hot springs.”
“Forget that, this instant!”
“What?” You turned around with wide eyes at Wooyoung’s outburst.
“You’re coming with us! The hot spring is exactly what we need after the long ride!” He grabbed your hand and dragged you once again along, the others following the both of you with silent snickers.
Wooyoung opened the door to the changing room for females and pushed you inside, leaning his head in and whispering “see you in a bit”, before he closed the door again.
You heard them get into the changing room for men right beside you, hearing their loud banters and excited laughs.
“What do you mean with ‘in a bit’?” You worried, gnawing on your lower lip. Hopefully he meant seeing you after the dip into the hot springs. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, trying to ease your nerves. Still, you walked with tense shoulders outside, clutching the towel tightly around your body.
A tall wooden wall separated your side from the boys, making you calm down slightly. There was no way one of them could sneak a glance at you with that wall.
You turned your gaze towards the hot spring itself. Large rocks were draped around the hot water and steam spiralled into the cold air.
A smile graced your lips and you placed the towel near the spot where you walked into the water. You sunk down until only your head would have been seen. As soon as you settled down you felt the familiar tingle through your body, small bubbles rippling through the water from the change.
When you lifted your lower body slightly a fin and long tail appeared at the surface instead of your legs and feet.
As long as Wooyoung’s aunt wouldn’t join you, you thought you were safe to relax a little.
That was until you heard the harsh whispers from the other side of the wall. “Wooyoung!” “You can’t do that!” “Are you crazy?!” “What if your aunt finds out?”
“Oh, just be quiet and relax!” Wooyoung quipped, climbing up the wooden wall. He swung his leg over the top and breathed out in relief. For a moment he just sat on top of the wall, glancing down to both sides.
While he saw his friends all standing in or out of the hot spring, staring up at him, he couldn’t see you anywhere. He frowned slightly since he was sure he heard you walk out. “Y/N?” He whispered loudly, trying to find you within the steam.
“What are you doing?” You whispered harshly back, staring in fear up at his form. You had pushed yourself into the furthest corner, hoping to stay completely hidden from his eyes.
“Joining you!”
“Are you crazy?”
“Don’t be a puss! I have my swimming shorts on and I don’t want you to be alone!” He told you, when a shiver ran over his body. The air was colder than he expected, so instead of waiting for your answer he climbed down on your side.
You panicked. “But I don’t have any clothes on!”
“Relax, I’ll stay at the other side of the hot spring! And there is enough steam so I won’t see anything.”
This didn’t calm you at all. After all, the hot spring wasn’t that large and you knew your tail took up a lot of space in it. “I swear to god, Wooyoung, please!”
It was too late. Wooyoung landed on your side and quickly rushed into the water, trying to warm his quivering body again. “See? It’s totally fine.” He still looked around, trying to find your form within all the steam.
“Please”, you begged on the verge of tears. He was too damn close and you didn’t want him to find out, too afraid you would lose your friendship with him and the others.
Hearing your distress, Wooyoung tensed. Something was wrong, he could tell, but he couldn’t fathom what exactly. He already saw you once nearly naked when you had forgotten to take new clothes with you into the bathroom at his place. This couldn’t be it.
He slowly walked over to where he mused you were hidden. “What’s wrong?” He whispered, this time silent enough so only you would be able to hear him.
“Please, don’t.”
“Y/N? What’s wrong?”
That was the moment he collided with your tail and fell face first into the steaming hot water. Wooyoung pushed himself back up, gasping loudly for air.
“Did something happen?” The concerned voice of Seonghwa shouted over to your side.
“I just slipped!” Wooyoung answered. “Everything is fine!”
But in reality nothing was fine. He had used your tail to push himself back up, his hands still resting on it. He slowly let his hands wander, amazed by the feeling it gave him. This wasn’t just a simple stone. Before Wooyoung was able to touch more it was forcefully pulled out of his hands.
“Y/N?”
“I’m sorry”, you whimpered quietly, trying to keep your tail as far away from him as possible.
Wooyoung quickly followed your whimpers until he found you pressed against the rocks with your back facing him.
The steam cleared slightly and he caught sight of the scales that were sparsely spread over your back and got more and more the lower his gaze wandered. Wooyoung gulped visibly when his eyes landed on your large tail, half hidden underneath the water.
“Woah”, he exclaimed loudly before he could think, alarming the others again.
You flinched visibly when they called again, asking what happened.
Wooyoung saw you trembling violently, hiding your face away from him in your hands. He quickly looked around, trying to find some sort of excuse why he sounded so stunned. In his search he looked up, seeing snowflakes falling to earth. They melted from the hot steam before they could reach the water surface.
“It’s snowing!” Wooyoung called, pointing into the air, even though his friends couldn’t see it. “Auntie was right about the snow! Just look! That’s amazing!”
As soon as he heard the stunned awes and uhs, he crouched down next to you in the water, letting himself sink into it until his whole body was covered up to his chin. “I’m sorry”, he whispered and watched your reaction carefully.
You tensed shortly and sank deeper into the water as well before you turned around and looked at Wooyoung with wide eyes.
“Is that the reason why you never joined any pool party or only went to the ocean swimming when everyone else was sleeping?” He asked and nodded towards your tail without breaking eye contact with you.
You nodded, still stunned to silence.
Wooyoung looked at you, sadness clouding his entire face. “You must have felt so lonely.”
Once again you hadn’t expected to hear him say something like that. You couldn’t help yourself but to nod again.
“You could have told me. Told all of us. You’re like family and we would have been with you!”
“I was afraid”, you whispered, blinking away some stray tears, “I still am.”
“There is no need to be afraid but I understand.” Wooyoung nodded and opened his arms, indicating you were safe with him. “We can keep it a secret for now. We should reveal it though, maybe during our next beach holiday.”
You chuckled lightly, making Wooyoung grin triumphantly. “Thank you”, you whispered and pushed yourself into his arms, hugging him tightly.
“No need to thank me for that. Let’s relax for now and enjoy the first snowfall.”
You nodded and turned just a little, leaning your head against his shoulder to look up into the sky. Slowly all your fear and nervousness dissipated, just like the snowflakes above you. Within Wooyoung’s arms you felt somewhat secure as if nothing could harm you. A small smile spread over your lips and you snuggled closer against Wooyoung.
“I will bombard you with questions later though.”
You snickered and nodded shortly. “That’s okay.” For now both of you just enjoyed the spectacle above your heads. It was truly magical, just like his aunt had said.

Matching
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jung Yunho (Ateez) x GN!Reader; Genre: Slice of life, Fluff, Romance, Humour; Rating: sfw, PG-13; Warnings: mentions of alcohol, mentions of people getting wasted, one soft curse word; Wordcount: 1.451; Event: Winter Hearts from kdiarynet; Prompt: Number 9 - “Matching sweaters”
Summary: During a holiday party the host announced an interesting game to their guests. Everyone had to pull out sweaters of a bag, searching for the matching other. To your surprise your long time crush pulls out the sweater that matches yours and of course your friends had to tease you about it.
Tumblr media
“Tonight is the night!”
“The night of all nights!”
“What are you two talking about?” You giggled as San and Wooyoung appeared next to you on either side, grinning mischievously.
“Don’t play dumb”, Wooyoung chided you and nudged his arm into your side, “this party is a change for you.”
You scoffed at them and shook your head. “Please don’t do anything to embarrass me.”
San gasped in mock offence, clutching a hand over his chest and staring at you with wide eyes. “We would never!”
They left you alone in the kitchen again before you were even able to say something else. Perplexed, you watched them leave, hearing their giggles even after they vanished from your sight.
This couldn’t be good.
Maybe you should take the wind out of their sails and be straight forward tonight. No, who were you kidding. You could never just walk up to your crush and tell him you liked him. You even had trouble saying a complete sentence in front of him. Maybe you just had to pray you would survive this party without making a fool out of yourself.
You survived quite well until you saw San and Wooyoung whispering something to Mingi, while holding two big brown bags in their hands. You tried ignoring them but you couldn’t shake off your bad feeling.
And you were right when those two walked straight up to you and the little group you had been interacting with.
“Hello fellow party people”, Wooyoung grinned and winked at someone.
“We are here to introduce you to a fun little game.”
“Uhhh, I love games”, Naeun declared after San’s proposition and eagerly hopped up and down on her feet.
“That’s the spirit!” San laughed brightly. “The game is simple, you just have to close your eyes, grab into this bag and pull something out.”
“That sounds naughty”, you commented with tight lips.
“You just have to pull out a sweater and put it on. Never thought you were this dirty minded, Y/N.”
You bit on your lower lip, preventing yourself from saying anything else. Instead you closed your eyes and grabbed a sweater out of the bag.
“Are those couple sweaters?” Naeun asked, scanning the one she had pulled out.
“Matching sweaters, yeah, we don’t force you to become a couple with your destined partner,” Wooyoung answered with a huge grin, which made your heart drop to your feet.
“Now, put on your sweater and hopefully you will find your partners during the party,” San added with a nod, ready to go.
“You make it sound like it will take us hours to find the matching sweater. We’re, what, thirty people?”
“Don’t question the game and put on your sweater, Y/N.”
You scoffed and watched San and Wooyoung approaching the next group. Reluctantly you put the sweater on, looking down on the little picture right on your chest. A little female stick-figure with a magnet.
You looked back up and mustered the sweaters of your little group. None of theirs were matching yours. You saw one with half an avocado asking for cuddles, one with a salt shaker and Naeun had a sweater with the lettering ‘but I do’ on it.
“This is exciting”, she squealed and scanned the sweaters of the group as well, “if you’d excuse me, I need to find my matching partner!”
You watched her skip away, stopping everyone with a sweater. “This is ridiculous”, you mumbled to yourself, seeing the rest of the group dispersed as well on their search for their partner.
With a scowl and your arms crossed in front of your chest, you stayed where you were, leaning against a wall and observing the party goers, who tried finding their other half.
You watched Wooyoung and Hongjoong, both with matching sweaters, holler every time their paths crossed. Hongjoong wearing a sweater with the lettering ‘beast’ and Wooyoung wearing the matching one with ‘beauty’ written on it.
It was somewhat cute seeing them bump into each other every now and then, hear them cheer, see them take a shot and then go on their separate ways again.
“Aren’t you searching for your other half?” San asked, appearing out of nowhere next to you.
“No.”
“Oh, your matching partner would be devastated if he never found you.”
“How do you know my matching partner is male?” You turned with a raised eyebrow to your best friend, your gaze shortly dropping to his own sweater before you stared back into his eyes. Sadly his sweater had a pizza with a missing piece on it.
San shrugged with his shoulders. “Just a hunch, I guess.” He looked through the crowd for a while, smiling happily. “It’s somewhat funny seeing people interacting that never spoke with each other before despite a short hello.”
You hummed and turned your gaze back to the others as well. Your gaze landed on Yunho, which wasn’t that hard with his height, but when you saw his sweater you froze.
“Hey, I think I found your matching partner!” San exclaimed and pointed straight at Yunho. “What a coincidence!”
You couldn’t help yourself but stare at the little male stick-figure that seemingly got pulled somewhere through his heart.
“This isn’t a coincidence, is it? You and Wooyoung planned this from the very beginning didn’t you?” You whispered, feeling your hands getting clammy and your throat tightening.
Yunho had noticed San pointing at him, his gaze automatically turning to you right next to him. His eyes shortly wandered downwards and a huge smile spread on his face. He excused himself and walked with large steps towards you.
You gasped slightly and stopped breathing all together, seeing him coming closer.
“That’s your chance, Y/N. Take it!” San whispered into your ear before he waved goodbye and left you there alone. Well with Yunho, but alone with Yunho. Alone with your crush.
“I think you might be my matching sweater?” He greeted you with a shy smile and an adorable head tilt.
You looked down at his sweater, to yours, back to his and up to his face again before you hesitantly nodded.
His smile got wider. “I’m glad you agree with me, Y/N.”
Your head began spinning around and you finally exhaled again. Yunho knew your name. He even said your name and he was talking with you. You could swear you might faint any minute now.
“I must admit I have no idea what we’re supposed to do once we found our partner.” Yunho rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment. “Do you know what we have to do? I hope you have listened more closely to the instructions than I have.”
You shook your head, still not really able to say a word.
“Ah, I see.”
An awkward silence fell over the both of you, where you tried avoiding as much eye contact as possible and desperately searched for something you could say.
You heard Wooyoung and Hongjoong cheer loudly again. Biting on your lower lip, you leaned a little to one side and watched them take another shot. “They drink.”
“Hmm?” Yunho piped up at your words and followed your gaze, seeing two of his friends slowly but surely getting wasted. “Oh yeah, you think we should take a shot as well?”
“No, no, no,” you quickly said, waving your hands helplessly in front of you. “I’m not really a fan of shots.”
Yunho chuckled lowly and nodded. “Yeah, getting wasted is not a very good first impression.”
“Your first impression is already way over incredible”, you mumbled, intending to keep those words more to yourself but Yunho heard you.
“Really? I thought you didn’t even know who I was.”
“What?”
He chuckled again. “Sometimes it felt like you were straight up avoiding me. But I didn’t want to assume anything.”
Your eyes widened in shock, realising how your fidgety behaviour around your crush a.k.a him must have looked like. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to, shit.”
You got cut off by Yunho leaning down and placing a soft kiss on your cheek. “You’re cute when you start rambling.”
“I.. uh..”
“How about we get one drink and find a place to get to know each other? I’m intrigued to hear why you tried avoiding me.” A smirk spread over Yunho’s lips before it got immediately replaced with his playful grin.
You nodded, once again stunned into silence, especially since Yunho grabbed your hand and pulled you along, rubbing small circles over the back of your hand.
Maybe San and Wooyoung were right. Maybe this was the night of the night and your chance to get closer to Yunho.

Burnt marshmallows
Tumblr media
Pairing: Choi Jongho (Ateez) x Reader; Genre: Fantasy AU, Fluff; Rating: sfw, PG-13; Warnings: a lot of smoke; Wordcount: 1.103; Event: Winter Hearts from kdiarynet; Prompt: Number 28 - “Roasting marshmallows”
Summary: You called Jongho lovingly your little fire cracker, since he often underestimated his own power and set things aflame. Trying to help him get used to them, you searched for every chance you could get to let him use these powers. This time roasting marshmallows.
Tumblr media
You drove back the long and empty dirt road to your farm, having bought new essentials for the month from the nearest market. You hummed silently along to a song, thrumming your fingertips on the steering wheel along to the rhythm, when you suddenly saw the huge cloud of dark, thick smoke coming from your house.
Alarmed, you stepped on the gas pedal and sped over the road, ignoring potholes or branches. This wasn’t a good sign, especially not with so much smoke.
You had left Jongho alone at home, letting him promise to you he wouldn’t try any stunts within the house. As a firepower wielder he still had to learn how to control it, often burning down something in the process. Therefore you had fire extinguisher in absolutely every room, never more than two steps away from where you were. Always ready to use them when Jongho set something in flames.
This time though you haven’t been there and you feared for the worst. Maybe Jongho wanted to try something, always eager and wanting to surprise or make you proud. Maybe something went terribly wrong and he panicked. Maybe he didn’t think of putting out the flames and it escalated. Maybe he was still in there!
Even though the flames couldn’t hurt him, the smoke still could.
You parked the car in front of the house and ran inside, immediately clutching your arm in front of your mouth and nose. “Jongho?” You coughed violently, barely able to see anything through all the smoke. “Jongho? Where are you?”
Suddenly something or rather someone collided with you and pulled you back outside. “Are you crazy? You shouldn’t have gone in there!” Jongho fumed in anger, ignoring how you bent over from coughing so hard.
With tears in your eyes you forced yourself back up, patting over his chest and cheeks in relief. “You’re alright”, you whispered with a small smile, “nothing hurts right?”
“Of course I’m not hurt”, he clicked with his tongue and rolled his eyes, pretending to be strong. Even though you could see the relief shining in his eyes now that you were finally back.
You shortly glanced behind him, watching the smoke still wafting out of every open window. “What happened?”
Jongho stepped from one foot to the other, rubbing the back of his neck and avoiding your questioning eyes. “I wanted to surprise you.”
There you had it. Just as you thought. But before you were able to question him about what he had tried this time, Jongho spoke up again. “I wanted to make cookies but I made a mistake and didn’t notice it until a few minutes ago because I fell asleep.”
You blinked at him wordlessly before you started to coo and pinch his cheek. “That’s really sweet of you! So except for the cookies nothing is burnt?”
He shook his head, confirming your question silently. With his lips pressed into a thin line he turned back to the house as well. “I don’t think we’re able to get back in there for a while.”
“Yeah”, you agreed and stared at the thick clouds of smoke. It sure would take a while until everything would be cleared. Though just standing in front of the porch and waiting until it cleared, wasn’t your style. “I actually intended to do this with you later in the evening but since we can’t get inside, this would be nice to fill up the time.”
“What?” Jongho questioned you and turned back to you with a raised eyebrow and a suspicious glint in his eyes.
You grinned brightly and walked back to the car, opening the door to the passenger seat where you pulled out several packages full of marshmallows. “Let’s roast some of these!”
He sighed but shrugged with his shoulders. “Fine with me, I’ll get some firewood.”
“That won’t be needed”, you stopped him before Jongho could leave, “you are going to roast these. It helps you to control your powers.”
“You want me to roast marshmallows?” He asked incredulously.
“Yes.”
“With my powers?”
“Yes.”
“Why do I even ask?”
You grinned triumphantly, closing the car door right after you got everything, and walked over to the steps of the porch. You sat down and placed most of the packages in front of you, leaving one, which you ripped open. Sticking a few marshmallows on a metal stick, you handed it to Jongho waiting patiently for him to do his work.
He sighed deeply before he held his free hand underneath the marshmallows and stared at them intently.
A small spark erupted in his hand, flying through the air until it stopped glowing. You watched him with a small smile, seeing how his hand seemed to turn into liquid from the heat he was channelling there.
With a loud whoosh huge flames shot out of the palm of his hands, letting the marshmallows disappear from your sight momentarily. As fast as the flames came as fast did they vanish again, leaving a glowing metal stick and black crumbs where the marshmallows had been just seconds ago.
You snickered and prepared the next stick, handing this one to Jongho after he placed the still glowing one on the ground to let it cool again.
He did the same as before, concentrating on the marshmallows, channelling his power and releasing a flame. Not as bright and hot as before but still strong.
“Better”, you commented and took the stick out of his hand, pulling with two fingers at the black crust of one marshmallow. Underneath you discovered the white fluffy treat. “You know, between the burnt and the raw part, it actually tastes amazing”, you grin and stuff a little of the marshmallow into your mouth, licking your fingers afterwards.
“Don’t eat those!” Jongho grabbed the stick again, burning the marshmallows whole so you wouldn’t try eating them again. “Give me another one.”
You didn’t count how many marshmallows he actually burnt. That wasn’t important. Instead you focused on how he actually got better with each try. The flames got smaller and Jongho even lowered the heat of his fire.
“Here! I did it”, he exclaimed with excitement holding the stick with perfectly golden brown roasted marshmallows in front of your face. “Try one!”
A smile crept up your face and you picked at one of the treats, moaning in delight when the sweet sugary taste with that slight smokey note engulfed your senses. “Mhm, the best roasted marshmallows I ever had.”
Jongho grinned at you, proud to hear such a compliment from you. “I’m gonna roast a few more.”

Summary: You wanted to leave the country before the snow got too much for you. Sadly you missed the chance to leave and were trapped in your own home. Hongjoong, who felt bad for you, decided to bring your original destination to you and turned the whole apartment upside down.

“Come on! Hurry, hurry, hurry!” You yelled while you stuffed the last things into your purse.
You couldn’t believe both of you had overslept. Well, actually you could, which was the reason to begin with why you wanted to leave yesterday evening, but your sweet, sweet Hongjoong convinced you to stay one more night.
“Almost ready! Give me one more second.”
You heard him stumble through the house, wondering what he was doing. But you didn’t question it. “If you’re not ready when I’m opening the front door, I’m going to leave without you!”
Hongjoong made some noise, which sounded closely like a screech and a “hell no”, before the rumbling got even louder.
With a roll of your eyes you turned back around and started getting dressed. You even did it in slow motion giving him a little more time. The minute you put on your hat, Hongjoong stumbled into the hallway with his suitcase, looking totally frazzled. “You made it.” You grinned mischievously before you grabbed your own stuff and walked over to the front door.
When you opened it a strong gust of wind greeted you, hurling thick snowflakes into your face and into the house. You gasped and immediately closed the door again.
You dropped your stuff and ran to the nearest window, pushing the curtains away and staring outside. This couldn’t be true.
Instead of your front yard and the driveway you only saw white and grey flurrying through the air, making it hard to see further than a metre.
Once you had woken up and noticed you overslept, you were in such a panic and hurry that you totally forgot to check the weather. You were pretty sure the night before it had only been a few snowflakes and they didn’t even stay on the ground. But now, there was no way the both of you could leave the house at all.
Hongjoong stepped next to you. His eyes widened in awe and you even heard him breathe a silent “wow”. “I can’t remember the last time I saw a crazy snow storm like this.”
“Me neither”, you scoffed, crossing your arms in front of your chest, “because I usually leave the country before I get snowed in and am stuck for who knows how long.” You sighed and stepped away from the window, already pulling off your scarf and gloves. “Bye, bye warm sun, long beaches, blue water and cocktail bars. Not gonna see you this year. If you need anything, I’m back in bed.”
Hongjoong watched you trot back into the hallway and back up the stairs towards your shared bedroom. Guilt started to well up inside his stomach, feeling somewhat responsible for the fact that both of you couldn’t be where you had planned to be. Knowing he couldn’t change the weather, Hongjoong thought deeply, searching for another solution.
While you had curled back under the blanket and silently yearned for the warmth of the sun on your skin while you played in knee-deep water, you heard Hongjoong rummaging through the house again. You heard him huffing and grunting, accompanied by the occasional rumble because something fell to the floor, but you couldn’t care less.
Even though you knew it was irrational, you somehow felt a little angry with him, thinking it was kind of his fault the both of you were stuck in your own house. You sighed and turned around, trying to blend out the noises Hongjoong made.
Hours later you heard a small knock on the door before Hongjoong came in and sat down on the edge of the mattress. “I’m sorry we couldn’t make it out in time.”
You turned around to look at him with a small pout. “You can’t control the weather”, you simply stated with a shrug of your shoulders.
“I think I actually can control it a little.” On Hongjoong’s lips appeared a huge grin. Large enough that his eyes almost disappeared because the apples of his cheeks pushed up so far.
You frowned with confusion. “How can you, what?”
“Please get dressed with your favourite summer outfit and meet me at the bottom of the stairs as soon as you are ready.” Hongjoong leaned forward and placed a quick kiss on your forehead before he walked back out of the room, leaving you stunned.
Even though you questioned his instructions, you did as you were told and changed your outfits before you walked down the stairs.
Hongjoong waited for you, smiling widely up to you. “Welcome to your personal and very own tropical oasis.”
You blinked confused before you finally looked around, seeing the entrance to the living room had some sort of curtain, which was made of dozens of strings, hung over it.
Hesitantly you walked over to it, stopping right in front. One of your hands hovered over the material, uncertain of your next move. The curiosity got the better of you and you pushed your hand through several strings to divide the curtain and walk through.
You gasped in surprise, not recognizing your own living room. All the furniture except for the couch had been pushed aside, all the curtains were drawn and a beach scene got projected on the wall behind the couch. There was even this one lamp with a sun cut-out around it, standing in one corner of the room.
You stumbled forward, trying to take everything in at once, when Hongjoong pulled you back again. Confused, you turned around, but he just smiled and pointed at something towards your feet. Your gaze followed his finger and you realised you had nearly fallen into a baby pool filled with blue coloured water.
“What is all this?” You asked, only now hearing some distant sounds of waves and tropical birds singing.
“As I told you, your tropical oasis. Would you like a fruit cocktail?” Hongjoong smiled and walked over to a table with several things on it.
“A fruit cocktail? We had no fruit in the house.”
“Sorry about that”, Hongjoong said bashfully, “I had to use canned fruit and not fresh ones but I hope you will still like it.” He came back over to you and handed you a glass.
“You did all of this for me?” You asked, tears welling up in your eyes. Nobody had gone this far to do something for you ever before.
“Of course I did. Though I hope you'll let me into the pool as well.”
“Yes! Yes, absolutely!” You nearly crushed Hongjoong with a hug, feeling more than grateful for his effort.
Hongjoong smiled in relief and hugged you back. “Wonderful, you’re going to love my steak tropicana I will create for you tonight. I suggest a Hawaii 5.0 marathon until then to get even more into the tropical feel.”
You giggled and nodded, agreeing with his choice, before you sat down on the couch. Maybe it wasn’t so bad that you couldn’t leave the country after all.

Cinnamon Love
Tumblr media
Pairing: Song Mingi (Ateez) x GN!Reader; Genre: Fantasy AU, Fluff, s2l, slight Romance; Rating: sfw, PG-13; Warnings: mentions of past bullying; Wordcount: 1.094; Event: Winter Hearts from kdiarynet; Prompt: Number 7 - “The smell of cinnamon”
Summary: Whenever Mingi met you on accident a swift wave of cinnamon filled his senses. Intrigued by the person next door, who he associated with the scent of cinnamon by now, he wanted to know more about you.
Tumblr media
When Mingi moved into his new apartment he had met almost everyone of his new neighbours, except for the one right next to his own. Instead he only smelled the scent of cinnamon whenever he passed the door.
He had thought it was a one time occurrence but the longer he lived there he noticed the scent never vanished. Every day he passed that door his nose picked up that scent.
Sometimes when he stood on his balcony or when he opened his window the scent of cinnamon even wafted into his own apartment.
The more time passed the stronger the urge getting to know the person behind the cinnamon scent became.
Though he couldn’t just walk over and knock at the door, saying he got curious and wanted to know the reason behind the excessive scent. Maybe he could but something inside of him told him it would be an embarrassing first meeting. And even though he didn’t know who lived in the apartment next to his own, he wanted to make a good first impression.
The first time he actually saw a glimpse of his neighbour was weeks later. Mingi had walked past the elevator and caught a swift scent of the cinnamon again. Without hesitation he stumbled back, seeing the doors closing. He was too shocked to really react. The glimpse of the person within the elevators freezing him on the spot.
When he finally came to himself again, it was too late. The elevator had already reached the ground level and it would be in vain for him to run down. Still, for a second he considered doing exactly that.
The next time he met this mysterious neighbour was a week later. The elevator was out of order for a reason he didn’t catch, so Mingi had to take the stairs.
He hurried down, taking two steps at a time when he nearly ran into someone. At the last second he came to a halt.
You on the other hand weren’t aware of his presence, carrying two heavy packages that blocked your view and listening to music over some headphones. You even hummed along to the melody, making it impossible to hear him approach. Therefore you bumped into him and immediately stumbled back, losing your balance.
Mingi reacted just in time and grabbed your arms, pulling you against his own form.
Even though you still held on to the packages and they blocked your view, Mingi smelled the familiar scent again.
“You”, he breathed and his grip tightened slightly around your arms.
“Me?”
“You’re the one living next door to me.”
“Oh?” You raised an eyebrow and tried stepping away from him, so you could place down the packages and see him properly, but he held you too tightly. “Sorry?”
Mingi let go of your arms and apologised to you, a shy grin on his lips. He waited for you to place the packages down and take the headphones off before he spoke up again. “You’re my neighbour! The one with the cinnamon scent.”
He immediately bit down on his lower lip, wishing to slap himself because he mentioned the one thing he didn’t want to say during the first meeting.
A stone fell from his heart when he heard you giggle and a brief introduction of yourself. He smiled when he heard your name and repeated it silently, the smile on his lips widening even more now. “I’m Mingi by the way.”
You nodded and smiled at him. For a while both of you stood silently in front of each other, staring everywhere but the person in front of you. “I should keep going”, you whispered, about to pick up the packages again.
“Do you need help with those?”
You looked back up at him, blinking a few times in confusion. “Don’t you need to be somewhere?”
Mingi glanced at the screen of his mobile phone before he shook his head. “Nah, I got time.” Without waiting for your answer he picked up the packages and started taking the stairs again, shortly calling for you when you didn’t move at first.
You chuckled and followed him, shaking your head slightly and finally ascending the stairs as well. You quietly watched his broad back and sneaked a peek at his ass before your eyes quickly diverted again.
“Thanks for helping me”, you whispered and opened the door to your apartment, “I can take it from here.” You were hesitant about letting him inside of your home, knowing most people freaked out whenever they learned about your lifestyle.
“I don’t mind carrying it to the place where you need it.”
You gnawed on your lower lip, thinking of an option why he couldn’t come in but before you could say something Mingi already rounded you and pressed the door open with his shoulder.
“Wait!”
Mingi didn’t listen to you and walked further inside, ignoring your calls completely. He immediately noticed the smell of cinnamon, which was even more intense than just the small amounts he had caught before.
You followed him, whining slightly when he didn’t listen and sighed desperately as soon as he placed the packages on your table in your living room. “Okay, thank you!”
Mingi looked around, taking in the living room. He had never seen something like this before. From the ceiling hung a bunch of dried herbs, various strange instruments stood around the place and signs he had never seen before hung on the walls. His gaze wandered around and landed on a thick leather bound book.
“Wow”, he whispered, turning around once again. “This is unbelievable.”
“Yeah”, you sighed, ready to hear his teasing.
“What do you need all this stuff for?”
You stilled, staring at him with wide eyes. You did not expect a question like this. “Uh.”
“Do you use all those herbs to bake stuff?”
“Not exactly”, you whispered, smiling sadly. “People would call me a witch, I guess.  Even though I don’t see myself as such.”
“Sorry to hear that.” Mingi stepped closer to you and placed one hand on your shoulder, squeezing it gently. “It must have been hard for you.”
You laughed dryly and shook your head. “Got used to it a long time ago. But why are you not humouring me?”
Mingi shrugged with his shoulders. “I think this is rather interesting. I’d actually like to learn more about this; about you,” he admitted with a shy grin and rubbed the back of his neck.
You smiled as well, tears brimming at your eyes. “I’m fine with that.”

PETALS OF YOU ( WOOHWA )
Tumblr media
0.8k angst, hanahaki!au / seonghwa x wooyoung / implied lower case, not proof read / hurt no comfort, pain experience, food mention, coughing up blood
[@kpopficsnetwork + @kpopscape + @k-dinernet + @atzinc + @ateezwritersnet]
Tumblr media
"wooyoung?"
the male looked at the small hallway covered in darkness as seonghwa revealed himself, stepping into the dim lighting. "oh.. hey," he replied, in a hoarse tone.
" 'hey'? " the older asked, walking towards him with his house slippers shuffling against the floor. he was sleeping when he heard the clacking of pots and pans from the kitchen. "we haven't seen you in days, how are you holding up?"
"i'm doing fine…" wooyoung stated, as a small cough followed. he hoped that seonghwa would leave him alone in the kitchen but he knew that he wouldn't, it was seonghwa after all.
"do you want me to cook something for you?" seonghwa spoke up after an uneasy amount of silence between the both. wooyoung shook his head as he ripped open a pack of ramen and putting the noodles inside a pot.
"i'm kind of hungry too, i'll stay and eat with you," the latter spoke, clearing his throat. wooyoung sighed, and brought his pot of ramen to the dining table. he wasn't looking forward to eat with another member considering that he looked like a mess.
it wasn't long after that seonghwa joined him at the table. he sat down in front of the member and took a whiff of his simple ramen, doing little claps. it was diet season for the boys as it was their comeback soon, but wooyoung decided that he should rest for a while. his manager warned him not to like anyone, especially because he was an idol now. but.. even he didn't call it love, not until flower petals and blood appeared in the palm of his hands one winter day.
"wooyoung- hii earth to wooyoung?" the boy snapped out of his trance and found out that he'd been staring at his food for too long, thank god seonghwa knocked him out of it.
"ah- im sorry, i was thinking of something."
"about your crush again?" the older asked, oblivious.
"well, you could say that," he replied, slurping his noodles beforehand.
a bit of time passed as they ate and chatted. it was nice of them to keep up with each other, even if it were just about the choreography or recordings. after all, it was the first time wooyoung had spoken to another member in weeks.
in the middle of their conversation though, wooyoung coughed up more blood and a flower petal. he held his chest tightly as the pain spread through his respiratory system. up to this point, only their manager had seen his bloody floral residue. seonghwa was speechless, and worried than ever before. "i'll get you some water."
as the older went to get a drink for him, he thought of wooyoung's love for the person he was hurting for. he must be righteous in love with the girl to be hurting this much for her. he knew wooyoung was not one to fall for someone this hard and so that girl must be really special to him. he just hopes that she would love him back before something major happened. seonghwa held the glass in hand just to return to an empty dining table.
he heard a door click into it's lock, it was from wooyoung's room. he went over to the simple white door and knocked on it slowly. "woo?" he called out in a whisper, hoping the latter would hear. silence. he knocked again. no answer.
"good night," seonghwa sighed, leaving the glass of water at the foot of the door before walking back to the kitchen to clean up the mess they left. while washing he could hear the door click once again. a smile appeared on his face, knowing that wooyoung at least knows how to survive for a bit more. before entering his shared room, he glanced at the latter's door frame and noticed a small yellow post it note on the bottom.
'good night, hyung. thank you, i love you.'
the older chuckled at the note. 'oh wooyoung, always so wholesome'
"i love you too," he expressed through the piece of wood that separated them.
wooyoung heard it, those four words as the door to their room clicked close. the youngster slid down the frame of his door, as tears welled up in his eyes. covering his mouth with his left hand, he silently shouted for his longing.
his breath trembled, causing the pain in his lungs to hurt more than he would want it to. as much as he wanted to fall out of it, he couldn't. something kept holding him back, maybe it was the way he was so caring or that he could always cheer him up? or maybe all of the above. he was spell-bound.
something that would confuse wooyoung is why his crush was never obvious that it was the older, especially because the petals he coughed up were from seonghwa's favourite flower.
