I’m so pissed that they didn’t give us more Natasha/Steve, I feel like she really pulled him out of his shell. Like it had so much potential, I wish we could’ve gotten more of their friendship and interactions. And their 2 years on the run, with Sam; I kinda feel like wanda was with them only half of the time 🤷🏻♀️
Yes!! They pulled one another out of their respective, different shells. I just rewatched Winter Soldier yesterday and the emotional vulnerability and honesty they show one another after arriving at Sam's is ridiculous. Natasha only comes close to that with Clint—the person who saw enough in her to offer her a second chance—and Steve confides like that with Peggy when he visits her—his love interest (who, interestingly enough, also tells him he has a second chance to live his life and should do so). They have so many parallels in their characters and form a camaraderie on a level with unspoken understanding that I'm not sure any other Avenger has with someone else.
I would have LOVED for more of them on the run. I understand the time constraints movies—especially action-packed, superhero movies—have to operate under, but damn it would have been nice.

is that zutara server even still active? last i heard a mod flipped out and banned half the people with little explanation
That's a very unsubstantiated rumor. There was an incident between a very small handful of people of very differing perspectives that included a lot of hearsay, and the few individuals who were bad faith actors were removed. The server is still very active and doing well.

Hi! Hoping all is well in the land of Atomic. Do you still write for the ATLA fandom?
I haven't had much time lately to actively write fanfic, but I have poked at a few things within the last year or so!
Most recently (last year), I finally finished my prompt piece from Zutara Month 2018, but I'll list out all my AtLA stuff just in case you wanted to peruse them to see if you hadn't read any, and if anyone else is interested in them.
Diplomatic Solution (finished) The Spirit's Waterbender (just a few scenes) Focus (oneshot) Sparks in the Library (oneshot) Just (WIP) Clemency (oneshot)
RPs with the Adamant Daughter (currently not in fandom, so these are all unfortunately unfinished: the villains that live in my bed Perfect Places bleeding gold
I also am sometimes over on my Zuko/AtLA tumblr @teaandcrowns
Thanks for stopping by and asking!

oh so the rumor about how you left in the person who was sexually harassing someone else is false? sure hope so
I'm not going to entertain anonymous pot-stirring. I suggest you go find some of your favorite fic to reread, game to play, movie to watch, book to read, etc., as a more productive way of spending your whatever time of day or night it is for you.
#anon#atomicreplies#bold of you to assume i have either the time or level of caring to engage in petty fandom drama

Hello, you're one of the mods for Spicy aren't you? I don't mean to sound rude but would there be a way to ask people to stop posting screenshots of their work and talking about their AO3 stats in the writing-is-hard channel when they aren't actually looking for help with writing? It's starting to turn into a self promotion channel and I think that it's stopping people from using it to ask for help because the chat is always on other things.
Hi Anon! I am one of the mods on there. I don't know when this was sent, as I don't come on this account much anymore, so I apologize if this is excruciatingly tardy in reply; I promise no one is ignoring you, I just haven't been on here and my email failed to notify me of this ask.
In order to keep what is more or less a closed community server's privacy intact, I'd request that if you're still having an issue with that, that you DM one of the mods on discord itself, and we will address the issue there.
Thanks!

Just wanted to mention that I found some of your work on ao3 and I think that you have an amazing writing style and you’re wicked good at what you do!
!!!
oh gosh hey hi there!
First of all, thank you for taking the time to send me a note on a different platform!
Secondly, I’m really glad you enjoyed my stuff I have up there! I’m working on getting even better and hope to sometime in the near-er-ish future have some original narrative* stuff out on some physical shelves!
also---uh, I’m sure you also noticed the embarrassing amount of WIPS on ao3; I have every intention of finishing those...... eventually.... but life’s a bitch and brains aren’t always cooperative. So thanks thirdly for reading unfishined stuff!
*i specify “narrative” because i actually have a self-published title of prose out that’s fairly different from my story-narrative style
#liv-freeordie#atomicreplies#dafadfads i haven't been on in forever and three days#this was fantastic to come back to#for the brief moment i am here

teryster replied to your post: Finally, at long last, broke 70,000 words in my...
So proud of you!! Updates like these make me very excited for projects AND motivated to work on my own, so I definitely enjoy reading your posts!! ♥ SO HYPE FOR THIS You’re writing your novel chronologically, correct? Can I ask, did the beggining feel easier to write than the later parts are?
hhhh!!!
I know the feeling of being motivated by friends’ moving on their projects!
And yes--I am writing it more or less mostly chronologically. I do have a few scenes here and there that are “out of order” from where I am in the narrative, but mostly this novel is a “growing” novel rather than a super plotted one. Which surprises me about myself, tbqh. I only have a bare bones, broad strokes idea of things, so I’m allowing the ins and outs of the plot sort of unravel as I go. I’ll write something, and it’ll flip a switch in my head of OH THAT’S WHERE THAT’S GOING or THAT’S WHAT I MEANT TO REFERENCE IN CH3, etc.
It’s hard to say if the beginning was easier to write than now? I had absolutely no idea of the broader picture back then, because I originally intended for it to be... a short story... so I only had “Main Character goes and does X” which then spooled out into a whole Thing, and now I’m in the entire second arc of a much bigger story.
If I were to solely go by how much at once/how often I was writing, the beginning went easier than now, as I wrote about 10k words in about a week. I was just following along on a relatively straightforward monster-hunting adventure then. Now, I’m delving into more difficult and deeper themes from the character’s background and starting to lay out the larger world and its plot, so it’s more complicated to balance giving information without info-dumping and without giving too much away, trying to not write myself into a corner etc.
But, a lot more dots are connecting now---there are also more dots just in general, so I can much more clearly see the larger picture of the story, its purpose, the main character’s drive (the surprise secondary character’s drive and part), the problem and how it needs to be resolved, the main character’s personal issues, and so on.
I definitely love the store more now than I originally did, because of knowing more about it and getting to delve deeper and deeper into characters, a world, and themes that I love and that mean a lot to me.
#teryster#atomicreplies#on writing#on original fiction#fasdfsdf!!! thank you for asking this omigosh

botherkupo replied to your post: I was tagged by @brotherkupo to post the first...
Ohhh I didn’t know you posted more stuff on AO3. I think I’m only following you on FFN.
yeah! I’m actually more on ao3 these days, as I like the layout and general user interface a lot more than ffnet. I still crosspost some things, but ffnet doesn’t have all the functionality that ao3 offers, especially linking stories together via series and adding a second author to the same work. So I definitely have more on ao3 than ffnet.

oh man thank you for answering tbh!!! ♥ this is so inspy and interesting to read through, really! i’m always ready to listen about different systems and process of creating, esp when it comes to stories bcs it’s a deep ocean full of weird shit and trying to make sense of it?? ANOTHER JOB ON TOP OF WRITING. I really dig that one of the characters just forced you to give them some own pov screentime that’s so GOOD :“D
I honestly LOVE worldbuilding, so it’s kind of the cherry on the cake for me (sometimes it’s way easier than the writing itself haha).
And yeah! This fella was really supposed to be a one-time, just barely had a name show, and now he’s got a whole sideplot and POV chapters that are gonna happen. Silly me for presuming to be in charge of where this thing is going.
