Hey there, Summer! So, to sate my anxiety about tumblr's recent mass layoffs, I'm working on following folks I follow here over on bluesky as well. Do you have an account there that I can follow should the worst come to pass? Thanks!
Haaai! I've been thinking about getting a bluesky, but like a lot of things I forget to actually do something about it lol. It might be good to get on that sooner or later but I can't promise when, I'll post a link to it here though when I do make an account 🫶✨

Hey there, Odin! Do you have a bluesky account we can follow you on as well?
Hey there, @avita-anarchy !!
I don’t think that I have a Bluesky account? Maybe, possibly, probably … not?? Idk honestly, but if I do, I absolutely positively do not use it
Also: Like most other bloggers here on Tumblrdotcom, my messages and asks are 1,000% buried and completely underwater, so if I haven’t responded to a DM or an ask, please know that I am not ignoring you

Yeah, apparently it was designed and built by some guy who owned a car magazine, but he died before he could ever live in it, which I think may account for some of the fairly normal looking bits that clash with the more wild stuff.
HOLY SHIT I JUST FOUND THE BEST FUCKING HOUSE EVER. I NEED IT IMMEDIATELY SOMEONE GIVE ME $3.75million RIGHT NOW.
Tumblr media
What even is this??? Why are there so many shapes? Why is there a fake mining tunnel with cars about to drop off a bridge like in a bad western?
Tumblr media
There is just. So much going on here. And I love all of it. Supposedly that garage fits 11 cars and comes with a lift and a painting setup.
Tumblr media
IMAGINE the DND games you could have right here.
Tumblr media
Look at this fucking castle shit. Apparently there’s a huge dumbwaiter to bring up your firewood. And does that support pole have a tiny rock climbing wall???
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD IT DOES. And there’s a piano with…rails? IDK.
Tumblr media
I have 10% of an idea what’s happening here but is that…bench? covered in a string of heads??? With some kind of…prayer kneeling thingy at the end there? What is happening. What kind of weird religious bastard built this place?
Tumblr media
I have so many questions about this random mining tunnel thing. So fucking many.
There’s even a 3D tour available: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/36570-Us-Highway-24-N-Buena-Vista-CO-81211/2076799379_zpid/?

The last Princeps of Rome
Tumblr media
Marcus Aurelius Alexander Severus was born in Arca Caesarea, Syria (present-day Akkar district, Lebanon) on 1 October 208. Unlike all assassinated emperors before him, the Senate mourned the assassination of this young Princeps for decades.
He was proclaimed emperor at the age of thirteen on 13 March 222, two days after the death of his predecessor Elagabalus. The historian Dio Cassius, who served as consul, describes Alexander Severus' character as calm and peaceful. He was characterized above all by his religious tolerance; He believed that "everyone is free to freely profess his beliefs." He had an extraordinarily kind attitude towards Christians and Jews.
During his early years, the government was really left in the hands of his grandmother Julia Maesa and his mother Julia Avita Mamaea who dedicated themselves to cleaning up the financial mess left by Elagabalus. His grandmother died in August 224. In 226 He married Sallustia Barbia Orbiana, with whom he had no children and two years later she was banished by order of Julia Mamaea.
Although his mother always held great power in many aspects, as the young emperor grew up he began to make his own decisions.
He faced the Sassanians who began to establish their new empire replacing the Parthians. In 230 they attacked the province of Mesopotamia. Alexander gathered an army to begin his military campaign in 231. In 233 Ardacher, king of the Sassanians, withdrew from the newly conquered provinces. Severus Alexander considered this a victory and had a triumph.
A year later, the Germans began to attack the northern borders of the empire. Alexander headed there with his troops and to gain time he sent gifts to the leaders of the enemy peoples. The soldiers took advantage of this to accuse him of a "cowardly" act. In fact the whole army hated him for not continuing with the policy initiated by the first of the Severan Dynasty (Septimius): paying exorbitant salaries to the army. Septimius Severus since the year 193 did this in his day to ensure the loyalty of the troops, as did his son 'Caracalla'. This made the army fill with an excessive ambition and began to see the position of emperor as something that could be taken by force. The young Alexander understood the danger and drastically lowered the salaries of the army: but it was too late.
On 18 March 235 the 26-year-old Emperor Alexander Severus was assassinated by his own soldiers in a camp near Moguntiacum (modern Mainz, Germany). They then killed his mother, and proclaimed Maximinus Thrax as the new emperor. Three years later, Maximinus was also assassinated, and the Senate was able to deify Alexander, something Maximinus had not allowed. Decades after Roman historians still believed that the assassination of Alexander Severus was a great misfortune for Rome, and they were right.
His death meant the end of the Principate created by Augustus in 27 BC, and the government of Maximinus Thrax was the beginning of 50 years of anarchy with 26 emperors along with countless aspirants to the throne; Except for one, all of them died violently. It is the era known as "The crisis of the third century" characterized by constant internal struggles that lasted until the arrival of Diocletian to power, who saved Rome from its total collapse- 200 years before the fall of the western empire- by creating the Dominate.

Okay, in the KNPS AU, we know the Mata and the Metru's stances on pets... how about the Inika/Mahri and the various other Toa? (Helryx, we know your favorite animal is the african grey you own who is just as intimidating as you.)
Bfkshdis okay hang on
Jaller: dog and cat person equally. Has a pet golden retriever and she is the sweetest dog on the planet. Wishes his parents would let him get a crab like Takua's.
Hahli: has farm dogs and barn cats and likes them both fine enough but is a horse girl in her heart of hearts. Is trying so hard to keep that under wraps.
Kongu: Bird Boy. Has a pet budgie. Genuinely debating whether it's named Ka or to go with @avita-anarchy 's suggestion and give him a Kia with a missing i in the logo.
Hewkii: gets emotional about tiny dogs. He and Macku have made many jokes about adopting dogs instead of having kids when they're older. Neither of them is actually joking.
Nuparu: allergic to animal dander. Loves lizards and wants one so bad.
Matoro: walking animal encyclopedia. Loves birds, especially chickens. Firm believer in keeping your fucking cat indoors.
Takua: crab :) became somewhat less enamored by regular pets after they had to clean up after other people's pets on the regular.
Krahka: hates cats. Will not explain why.
Norik: president of the Creepy-Crawly Fan Club. Has been working in conservation efforts for endangered lizards and bugs for decades. Matoro thinks he's so cool and Kualus doesn't feel A Kind Of Way about that
Varian: prefers humans. Animal brains weird her out.
Kualus: has been fascinated by birds since he was a kid. You know that post like "oh you're a bird fan? Name every bird" and then they do? That's Kualus.
Ahkmou: says his favourite animal is snakes because snakes are cool and badass but actually it's goats.

  — BASICS.
IS YOUR MUSE TALL / SHORT / AVERAGE? somewhere on the cusp between average and short. 5'6.5"
ARE THEY OKAY WITH THEIR HEIGHT ? some might argue the .5 is proof enough he's touchy about his height - which he is, as the malnourished runt of a notably tall, sturdy roman-nordic family line (all of which different iterations of himself, meaning large used to be his default). he remains unbothered by any other comparison however - to modern humanity or creatures alike. his size is a feature far more often than he anticipated, so that helps.
WHAT’S THEIR HAIR LIKE? thick and dark, holds an immaculate wave. subject to frequent and willful change, including a permanent 'genetic dyejob' from his natural light blonde to the black he sports now. likes to keep it luxuriously long whenever able, but has sported both short masculine cuts and scalp-tight shaves for practicality's sake.
DO THEY SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON THEIR HAIR / GROOMING? rarely, beyond brushing.. doesn't bother with intricate hairstyles or accessories unless forcibly assed by the dresscode of some event or societal position. even then, he tries to opt for the simplicity of tails or singular braids.
DOES YOUR MUSE CARE ABOUT THEIR APPEARANCE / WHAT OTHERS THINK ? considering the amount of changes done to it - from colors to bone structure - and the variety of vessels his souls has held, he understandably feels no strong attachment to his visual presentation. has a vague preference for fashion and a knowledge what he looks good in, but his enjoyment of sharp angles, dark metals and masculinity does not speak of a strict adherence to it
  — PREFERENCES
▸ INDOORS OR OUTDOORS? outdoors, diehard village boy. ▸ RAIN OR SUNSHINE? rain. ▸ FOREST OR BEACH? forest. ▸ PRECIOUS METALS OR GEMS? precious metals, far more versatile and visually appealing. ▸ FLOWERS OR PERFUMES? perfume (for the longevity alone). flowers don't particularly like him. ▸ PERSONALITY OR APPEARANCE? personality. appearance has little impact on his opinion beyond surface level sexual attraction (which means nothing in the grand scheme of partner choice). ▸ BEING ALONE OR BEING IN A CROWD? can handle either for an impressive while before feeling a craving for the other. forever middleground - spending time in trusted company. ▸ ORDER OR ANARCHY? anarchy, it serves his goals best and he finds it far more stimulating. order can be stifling in more than small doses. ▸ PAINFUL TRUTHS OR WHITE LIES? capable of stomaching and saying both (less so the former). ▸ SCIENCE OR MAGIC? he sees magic as science, as proven by him reverse engineering it. ▸ PEACE OR CONFLICT? conflict. ▸ NIGHT OR DAY? night. ▸ DUSK OR DAWN? dusk. ▸ WARMTH OR COLD? cold. ▸FEW CLOSE FRIENDS OR MANY ACQUAINTANCES ? (very) few close friends. ▸ READING OR PLAYING A GAME?
  — QUESTIONNAIRE
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MUSE’S BAD HABITS? To narrow down the definition of 'habit', I'm excluding more general inclinations more connected to psyche like 'impulsivity', 'manipulation', 'obsessiveness'. As such, lying is his worst habit - a skill honed to perfection and utilized without much thought, on automatic. Some might call him compulsive, but it's much more controlled than it might seem. Second best is his habit of disorganization and physical mayhem - he's unconcerned with order as it isn't as stimulating, so makes little effort to allot dedicated places for things when his memory suits him well enough in navigating the chaos he creates. Other physical habits include the marks of his restlessness, colloquially The Ten Tenseness Tells: oral mannerisms like chewing (fixation), tongue clicking, whistling, humming, foot tapping, fidgeting or playing with items, drumming fingers in tune, touching - texture fixation, cracking knuckles, picking wounds/scabs.
HAS YOUR MUSE LOST ANYONE CLOSE TO THEM? HOW HAS IT AFFECTED THEM? His daughter, Avita. Not only his only living child after countless children lost in infancy, but one whose life and death was the direct result of Nikodemus' gluttony for power beyond his due. It was just about the most devastating loss to at last watch her grow and give his all to ensure she thrived in safety, fully assimilated within a loving community, only to watch those very people bring about her demise when she proved far more powerful than they deemed safe. It broke Nik, in a sense, to lose her to the very power he'd pursued in the name of ascension above mortality, humanity, vulnerability, which in the end provided nothing but a dangerous alienation. In the true fashion of a grieving parent, he razed that town to the ground and pursued eternal life - in turn, eternal time to amend his daughter's death and reach ultimate indomitability - both for himself and for her. He walked away much colder from the ashes of Krilnei.
WHAT ARE SOME FOND MEMORIES YOUR MUSE HAS? Many, though with painfully few people. Most notably and importantly, time spent with Antonín and Avita. His life as light-touched King Lucius alongside his brilliant sworn knight Adiel (as well as said era's eventful end - and beginning of a terrible, wonderful bond) is indispensibly precious to him. Holding his daughter for the first time in millenia was unforgettable. There are many gentler, softer moments he holds dear as well - memorable in their uneventful domesticity, in the rush of simply living without haste or need for novelty. Rarity for a man like him.
IS IT EASY FOR YOUR MUSE TO KILL? Taking a life is a method of sustenance to him as natural as breathing and eating is to humans. His life, immortality and magic all hinge on a mechanism he's built centered around the automatic sacrifice of a life for his own. There's an eerie passivity to it all. — and beyond that, he doesn't shy away from killing directly and violenty with his own two hands either.
WHAT’S IT LIKE WHEN YOUR MUSE BREAKS DOWN? Explosive. Bloody. Apocalyptic. If only for the fact he doesn't break down at all. Whatever emotions should be externalized in their raw form instead manifest into anger, impulsivity, violence, desire, desperation - distractions with which to inflict collateral upon his surroundings. Instead of introspection, he self-soothes through sheer chaos, hedonism or rampage. If unable, he would simply shut down, forced to feel everything in its brutal sincerity - a pain he can rarely afford.
IS YOUR MUSE CAPABLE OF TRUSTING SOMEONE WITH THEIR LIFE? No. In the sense of genuine incapacity to do as much. His life is no longer so easily endangered to begin with, marked by immortality and, half the time, near invulnerability. Its loss is not permanent, so trust is a moot point. To put it in the actual hands of another means endangering millenia of survivalism and pursuit for power, so the notion is nigh unthinkable. Nor the inclination, really. After 600 BC and the betrayal he suffered at the hands of his most loyal to which he entrusted his own life, he's since ventured to ensure it never happens again. There is one notable exception to the rule, of course - Antonín Cainhurst (exception to much concerning Nikodemus). His eldritch blood essence is an immutable part of Nik, infecting his very physical body and even extending to his spirit, soul and magic. A bond that took centuries of trust to be approved and centuries more to bloom.
WHAT’S YOUR MUSE LIKE WHEN THEY’RE IN LOVE? Unsure. He is unsure - no longer possessed of his usual unquestionable confidence, nor thoughtless egotism. Love, genuine love gives him pause of consideration. Makes him selfless, concerned, un-self-absorbed. Has him contemplative of the other's needs, their wants, his own actions and compromises, if he should really even stay when it may be better to.. go.

@avita-anarchy I do know that a low birth rate is concerning, I certainly don't want elderly people to suffer or society to collapse because there are only old people and no one else. And this looks like a good video. I will check it out.
And yeah I'm also concerned about how this directly affects me, I've always wanted to have a family and I'm basically having to face the reality that it may never happen for me because I may never be able to afford it. It's concerning in a big picture sense for humanity at large and it's extremely sad for me, personally, in a small picture sense and these issues directly affect my life.
I appreciate your addition and am looking forward to watching the video, but I wanted to add this because I don't want people to get the idea that I don't think it's big deal if the human race disappears.
But I do think we better get real, take responsibility for our actions as a whole and our Earth as a whole and our species as a whole. And we should probably do it fast. Or else this is exactly what will happen to the human race and probably sooner than we think.
Tumblr media
Republican policies and misogynistic rhetoric are killing the white birth rate.
White conservative single men are broken.
White conservative single women can't find a decent partner.
Republican lonerism is coming home to roost.

(CC: @avita-anarchy)
a lot of the original meridional migratory paths did have to cross mountainous terrain in places, but they also weaved through forest clearings and followed rivers and soforth--the main problem is just that the needs of a wagonway are very different from the needs of a railway. Tight curves, and to a lesser extent steep grades, don't affect animal- or mellanoid-drawn wagons nearly as much as they affect a railway locomotive.
Also, historically, probably a majority of steam locomotives were actually singlet 'easy-type' locos. Articulated duplexes became really common during the end of the first generation steam era and were almost the default mainline motive power during the advanced steam era--and the Garratt was the most common type of articulated duplex loco.
It was pretty common for railroads to turn their duplexes into one or two pairs of 'easy-type's during the off-years after traffic from the Omen apparition died down, since a larger number of weaker locomotives would be more versatile than a smaller number of stronger locomotives which would be so helpful during Omen apparitions. It was relatively rare for the reverse to occur--taking a pair of engines that were originally built as singlets and putting them under a single large boiler--but it did happen.
Tumblr media
To account for the steep grades and tight curvature on the pre-existing wagonways that became the first railroads on Mellanus, swivelling articulated locomotives had to be introduced early on. This is one such early articulated locomotive, similar to a Garratt from Earth, which was such a successful early example that it became the prototype for most articulated locos on Mellanoid railways.
