  Zora thinks for a moment. The question about whether they wanted some interpretation or just some better sleep was something they really needed to consider.  “I guess I just wanted the chance to just talk about a few of these dreams. Not all of them but.. it’s nice to have someone listen every now and then.“ They could get decent enough sleep, it’s just that  - sometimes there was a whole lot of imagery to process alone.

i think that @auntiehildatm made a really great comment like, 15 seconds before you did that actually addresses this:

to chime in- from what i’ve observed, top/bottom has largely been appropriated in a power exchange setting. often used to express what is actually dominant / submissive. the easiest answer, when it’s specifically not a m/m pairing? for me? is to call it what it is. dom / domme and sub. but that supposes that power exchange is an element of the relationship. and as you said, it’s not per se an appropriate alternative in general, away from power exchange.

the presupposition of power exchange is why i, personally, don’t think that dominant/submissive/switch can really be universally applied.

It sounded like his own personal nightmare order, really, and Noah knew that if his familiar voice didn’t raise the woman’s suspicion? That bullshit order surely would. This wasn’t S.tarbucks, but a smalltown coffeeshop - one Noah had grown so very fond of. A couple of years ago, back in New York City, Noah remembered those kind of orders to be pretty damn common. He himself, however, had always prefered his coffee rather plain - the three shots were still accurate, but black, with no additional bullshit added.

It had been his first day as a cop, and Noah had looked forward to visiting Hilda’s - and his old - workplace all day long. Still dressed in his new uniform (damn, did he feel important wearing it), Noah had showed up with one arm resting on the counter - but really, he was playing pretend more than being serious about the act. Now Noah felt pretty damn cool, but Hilda had never been one he felt the need to impress. So when he showed up now, even more smartass than usual? It was mostly to make her smile, really, and give her a good reason to mock him fondly.

And, well - maybe he did want her to appreciate his uniform. Just a little bit.

“Good to see you, Hilda. How’s my favorite barista doing today?”

There it was now - a wide smile, a little too eager, a little too giddy - childlike, really -, giving away how Noah really felt. Ecstatic about his new job, while content to come home to a familiar place.

sabrina had seen the witches, all thirteen of them. the greendale thirteen had been seen by her twice now; once in a vision, and now in person. whatever, or whoever, had brought them back was walking among them, she could feel it, but her powers had not yet grown strong enough to allow her to pick out who had done it. “the - the greendale thirteen, aunt hilda,” the half-witch moved across the kitchen, closer to the woman as the fear on her face grew more evident. “i saw them - i saw them casting a circle.”
