tadhg sighs as he settles into his spot on the bench. he loves this section of the garden with the fountain, but so do most people and it’s too crowded during the day for his liking. but now, with the revel on, it’s practically deserted. he watches for a few minutes and takes a sip from his drink, the music a much more tolerable volume as it filters its way to him through the open windows and doors. he hears footsteps approaching and tenses ever so slightly, wondering if it’s fiadh or saoirse trying to get him back inside for their own, very different reasons. he looks up, relieved to see it’s not either of his sisters. “needed a break from all of that already?”

“i’m not judging you for going grey. i’m not a total asshole. but your eyes are weird. like that’s not at all how they normally look. honestly, i don’t think that they’re how anyone’s eyes normally look?” she was trying not to come off as rude, but a blunt approach seems to be her best option. she’s noticed that things are usually a little…off with danny, but this takes the cake. after all, whose eyes glow like that?

“can i take you on a date?” the words come out too quick and brooks almost cringes. he’s barely given beck a chance to open the door or say hello. so much for not coming on too strong. but he’s nervous about this in a way he’s never been nervous asking someone out before and he thinks he would’ve chickened out if he didn’t ask first thing. “we could do dinner or a movie. or both. or literally anything else. i actually don’t care that much about where we go, i just thought it would be cool if we went on an actual date.”

emily pulls her hood down and downs nearly half the water bottle she’s been handed in the wings after making her way offstage before she finally looks up, catching sight of them. a huge grin breaks out across her face as she runs over, crashing into them and wrapping her arms tightly around them. “you’re here! i thought you said you couldn’t make it, but you’re here!” she’s practically squealing in delight as she pulls back, still grinning ear to ear. “i can’t believe you’re actually here!” she hasn’t let go fully, her hands now holding onto their upper arms instead as if they’ll disappear the second she stops making contact with them.

THE GOLDEN LIGHT OF HIS desk lamp pools over the edge of the table , throwing soft shadows in the rest of the garage . it's hardly evening , but the time of year has the night creeping overhead earlier && earlier each day . it's not even late enough for dinner yet ( though roman hasn't exactly had lunch either so — maybe they can cut even somewhere between meals ) . it's unclear to him if gabriel eats but still — he orders him something . just for old time's sake .

" YOU HAVE TO stop showing up unannounced , " roman says , as if he's at all disappointed by this change of pace in his daily routine . " you're gonna start making me feel special . " he throws him a playful side smile before carefully rolling up a sheet of music he was working on .

persephone tilts her head back and GRINS, albeit a little crookedly - mostly due to the bottle in her hand filled to the brim with pomegranate wine. well, it had been, but she's down about three quarters and between the liquor and the heat of the sun, she feels mighty rosy indeed. been a while since she's seen apollo though, so she's a little surprised. not unwelcome, though.

"and just what brings you down to my lil' neck of the woods?" namely, the garden. she's been plucking weeds all day and her fingers are sore, but everything seems to preen a little brighter these days. especially considering the sun himself is gracing the presence of their blooms. "not trouble, i hope."
