The Baudelaire family returned to Ireland the next day, only this time, they never had to worry about leaving.

Their new home had been abandoned years prior to them purchasing it and had been left vacant for quite some time after the previous family had fled those lands that had once been filled with such rich history. Overtime, the stories had been forgotten, perhaps almost purposely by those that occupied the neighborhood nowadays, existing only as children's fables or as myth.

One thing they did know though was that the land used to be a vegetable farm, quite a successful one too, and Lawrence intended to make it profitable once more. Already, the farm boys were put to work planting rows of cabbage, carrots and most notably, potatoes.

Hours of labor had gone into restoring the house to what it had once been before the family arrived and at last, it was returned to its original state of elegance. The perfectly laid brick was covered by thick ivy, and the grounds were surrounded by beautifully vibrant flowers, lush green plants, and tall, brilliant marble statues.

It all seemed like something out of a storybook rather than real life.

The travel horses pushed forward through the gates, and all any of them could do was gawk, unable to believe they were truly going to live here. Even the children, fussy and tired from such long travels, sensed the exhilaration from the adults and had begun to perk up with curiosity.

Ozzy, who rode with Beth in her carriage, stared up at the house in wonder, as though his little mind was trying to comprehend such a big change. "This is our new home, my little dove. We're going to live here now!" Beth whispered to the seemingly awestruck toddler next to her.

"Wooooow!" He exclaimed almost breathlessly, and though it was unclear if he actually understood what it all truly meant, Beth laughed in response, happily agreeing that 'wooow' was right.

Most of their belongings arrived before The Baudelaires, already unpacked and put away thanks to a moving crew hired on by Lawrence. In addition, he had also taken it upon himself to hire various help, like maids, gardeners, cooks, and even a personal chef, and as Lawrence stepped out of the carriage and onto the stone pavement, he could see one of their footmen waiting patiently to greet them at the door.

"Well, hello there, Baudelaires!" He called out from the porch enthusiastically.

Lawrence waved a quick hello before holding out his arms to take Atticus. "That's Mr. O'Bannon. He worked for the family that lived here previously." He explained once Winifred had situated herself.

They joined Beth and Ozzy next, and walked hurriedly up the front steps while Mr. O'Bannon welcomed them home.

Winifred audibly gasped as she entered inside, her eyes growing wide in amazement at everything around her, and once everyone had stepped through the front door, they understood her reaction at once.

After they had filed in one by one, Mr. O'Bannon offered a tour of the house and they happily accepted. He informed them of the origins of their new furniture, boasting about the craftsmanship of the Irish workers and the prestigious color schemes of the wallpapering, most notably, the newly popular Scheels green in the parlor and the dining room.

The new decor was so complimentary of the things they had brought from home, they were almost unrecognizable sitting amongst such fine things, almost as if they were new items themselves.

They had only made it through the first two floors before Atticus started falling asleep in his mother's arms, while Ozzy began to grow rather antsy. Winifred excused herself to rock with Atticus for a while and Beth, wanting to avoid a tantrum, decided to take Ozzy outside to get a better look at the water fountain out front. Which left Lawrence to finish off the tour with Mr. O'Bannon.

However, Mr. O'Bannon dismissed himself as well, needing to check how the luncheon was coming along and confirm the table was being set correctly. Lawrence didn't mind all that much, if anything, he was relieved to see how serious his staff seemed to take their jobs.

And so, just like that, everyone was off in different directions, making themselves right at home.

Lawrence, who now found himself alone, fancied himself a celebratory smoke out on the balcony. There, he smoked cigarette after cigarette while he watched over the farm hands below, reflecting how just months prior, he would have been down there in the dirt just like them. But, tilling soil and yanking weeds were a thing of the past, and someday soon, nothing but a distant memory.

Now, all there was left to do was assimilate to this new way of life.

Autobiography: Who is the protagonist you most relate to?

The curiosity of Clarice Starling (The Silence of the Lambs), the anger and drive and Type A personality of Amy Dunne (Gone Girl), something about both Nell and Joan (Hex) and the listlessness of the unnamed narrator in My Year of Rest and Relaxation that I can’t put my finger on - though this may just be recency bias, and growing up it was the resourcefulness Violet Baudelaire (A Series of Unfortunate Events) and curiosity (again) of Scout Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird).

daniel k : we talked about putting the danny’s together but haven’t done it yet. i have some thoughts about eddie and danny have some ‘twin telepathy’ but it actually being a shine between the two, which could be interesting!

atticus : he’s just this evil kid, and he would try his best to manipulate little dan into staying in georgia with them because he’s got ‘something special’ he could add to the ‘church’ ( cult ). we’d love to see danny defeat atti and his evil fam.

felix : i just feel like these two troubled men would get along. they could have met in an aa meeting, become friends that way. felix doesn’t open up a lot about what happened to his family, but if he knew daniel could Help Him, than he might.

quinten : he’s moth man and he’s afraid of people. dan was an orderly for awhile, maybe he helps take care of quin after one of his wings gets hurt badly? he’d be terrified, but hey, at least he won’t die.

joyce : i feel like this is just a plot that would sink into place? maybe while danny’s traveling after stopping drinking, he ends up in hawkins at the wrong time, when everything’s going to shit. idk if he could sense that the monster isn’t human, but if so, maybe he’s the only one who believes joyce at first, and helps her investigate? possibilities.

klaus : this could go two ways, either daniel ending up as his and his sister’s guardian, or a younger / teen danny running into them along the way while the baudelaire’s are running from olaf, since they’ve been to schools, to a circus, to a bunch of places that they could meet other kids.

rick grimes : we love apoc settings, and i just think they’d work together, idk.

sam winchester : same, but monsters. they’re both pretty intelligent and even thinking.

Why am I so gay.

Like I legit had a crush on Atticus Finch when I read To Kill a Mockingbird for the first time. Even though he was like fifty and i was fourteen.

Like, I don’t really have a type when it comes to girls. They’re all so pretty and nice and stuff.

But when it comes to guys, I have a very particular type, and that is:

So over the years I’ve ended up with crushes on Remus Lupin(in the books), Calvin O’Keefe, Klaus Baudelaire(books when I was younger. Not in the show because that’d be creepy), Milo Thatch. All guys in a very particular vein.

So when I read TKAM, Atticus just fit in to my type, and it made my young gay heart happy. (Is it gay and straight now since I’ve realized I’m genderfluid? I don’t really know how this works.)

When the new year began, the days seemed to breeze past them the closer they got to Winifred's due date. By March, she had outgrown most of her clothing, only being able to comfortably fit into her new maternity gown, but she hardly seemed to mind too much. Her only concern these days was the baby coming into the world safely and with Millie's promise to stay and help, she was confident everything would be alright.

As the baby began to migrate south, the discussion of whether or not they would be welcoming another son or daughter became a daily topic of conversation. They'd banter back and forth playfully, insisting they were right and the other wrong, but Lawrence never told Winifred why he was uncertain he was ready for another little girl.

Before Lawrence went off to work each day, he would tell their little one, "now you wait until I'm back, alright?", speaking to the fact he feared missing the birth. To which Winifred would tell her belly, "you come when you're ready."

When the day finally did arrive, Lawrence was off at the pub working his late shift and Winifred sent Beth along to retrieve him. She had almost forgotten how painful labor had been previously, even without the same complications as last time.

Once it started becoming almost unbearable, Millie wrapped her arms around her and began humming softly in her ear while they slowly rocked back and forth. Nothing could truly reduce the discomfort within Winifred's lower abdomen but Millie's soothing presence helped to put her mind at ease while she spoke in gentle voices, guided her breathing and tried to help relax her body.

Eventually though, even the sweetest of lullabies couldn't distract from the pain and sweat began pooling on Winifred's forehead.

Lawrence finally came bursting through the door nearly three hours after Winifred's waters had first broken. He smiled ear to ear at first, excited to meet the newest Baudelaire. But when he saw Winifred's face writhed up in pain, he rushed to her side immediately. "Oh, my wife! I'm terribly sorry, I came as soon as I could!"

"You came just in time," Millie reassured him, "but we can't delay any longer. Winifred, it's time to start pushing." Millie directed them into their places, remaining calm the entire time as they prepared to bring this new little one into the world.

"One more good push, honey, you're almost there." Millie assured her after hours of pushing.

With all her might, Winifred used what remained of her strength to follow Millie's instructions, gripping Lawrence's hand with her own and gave what she hoped would be the last push they needed to deliver this baby.

Over the echo of blood pumping in her ears, she finally heard it, the heartwarming sound of a newborn taking it's first breaths of life; their little one crying in Millie's arms. Relief washing over her, Winifred settled back against Lawrence's chest while her heartbeat slowly began to steady itself back to normal rhythm.

Millie coddled the baby in her arms, counting ten perfect fingers and ten perfect toes as she began preparing to bring him over to the washbasin to clean him off. She had helped bring hundreds of babies into the world, but none had ever felt quite like this before.

Nearly overcome with emotion, she turned to face the Baudelaire's and informed them that Lawrence had been right after all - they were welcoming another son. After processing what Mille had said, Lawrence couldn't help but to notice the way his body let out a breath, not even realizing he'd been holding it in.

Silently, he wondered if Winifred felt any disappointment in the news.

If she did, she didn't show it. After dressing him in a white, laced gown and warm bonnet, Millie passed the baby over to his parents. Winifred was beyond exhausted, but her readiness to hold her baby seemed to outweigh any fatigue she felt.
