Today’s 10 Minutes A Day Workout includes static holds at the end of each weight set, aka Anabolic Stretching. Traditional stretching involves using your own bodyweight to stress your tissue. Anabolic stretching adds weights to the equation. This helps your body to adapt to strain, giving your muscles more power at their maximum flexed position. Holding and resisting weight at the end range of a movement, where your muscles are at a constant length, can dramatically speed up muscle growth, strength, and recovery. Add this finisher to your workouts and your body will become more flexible and stronger in much less time💪 This is one of the keys to why #sportyoga is such an efficient modality! Foot strength is a crucial aspect of athleticism. Beyond just doing calf and tibialis raises #sportyoga #weighteddonkeykicks develop the dynamic ability of the foot to activate the ankle-glute-stability connection. 🏋️‍♂️Without proper activations, compensations up the kinetic chain. Remember the kinetic chain starts at the foot! To activate and strengthen the foot, this Donkey Kick Asana is incredibly useful in helping to determine which link in your chain is missing. Does your foot roll in? Are you leaning to the outside of the foot and curling the big toe in? Do your knees collapse? This Sport Yoga Asana is an effective way to diagnose and correct the weakest links. Here, my goal is to keep my ankle rigid, toes lifted and weight equally distributed throughout my foot. Try the movement Stop where you fail Stay there until you figure out what movement you are missing Correct the movement Flow 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪 Most athletes will end up on a supinated (outward tilted) foot while the ankle loses all its tension.
