LOL I love age gap relationships discourse starts & ends with '"she's an adult! respect her autonomy1!1!" but no one ever talks about why these guys go for women half their age or how older guys tend to be manipulative/controlling towards their young gfs ☕ / the happiest and unhappiest rs’s I know of are between couples with significant age gaps. In the case of the unhappiest, it has less to do with age (she’s 45 and he’s 55. No diff at that point) and more to do with the fact that they both suck and are bad partners. In the case of the happiest, they’re about 16 years apart (he’s older) and her husband adores her and their daughter. It’s an “I waited my whole life to have this” situation. And there is no manipulating this woman lol. She’s an attorney and tough as nails. I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but I also don’t think age gap relationships are always as awful and toxic as people make them out to be. IMO, Sebastian is a great example of someone who is in his early forties but still strikes me as someone in his thirties. I think it might benefit him to have a partner who’s a bit younger, but MATURE. ADULT. ACTS HER AGE. (*coughnotanaleoralbatypecough*). He needs someone to meet him where he is. If he (or anyone else his age) meets someone younger, but that person has a similar mindset and goals, why should that gap stand between them? But on the other hand, I can also see it getting toxic when one much older partner is controlling or manipulative toward someone who is young and easily led.
